Combo Pho and Banh Mi and Egg Roles
    Jason K.

My buddy and I hopped on the 18 down Nicollet down to 25th St. to a place I had seen on Yelp after visiting a few Vietnamese places on Eat Street. The establishment was empty when we walked in and it looks a lot larger on the outside. There are about 12 tables, but there were plenty on pre-made banh-mi sandwiches on top of the counter, so I am guessing it is pretty high on the take out menu for workers around here. The menu is pretty large with a bunch of options for pho, banh-mi, the noodle salads, and egg rolls. I ordered a combo pho bowl with egg noodles and my friend got the pork egg rolls and a banh-mi sandwich. We sipped waters and discussed life and about 8 minutes later our food came out. The bowl of soup looked huge and had some bean type sprouts on the side and some HOT! jalapeno pepper slices. I tore up the peppers into the bowl and dumped the additional veggies in as well. Everything I touched for about the next hour or so burned from the the pepper slices. I mean everything. Ahem! The broth was perfectly salty and I added some Sriracha sauce to it. This was some spicy soup after that. My eyes were watering half the time. But a good type of water. There was a big shrimp in there and a couple of hunks of fresh calamari, which had a wonderful rubbery texture. There was also some kind of pork ball I think, cut up in there and slices of pig as well. With the egg noodles, it was a solid bowl of pho. Not the best I have had, but it was pretty darn good. My only complaint was that the noodles were all stuck together, so it was a little tough to eat. #EdinaProblems. I tried a slice of my friends fried egg roll, and it was a solid 10. Super flaky and lots of protein. Good stuff. He also stated that his sandwich tasted healthy and flavorful. The service was awesome and our check was about $10 a piece after tip. Not too bad at all. Very fair. While we were waiting, the place filled up and patrons were swiping banh-mi off the deli counter. Seems like this is a popular place for a great banh-mi $4 take out sammy. Great lunch place to stop on a Tuesday afternoon during lunch. They got us in and out in about 35 minutes. Gotta love that!

We came here this past weekend to try it out. Weren't that hungry, so we only got the spring roll with pork and noddles within it and the pork bahn mi sandwich. Spring roll was ok, not the best I've had, not the worst. The bahn mi sandwich bread was delicious. It looked thick but it really isn't. The top is super crispy, the middle part of soft, perfection. (Bread was better than Lu's sandwich). The contents were great as well, but as I am a meat eater, I just wished there's more yummy pork stuffed into the sandwich. just wished there's an option to "add more meat for $1" or something like that. Service was good and prompt, I will definitely come back for the bahn mi sandwich again and will try something else on the menu the next time.

After eating at Jasmine Deli, today, I thought my meal was just OK. The food just fell a little flat. More about it: Café Sua Da: Serviceable and packs a punch, but I think the coffee could be a bit stronger. 3/5 Goi Cuon: Although the dish was presented beautifully, I wish there were more flavors coming from the peanut sauce and spring rolls. Especially the pork. It just tasted old and dry. 2/5 Hu Tieu Dac Biet: The broth was fine, but I think it could've used some dried shrimps or scallops to give it more of an umami flavor. It's okay. 2.5/5 Prices were very affordable (I paid under $17 total) and the service was solid. With some positive experiences long ago in the past, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and rate them a solid 3 stars. I hope the food improves. It's practically a landmark on Nicollet.

I've had Vietnamese sandwiches before, but this place rocks! They have inside and outside seating, and their sandwiches are pre-made so you can grab and go...can't get better than that. They're $3.75 each, and then there are also some pre-made packages of spring rolls for about $4.00. Today was my first visit and I got both, but I should've gotten just one because they are both SUPER filling. I am very impressed. The service was also very nice. I will be back for many more luncheons here.

Hands down my favorite place for banh mi. The veggies are fresh, the meat is perfect, and the bread is perfectly crusty. Their egg rolls are delicious too, perfectly crispy.

Unexpected gem on eat street. I always drive by this place but never thought to go in. I finally convinced my husband to come with me even though he wanted Lu's! We ordered the spicy dumplings to share. They were soooo good and crispy. I got the curry chicken noodle salad. Seriously amazing. I've never tasted anything like this before. My husband got the ban mhi and said it was great too! We'll be back! Great service, cute place and great prices.

Delicious food and wonderful service at such a low price! I wish I lived closer so I could go every day!! I'm a vegetarian and had yet to find a pho I loved but this was it! The caramelized shallots add so much more depth to the flavors. Their broth is perfection. The egg roll vermicelli salad is another favorite. I have a really hard time picking between the pho and salad. So I've had both a couple of times. The egg roll is crispy on the outside and filled with deliciousness of veggies that taste fresh and have a nice balance without being too heavy or greasy. The dressing is light and refreshing and helps the dish come together in a lovely harmony. Love this place!

    Fried Tofu noodle salad!

I was craving Asian food after eating countless enchiladas over the past week, I needed a place close by and it needed to relatively cheap. I've only ever walked by this place and finally decided to enter. Though the bare walls made me not want to stay for a sit down meal, I was instantly greeted by smiles and a menu for a take out order. After ordering I was offered water while I waited, always appreciated. I waited for about 7 minutes for my Fried Tofu Noodle Salad and Shrimp Spring rolls, not bad at all and for roughly $11 I was feeling good about my choice especially the weight when it was handed to me! I got home and opened my styrofoam container to reveal some beautiful looking food! I don't know if I've ordered a noodle salad before, but it was awesome! The vinaigrette that came with it was phenomenal, I could have ate that by itself. The tofu was cooked great with some lovely onions and very fresh greens! Very good, though I don't know about completely authentic, the noodles struck me as spaghetti-like right away, and the flavors not as in depth as other Vietnamese food. But I'm in no way in expert in this, just an opinion and I would get this again. The spring rolls I could leave, not my favorite, they are pretty small with no basil or mint, which left it kind of flavorless and the sauce was a little too sweet for me. (I dipped them in the vinaigrette!) I'm excited to try the Bahn Mi, they were staring at me from the front counter ready to be eaten by someone else! I was almost tempted to add it to my order, but I decided to wait until my next trip.

Amazing noodle salad with meat and egg roll. Crisped to perfection with a perfectly spiced sauce and fresh veggies.
    Jake R.

Fantastic food, prompt and friendly service, and extremely inexpensive. The noodle salads taste fresh and have great flavor - especially the meat/egg roll. The roll is crispy and the sauce is spiced to perfection. The pho is full of flavor and not too fishy tasting. The staff is friendly and prompt with their service - kept my water glass full the whole time! Highly recommended!

Great meal and a great experience! I love little family run places & Jasmine Deli is definitely that. The service was super friendly- great job explaining things we were unfamiliar with. I had a Lychee Bubble Tea, potstickers and the Mock Duck Pho. The bubble tea was not too sweet- just the way I like it. It was my first mock duck experience. I'll probably pick a different protein in the future, but it's definitely nice for vegetarians to have so many options. Be prepared to wait for a table during meal times and bring cash!

Food is always good and service is great. It has been a long time since I've been here and I'm glad to see they still have a lot of options available, even weekend specials. I had to taste the banh cuon since that is a weekend specials and not easily found in restaurants. It did not disappoint. The nuoc mam was perfect. Filling was good but I wish there were more fresh herbs for garnish. Bun Bo hue was filled with meat and protein!! I can't believe how much was in there. I normally don't like a ton of meat but this was so tender I ate it all. Pho was good. Broth had a strong star anise flavor but I like that. The mi hoanh ton soup was good but not the best. The wontons were huge! I appreciate the amount of protein in it. Cream cheese wontons flavor was good, wish there was more than 4 pieces per order though. Nem nuong serving size was pretty small. Wish we would've ordered the nem nuong spring rolls instead. Bubble tea tasted like strawberry milk, very sweet. Not my favorite but my daughter gave it 10/10. Salmon rice was good, we were able to add eggs for $4. The chili oil is very hot so be careful how much you add. 4% discount if you pay in cash. Gratuity added for parties of 5 or more. Easy to grab to go at the front if you are in a rush. We grabbed more to go after we ate too. The tri color dessert was ok, not my favorite but I liked the sweetness of the coconut milk in there. We grabbed a banh mi that was ready to go and that was good! Bread was crispy, but maybe too much bread ratio to filling. Banh bao was massive too, expensive for $8.

The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor.
