Welcome Lucky 7

Finished a Wild Game w friends who were kind enough to invite us as they had a suite. I was pretty full from the event. My Indian Girl.. She is vegetarian so she didn't get much more than fruits. I found this place in yelp with a lot of options. The staff was super helpful and took good care of us.

Amazing! I've been here a few times now shortly after moving into the area. One of my favorite local spots now! The service was laid back and the Thai tea is perfect, not too sweet and actually had that good hint of tea taste in it! We ordered their fried chicken and the crispy pork that came with rice. The chicken and pork were perfectly crispy with great flavor. The chicken came with some sweet sauce as well. I've grown up with my family business making amazing fried chicken but this place honestly tops that! I can't say that for many places! The drinks in bottles were like $6 but it was worth it and you could take home the bottle if you wanted! The place was very nicely decorated and very cute.

I swear I've been to this building before years ago, I had a sense of dejavue when we went there for dinner. They have a small parking lot, might have to find parking in the neighborhood. Lots of greenery when we walked into the restaurant, reminds me of my mother's house. Small restaurant but they were busy. I can tell this place was a gem, almost every table had soups. My friend was craving for boat noodles, which was delicious. I saw kow mun gai, but crispy option too?? Instant curiosity! I had to try it. The ginger sauce was perfect. The owner is so sweet, she told us they have a mango juice and plum juice on the house. Come try the food if you're in the area.

It was my first visit here, and navigating getting here amidst the light rail is an inconvenience if you don't use GPS and are on the wrong side of University Ave. My other quibble is the parking lot is small and tight. Everything else about this restaurant is a delight! The food, service, and ambiance were all really enjoyable. While this isn't a fine dining restaurant, I found the fast casual atmosphere adorable. The vibe here, with the cushions, string lights, and tablecloths was festive and really added a lot to the space. The aroma on entering the restaurant smelled so good; I immediately knew we were in for a tasty meal. The server was extremely warm and inviting; I loved when I told her it was our first visit, her reply was "Welcome...and see you next week". She wasn't far off...the food warrants a return visit. I asked for the Pad Thai (with chicken) to be mild, but I guess it was Thai mild, because it still had a little kick to it. That normally wouldn't bother me at all, because I've always liked spicy food, but as I've gotten older my digestive tract isn't on the same page any longer. I always order cream cheese wontons when they are on the menu; and these were uniquely flavored (in a good way) in both the sauce and the filling. The egg rolls were OK, and my least favorite item that we got. The noodle salad (with chicken egg roll and shrimp) was fresh tasting and I liked the peanut sauce on it.

After missing breakfast because of early meetings I was on the hunt for something delicious for lunch. I was not disappointed with Basil Cafe. I ordered the basil fried rice with chicken and extra veggies and the veggie egg rolls. I ordered online and when I went in to pick up the staff was very friendly and provided me an ETA for my order to be ready. I made a stop before heading to my hotel and my food was still hot when I finally was able to eat. The rice was cooked perfectly and had the right balance of veggies/chicken. The egg rolls were crispy and flavorful. The sauce that comes with the egg rolls had a little bit of sweetness but not overpowering. I am so glad I decided to give Basil cafe a try.

Incredibly accommodating for GF diets. I got the pad kee mao with shrimp, medium spicy. The spice level was perfect, the shrimp was cooked well, and the noodles had good flavor, even slightly sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Good potion for lunch too. Delivery was quick with uber eats.

Very good food in a basic restaurant. We started with some tasty egg rolls. We enjoyed the drunken noodles and the crispy chicken. Both were very tasty. Service was a little slow but we enjoyed the meal.

This is a mini review as I only did takeout just for me on way home from work. My favorite takeout place (Thai Cafe) was closed for Holidays so I decided to take a chance on Basil. It did not disappoint! A few things I appreciated: * Easy on-line ordering for takeout * Reasonable prices * On-site parking and easy access to transit * Delicious food! I ordered the drunken Noodles with fresh tofu, one of my standby Thai dishes. I ordered medium spicy, which I thought was fairly mild but I always under order spice when trying somewhere new. I would describe it as above average. There was something a little different O can't quite describe- almost a smoky quality to the spices but I really enjoyed it * Super friendly staff * Beautiful interior. I want to come back and dine inside!

My favorite Thai restaurant in the cities! Everything is delicious. They have 3 spice levels (no spice, mild, medium, or spicy). I typically order medium when I try a new place. I think their medium has a bit more heat than most medium places in the cities (although personally I added more chili oil, which was available at the table side). Service was friendly, and the restaurant had ample seating and was overall a cute vibe. They have gluten free and vegetarian options which are clearly labeled on the menu, which I really appreciate! Would recommended for dining out with family and friends!

Don't serve customer wilted veggies!!! If you don't have basil please 86 it. Got served wilted basil asked the server for a new bowl of basil but rather than taking it back she just said " we only have wilted basil at the moment." Let that sink in a bit. Nothing looks worst than a restaurant serving wilted basil and not to mention given cold egg-roll that's been sitting at the counter for a while. If your staff don't care about the food they serve don't expect a good review from customers. Use common sense!!! Wilted veggies= bad food

Always loooove going to basil cafe!! My favorites are the crispy chicken, Tom kha soup, and mango sticky rice as pictured! The food is really flavorful and the crispy rice comes with cilantro broth that feels like a hug! Service has always been good and the place is pretty cute with lots of plants! Parking can just be a little tight in their parking lot sometimes :) I also like their tea that comes in bottles-- the selection is awesome!

The food is the best we've had anywhere, this is our go to for birthdays. Every time someone asks what do we want for our birthday this is always first on our list. Can't go wrong with anything you order here. You have to get the chicken wings, some papaya salad, curry and a noodle dish. The service here is amazing too. The servers explained the menu to us and answered any questions we had regarding allergies and suggested dishes for us to get to avoid the allergens. It is mostly self serve and you can just order on your phone through the QR code or with them. Bring cash so you don't get the surcharge. Parking is limited but you are able to park where the signs say rathkeller.

I've ordered from On's dozens of times and they honestly deserved this review a lot sooner…read more Everything I've ever eaten from On's is authentic, delicious and bursting with flavor. I've tried numerous menu items, including their Laab, Pad-ga-pow, mango salad, pineapple curry, pad Thai and Prik Prik Moo Grop. There's another dish I've tried there that seems it's no longer on their menu but it was a curry seafood dish served in an actual coconut. It was amazing! My favorites so far are the mango salad and pad Thai. The #70 Moo Grop dish is a close one for top picks but my only complaint is the pork chunks weren't my preferred texture. The sauce, however, is a show stealer. I could literally drink it! It's that good. I've personally never had a negative eating experience with Ons but my husband did complain to me about their pineapple curry. He orders his food at the spiciest level, and I only ever tried a bite of his, but he thought it was very sour and tasted pickely. It was not the best curry I've had but I didn't think it was bad. I'm a seasoned Thai food eater - it's basically all I eat. So I've tried all of the Thai spots in the twin cities. On's is sitting in my top two. I've never eaten inside the restaurant so I can't say much for the service, but I have been in the restaurant to pick up orders and there isn't much to say for its ambiance. It's a very casual setting. My only complaint about Ons is that they serve their curry in shallow containers which makes for smaller portions. If they served their curry in soup containers and gave larger portions, they'd be my go-to spot every time. Right now, my other favorite Thai spot has them beat on curry portions. But that doesn't stop me from coming back for other menu items.

Tried a new spot solely based on Yelp photos and reviews. I was craving a mean wonton (or three)…read moreand this was the spot that I decided on. When I drove by, I wasn't sure if they were open because it was so dark inside and we didn't see an open sign. I tried the spring rolls, pad see ew and the order of the wontons. I absolutely LOVED the spring rolls. They tasted fresh, and I enjoyed the basil in them. When I come back this is a must for me. The wontons were good and spiced well, but not my favorite out there. The main dish, pad see ew, got a lot of compliments so we went with that dish. I really enjoyed that as well - flavors of basil and ginger paired well with the thick noodles and veggies. I added chicken for $2 and I thought there was a generous potion of protein added for that amount. Was enough for me and my partner to share and had some leftover. Overall, great experience and we will be back.

We went there before they closed down for renovation…read more Stuffed tofu is definitely my favorite item out of everything on their menu. It was crisp and vegetables inside felt fresh. The sauce that came with it is also a perfect pairing to the dish. The 4 pieces really fill you up so definitely good for its price. Portions are definitely good at this restaurant and you can easily find street parking in the neighborhood behind. Mohinga was okay. It was behind the first two times I came here. The fish cake in Mohinga was tasty as well as the fried peas. The boat noodle has very rich flavor. Broth was good and they gave generous amount of bean sprouts. La Phat Ye was good. They normally don't offer iced but we asked them to change. Overall, it's a great restaurant with decent prices and we hope that we can get back into business ASAP.

I feel blessed to say that one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in the United States is…read moreliterally right here in the Twin Cities, because the food here is heavenly to the point of me consistently returning despite living far from the establishment. In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
