I had never even heard of this spot before my friend brought me here (it's her favorite restaurant), and now I'm already recommending it to everyone I know! Such cute decor inside, and they also have a patio outside which will be amazing in warmer weather! We started with the cream cheese wontons and WOW! I could've eaten 20 of them. Super fresh with the perfect slightly sweet filling and an amazing dipping sauce. So good! We shared a few different dishes and every single one was a 10/10. The Curry Basil fried rice had the PERFECT medium spice level and we added chicken, all the meat was super high quality with zero weird/fatty pieces. My personal favorites were the Pad Thai and the cow soy. The Pad Thai was a delicious classic with tons of toppings, and the Lanna Khao Soi was a completely new flavor profile for me...creamy, coconutty, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot! On top of the food, the staff was SO sweet and incredibly helpful walking us through the menu and giving recommendations. You can tell they really care about the experience here. Tip! If you're a visually person like me, their Grub Hub menu has photos of everything! I will absolutely be back and already have multiple friends planning to try it after hearing me rave about it. Intimate and fresh! Located in the Saint Anthony community of Saint Paul, everything here is authentic. Lanna Thai has a robust menu with not only the food being delicious but also the drinks. Vietnamese coffee is served for $5 and there is also Thai tea, Thai iced coffee along with various other unique options. The interior dining is very small. Many do take out for this reason. Contrary, if you dine in, expect to have a very intimate dining experience with the close proximity of each table. I dined in today with a book and could hear every word at my neighboring table. The Lanna egg roll appetizer came out piping hot and I opted to add chicken which was the right choice. For my main dish, I got the Lanna Khao Soi with added chicken which was out of this world. Via the menu: Northern style coconut curry soup with egg noodles, pickled mustard, red onion, cilantro, green onion, and lime. Garnished with crispy egg noodle on top. Choice of protein. This is a very cute restaurant. Our server was attentive and efficient. Our table shared shrimp spring rolls which were fresh and delicious with the sauce. I tried fried rice with tofu, and my friends had the massaman curry and the pad Thai. We enjoyed our entrees. I had spice level 3 and I could have had it a bit spicier. We went there on Friday during peak dinner time, and it was very packed. They don't have a lot of seatings in general, but they let us sit in the bar area. We waited around 10-15 mins to get our food, so it wasn't terrible given how busy they were. We got the Panang Curry with tofu and Homok Talay. Panang Curry was very good but the ratio between soup and vegetables was not even. It was way too much soup for so little veggies and tofu, but the soup is a good mixture of coconut and red curry. I have never had Homok Talay before, but it's supposed to be steamed salmon with shrimp and squid. We didn't see any piece of salmon at all, and it's basically shrimp, squid and mussels. It's still very good, but I just don't know if it's a typo on the menu or they just changed it. The owner was very social and service is good! It's a small restaurant overall, and I'd recommend if you want to dine it at somewhere lowkey and causal. read more

I got the $12 vegetarian lunch with the choice of pad Thai. Nice and saucy mixed with thinly sliced carrots, mushrooms a couple of pieces of bok choy and other things. You get a choice of an app and I chose cream cheese wontons. Nice and light with a sweet sauce that you don't even really need. I loved these. If I need Thai in a pinch, I'd come here. read more

My favorite Thai restaurant in the cities! Authentic taste! Excellent food and service!

I stumbled upon this super cute, quaint little restaurant while working nearby. Upon entering I was greeted warmly and let to a small table. The bright, fun decor makes the restaurant feel lively, despite the size. From the umbrellas hanging from the ceiling to the colorful tablecloths, this place is adorbs. After glancing over both the lunch and dinner menus, I decided on pad basil stir fry with shrimp and a Thai tea. The lunch menu also includes an app, I chose the chicken egg roll. I was super excited to see kao soi on the menu, it's my favorite Thai dish. Looking forward to coming back for it. My meal was good, but the entree only had 3 small shrimp and was mostly peppers and onions. I ordered it a level 3 spicy and it was very mild. I requested chili oil to spice it up. The egg roll was homemade and VERY GOOD. The server was attentive, he was training a young lady and spoke very kindly to her and was very patient. Pack your patience, the service is painfully slow. I'd definitely visit again, and try a chicken entree or the pad Thai. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit. read more

Pretty disappointed in the spice level. It's so close to where we live, but constantly we don't know what spice level we'll get. We spent over $150 for a family gathering. Three dishes were supposed yo be 4 to 5 of spice level. Both were super bland. Our family who lives around the corner said they always asks for 5, because you don't know what hat you'll get, most of the time not spicy. I hope they can get this fixed. read more

I had the food from the restaurant delivered to my hotel room. I know it would have been even better fresh, but after a long day I was willing to sacrifice that for the convenience of staying in my room. I ordered the khai soi with shrimp. OMG! It did not disappoint. I loved that they packaged everything so that my noodles weren't soggy when I got it. I was able to add everything to the base soup and it was piping hot. It was everything and possibly more than I expected. I also got the cream cheese wontons. Just thinking about the food has my mouth watering. Really cute restaurant! The lady who took our order was so lovely, and spoke to us for a while which was really nice. The food was great, but the spice levels were way hotter than we thought they'd be I got a 1 and I should have got a 0. My husband loves spicy food but even his level 3 was really hot. Second time there,and incredibly disappointing. Appetizer came Luke warm, and main dish Pad See Ew was basically inedible. Ordered mild spice,came way too hot,noodles were mush. I went here because I love Thai food and I was thinking, maybe it was different, I ordered the cream cheese, Wong tongs which were way to sweet,Give me some cream cheese wonton with some green onions chopped in it and regular cream cheese. I can make better at home because I love Thai food. I frequent Thai restaurants all the time, I also ordered the chicken wings, not a good choice, I will say this once, and I will say it again if you want some good Thai chicken, go to Bon con, still the best chicken in Minnesota but I was hungry and I was over that way I would not recommend this place no seasoning my chicken was undercooked and I just gave it to the dogs, the atmosphere is wonderful, but those are the only two things that I tried there and I'm gonna give a fair review maybe I'll go back another time and see what is about, but I would not recommend this place, unless you have dietary issues with spicy food read more
