My friend ordered the pad Thai and it looked amazing. He loved it. He added shrimp. I could see the steam coming off it when it got to the table. I also liked that you could get your spice level set from a range of 1-10 (he got a 'hot' Minnesota 3..... haha). Service was great. 3 stars is exactly what this restaraunt deserves. The location is fantastic; right next to the Mill City Museum. Service was fine but I was surprised to see an additional charge on my bill for vegetables. We ordered the yellow curry which was nice, but had this mystery charge and no itemized receipt. We asked what the curry came with, if not with vegetables and they said they are usually mostly peppers, etc. I said 'well we didn't ask for anything other than the yellow curry'. We ended up just paying it but I have never had to pay to have vegetables in a curry. No meat, no tofu, just vegetables. We also got the drunken noodles which I would not order again. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the experience we had at this restaurant was unacceptable. The service we received throughout dinner was extremely disappointing, and we felt that we were not given the same level of attention as other guests. Based on the poor service, I made the decision not to leave a tip. What happened afterward was even worse. After we had settled our bills and left the restaurant, our group was standing outside on the sidewalk having a casual conversation. To my disbelief, our waiter actually came outside, approached me in front of everyone, and questioned me about why I hadn't left him a tip, asking whether he had done a bad job. I found this behavior incredibly rude, confrontational, and completely unprofessional. Being approached outside the restaurant and questioned about a tip in front of our entire group was embarrassing and made an already disappointing experience significantly worse. A tip is earned through good service. It is not an entitlement, and customers should never be made to feel uncomfortable or publicly confronted for choosing not to leave one. If the waiter was genuinely concerned about the quality of his service, there were far more professional ways to handle the situation. Following a customer outside to question their tipping decision is certainly not one of them. Restaurant management should take this incident seriously. Poor service is one thing, but treating a paying customer this way after they have left the establishment is entirely another. Sorry to say, this was mediocre, from the chewy chicken hidden within various noodle dishes to mostly forgettable shrimp summer rolls and variable levels of service at this noisy restaurant. The best part is that it's across from the Guthrie Theater so if you want acceptable Thai before your show, this will be OK (and plz make reservations if pre-show). I was surprised how busy this restaurant was on the random Wednesday night when I visited with a large group from work. I hadn't seen the mediocre reviews beforehand (someone else had selected the restaurant), so the crowd plus the nice ambiance got my hopes up for a good meal. Unfortunately, the reviews ended up being correct. The few appetizers we tried, plus my main course (a shrimp and veg stir-fry) were disappointing without exception, and the rest of the group seemed to feel the same way. Horrible service. Lunch on 7/13 at noon. Young waiter was completely RUDE and ridiculous. I would never go back to this restaurant. There was no reason for his outrageous arrogant attitude. Plus they do a fabulous job of getting our group of six- eight people taken care of so we can walk across the street to the Guthrie to be on time for the plays we see! Our daughter was performing at the Guthrie Theater and was the only reason we came here. We had a guest who flew in for the performance and we came here for a pre show dinner. Food was good, but you can't think of worst service, EVER! We weren't asked for our drinks so I ended up going up to the desk to request! Our guest was the first one to order, and never got his food! After waiting for 45 minutes we reminded our server and he assured it was coming. All of us got our dishes finally showed up and it was 67 minutes.... Still no sign of his dish. Very good Thai food and super close to the Guthrie! If you have tickets to a show, add this restaurant to your list of places to eat before. Service seems like it can be quick if needed (though we took our time ordering). Reasonable drink and food prices. We got spring rolls to share as an app between two people, and then each got our own entree. The spring rolls are kind of thick, so you have to eat them in several bites (and they kind of fall apart when doing that), but the spicy sauce they come with is so good. For my entree I got the Panang curry. I had to ask for more white rice to finish the curry (which is complimentary- so ask!), but would definitely recommend. The food was very bland. Worse, my stomach still hurts 2 days after eating there. I recommend if you go, get the fried tofu appetizer. Everything else was so bland I felt like I was at the Old Country Buffet. One member of my party had a noodle dish that had almost no sauce on it. It was basically just a bowl of noodles. The soup is served with a live flame that heats the soup. There's a large variety of seafood, and the chilis can add an unexpected kick if you're not careful! The broth was good, but the fish didn't feel seasoned at all. The dish felt disparate, and didn't feel like they blended flavors well. Randomly decided to visit Kindee Thai for the first time on a weekend and got seated quickly. I love not having to make reservations in advance and being able to get seated immediately. The staff was very efficient with us as we were in a hurry and they got everything to us promptly. We started our meal with cream cheese wontons and these were delightful, I especially enjoyed the tough of jam inside the wonton. I chose to order a curry dish while my boyfriend got the pad see ew. From our Wednesday night, pre-Guthrie visit, this restaurant deserves a five-star rating. The service was crisp and friendly, the food was terrific (fresher and livelier than the nearby Sawatdee, in our opinion), and the bathrooms were clean and tidy. In the process of scouting dining options around the Guthrie, we couldn't miss the nearest exterior option, Kindee. A one-minute stroll away, Kindee is likely a tough table to land pre-show, so a reservation seems wise. One was not needed on this cold, quiet Monday in the city. We started with fried spring rolls, consisting of three cut diagonally in halves. Crisp and tasty, with a touch of sweet and sour sauce nicely offsetting the crunchy cabbage and onions. (I proceeded to slather the sauce on my last two portions and ate like it was my last meal, but no apologies - they were that good.) We tried just two entrees, both excellent, the pineapple fried rice and the ginger salmon. The fried rice had big chunks of pineapple and delicious dried cranberries. I felt the added pork wasn't the best as it dried out a bit in the process, but overall a great fried rice dish. The salmon was excellent, prepared a perfect medium rare. Either could feed 2-3 diners. Overall, a very good experience, with prompt service and great food. Sadly, only beer and wine are offered, but the selection was more than adequate. My wife and I split the Beef Laab (spicy, sweet, delicious), Masaman Curry (which had a depth of broth that literally drive us to drink the last bits from the bowl) and the Moo Krob Prik Pao (crispy pork belly in a fried chili paste), which is as good as food I've had in Malaysia. There is seating outside where you can enjoy the good Thai food and the gorgeous Stone Arch scenery. Take a walk around the neighborhood and see the Mississippi River after your meal.
