Surprisingly we were the only patrons during dinner on a Saturday, however, plenty of people came in for their take always. The cream cheese rolls were delicious! Came out hot, crispy, and creamy. However, the dishes to follow were too salty and bland. Maybe we're spoiled given our recent trip from Thailand. Then seeing previous reviews made it clear it's hit or miss here.

    Fresh Spring Rolls

As you can see my spring rolls only have 2 pieces of shrimp and are entirely filled with lettuce . I picked this option over another dish for protein and I think it's actually ridiculous that I paid for this. It's not mindful of yal that people already make minimum wage so for my order including tip to be 35$ for 2 things and a drink just to be pure lettuce is very disappointing. The pad Thai was good however there's also microscopic pieces of chicken. It's not worth the price to be honest they're so stingy with the protein ! Not cool. Wish I didn't tip.

Excellent food and service. I stumbled upon Thai Pepper by accident when I was in the neighborhood. Even though it is a distance from my home I will gladly ride the bus to dine here again. After looking at several menu options I settled on the Pad Thai with Chicken. A standard Thai dish I thought to use this as my baseline for future visits. The portion was substantial and I knew I would be taking some home for more meals. I squeezed the lime which gave the dish an additional citrus kick. Next time I will also ask for Siracha or chili oil to add to the dish. The overall flavor was good, the noodles were excellent, the chicken just right; I really enjoyed the dish. I was the only person in the restaurant, but several people came in for take-out orders. The music was at a good level. Not too loud or soft, but just right. On my next visit I will order the TomYum Soup. It's a hot and sour soup which is something I enjoy. I will definitely be visiting again.

Stir fry with tomatoes, cucumber, onion and I chose shrimp. My friend ha stir fry too, with chicken.

Very nice place for food, ambience and conversation. Had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised at their menu. You can pick your heat, I had medium (perfect) and my friend had mild (perfect). You order stir fry etc. and then the type of meat. ALL GOOD. Good parking in a busy area. If you are looking for good Thai food, this is the place for you.

Rubbery beef with water in it.... No flavor.... Not simmered in curry sauce.

Wow.... Just had the worst Thai takeout from Thai Pepper.... No wonder it's empty. I ordered takeout before and it was ok but not any more.... Pad Thai thrown together with giant egg chunks. Rama Curry with Beef that was disgusting.... Nothing was simmered in the curry sauce. The beef was tasteless with no sauce, vegetables barely cooked and cold, again not simmered in sauce. They put the ingredients in a bowl and put thick, cold curry sauce on it.

Thai pepper is an awesome spot tucked into a bit of a corner on Robert Street. The food was outstanding, I got the beef Pad Thai, medium spice level, and it was perfectly prepared. The spice level was good, not insanely hot, but definitely present and added some nice flavor. The veggies seemed crunchy and fresh, and the beef was nicely seasoned. The lime on the side finished it off with a perfect tangy kick. The online order system was super easy, and I was able to pick it up my order through their drive thru, which was also super smooth and easy. The pricing was very fair, and the portions were large, which I loved. The best part of all - they gave me a free tea with my order, which I believe was berry flavor. It had a lychee berry on the bottom which was a fun little touch. Definitely check out Thai Pepper if you're in West St. Paul!

Sitting on their little patio (there's only a couple spots to park in back if you choose this unless you walk here).

Horrible. Tasteless. We order "medium" as we enjoy spice, it was a Minnesota mild at best. Will never be back.

We began with the Roasted Cashews, which were perfectly seasoned and addictive. For mains, the Red Curry was rich, complex, and comforting, but the star of the show was undoubtedly the Pineapple Fried Rice. Hands down, the best version we have ever had--perfectly balanced sweetness and savory depth. The drink pairings were spot on: I enjoyed a lovely glass of Pinot Noir that complemented the spice beautifully, while my partner had a crisp, cold Sapporo. The service is friendly. We were greeted shortly after entering. The restaurant was fairly busy, with many others dining in, and many takeout orders coming in as well, but we were seated right away! Several employees checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying our food throughout our dining experience! They have many vegetarian and gluten free options. They also have some vegan options or items that can be made vegan upon request! We had the cream cheese wontons as an appetizer! The filling was very smooth and creamy and slightly sweet. We also had pad see yew with tofu and pad thai with mock duck. The servings are generous and each entree can easily last for 2 meals. They include a lot of the protein of choice, which I greatly appreciate. Some thai restaurants ask you for your desired level of spice, but we weren't asked here. They were mild (no spice) by default. The pad see ew had a savory, slightly sweet flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the Chinese broccoli had a nice little crunch. The pad thai had a good balance of sweet, salty, and savory. For dessert we had the mango sticky rice! The mango wasn't particularly ripe, but the coconut milk provided the perfect amount of sweetness. I enjoy Nong's Thai and would recommend it!

The Beef Rendang was a delightful mix of spice, herbs, coconut, and tamarind. The beef was tender and the broth was perfectly rich! The space was really cute and while busy - it had a calming vibe. Our waiter Nick - brought us a little juice shot to get the night started and helped us navigate the menu. He made recommendations on dishes he recommended an even suggestions on how much to order for our group. He also came to our table right away when he heard there was only one mango fish left for the night so we could put in the order! I'm so thankful because that was one of the top dishes of the night. We ended up ordering 8 different dishes and one duplicate so that everyone could have one of the dumpling style apps. It was enough food though I could've sampled everything on the menu. My favorite was the bucatini which was a fabulous blend of flavors and a healthy portion. My husband thought the stand out fish was the basil wings. The sauces that came with the dishes were out of this world. I don't think we left a drop behind. It was worth getting extra rice just to enjoy it all. The menu had a lot of gluten free options and some dairy free options which was great for an inclusive family style meal. Nick was so helpful in making drink recommendations and answering any questions our group had - especially because there were a lot of new to us ingredients on the menu. He was outstanding and made our night!

I like closer to a thicker sauce for coconut curry. Usually the Thai places that have more watery coconut curry sauces just hits a little lower & it def shows. Amazing Thai has this same issue lol. Now, this place too... I feel lost without a fav Thai place in Minne lol. The string beans were crunchy in the papaya salad which was great but the entire sauce tasted like MSG & lacks the Lao shrimp paste flavor although it was more grey since I did order the Lao style but not enough shrimp paste flavor as it should have.
