I had pho here for the 1st time. The broth is more on the salty side vs other places. The noodles were over cooked mush, the meats are fresh. I wouldn't get the pho here again. Way too salty. Not worth the price. The sesame chicken was ok. Small pieces. Not worth the price. I would only come back here for the grilled pork banh mi. They make the best here. This place used to be my go-to as a student, but I feel like the prices keep increasing whereas the service continues to be brisk and lukewarm. It's clearly staffed by part-time student workers who could care less about any hospitality (which is fair), but I think $10 for a sandwich and $9 for egg rolls is just a bit too steep for this student area. I think this place is Just "fine." Miss the previous cheaper, smaller sizes of pho on the menu. Hits the craving for viet food when you're on campus, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the pho. Meh, this place was not that good. They didn't skim off the oil completely which made for a heavy and thick tasting broth instead of the light and clear true pho broth that I expected. I don't know if it's because they are trying to Americanize their recipe to Minnesota-style tastes but this was not it for good pho. The cream cheese wontons were large, crunchy, and had good filling. The banh mi was really good too! The chicken was tender and had good flavors. The second order was: Pho tai Bo vien Bon Bo hue (which is new on their menu) Grilled pork banh mi Fried chicken wings Grilled pork spring rolls (nem nuong) Bun dac biet (with grilled shrimp and grilled pork) I'm not a huge fan of their pho broth, but the noodles and beef were good. I've been to this location a number of times and keep forgetting to write a review. Parking is rough, but it's Dinkytown, parking is hard in this area in general. I think they've upgraded this location as of lately, new tables and the new flooring looks great. Service is usually pretty quick and I usually get my food quickly. I usually get the pho, but this time I wanted to try the new Bon Bo Hue and it's delicious! Very clean and fresh beef flavor. And they did not shy away on the meat! For being in Dinkytown this place has quite an updated feel which I appreciate. I got the broken rice entree and it was very large and generous which is always good in my book. Service was friendly and efficient given the crowd. I tried the broken rice and pork dish and the pho special (dac biet). We also ordered the appetizer sampler and fried rice. The pho was pretty good; I didn't have to add anything to the broth in order to get it to my liking. Fried rice was ok. The meat on the rice plate was tender and well seasoned, and I liked the large portion of cucumber and carrots that came with it. However, the rice was a bit too moist. On the appetizer plate, I liked that the spring roll came with a crunchy egg roll wrapper inside for extra crunch and flavor, but I felt that maybe more meat and less noodles would have made it better. Parking was a bit of a challenge on Sunday evening , but we got lucky on our second loop around the block and got a spot right around the corner. The interior was bright and full of students and service was prompt. We ordered the Eggrolls, Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong and Pho, all of which was very tasty. The food of Pho Mai is the highlight of it. I've eaten here a dozen times, and a dozen times I've been more than satisfied! I especially recommend the spicy chicken and any opportunity to get your hands on their egg rolls; they're wonderfully savory in their own ways, and every item tastes refreshing. Service is alright, like the ambiance. Servers will smile if you're nice and they'll get to you eventually, but don't expect much friendliness. Ordered pho tofu and veggie spring rolls with extra peanut sauce. Broth was separate from the rice noodles and tofu so it wouldn't get soggy. Definitely hit the spot. Loved the two veggie spring rolls and peanut sauce. Another favorite of mine. Only downside is that I had to call my order in. The online order app kept rejecting four different credit cards I use all the time. Was very frustrating. Thankfully was hungry enough to call it in. Technology is not always convenient. read more

So delicious! I'm seriously obsessed with the pho from here. The house special pho and shrimp spring rolls are my go to order! The pho broth is clean but still flavorful and there all the condiments I need if I want to spice it up- like add chill oil (they even have the option to add this for go to orders). I also found the packing for to go orders to be very well packed and thoughtful. The spring rolls here are definitely unique because most restaurants don't put chives and the crunchy fried eggroll wrapper inside the spring rolls like they do here at Pho Mai which I love! Also the house made peanut dripping sauce that goes with the spring rolls are so good! First time here. Service was quick and the noodles soups were flavorful with distinct tastes for each of the different soups were ordered: pho and wonton noodles soup. I used to go here a lot but since the remodel, prices and service are unreasonable and lacking. The food is decent but you can find several cheaper and better spots for pho. Additionally, one of the servers consistently gets orders wrong and makes the payment process uncomfortable by bringing the card machine to the table and hovering while you pay--creating unnecessary and awkward pressure to tip more. Another pho place I have added to my list! After trying this place, I can humbly say I have been to over 30 pho places. At first, I was originally going to give this place a 4/5 since it tasted like most pho places, but then I thought about it. There was nothing wrong about this place. The pho was delicious, the portion sizes were great, they had fair pricing, there was great costumer service, and the egg rolls were huge. The pho tasted how all good pho should. Pho is a very hard thing to mess up, and this place nailed it! Tastes just how my grandma makes it! I will definitely be coming back whenever I get a pho craving. I think what bothered me the most was the temperature of the food wasn't at its peak. We all know super super hot Pho is the best.
