Thai Curry House is so tasty that I will go out of my way when visiting the Twin Cities just to eat here. Although a native West Coaster, I know live on the Iron Range, and getting to eat a variety of good ethnic food (Thai being a favorite) is at least a good 2.5 to 3-hour drive for me now. Even with all of the options the Twin Cities area presents, I will ALWAYS opt for this place if I'm craving Thai. I love the consistency of the food being amazing, the comfortable ambience, the friendly staff, and of course, the free parking. Favorites? Tom Kha Coconut soup and Massamun Curry (chicken). The Spicy Noodles and Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice are HUGE winners, too. Come hungry, because the portions are huge, and I am here for all of it! An interesting thing of note is that on all of my visits, I have never been asked for a spiciness preference level. Yet, the food always comes out delicious and at a perfectly spiced level. My young son, who does not like spicy food at all, has loved every dish (advertised as non-spicy) he has tried here. The prices are extremely reasonable, especially given the portion sizes. I honestly cannot sing enough praises about this restaurant, and I hope to always be able to visit when I'm in the area. Thank you for giving this West Coaster a taste of all of the good (ethnic) restaurants I'm missing! read more

My son still loves the Thai Fried rice here! But prices have been creeping up, so we don't come as often as we used to. I do love the simplicity of their online ordering option since I can just easily pick up an order on my way home from work without minimal waiting. Ambiance is unique but outdated, so we always get take out instead of eating in. read more

Thai Curry House - Thai Near Me - Burnsville, Minnesota

Was in the mood for Thai noodles and came across Thai Curry House. Online ordering was easy and convenient. I ordered the pad Thai curry and the drunken noodles. The pad Thai curry was full of flavor and had lots of toppings. It would have been even better with a lime like I've had at other places but the flavor was still good. The drunken noodles were bland but packed with veggies. Adding a little soy sauce at home helped boost the flavor. It's advertised as a spicy dish but did not have any spice to it. It would be nice to pick a spice level when ordering take out since I think a little spice would help. I'd get the pad Thai curry next time and skip the drunken noodles read more

Just recently discovered this place as I don't usually travel to Burnsville. I came with a group of five and was amazed by this tiny team delivering amazing food. I got the shrimp pad thai; it was excellent and very authentic. Definitely two thumbs up from this Asian and worth the trip!!!The ambience is actually pretty decent for being in a strip mall! read more

The food was pretty good, but the wait and service was extremely slow. We ordered for takeout and our food was very delayed. In addition, the chicken was very dry and tough. read more

I try to love this place because it's a Thai restaurant so close to my work so I find myself justifying their food. I've only ordered food to go until today. And after today, to go is definitely the preferred method if I'm REALLY craving Thai food at work. Their flavors are fine, but nothing exciting. More on the bland side compared to other Thai restaurants. But it'll fulfill a craving. I've tried their Thai basil fried rice, a curry (don't remember which one- wasn't memorable), pad Thai, Tom yum, and egg rolls. Spice level tip: if you like mild with a tiny kick you have to order at least a 3/5. A 2 seems like no spice and 3 was just a tiny kick, a tiny kick might even be too strong of a description. So on top of their mediocre food, their service was very upsetting. She even knew her service was awful because she kept justifying her rushing us because she's the only one there and has to do everything. I would understand if we were a needy table, or were taking an excessive time to order, but that wasn't the case. I was dismissing her not welcoming behavior in the beginning, but you can only take so much. She gave us the regular menus, came back in 2 mins and asked if we were ready. I asked if they had the lunch specials for dining in. She glared at me, grabbed the lunch specials menu and upsettingly put them on the table. From then on, we would like at each other any time we had to communicate with her. She would cut us off as we are ordering or asking questions. And it wasn't just us, every person that walked in the door, she was just as cold. Yelling from the back to the front door, give me 5 minutes. From other reviews, this seems to be a regular occurrence. Would I go there again? Yea, it's convenient and the prices aren't bad for a Thai restaurant. The lunch specials are pretty good deal. Would I crave the food from Thai Curry House? Nope. read more

My husband and I visited Thai Curry House on Friday night for dinner. We got there around 5:30 or 5:45, so before the dinner rush. We walked in and greeted with your typical Thai restaurant atmosphere. We then proceed to wait for a table for almost 10 minutes, not a great start. Once we were seated, it was clear the one waitress was overwhelmed, and clearly understaffed. We ordered our food right away and it was came out pretty fast. However, we also ordered beer and that came after our appetizer and with our entrees, which was disappointing. We ordered egg rolls (great flavor but luke warm), chicken pad Thai (lacked sauce and flavor - very bland), beef drunken noodles (lots of meat and decent flavor), and chicken cashew fried rice (the best dish we had!). At the end of our meal, the one waitress apologized for the bad service which was nice she recognized it was bad, but because the dishes were lacking sauce and flavor, I won't be returning to Thai Curry House. read more

Stopped in for an early dinner. We thought we'd beat the rush. We were met with a rushed hello and sat quickly at a table that could've been dusted (along the condiment side) and cleaned a tad more as the table was a little sticky. Their menu is extensive! So much to choose from. We ordered: Laab chicken Pad Thai shrimp Thai basil fried rice Spicy noodles All of the noodle dishes were slightly over cooked so the noodles were a bit soggy which was unfortunate. But they were still tasty so I ate them! The spicy noodles are my favorite (would be a 10/10 if cooked right!). The basil fried rice was great, and the Laab was great, just wish there was less lettuce mixed in but that could be personal preference. The place itself leaves a lot to be desired. It's dusty, drab, and dated. They do have a cute little nook for people to sit on the ground. Overall, I'd say it's worth a stop in just for the amazing flavors in their foods, if you're in the area. I wouldnt make a special trip from afar for this place though. read more

I only get to-go from here, but they do have a nicely decorated dining area. Kao Peak. Enough said. Delicious from here, and I appreciate that they do not use the broth that they cook their noodles in (you can always tell from the starch content in the broth - it being thicker or thinner). It's in a weird strip mall so easy to miss. read more

This is an amazing restaurant. The food is so good but the service really just makes you so mad because they really ruined the experience for us we went there as vegetarians and they're just saying oh this isn't good, this isn't good, don't try this, like do you want us to eat there? Fresh. Tasty. We ordered Green and Red Curry, egg rolls, and cream cheese wontons take-out. The curries both had a nice little kick of heat, and the chicken and veggies were fresh and tender. It's been too long since we've ordered from here. We won't wait as long for next time. read more

This place was phenomenal! We enjoyed the red Curry with all of the fresh veggies. Huge portions and fair prices. They don't skimp on the beef or chicken like some places do. The cream cheese wontons were some of the best ones yet, yum. We only went here one other time for the lunch buffet, but I don't think they do that anymore. It was super busy on a Friday night, but it was worth the wait! We'll definitely be going back to try some other dishes. They offer a large menu and it all sounded good. read more

I tried a few many in Florida and this was my 1st time here and I absolutely loved it, I asked shrimps for my pad thai and the flavor was AMAZING. I am thankful for this new place in the neighborhood. Ordered pad Thai and red curry and both were absolutely delicious! The seasoning and spice levels were perfect. The quantity was great. The inside of this restaurant is clean, well lit and the menu has options for people looking for choices. I chose to order the tofu Tom Yum soup (large, 6.95) and the Drunken Noodles with beef (10.25). Pricing is very competitive. I specifically requested that there be no mushrooms in either of the dishes- that was accommodated no problem. But I was presented with both dishes at the same time, which surprised me- I started in on the Tom Yum which had cubes of tofu throughout, but was pretty much broth and had no spice at all. I enjoyed the soup, but was very surprised at the tentative nature of spice provided- close to a zero. The noodles were tagged with an asterisk as spicy- it was a bad night as this dish also had zero level of spice. The dish was tasty but I have to point out that either the cut of beef they were using was tough or it was horrifically overcooked. I didn't eat any more of the beef at all. Price is really competitive, I was wondering if they do a lot of take out but if you want spicy I'm not sure this is the place for you. read more

Restaurant is under staffed. We stood by the door for five minutes before even being greeted. Ordered Sticky Rice 2x, Papaya Salad, Chicken Wings, Cat Fish Curry, Egg rolls, and wonton soup. Was severely disappointed that they served sticky Rice in a extremely small container and it wasn't even filled. It was two thinly scooped servings into the plastic bag, and then microwaved. The sticky rice was very hard and lumpy. The papaya salad was limp and sour, definitely not fresh and so disappointing. The Spicy Catfish curry was not spicy at all. It was a few breaded cat fish pieces with lots of vegetables. Very disappointed in the dish. My kids ate the chicken wings, wonton soup, and egg rolls. They seemed to really like them. Unfortunately, due to short staff, we decided against ordering more egg rolls for take out. Our receipt was charged automatically 18 percent gratuity. Overall, we'll never return. read more

I wish half stars were available because I'd like to give them another half star, but due to services issues I really can't justify a 4-star here. First of all, before I talk about the less than positive aspects of my first visit here, I want to cover the positives. Atmosphere:. Cute place, cute menu covers (textured fabric with ribbon and a silver elephant), and an overall calm and relaxing environment. Food:. Very tasty! We started with the "amazing" Thai egg rolls which were quite delicious. Crunchy, meaty, with my favorite part....bean thread noodles. The sauce was a little sweet but flavorful. For the entrees I had the Panang Curry with chicken, and my husband had the Cashew Chicken. Both were quite good with nice quality chicken and crunchy, fresh vegetables. They even took the time to cut the carrots, zucchini, and other vegetables in attractive ways. It's a small thing, but added to the dish. The sauce was flavorful, and had a nicely balanced amount of spice. We both ordered a 3 level (1-5 for spice range). It had flavor but wasn't overly spicy either and we like spice. So....the service. I read quite a few reviews that the service was a problem. We found this to be true as well. While the service was very friendly, my husband ended up seating himself along with another couple who waited quite a while before him. The other couple went and got some menus for themselves and gave two to my husband. Then it took over 20 minutes to get someone to take our order and that was after grabbing someone dropping off food to another table. The food came slowly but that was OK, but it also took quite a while to get our check and boxes when we were done. There were only about three other tables with people in the restaurant. I'm not sure if they are doing such a huge takeout business that they pull the floor staff to help with that work, they are just so very short-staffed all-together, or they just don't work effectively, but that being said, if you dine in plan for patience and lots of available time, or just get takeout instead. Despite the service issues though the food is delicious so we will definitely try again! read more

I love the Spicy Noodles! Good portion, good amount of meat and veggies. I only get this dish from here. My spouse has tried the red curry(said it was ok) and yellow curry( said was very good) but lacked in chicken. Best Panang curry. My husband who is a meat eater finished his veggies before the chicken in it. The kombucha pumpkin in it was sweet and sticky how it should be. The broth was spicy too but with a nice depth of flavor. I had the seafood Tom yum where the seafood was not over cooked. The chicken eggrolls were just right and crispy. The shrimp Spring rolls had avocado and mango which made the pricing make sense. read more

We've ordered take out from Thai Curry House and have certainly been satisfied! We've had the yellow curry and the panang curry, both of which taste great. The portion sizes are good and the food has great flavor. We've never eaten there so we can't speak much to that, but service from pickup has been fine, the food just tends to take a while (at least during lunchtime throughout the week) but as long as you plan ahead, it's a satisfying, well-priced meal! read more

Fantastic food and quick service, especially for the burbs. We've been here twice and both times have been great. Atmosphere is clean and calm. You can't go wrong with the Tom Kha Gai and the shrimp fried rice. The shrimp salad is also amazing. The fried rice has raisins and multiple meats with pineapple. The portions are good for 2 people or 1 with leftovers. Spice is hard to gauge in a lot of Thai restaurants but here it is true to name. Mild is mild, hot is hot. Solid Thai place! Boom. Panang Curry. I will be back just for that. The Pineapple Fried Rice was surprisingly really tasty too. We also had the Pad Thai and Cream Cheese Wontons which were ok. Pad Thai could've used a bit more spice. Phoned it in and order taker was clear and concise. They advised 40-45mins; arrived 45min later and it was ready. Happy to have this place nearby! read more

I got the drunken noodles which were supposed to be *spicy* but they were not spicy at all which was a little disappointing. I used the spicy oil on the side which helped add more flavor because the noodles themselves did not have much flavor to them. I also got the amazing Thai eggrolls which were ok. They had a lot of the noodle thread in it and not that much meat so I was not a fan. I should have just ordered pork eggrolls. The service was not very friendly and they seemed to keep rushing us out even though we wanted to order dessert. They just "to go?" and didn't even serve us it there. Which was rude. read more

Some of the best Thai food we have had in Minnesota. Like several of the other reviews mention the service does get busy with take out orders but they are very friendly and work very hard to meet your needs. We ordered the Masaman Curry with chicken and one of the chef's recommendations, the pineapple fried rice. Interesting twist to the Masaman curry was the slices of avocado. Surprisingly the pineapple friend rice was very flavorful. It comes with raisins which almost made me not order it but the raisins had no texture like in a muffin or a cookie. All they did was add just a hint of sweetness. I write this review to remember I enjoyed the fried rice because I may not believe it in the future when I read the description in the menu. The Jasmine hot tea was also tasty. Had a floral scent and as a sugar addict I did not even need to add sugar. Looking forward to returning! read more

Good Thai food, but nothing special to be honest, just like any other Thai restaurant. We went in at about 8:30 on a Saturday, when there wasn't many people in the restaurant. Got seated and got our orders placed, but to my surprise, only one server working. The guy was jolly, recommended some dishes, spoke in French, made conversation, but just a bit slow with his work. We had the mix of everything rolls which were ok, tom yum soup was good spicy but not hot enough. The cheese wontons were good. Also tried their spicy fried rice with chicken (missed salt), drunken noodles with tofu (pretty good) and Panang curry (very yummy). Also had their dessert (mango sticky rice) which is my favorite in Thai restaurant and this didn't disappoint either. Enough parking, decent place and ambience, definitely can try some other dishes here soon. read more

Used to love this place. Tonight I ordered and they said 1 hour to get out items. Had takeout from my friend's favorite Thai place in the hood, and I enjoyed it! The pad thai with shrimp was a LOT of food, I just wish it was saucier as it was on the drier side.
