My Huong Kitchen is worth the trip to Eat Street in Minneapolis. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a short wait for a table. As soon as we got our food, I could see why! I had the lemongrass beef bahn mi and the bread was the star of the show. It had a light, buttery exterior that melted in your mouth as soon as you bit into it. The bread itself was light & airy and didn't overwhelm the filling. I could've used a little bit more pickle on the veggies in the sandwich but they were still fresh & crisp. Also got the egg rolls, which had lots of flavor but were a little on the cold side, like they had already been cooked before we ordered. The Vietnamese coffee was amazing!! One of the best ones I've had in Minneapolis. The owner, Tracy, is such a sweetheart! She came over to check on us while we were eating and made us feel so welcome She is doing great things to support the Minneapolis community right now so it's the least we can do to support her business in return! There is a parking lot to park in right outside of the restaurant, which makes the trip a bit easier. Highly recommend!

Wonderful service! The woman who owns the restaurant is so kind and friendly. The waitress was also wonderful. I ordered the chicken curry noodle soup and it was exceptional. The crepes are to die for. I will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend.

This place is an absolute gem. The owner Tracy is the sweetest person you will meet and she makes it a point to come by and talk to every single table. She really makes you feel at home and like family and that makes the experience here that much better. The food is also incredible, I had the chicken curry noodle soup and the broth was to die for and it was loaded with well cooked and seasoned chicken and fresh veggies and noodles. We also got the bahn mi sandwich and let me tell you, the baguette this came on was probably the best I've had, it was so crunchy on the outside and I wish I got another one. The pork inside was melt in your mouth and the pickled veggies on top were perfect. Amazing local spot with incredible staff!

If you find yourself going back to Quang again and again, please give this nearby spot a try! The owner here, Tracy I believe is her name, is absolutely INCREDIBLE - she came out and chatted with us multiple times, asking how we liked the food and about ourselves. She even gave my husband some plant starters to take home from her herb collection! It's clear she takes a lot of pride in growing a lot of her own produce and herbs, and you can taste the freshness in her food. The quality of food was amazing - her pho and vermicelli noodle salad can hang with the best of 'em on Eat Street. I loved the ambiance in here - bright and greenery, with the feeling that you were a welcomed guest in her home. Her food is amazing, but her commitment to meeting, greeting and welcoming her guests is what makes My Huong Kitchen stand out on Eat Street! We'll definitely be back.

First off, I love that they have their own lot. It's awesome that you don't have to deal with the street parking. The space is nice and cozy. It's well lit and super clean. Service was quick and they're super nice. I had the bun thit kho, egg rolls, and Durian Smoothie. Over all they were pretty decent. The smoothie is definitely the stand out. These are hard to find and even harder to find good quality ones. This was a absolutely delicious! I'll be back for that for sure!

Relaxed clean and causal restaurant with friendly hosts. Went on a Friday evening and we were seated immediately. There were a few other parties and it was not too loud. The restaurant was lit well with nice decor. The food was awesome! I ordered pho and my friend ordered the chicken curry. My Pho was so flavorful and the broth was deliciously savory. I appreciated that the broth was not too salty. They also had delicious pickled jalapeños that were the perfect addition.

Absolutely fascinating Vietnamese cuisine! This is the first time I visit to try the chicken curry soup and it was amazing. In the past, I have had their bahn mi sandwich which is delicious too but this time I chose to try something different. This place doesn't disappoint. It was a cold winter evening and I wanted something warm and filling. The broth had lots of flavor, it was steamy, noodles were cooked to perfection, veggies were fresh and the combination of everything came together very well. I would most definitely get this again. Service is great, it is family owned and you can tell they care that you enjoy your food and take your time. It was almost closing time and I asked for our bill, the lady (owner) said don't rush, take your time I'll still be here. She even helped me pack up my soup to-go when I was done eating. Ambience is laid back and casual, I love that they keep their cultural decor up which enhances the experience when dining here. Overall would recommend to give this gem a try if you're ever in the eat street neighborhood.

So I went to Eat Street to get lunch and Chinese groceries, and discovered that my go-tp Vietnamese dive, Pho Tau Bay, is closed until fall due to construction. Well thinking I would go to Pho Hua instead, I pulled intonthe Shuang Hur Grocer's parking lot thinking I'd grab a few things before heading north on Eat Street. Then I saw signs on the Shuang Hur building for a (new to me) Vietnamese joint in the same building. Boy was I pleasantly surprised! My Huong is an 8-top hole in the wall across the parking lot from the rear of El Nuevo Mariachi Restaurant. The place is homely, small, but brightly lit and plenty of day light through the picture windows overlooking Eat Street. It's a big contrast to Pho 79 type places that are dim and short on ambience. The clientele shows. Instead of just a bunch of Asians throwing down Pho, it's a mix like you'd see at Quang or Eat Street Crossing. I was seated right away, was greeted by a cheery Vietnamese lady, and ordered Hu Tieu Bo Khu (Beef Stew Noodle Soup.) It was a dish I haven't seen before even though I have been to so many Vietnamese places (see my other reviews and lists.) The dish came very quickly, and I was shocked that they didn't bring it with a veggie plate. Oh well. Well the best way I could describe Hu Tieu Bo Khu, its basically a pot roast over noodles. So the beefy broth like a less spicey version of Bun Bo Hue, with flavors of lemongrass and star anise, nicely garnished already with what would have been on a veggie plate. The broth was delicious, slightly sweet with the carrots, and the beef was fall apart amazingly stewed with deep flavor. There were other menu items like Curry Chicken pho and a Stewed chicken rice dish I'd have to return and try! read more

Ambience: A small, cozy space. Wasn't hard to grab a table for Sunday lunch. Service: Friendly, prompt, and accurate. Food: We tried beef noodle soup, chicken noodle soup, beef pho, and spring rolls. I'm in California and I just saw a video that surfaced the internet of this brave and kind owner Tracy Wong allowing peaceful protesters to enter her facility during a horrible time in her town due to this horrible and crewel administration. The service was phenomenal. My Huong Kitchen is how to do simple, delicious Hmong food right! Located on an unassuming spot on Nicollet, my Huong Kitchen mainly serves casual southeast Asian Hmong cuisine, with a cool mixer of veggies and meats. It definitely is on the more casual and low-key side, come here for a pleasant lunch and you won't be disappointed. For the price as well in the low single digits for some items, I thought it was good. I'm not expecting absolute peak Vietnamese food here but it does well considering many other restaurants charge more for being about the same. My first time I went to get broken rice and the 2nd time (forgot to take photos) I had a pickup order for beef noodles. Both are good, solid options and can't really go wrong with either. Overall, I would recommend. read more

The ice cream is creamy and delicious and the creations, while not cheap, are very tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful and will assist you if you have questions or not able to decide. When I went to the location at Mall of America, it didn't seem like they have alternative milk. The employees at the MOA where to themselves. I'm lactose intolerant. This guy at Eat Street Crossing asked if I had any questions, which I ask if the drinks can be made with almond or soymilk, he said yes and just to let him know which drink. I ordered the tiger creme brulee drink and it was delicious. He did let me know there was some dairy, which I can tolerate, but that experience made a difference, because I'd probably walk away if he didn't check in.

I believe that since COVID they have transitioned to takeout only, and it's great to see that the business is still thriving even if they are still operating under the takeout only model despite how the world has evolved away from the pandemic. For the few dishes that I came here for, qualities varied, with some dishes lacking flavor while others simply sloppily created. The Hainanese chicken relied solely on the extra dipping sauces for flavor while the chicken itself had no flavor alone. The nasi lemak had good flavor mainly because of the sambal, and the chicken had good texture. I didn't see any peanuts in the dish, which I thought was needed for nasi lemak. The sizzling beef and ginger scallion duck had pretty expected flavor because of their ingredients, meaning that what they looked like was what they tasted like, if that makes sense. When I got food from there a second time 4 months later, overall the food was better. The chili tofu wasn't spicy at all even if I asked for spicy in my original order. The char kway teow had both good flavor and soft texture, allowing a positive tasting experience. The sambal shrimp had a good amount of vegetables and not enough shrimp, and had very good flavor because of the sambal infused with the dish. Because their menu is huge, I think they have an adequate selection of options that can serve customers of all kinds. Even though this is not one of my favorite spots within the Twin Cities, the dishes they have already solidifies this establishment as a "must not miss" within the area.

The location, however, made for a very unusual experience. The IDS Center felt almost deserted during our visit, with only a handful of businesses still open. It gave the building an unexpectedly empty atmosphere, which was a bit surprising. We also had a difficult time finding a restroom, and no one we asked seemed to know where one was located. While the setting was a little odd, the quality of the donuts made the stop worthwhile. If you're planning to visit, just be aware that the location itself may be a bit different than you expect.

You will find yourself in a warm friendly atmosphere and get incredibly fresh Vietnamese food, well under-priced. I love Huong and it's really tough to get a bowl of it that's not oily with really fresh mint and cilantro. Their fish dishes and appetizers also can't be beat. The beef salad is fresh and filling and the lobster and tuna rolls and as fresh as they come, but nothing beats the warm noodle soups that are a full meal on their own and priced at under $11 can't be beat. I always like to order an appetizer to share with someone, not because the soups aren't enough on their own, but because other things are so great I want a taste of something else as well. I fully agree with the majority of the other reviews - this place is the shiz. I got the Lemongrass Beef noodle salad and the chicken noodle soup, along with egg rolls - all were excellent - everything tasted super fresh. Everything (add an iced coffee which was uh-maze) came to just barely over $20. I also had the great fortune to experience the wonderful customer service many have spoken of - even though I had placed a to-go order, the owner made time to introduce herself, ask If I had been there before, where I'd heard of them etc. - a personal touch that is often overlooked today but more than appreciated.
