I came here for dinner because I had work related events in the state. I dont have any pho in Madison that is catered for the viet taste bud. I lived in the Houston and Garland Texas area all my life where there is a large vietnamese population... and for the past 5 months, I have just been exploring Minnesota and Wisconsin and Illinois for vietnamese food. This evening... I was just craving pho. lets start with the ambiance. Its a pretty hip place once you get inside. I do like the cultural blend of modern and old school, and you see it with the different type people that come in. The staff there was prompt, and unlike my old school favorite in Richardson Texas... the staff to customer ratio was high. So the service was quick and attentive. Now for the pho. I went with the Dac Biet because I never know sometimes if I will get tough precut preprocessed meats... not in this case. I felt that all the ingrediants were fresh...and catered toward the old school viet palette, which I thank you. I understand a lot of pho house have to stay in business and cater to the local palette but this one was spot on. You can just breath in the right mixture of ingrediants. The bowl was reasonably priced, and the portions were similar to what I am used to having in Houston. It was fantastic as I scarfed it down to quick and forgot to take a picture. However, all the pictures that I have seen associated with this location are accurate. Overall, I would come back here. I am interested in trying their Stone pho next time as th emenu advertisement made it look tasty. read more

I tried their bon bo hue, the bot chien (pan fried rice cake, and taro milk tea. The bon bo hue is okay. It was lacking some heat and shrimp paste flavor. I liked the noodles and the meat being tender. The rice cakes were crunchy, however, the dish fell a little bit flat because the egg was so thin. But eating it with sauce was pretty good. I absolutely love Stone Pho they never disappoint. The Blaine location was closed, so we went to the Roseville/St. Paul location, and wow... it was so unbelievably busy. Think Black Friday, but for noodles . We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, which honestly wasn't bad considering how packed it was. The food was delicious, as always. The broth was well-seasoned and flavorful, my spring rolls were yummy, and the wontons were delicious. Service was great despite the crowd, which I really appreciated. The only downside is that this location felt a bit too busy for my preference. The ambiance made me feel like I needed to hurry up and eat because people were waiting to be seated right next to our table. I personally prefer the Blaine location for a more relaxed experience but the food quality here is still top-tier. read more

I've tried a lot of pho and I have to say, this was one of the best - definitely unexpected to find in Roseville, MN. I got a pineapple smoothie (nice it had real chunks of fruit in it) and the ribeye and brisket pho. The pho broth was fantastic, flavorful and (at least my bowl) very rich and fatty. I love a fatty broth so I really enjoyed it. Nice they also have chili oil for dipping. Restaurant was crowded when I came later on a weeknight. Lots of to-go orders too but I'm glad I ate there as I feel like pho tastes way better eating at a restaurant versus via takeout. Service was prompt and friendly. Dare I say best bowl of soup I've had Ina while. I DO DARE. Seriously a great find! Was just leaving a job site and stopped by before heading back o the office in St Paul. The place itself is very modern, clean and tons of natural light. Staff was immediately attentive and had a seat right away although it was filling up quick over my lunch. I had the Pork broth with Farm chicken (thighs and fatty parts) and glass noodles wow wow wow! Sheer bliss. Stone Pho in Roseville has always been a fantastic option and one of my favorite spots to get pho. The service is always quick and helpful, and the inside of the restaurant looks great. I also like the way they present the water cups and carafes. The food is consistently really good. I highly recommend the chicken wings, they are easily one of the best things on the menu. I have tried a few different pho options here and usually go with the special pho or the stone pho special when I want something a little different. The stone bowl is a really unique touch that I have not seen at any other places in Minneapolis. The broth is rich, the portions are generous, and they give you a good amount of meat in each bowl. I always add extra jalapeños and some of the spicy sauce, which makes it even better. They also have spring rolls and other options if you are not in the mood for pho. I have not tried the iced coffee yet, but that is next on my list. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, it is consistently really good. read more

Heard lots of good things about this spot so had to go check it out! The restaurant was nice, clean and I loved the black and white colors. The place was busy for a Tuesday night, but our food was delivered quickly! I was pleasantly surprised. My husband had the oxtail pho. It came in a sizzling metal bowl and it was absolute perfection. The broth was so delicious! This was one of the best pho we've ever had! I had the Bun Bo Hue and it was also delicious. We also had the fresh spring rolls and the oyster basil chicken wings. This place is so popular during lunch time! I ordered the ribeye pho. It met my expectations - the broth is good, they gave a generous portion of meat, and enough noodle for one full service. One thing I noticed was that they didn't have any cilantro in the soup or on the plate of veggies, either. It was good but did not replace my favorite pho place in the twin cities. The ribeye isn't super tender or flavorful. I feel like a layer of flavor is missing in the broth although I can't pinpoint what it is. Also I didn't like the type of noodle they served. Finally got to try the stone pho here and it was so fun to eat! Even if I think it wasn't worth the $25-$35 for me to get it again, I'm still glad I tried it for the experience. I thought the stone bowl would stay hot like a Korean dolsot but I was surprised it didn't. My sister got the regular pho and her bowl seemed to stay hotter than mines. Still in their soft launch phase when we went they were out of a few items and drinks we were interested in. Definitely will come back when they are more established. The service and atmosphere are quite nice and given the kind of old outdated look of the former restaurant willows gate they have remodeled it nicely. Having said that the food we did have was very good. The pho tasted pretty close to mother in laws homemade pho. The broth is definitely delicious and made fresh. I had the bun bo heo and it was large and delicious. I will probably be having this fairly regularly here. If you live authentic Vietnamese soups this is a great spot. Been twice and it's already in my top 3 MN restaurants. The space is bright and welcoming, if a little crowded, and the staff are always incredibly friendly. Decent sized dedicated parking lot, but it gets crowded in the weekends so get in early. If it were closer I would be here once a week so maybe better it's not! Chrysanthemum tea is one of my favorite things and they do a great job. Gotten it both times and it's the perfect palette cleanser and stomach reset after the heat and richness to follow. The tofu bun cha was the best I've ever had. Really flavorful tofu, perfectly pickled veggies, and nice thin noodles that were just al dente. The salt & pepper squid was star of the show. Great texture, little bit of heat, and not too oily. They weren't rubbery at all and melted in your mouth after the initial QQ. Friend got the oxtail pho and that is a 2 person meal for sure. Served in a fired bowl so that it stays hot with the mixins on the side to cook a la minute. It'll stick to your ribs with all the collagen, for sure. Doing miss out on this spot. Service was fast and attentive but the food is not that good. Portion wise the pho is generous but the soup was more on the bland side. The spring roll had VERY dry tasting pork slices in there. Plenty of seatings inside but make sure you bring a jacket or a sweater because it gets chilly inside. I assume it's because of their stone pho so they have to up the AC, but I could be wrong. It is an honor to be the first to review this location of Stone Pho in Roseville! My first impression of this place was, "Whoa, finally a Pho place in Roseville! And it looks awesome!" This location was plagued by a series of turnovers of unsuccessful restaurants, ranging from Pan Asian to an American Bar. Tucked in Perimeter Drive, yet clearly visible by shoppers at Patina, Turn Style, and Blaze Credit Union, next to Karta Thai. I was excited to learn that this is a second location of Stone Pho of Blaine. Walking up to the place, it was brightly lit, and very inviting. Walking in you are immediately greeted by the incredible aroma of Pho bone broth that has been simmering for hours. Along with the very diverse clientele, it was reminiscent of the old Saigon in Frogtown when they were in the former Long John Silver building: bustling, with full tables of families filled with food, sharing memories and insane food. The bright black and white dining room was as inviting as the outside, with trendy decor and get this: no boxes of takeout containers visible anywhere! There aren't cases of Sriracha and Hoisin lining the hallway to the bathrooms! Someone finally figured it out. I was greeted by a nice hostess and was seated right away. The menu was on point. This is a full on Vietnamese establishment: Pho, Bahn Mi sandwiches, Broken Rice Plates, Vermicilli Salads, along with the obligatory Pad Thai, stir fry dishes, and fried rice. They also have specialty Pho like oxtail, Bun Bo Hue, and even Lobster! Of course there is also bubble tea, and even Fried Sesame Balls and Vietnamese desserts. I saw a menu item I have never seen anywhere else (including places on Eat Street or Frogtown.) Banh Canh Gió Heo is a pork broth dish with thick noodles, quail eggs, pork hock, mushrooms, steamed pork rolls, and fried fish ball. To say that I was impressed is an understatement. I eat a lot of pho, and at one point I did a pho tour review around the city. The best broth hands down was this place at the Hmong Village called Three Ladies, where they made a 16 hr broth. (They're closed.) I'm glad to report that the pork broth here is on par with Three Ladies, and even surpasses MT Noodle and Mandarin (Brooklyn Center), iPho (Frogtown), and the OG's Pho Tau Bay and Quang (Eat Street.) They performed the long simmer and the finishing of the broth perfectly, resulting in a deep long broth that is also popping in fresh flavor. The pork itself was so flavorful that I didn't even ever have to dip it in Hoisin/Sriracha. The quail eggs were perfectly "œuf mollet" to quote the French lol. Well, we have been languishing in NE Minneapolis and Roseville for a proper Pho restaurant. (Sorry, for us purists Hai Hai does not count.) Now we have a gem and a destination! Next time we'll be sure to try the Bun Bo Hue and the Pho Dac Biet! read more

I finally made it into here. Best food I've had in a while. My wife and I just came right in and sat at the juice bar. The entire table sections were full but room at the bar. Within a sec we had ice cold water and our delicious fresh springs rolls came out immediately after. Last bite of those, and bam our chicken wings with garlic fish sauce marinade came out. Best wings I might of ever had. Then our ribeye and brisket pho came. Also top notch, herbaceous, deep broth...truly authentic pho. This has officially become my new favorite pho spot in the Twin Cities! I've been here more times than I can count since they opened at this new location. Their pho broth is rich and perfectly seasoned, and their portions are huge -- I always have leftovers to take home. They have a parking lot and plenty of table and bar seating. Service is fast and friendly and I believe they offer a discount if you pay with cash. Roseville is their newest location. This location is much more spacious, but they're pretty busy. Food is similar to their other location in Blaine, except closer to town. This location is much more clean very nice ambience. The customer service was good except for our waitress who is lacking. We waited like 20 minutes and get our seat. Then after we got in, we step away to the bathroom and then they gave our table away so they have to find us new seat . I would've given it at five, but I'll waitress needs to be better, pretty lazy. We came on a Sunday afternoon for the first time. Had to wait a few minutes, but it was busy. Once seated we were able to order asap and our food came out within 5 minutes! Pad thai was sooo good and shrimp was juicy. My husband loved his pho. Love the bowl and cups used since it kept our water so cold and pho hot! Restaurant was clean, aesthetically pleasing, and friendly staff. Also, there is a ton of outdoor seating as well! Next time I'll try one of their yummy drinks. They had lots of choices. The baguette was warm, crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside. Like eating a crunchy cloud. Good quality ingredients. But it didn't have much flavor, maybe because I asked for it without the paté. The "Vietnamese butter" was a sort of cross between mayonnaise and margarine. Same with the pho. Decided to give their Saint Paul location a try. Good amount of parking spots, with spots both in front and around the back of the building. Ambiance - bright and clean inside. Good use of space with table arrangements allowing for more walking space compared to their Blaine location. When it gets busy, entryway does get a bit tight with congestion but that's a given. Food was mediocre. We ordered: Rice platter - meat was dry, presentation seemed rush. Overall a 7 out of 10. Appetizers were fine. Spring rolls could have been rolled tighter and whatever scissors they used to cut the spring rolls left some sort of residue. Fish sauce chicken wings were bland and lacked flavor, wings seemed old and refried from previous batches. Fries were decent, crunchy and with some sort of aioli mayo. Ordered a tofu banh mi and was super disappointed to find that it was made with pate inside. Brought it to the attention of the server who insisted it was butter, but clearly it was not. They took care of it and removed it from the bill, but those who are intending to order a tofu banh mi - be sure to double check. read more

The steak and eggs plate is to die for. The bread and steak with the pate and butter--IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!! Having pho as an option means we'll choose Stone pho every time over mi sant. Of course, if you're dining in, there is a wait because the food is so good. For all you Minnesota nice people, let me tell you now...When it's busy, this is a place where you go, have your order ready, eat, and get tf out--not stay and shoot the shit. One thing I hope the restaurant changes is the amount of tripe for the stone pho dac biet: less tripe, more tendon, could also use a little more noodles. I got like a handful of tripe on my plate, like no one needs that much tripe! And ya all gotta find a better system to make boba drinks more efficiently.
