My husband surprised me and brought me here for my birthday celebration. I thought we were going to get some boba tea, but he guided me upstairs where there was a speakeasy! It was so cool and the vibe was so fun. We sat outside on the deck and it was so perfect. Their drink menu was filled with interesting and unique cocktails. I tried the "What the pho" drink and it was so incredible! The drink tasted exactly like pho and it was so bizarre! It was really good and a must try!! The appetizers and entree were also really delicious! We tried the popcorn chicken, the garlic noodles, and the salt and pepper shrimp bowl. Everything was delicious!! L2 Tii cup on the top level is one of my fave cocktail lounges. It's a hidden gem one level up from the cafe on the bottom floor. The cocktails are unlike any others around. One tastes like a cold bowl of pho in a great way. They're rich and smooth. Some are milky and dessert like. The boba balls are a great touch but the drinks themselves are outstanding. A lot of chemistry going on to make those happen. It's a fun atmosphere with music, nice tropical style with a beautiful lil rooftop area. Service is always great. The idea of having alcoholic boba cocktails was so fun and made this place stand out. We got quite a few different things to share including: popcorn chicken, green beans, ube fries, wontons, garlic pasta. This place has two floors, first floor is your regular boba shop, second floor is a boba bar! And there's a little balcony on the second floor with an igloo for outdoor seating even in the winter. Stopped in for Valentine's Day special drinks at the bar, we came right when trivia was happening on a Sunday night so it took a while to get a table but we were able to wait downstairs and get some regular boba drinks. I got an Ube Twister with Coconut Snow and added Lychee popping boba, completely delicious. About 30-40 min later we got seated upstairs in the bar after being added to the waitlist by phone number. Super cute place, very cozy and low light. My drink was something with Japanese whiskey, raspberry, and popping boba. A bit heavy on the whiskey for my taste but my friend's fruity little cocktail was much better. This is my second time at L2 at Tii Cup and have enjoyed myself both times. To start I think this is just such a fun idea. I love boba and a little alcy boba is so fun and unique (in the US at least). I also love that there is an option for food there as well, though I haven't actually tried any of it yet. Just nice to have food option! I went for the Valentine's specials that were donating part of profits to Immigrant Law Center of MN (woohoo go Tii Cup for doing what you can!). We came during trivia so there was a bit of a wait to be seated, but we got in after 30ish minutes. We just waited downstairs, which was nice because same building obviously. I got a cocktail that I cannot actually remember anymore (a good reminder to do reviews ASAP) :( I remember it was fruity (strawberry?), light, and yummy. My friend got the Golden Raspberry Beret which was more whiskey heavy. I liked it though, good amount of raspberry and cream and the popping strawberry boba were sooo good! I did a private buyout of L2 and they were so easy to work with! Leading up to the event, I worked with Brad who was awesome and answered all of my questions. Communication was great and he provided all the details I needed ahead of time. There was plenty of signage about the private event the day of and I didn't have any issues with random people coming upstairs. The space is really cute and vibey. Everyone loved the food and drinks at L2! The vietnamese coffee espresso martini was a treat and I really enjoyed the ube-bae as well. Drinks were incredibly creative and delicious. The honeydew-mii shot was really good too. The garlic green beans were so flavorful and the braised pork bowl had a generous portion. The team at L2 really made the night. Kassandra, the bartender, was so kind and friendly and Isabelle and Josh were awesome too! I wanted welcome shots for guests as they arrived and the team did a great job making sure there were always shots ready to go. If you've never been to L2 Tii Cup you've got some catching up to do!!! This Local Bubble tea shop/speakeasy is one of my favorite places in the cities. To get to the speakeasy go thru the door on the left side of the bubble tea counter. You'll enter a small hall space with a red-lit staircase. Upstairs feels like a chic lounge area in summer there's an outdoor patio. I love the idea of spiked bubble tea! It's the best of both worlds. I've had the Ube-bae, the viet-tini and the mojito, all have been amazing I love the mojito with strawberry popping boba mint and a nice dark rum. The food menu shouldn't be missed! Curry Popcorn chicken is a fav of mine with sticks that makes it feel like a true street food delight! I loved the shrimp and decided to do the upgrade to a bowl which came with rice and pickled vegetables. I also ordered a side of the Thai cilantro aioli. The dishes were so flavorful didn't need it but it's such a delicious addition couldn't help it. Only complaint is the shrimp wasn't cleaned out. I've always loved Tii cup so I was very excited to try their speak easy. The area isn't great for parking cause you basically have to drive around and find street parking. I didnt make reservations, just walked in but it was kind of busy when I went. Staff was super friendly and gave great recommendations for food and drinks. Yesterday was my first visit, and I was not disappointed. First of all, a lot of work went into creating a real cocktail lounge atmosphere without making you feel as though you need to dress up to impress; it's still a laid-back setting. If you can, enjoy your cocktails on the rooftop terrace in Minneapolis, which is quickly becoming a destination for rooftop parties. Uptown has been lacking that. I've been dying to check this place out! It looked even cooler than I expected! Definitely a "speakeasy" vibe. It was busy on a Friday night around 9, but we got a table for 3 in 15 minutes or less! The seats are comfy and the bar looked great to sit at too! The servers were friendly! They did forget a few things for us, but again the place was packed, so I forgive them haha. The drinks were stronger than I expected! Some I wanted to be sweeter haha, but overall the menu is so unique and the drinks did taste good! We had the popcorn chicken too, a must! Seriously, everything was tasty. Weird recommendation, but get the green beans. It's everything I want in a spicy veggie side. The drinks were also really great - I loved the way the menu listed out options for spirit forward vs. "goes down easy". As somebody who prefers less sweet drinks, I felt so seen! The only downside is it does move a little slow and the space is a little tight. Plan to take your time and enjoy yourself in a cozy environment. If you like the flavor of dark rum you'll like it. There was a whisky coffee drink that was also quite strong. Those 2 drinks definitely didn't belong on the "goes down easy" side of the menu. Checked out this bubble tea cafe with a speakeasy bar upstairs. Hennepin avenue had construction, we had to take a detour and park in the neighborhood couple blocks away. I used to work at Tii cup in burnsville so I am very familiar with their menu and I thought they aced it with intertwining the bar and their original bubble tea shop! We came the day after it opened and it wasn't crazy busy and the bartender/owner of the bar aspect, was super cool and nice. We got the Ube Bae rum drink and it was a 10/10 for me. Not overly alcoholic tasting but definitely still tastes like a cocktail. I had to resist drinking it all too quickly lol. I also got their take on the espresso martini and it was delish! I would say a 9/10. Good coffee flavor and a great level of sweetness. My boyfriend got the mango marg and he loved it! I DESPISE tequila and even I thought it tasted great. He also got the old fashioned and it came with a cute side of boba! The boba was a nice little treat and my boyfriend said his drink was super smooth and delicious. What a fun take on cocktails and boba tea! L2 at too cup offers a variety of boba tea inspired cocktails (that you can add actual boba to) and a few appetizers. We got the Ube-bae and dragon fruit mojito with lychee boba. The dragon fruit mojito was light and refreshing and paired well with the lychee boba. The Ube-bae tasted a little boozy for my liking. Both drinks were BEAUTIFUL!! We also got taro fries with Ube sauce and they were really good! I was not expecting the Ube sauce to be sweet, but the pairing worked! L2 definitely brings the vibes!
