Broth is oddly dark and kind of thick. Abomination.

Pains me to leave a bad review because I used to LOVE Bep and they've saved me from many many hangovers while at the office after a long night as a 20 something new to corporate life.. but the quality has gone down so drastically. Back in the day you used to get your pho packaged like EVERY OTHER takeout pho joint... with the broth being separate and you assemble when you get back to your office. Now they just pour it in right there at the counter. Also- they skimp on ingredients now. No more shrimp and they used to have proper pho noodles but now just use the same noodles as the vermicelli bowls. The broth is no longer clear like it should be. I feel like they're clearly struggling due to all the above reasons and the fact that their other locations have closed with only two remaining but *shrugs* if they shutter completely I won't be surprised.

THEY ARE OPEN AGAIN!!! This is not a drill!! I literally visit this location at least 1-2 times per week. They have the best phó (rare steak is the only way to go) for a chilly Minnesota day, but I usually get the spring rolls with extra peanut sauce. I don't feel bogged down by carbs and it's just enough protein to get me through my work day. The sauce has a little kick that keeps me coming back again and again.

Fast food contemporary Vietnamese that's reliable. Ordered the spring rolls. Ultimately the rolls had a nice stretch rice paper exterior. The inside had a lot of fiber and veggies that's were basically a salad. The chicken portion was meager but we'll executed. Since I came for the 1-2pm happy hour ($2 spring rolls) this was a decent deal. Otherwise, I didn't think these were very impressive.

Honestly I went to this place only by the higher number of ratings when I looked for Vietnamese restaurants to try out a Pho. The restaurant is placed in the middle of a busy downtown building that the size of the place isn't too generous. Luckily the restaurant wasn't too busy on a Friday noon and I got served for lunch within two minutes. This is a quick eat like a Chipotle and I informed the first waitress on the line that I was there for the first time. She got excited and walked me through all the available options in the menu. Since the broth has chicken in it, I decided to pass on the Pho and instead went for a Vermicelli rice salad with veggies. One by one the waitresses in the line kept stacking different proteins and veggies to the vermicelli and made it look like an art work. The checkout was pretty fast and I got extra soy sauce, crushed peanuts and peanut sauce. The food was extraordinary without a second doubt. This place is quite small and you will need to be mindful of finishing your meal fast so that others don't have to wait on you. *Be mindful of what you put on your plate. Don't waste your food!*

This place definitely serves a purpose for days when its gloomy outside and I need some broth and wholesome noodles in my life. Trust me, when I order the Pho, I have tried to eat these rice noodles in an elegant manner but have not been successful. Slurp, Slurp, Slurp pretty much sums up my Pho experience. I usually get the chicken Pho with lettuce, onions, bean sprouts, and curacha- i kept it simple. They now have a huge tub where they put the broth, meat, and onions (if you select them) together and then they give you the separate bowl with the dry items and the sauce of your choice ( if you choose one). I like the new serving method a lot because the broth goes a long way and the ingredients really get to marinate well together in the tub.

Yum!!! This is an instance where I wish I could half and do 4.5. The only reason for not a 5 is that it is delicious and I look forward to going back, but wish the flavors were a bit stronger to push it to incredible. I've gone twice and gotten the vermicelli salad with chicken. You're able to customize the toppings ala chipotle including the sauce (I like the vinaigrette). I go spicy with jalapeños and sriracha as well. Delicious and not heavy at all! I look forward to trying the bah mi, pho, and the spring rolls!

If you work in downtown Minneapolis and have a craving for Pho, Bep is the place to go. There are two locations but this is the one I frequent. It's a short walk from my office, but one must go early to avoid the crowd. I got there around 11:30am and already, lines were forming. I ordered the beef pho. The staff assembles your pho in front of you like Subway and Chipotle style. Seating is ample but again, it gets filled up fast so find a spot fast if you can. The bowls are the perfect size, and they're made of sustainable cardboard/paper? (I think). The broth was amazing! It was pretty good for a small skyway restaurant and you don't need to add anything else to it! The portion is enough to make you full but not enough to put you in food coma so I'm not worried! The staff are friendly and I love how fast they work. They're also located in the perfect spot in the skyway, no wonder why it gets extremely Busy if you don't go early. I would definitely come back again when I get another Pho craving. The broth had me hooked.

Two words. Vietnamese Coffee. I can't stay away from this place. The coffee is so strong and delicious. It's the best place I've found to get iced Vietnamese Coffee in the Twin Cities. I have had the Pho and the Spring Rolls and both are awesome. Put BEP on your list of restaurants to try. One teeny tiny con: They close daily at 2pm. Kinda sucks when the food is so yummy.

I skipped gym time to finally check this place out since they are only open until 3pm, and I would say it was worth it. Got into the restaurant, and there was not a long line. Service was super fast, and I got my bowl of pho quick. The restaurant is more designed for to-go because there isn't much space to dine in. I got the beef pho, which came with beef broth, rare steak, and some great choice of veggies that adds aromatic and texture (basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapenos, etc.). The beef pho was good! Not the best I have had, but not bad either. Good pho is good pho, and it sure will leave you satisfied. Fast and friendly service, and good pho. Where can you go wrong with this place? Great for grabbing a quick meal. I'm just not sure how long the wait will be when it's super busy.

    Vermicelli Bowl & Pho

It is convenient for a shirt lunch break of office jobs, but I would not recommend if you're looking for something truly authentic. It's like Subway version of Vietnamese food. You pick Pho, Vermicelli, Banh Mi or Spring rolls. Pick your protein, veggies and sauces. I guess the beef on Pho was a bit "too rare" for us that made it too chewy to it. The broth is actually better than I expected. The rice vermicelli texture was so weird, but the veggies and grilled chicken wasn't bad. I chose the vinaigrette for dressing because that's what we usually eat at home. 4/5 for this place. Nice design and idea. Should have more spaces to dine-in.

I love LOVE this place. Aside from the populated Chinese spots here in downtown I'm so glad there's a fast and easy Vietnamese joint nearby. I've visited Bep more than 20x in the last 2 years and finally got to writing a review. Honestly, I felt like it was much much better when I stepped into Bep the first few times. However it is still my favorite go to. My favorite is the vermicelli bowl. The bowl starts with a base of the vermicelli noods, then your protein of choice. I usually go for the steak, because it's tender and I love seeing a glimpse of pink. Then you choose any topping of choice, varying from bean sprouts, pickled carrots, herbs and etc. I love the vermicelli and peanut sauce together. Before, they would squeezed the sauce into the bowl but recently it comes in a condiment container. I still prefer the squeezing sauce bottles but totally understandable about the switch up. Their second option is Pho. The pho broth is amazing. It's so flavorful that sometimes I just don't want none of the noods. Its great that this option is available because it's my go to for soups when I feel under the weather. They also make spring rolls with your choice of proteins and topping as well. I say it's just like the bowl but rolled up in translucent chewy wraps. Located in the Skyway of the Fifth Street Towers hidden around the corner of the 100 tower! Check it out!

    Delicious Spring Roll!!

We used to go when they were across the street in the small space. To me this is the OG Vietnamese place to recommend when people ask where to get great Vietnamese food. Food is always good and service is great. It has been a long time since I've been here and I'm glad to see they still have a lot of options available, even weekend specials. I had to taste the banh cuon since that is a weekend specials and not easily found in restaurants. It did not disappoint. The nuoc mam was perfect. Filling was good but I wish there were more fresh herbs for garnish. Bun Bo hue was filled with meat and protein!! I can't believe how much was in there. I normally don't like a ton of meat but this was so tender I ate it all. Pho was good. Broth had a strong star anise flavor but I like that. The mi hoanh ton soup was good but not the best. The wontons were huge! I appreciate the amount of protein in it. Cream cheese wontons flavor was good, wish there was more than 4 pieces per order though. Nem nuong serving size was pretty small. Wish we would've ordered the nem nuong spring rolls instead. Bubble tea tasted like strawberry milk, very sweet. Not my favorite but my daughter gave it 10/10. Salmon rice was good, we were able to add eggs for $4. The chili oil is very hot so be careful how much you add. 4% discount if you pay in cash. Gratuity added for parties of 5 or more. Easy to grab to go at the front if you are in a rush. We grabbed more to go after we ate too. The tri color dessert was ok, not my favorite but I liked the sweetness of the coconut milk in there. We grabbed a banh mi that was ready to go and that was good! Bread was crispy, but maybe too much bread ratio to filling. Banh bao was massive too, expensive for $8.

So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate.
