    Free Ferrero Rochers

Probably one of my favorite Vietnamese food places within the Twin Cities area, if not my favorite, and the entire vibe, which is definitely hole in the wall, allows one to know that their food has got to be good. While I have only ordered a few items from them so far, I have found them all to be great and worth a try for sure. Everything ranging from the spring rolls, which had an abundant amount of items including pork and shrimp, to the bun bo hue had been authentically on point. The bun bo hue was probably the spiciest one I have had anywhere, and it contained a good amount of flavor. I was given a lot of meat of various types in it, including the kinds of pork that I didn't eat. I still appreciated the courtesy, though, despite not eating it. The pho wasn't in a large bowl, but the bowl itself was filled with all kinds of ingredients from meat to noodles, and of course, had broth that contained an abundant amount of flavor. Towards the end, I was also given free Ferrero Rochers, which I also appreciated. I have been here several times and the chocolate wasn't a guarantee every time, so just a heads up there, but it's okay since I wasn't expecting them to begin with. Apparently they had a lot of Chinese food options as well, which I would love to try upon my return here!

Compact Viet- Chinese carry out. Along a strip with tight parking, this place is easily missed, but would be a fun addition if you aren't in the mood to cook. Dined in here during lunch, but not really a place to do that. It has a total of about 3 tables. Most of the orders are carry out for a good reason. 12. Special pho. I normally skipped the meatballs and order extra tendon. This broth was very meaty and flavorful. The tendons were very soft and meat tender. Would order again for sure! 82. Beef rice vermicelli I took as a take away to eat for dinner. Beef had a great flavor and a slight chew, but in the beefy way. Vegetables were crisp and the sauce not overly powering.

Wow. So good. Total hole in wall. Think street food stools in Vietnam. But so, so yummy. Skip the Chinese side of menu and go straight to the pho's. All are so good. And they give you plate of bean sprouts, fresh basil leaves, fresh cut jalapeños and limes to add to taste. Ignore the decor, go here to eat the food. Note closed on weekends, and after 2 pm becomes takeout only.

1/10. Very little fatty meat with Amy Pho. Greasy broth. Definitely not worth $14.00.

Over priced for the quantity and quality. Very little meat and lots of fat. The sides were limited. Taste was bland. Many better options in the area.

Way too expensive and each of the items I ordered had a strange off putting flavor. Love supporting local small business but not this one.

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

This is one of those low key hidden gem restaurants that serve authentic food without a doubt,…read morebecause it's not only difficult to locate, but also relatively exclusive in terms of its clientele. I enjoyed everything I have had here so far and definitely appreciated the authentic aspect of the food they have. The only improvement I could suggest was the taste of a lot of their dishes, as flavors tended to be on the mild side. It doesn't mean their food is any less authentic, though, and I would recommend all that are looking for authentic Chinese food to visit here. Individually, I ordered dishes that I would normally order in Chinese restaurants, so while I am not sure if there's anything I can necessarily recommend yet, I will say that I thought every dish I have had were above average in comparison to the same dishes I have had elsewhere. My favorite so far is the fried pork in scoop (锅包肉) and I don't even regularly eat pork. There was a nice layer of sweetness and sourness witht the sauce outside the pork pieces. The vegetable dishes like eggplant in garlic sauce (鱼香茄子), green beans with garlic (干煸四季豆), and Chinese cabbage (手撕包菜) are all tasty enough. The Chinese cabbage contained a lot of vinegar, and I bet some people would enjoy that. I didn't taste enough cumin in the cumin lamb (孜然羊肉) dish, but there was an abundant amount of lamb and I appreciated it. The spicy pepper chicken (辣子鸡) was very delicious and had the right amount of spice in my opinion. There is a Relaxing Healthy Center that's connected to the restaurant and apparently that establishment has been very popular, especially in the evenings. I have not visited there yet but I heard that it was similar to saunas in China, and I would love to visit there soon. Regardless, this is a hidden gem, hole in the wall, type of spot and I would definitely recommend everyone.

So I wasn't really happy with it but it was large and meaty. The other entrée was the shrimp lo mein. The lo mein noodles had practically no flavor. I mean, they were tasteless other than noodles that were in oil. The best thing about lo mein is the lo mein sauce and this seemed to have nothing. It was, however, a very large portion of noodles and adequate amount of shrimp. So on portion size, I give them five out of five. On taste I give them a two out of five.

I was trying to use up all my…read morevacation days for 2024 and was short a day to cover my vacation from December 13th to the end of the month. So, I chose Monday to work remotely because, well, why not? For almost a year, I have been using a DoorDash pass for free. It means that I can get meals delivered for free if each order hits a minimum of $15. I decided to do delivery because it feels fancy to me when I'm in a hotel. I did a search on the DoorDash app and found Eddie Cheng Restaurant. It had menu items that appealed to me. What's funny to me was that it was across the street from the hotel. I could have easily placed my order and walked across the street to fetch it. I'm glad that I did delivery. My manager had an urgent task for me to complete on my final workday of 2024. Getting lunch delivered helped me get this task done quickly and efficiently. I ordered the following items: - Wonton soup - Shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice I didn't get any drinks because I had lots in my hotel room. When you go with delivery from this eatery, the restaurant decides if it's going to use its own delivery service or go with a DoorDasher. I had scheduled my food to arrive between 11:30 am and noon. The restaurant's own driver delivered my food. I had instructions to knock and leave the food at my door. This delivery person didn't read the instructions. He knocked on the door and expected me to open the door. I said politely to leave it at the door and I thanked him. He did. The wonton soup was amazing. The broth looked so clean. It was yummy. The wontons were huge and had a lot of filling. I'd order this soup again. It was excellent. The shrimp with lobster sauce on roasted pork fried rice wasn't what I had expected. I am so used to the version that New China does in Rochester with a lot of yummy lobster sauce that this one was different. It was basically a few large shrimp and veggies tossed in lobster sauce and pan-fried. They all were on top of fried rice. It was good. The shrimp and veggies were cooked well. The lobster sauce was salty. The fried rice seemed bland to me on its own, but was fine when I mixed the veggies and shrimp with it. My food came with crispy chow mein. It wasn't yummy. Pass! I got a fortune cookie, which I liked. We'll see if my fortune comes true... haha! It's good Chinese food. I'd get the wonton soup again, but would try something else off the menu. (8)
