Here's your review with clean grammar and flow: The service was awesome! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The place is nice and clean. The food came out quickly and tasted so fresh. My husband ordered sautéed rice with shrimp and shrimp egg rolls, and I had the Meat Lover Pho with beef tripe, meatballs, tendons, and steak strips. It was so good!

Meh, this place was not that good. They didn't skim off the oil completely which made for a heavy and thick tasting broth instead of the light and clear true pho broth that I expected. Also, they probably put in a bit too much sugar to the broth causing it to taste oddly sweet when it should have been more savory. I don't know if it's because they are trying to Americanize their recipe to Minnesota-style tastes but this was not it for good pho. Going to keep looking and try other spots the next time I am town.

Food : great! Service: great! Ambiance: clean and lots of seating This review is for 2 separate orders. The first order was: cream cheese wontons and the grilled chicken banh mi. Both were delicious! The cream cheese wontons were large, crunchy, and had good filling. The banh mi was really good too! The chicken was tender and had good flavors. The second order was: Pho tai Bo vien Bon Bo hue (which is new on their menu) Grilled pork banh mi Fried chicken wings Grilled pork spring rolls (nem nuong) Bun dac biet (with grilled shrimp and grilled pork) I'm not a huge fan of their pho broth, but the noodles and beef were good. Their bon bo hue was good! The broth was delicious and noodles and beef were great. Their nem nuong spring rolls hit the spot too. They had good flavor and crunch. Lastly, their bun dac biet was good! Everything was flavorful and tasty. The only thing I would've liked differently was the nuoc mam (fish sauce). I think it could've been sweeter.

I had many Vietnamese food. I came here based on Yelp reviews near my hotel stay. The rice dish I ordered was okay. Nothing to brag about. Tasty egg rolls, but the shells were too thick. The pork meat was okay. I like mine extra crispy and dried.

I've been to this location a number of times and keep forgetting to write a review. Parking is rough, but it's Dinkytown, parking is hard in this area in general. I think they've upgraded this location as of lately, new tables and the new flooring looks great. Service is usually pretty quick and I usually get my food quickly. I usually get the pho, but this time I wanted to try the new Bon Bo Hue and it's delicious! Very clean and fresh beef flavor. And they did not shy away on the meat! Lots of noodles that were nice and soft.

Pho Mai is one of my favorite spots in Dinkytwon the flavors never disappoint service is fast . I love a warm comforting bowl of pho or a grilled pork bahn mi filled with vegetables and the perfect amount of mayo and the baguette has the perfect crunch. I love the remodel at this location! Very cute and clean

I love pho and I thought this place was mediocre. Fast service and great location. Street parking can be a pain but we lucked out right in front. I wasn't a fan of the egg rolls but they do give you a lot of broth for the pho.

For being in Dinkytown this place has quite an updated feel which I appreciate. I got the broken rice entree and it was very large and generous which is always good in my book. I thought it was delicious. Definitely want to come back here and try their other menu items. As it is in Dinkytown you will need to be prepared to find paid street parking.

This place was recommended by my Lyft driver, and it was delicious. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and it had everything I wanted my bowl of pho to be. Large portion sizes, perfectly cooked tendon, and soul-warming broth. They also included a large plate of veggies to add (all the typical stuff - basil, bean sprouts, lime, jalapeño). The establishment was clean and they had a good playlist rotating. A very enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back for more.

Went during lunch time during the week They were busy and efficient- they know the drill We went to the counter to order/ pay Found a table and our food order came shortly after Wait staff friendly and polite I mentioned they were busy but it wasn't loud like some places people were to busy eating the delicious hot food ! Will be back !

Service was absolutely excellent. Staff was attentive and friendly. Plus, the food came out really fast. However, my combination beef pho was only moderately hot temp wise I'm guessing because there wasn't enough room in the small bowl for the hot broth and it was a little oiler and sweeter in flavor than I'm used to. I did love their fried Vietnamese egg rolls. Crispy deliciousness!

Hands down the best place for pho near the University of MN. If parking wasn't such a hassle I would go more often.

Well thinking I would go to Pho Hua instead, I pulled intonthe Shuang Hur Grocer's parking lot thinking I'd grab a few things before heading north on Eat Street. Then I saw signs on the Shuang Hur building for a (new to me) Vietnamese joint in the same building. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! My Huong is an 8-top hole in the wall across the parking lot from the rear of El Nuevo Mariachi Restaurant. The place is homely, small, but brightly lit and plenty of day light through the picture windows overlooking Eat Street. It's a big contrast to Pho 79 type places that are dim and short on ambience. The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. I was seated right away, was greeted by a cheery Vietnamese lady, and ordered Hu Tieu Bo Khu (Beef Stew Noodle Soup.) It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor. There were other menu items like Curry Chicken pho and a Stewed chicken rice dish I'd have to return and try!

No-frills, wood panels for days, and the "casual" service your get at the best asian restaurants. My wife got the pho she'd been craving and it was decent. There aren't any "great" pho places in MN so can't be too picky. The hot and sour soup was huge. The picture doesn't do it justice,. That's a serving spoon in the picture! It didn't have much tamarind, was a bit sweet, and an interesting choice of okra; some of which were a bit slimy (as okra can get). The tofu was perfectly fried and had a nice bouncy texture. I much prefer Thanh Luong's version but for the price it's definitely worth it. Overall it's a great value and I will always prefer mom-and-pop operations over the sterile, corporate "industrial chic", neon-sign spots that are all the rage.

My opinions are just as much rooted in the emotion attached to each bite. We live in Texas but spend lots of time in the Twin Cities. I'm a vegetarian, so I put off going to Diane's Place because it felt like the options for me were relatively limited. Boy, am I kicking myself for waiting! I told my wife after our first meal at Diane's Place this weekend that I compared the first bite (which happened to be the green scallion croissant) to my responses to certain music. As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious. Given Diane's background in pastry, don't skip dessert! We loved our experience so much on Sunday for dinner that we very quickly made a brunch reservation for Tuesday. Connor and Simon were extraordinarily helpful and knowledgeable about the menu.
