So good! Quick turnaround time even on a Friday night. Lots of seating in the main room with the gorgeous pink and white flowers, plus a chic patio with warm covered chairs and soft lighting. The meals were delicious, and very substantial. We had the banh mi and vegetable pho, both super fresh and flavorful. Love this cute spot! Happy hour is available here too!

Cute space and I love the winter decorations. The staff were all kind; the service was a bit off but we eventually got everything we ordered. It took us a while to get water and one of the dishes, we asked for chili oil and it wasn't brought to the table when the food came out; it took another while before we were able to get the attention of one of the servers to bring some over. Food wise, we ordered the pandan series crème brûlée, pandan Vietnamese coffee, hot & spicy chicken, dumplings, and the special bun bo hue. The crème brûlée was absolutely amazing; the sugar was a little too burnt, but the creamy part was more of a pudding and not overly sweet, and the flavor was just right. The coffee was also delicious! The chicken was just okay; a bit too sweet for my liking, but my partner really liked it. The dumplings were also delicious. The bun bo hue was a bit salty, but had good flavors - good balance of onion and garlic (and more). I love how much meat this dish had! Overall, I like the food. Maybe it was just an off day? I'd definitely go back to try more.

I went here for my birthday dinner and I had an amazing time! The worker was friendly and helpful! The food and drinks were delicious! Also, the proportion of the food was great! I ordered their winter special Bo kho birria tacos and it was amazing! We went on a Sunday so I was able to find street parking as it wasn't too busy. The inside was pretty cute with the decorations. There were TVs at the bar for people who stopped in for a drink. I love it overall and will be back!

I was craving pho, and this place delivered! We came here for a date night on a Friday evening. I'd made a reservation earlier that day, and I strongly recommend doing so, or else you'll get stuck waiting for a long time. This is not a place for an intimate dinner - the tables are very close together, and the atmosphere is LOUD. But what they lack in nice ambiance they more than make up for in the quality of the food. We started off with the PINA COLADA and RUM PUNCH for drinks. They were... fine. I'd probably get something different next time. We got the EGG ROLLS for our appetizer, and they were some of the best Vietnamese egg rolls I've ever had. Great start to the meal! I ordered the TAI PHO and was blown away by the taste. The broth for the pho was savory, the meat was super tender, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. My husband got the BO KHO BIRRIA TACOS seasonal special and was similarly pleased with his choice. For dessert, we got the SEASONAL CREME BRULEE (the seasonal flavor was ube) and the HONEYCOMB CAKE. Both were delicious, although the creme brulee was not as sweet as you would expect for this dessert. I will say that our food took a while to come out, and our server was not always within earshot when we needed something, but in general I'm very pleased with our dinner here, and I will definitely be coming back.

Spicy Bun Bo Hue Steak and Eggs - Bo Ne

Amazing. Most Viet restaurants have your basic recognizable dishes, pho, banh mi, vermicelli etc. I love that Em Que Viet offers the staples and much more. Bo Ne is one of my favorite dishes and I rarely ever see this on a menu, first time ever was in Duluth and now here. I'm just happy I don't gotta drive 2 plus hours it now. Their spicy bun Bo hue special was also legit. Broth had depth, they didn't skimp on the meats, and extra spicy chili along with shrimp paste was at the ready. This might be my new favorite spot, it's cute, and our server seemed genuinely friendly. I need more peeps so I can go back and order every dish.

The atmosphere in this restaurant is so comforting and welcoming. The manager, Vincent, was so helpful with our orders. The staff were quick and supportive. The food was so delicious. We will definitely be back here and highly recommend!

I stopped by Em Que Viet after Christmas because i saw their Pandan specials online! Street parking was easy to find! We parked on one of the residential streets nearby. I was pleasantly surprised to see they still had their holiday decor up! We arrived a little after noon and were seated right away, but the restaurant did seem busier around 1, with some larger parties having a short wait. Of course since we came for the pandan items, we tried both pandan drink specials! The Vietnamese coffee was good (although for people who haven't had Vietnamese coffee before, it's stronger than a lot of coffee!), although the pandan flavor was much lighter than in the other pandan items. The pandan velvet was lovely though! It was sweet, and you couldn't really taste the alcohol, which is my preferred type of drink! It tasted like Yeo's soy milk of course with a hint of pandan. Their menu has a variety of options which are suitable for different dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options! For food, we had vegetable dumplings, egg rolls, and the vegan roast pork platter. The dumplings contained cabbage, carrots, and shiitake mushrooms. It had a relatively soft filling, which is common for vegetable dumplings, but it had a decent texture and wasn't mushy! 8 dumplings were included so it was a good sized serving, although they definitely feel lighter, and aren't particularly stuffed! I do make vegetable dumplings at home, so I don't think I would get these again. However, these will do the trick if you're craving vegetable dumplings but don't want to go through the effort of making them. The vegetable egg rolls were filled with what I believe is taro, tofu, cabbage, carrots, and bean thread noodles. They had a really good flavor and the filling was firmer compared to the dumplings. You get two thick egg rolls which come sliced in half, so 4 pieces total. They were tasty, and I would recommend trying them! As for the vegan roast pork platter: I would like to start by saying it doesn't taste like roast pork. It is taro based, and definitely tastes like taro! However, the seasoning is similar to char sui seasoning, and they texture certainly mimics roast pork, including the crunchy "skin." I enjoyed the flavor, and I would recommend it as long as you go in with the expectation that it's inspired by the roast pork flavor and texture, but will not actually taste like roast pork. As for the pandan crème brûlée, I would highly recommend it if you enjoy pandan! It was very creamy (of course with the crunchy sugar crust on top) a very prominent pandan flavor. It reminded me of the pandan popsicles I used to always get as a kid but can never find anymore. If you enjoyed the popsicles as well, this will have a very nostalgic flavor for you!

I've been going to Que Viet in Brooklyn center for years and found out about this location so I tried it out. I found street parking pretty easy. Went in and was greeted and sat quickly. Definitely more modern than the location I go to and had a full bar. The table was pretty small and was in a weird location in this small restaurant. Staff was very friendly and helpful with questions I had. I ordered egg rolls, wings, shrimp egg foo Yung, and pho. Everything was super hot when it came out and tasted good. I prefer the egg rolls and wings at the Brooklyn center location but still good. With all the food at the table, it was hard to eat and position properly. Tables are definitely too small if you're going to order a few things and share food. Other than that, great experience. I will probably go back and try the cocktails.

The food was delicious! We ordered a lot--dumplings, cream cheese wontons, garlic wings, egg rolls, and chicken lo mein. I was with a group of three and the appetizers were a great size to split among the table. The sauce on the garlic wings was so good--I added the extra we got in the bowl to my lo mein, and it was the perfect addition. The wings had just the right amount of crispiness too. The restaurant seating is fairly tight, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but we went during a busy time and I didn't mind it. Plus, the booth cushions were extremely comfortable! There's only street parking, and it's a bit tough to find a close spot with the nearby apartments, but nothing out of the ordinary for a neighborhood restaurant. Our server was great, and we really enjoyed trying a new Saint Paul spot.

I recently came to this restaurant with a friend for the first time and would definitely go back! Ambiance 8/10 - Restaurant was very small but well decorated and clean (I didn't take a picture but the bathroom was pretty and well taken care of as well). Unfortunately you are very close to other tables and it can be a little loud so not a super private dining experience. We had six different things from the menu: Shaken Beef - Bo Luc Lac 8.5/10 First off, the beef was DELICIOUS - I am not someone who orders steak typically at a restaurant but this was so tender and delicious (I only wish there were more pieces in it). This dish was more visually appealing as well as better tasting in my opinion than the salad. The flavor was simply very fresh but savory at the same time because of the beef. The cucumbers and other veg were nice and crisp - I enjoyed having watercress as the main green in the salad as I haven't really had it often. I am not certain what all the flavors were but thought there may have been mint in it as well. Shrimp & Pork Banana Flower Salad 7/10 I liked this dish but felt like it was kind of one note and I would have been overwhelmed if it had been my whole entrée. It was difficult to pick out the different ingredients because the sweet and fishy dressing kind of took over. I am not sure if the lettuce was supposed to be used as a wrap or was simply a garnish but I felt like the 'salad' should've been served with rice or maybe more direct instructions to use the lettuce as a wrap. Sesame Chicken 8/10 A classic: I love sesame chicken but that also means I love Hy-Vee sesame chicken - this batter was more airy than other more fast-casual/quick/service restaurants which I liked but I felt that it could have used more sauce for the large pieces of chicken. Overall good flavor not unlike other sweet sesame chicken. Honeycomb cake 8.5/10 Delicious - mildly sweet with a chewy texture slightly creamy from the coconut milk and I loved the crunchy peanut brittle. This was a fun combination between the mochi-like texure and familiar candy. Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake 8/10 This was the seasonal cheesecake - I was interested to try this because of its virality and how the flavor has taken off everywhere as a dessert flavor. This cheesecake was an individual circular cheesecake with a circlet of crispy knafeh/pistachio/tahini, then topped with a sweet chocolate sauce and strawberries. I loved the concept and liked the flavor but wish it had a stronger chocolate flavor or just more chocolate as the specialty flavors were easily taken over by the plain cheesecake on the bottom. Still yummy though! Lastly I got a drink Pearis By Night 5/10 This was very average. Underwhelming pear flavor - in my opinion this mostly tasted like drinking a dry sparkling wine. I like the concept of the flavor and Asian pear but it did not really come through at all. The color and glitter in the drink was beautiful though and a fun touch. I would not be likely to have it again though.

Smaller venue with a small patio tucked away in the back. Service is friendly. The shaken beef was okay -- I didn't take leftovers home. The state fair cream cheese wontons and eggrolls were delicious. The chow mein was okay but not as good as other places like Mandarin Kitchen. The steamed banana cake is not very sweet, but would hit for anyone who likes desserts that aren't too sweet. The chiffon cake portion was very generous. The soju cocktail was light and fruity.

This is one of my favorite places in the cities. I always get the state fair wontons and then like to switch up the entrees. The cocktails and mocktails are always perfect. I've never had a bad experience, the staff is always great, and the portions are big enough to take leftovers home.

Pho comes out almost immediately which is nice especially if you have places to be. It was fresh, hot, and came with the toppings on the side to add as you please. I'll definitely return! 4 stars due to the main item being sold out and really good pho but not outstanding blow me away good. So I had the House Special #2 Pho whoch included beef steak, flank, tripe, and meatball for $13.95. I also ordered a side of egg rolls for $4. And the Bubble tea for about $4. I'm not sure why the price all of thar somehow became $26 which annoyed me that the fees weren't transparent. Now despite expecting hold in the wall prices, Pho Ca Dao is pricier than expected. I do like the cultural blend of modern and old school, and you see it with the different type people that come in. The staff there was prompt, and unlike my old school favorite in Richardson Texas... the staff to customer ratio was high. So the service was quick and attentive. Now for the pho. I've heard great things about their food but for me it was a miss. We all had pho but the amount of herbs and fresh toppings wasn't sufficient for 6 phos. They were accommodating and gave us additional items we asked for. The calamari was on the greasier end and was bigger than expected. For my palate both the banh mi and pho were lacking in flavor. I put a lot of things into my pho but it just didn't taste like anything to me except for pho powder. The ribeye pho had a generous portion of broth but only like 5 slices of meat. The oxtail stone bowl pho one looked hot and didn't have enough space to add everything in without it overflowing while the other didn't look like the broth was hot enough to cook the noodles. I will say though their ordered drink cups and to-go containers game was top notch. I received a reusable bag with my two banh mis to go instead of a plastic bag. It's probably not somewhere I'd return to unless someone else absolutely had to have it but to each their own.
