SO GOOD. such a little spot that absolutely delivers. If you just want that classic Chinese food that hits the spot and is higher quality than fast food, this place is your best bet. Their egg rolls and wontons are to die for. The fried rice is a liiiittle bland but still good

    Pho

Food is horrible. No taste. The vegetables are not even rinsed. This is the pho I ordered, oily and tasteless.

After long last they have reopened. Same owners and a newly remodeled dining room, I became very fond of this place when they were previously opened. I loved their spring tolls and hot sour soup. Perhaps its just nostalgia for me, but they taste just as good now. I liked the new offerings I tried (Bahn Mi and Com Da) Parking is a bear, but I think its worth it.

If nothing else, get the sesame chicken from this restaurant. You will be happy you did.

Delicious food, great deals, and top-tier service. I would definitely recommend the sesame chicken combo and the pad thai.

We wanted boba too, but they were out of boba pearls. The barista said it would be 20 minutes to make, so we opted to get the drinks refunded instead of wait. The egg sandwich was good! Not as good as the EggFlip ones I've had in the Twin Cities, as the eggs weren't quite a perfected and the bread a bit more standard. But the bacon was good and the toast was well buttered and crisped. The mochi donuts here are pre-made, which is okay - until you've had them fresh. Soga Mochi Donut in St. Paul makes them fresh to order and I swear having them hot will change you forever! They're still good, and we liked the cinnamon sugar and pistachio toppings we tried. Inside, the decor is cute but you can tell it's been ridden hard by UMN students. Not a deal-breaker, but there are other locations you can visit if you don't want to fight for a parking spot during school season.

The diverse coffee and tea menu offer both the classics to the fancy brews. The pastries to pair with the drinks, are so delectable since they the delightful pastries are from the renown Patisserie 46! Today, I got the Black Sesame Latte with Oat Foam, served hot since it was quite a chilly day and an Almond croissant, which was sooo good, the perfect balance of a flaky exterior with a rich, nutty interior. Heavenly! I also got the opportunity to meet Angie Lee, the founder of Moona Moono! I told her how much I LOVED her shop and how much Minneapolis needed a shop like this. Angie appreciated my feedback and she told me the backstory to the name of the store! The name "Moona Moono" is a rough translation of two Korean words meaning "culture octopus," representing the various "tentacles" or facets of the Asian American experience. How COOL is that? Thank you again, Angie, for bringing this lovely shop to Minneapolis, and I hope it stays a hit for the years to come! LOVE!

I didn't realize until after I left that there was a silent reading event taking place. I was most excited to try the matcha drinks from the drink bar in the back. I ordered the strawberry matcha, and my friend ordered the Banacha (banana matcha). Since it was so busy, we waited until we got back to the car to try them. I honestly wish I had tasted mine before leaving because, unfortunately, it was some of the worst matcha I've had around here. It was extremely watery and ended up tasting more like watered-down strawberry jam. The Banacha drink was similar -- just watery banana flavor. The employee who made our drinks was extremely kind, and I'm sure they would have remade them if I had asked. However, by the time we tried them, we were already back in the car and it was raining. The store itself is cute and has a nice atmosphere, but I'll probably take my business elsewhere in the future.

I've never seen it anywhere else except in Honolulu and I can't believe it's in Minneapolis now. The one in Minneapolis is very strict on how they make their matcha floats like there's no substitutions. When I was in Waikiki Beach and if I ordered a Matcha float, I always ask for no ice and so they would fill it full of Matcha ice cream and then the cold Matcha tea premade in a pitcher from their fridge (i'm assuming because people ask for it this way all the time so they have to make a stock pile of it first because you don't wanna pour hot Matcha tea over ice cream) but they won't do that here in Minneapolis. You cannot get it without ice in Minneapolis cause they make the Matcha tea fresh so it's hot and they pour it over the ice and it melts the ice a little bit and then they put the matcha ice cream on top of that. lol i'm sure people ask for NO ICE all the time so now it says that right on the menu that you have to get it with ice booooo. The flavor of the Matcha is super strong like it will energize you like no other. It is an absolute great. Pick me up for a late afternoon. I can't wait to come back and try their black sesame and their Matcha ice cream and a cone. The only odd thing about this place is that when you walk in there is a weird smell. I don't know if it's because of the construction outside they're digging up the road, but it smells almost like a chemical cleaner or something, and the floors didn't look wet or anything like it wasn't just cleaned so I'm not sure where the smell is coming from. There's literally only street parking in that area so the best time to come is in the summertime when there's not a lot of student traffic because this is on the university campus.

My brother ordered the hojicha latte, and I got the matcha and milk twist ice cream - which the person taking my order mistakenly input as the matcha latte float (which is matcha latte with ice cream on top). Still got to try the ice cream, and the matcha too - so it worked out! We weren't asked for ice or sweetness level when ordering from the person at the register and ended up with full ice and 100% sweetness. WHEW, that is too sweet for me. Next time, I'll definitely opt to order from the machine where I can customize. But overall, the matcha was good and the hojicha delish too - I can tell both would be great flavors at a lower sugar level. The ice cream was so good! Bummed you can't twist the hojicha and matcha ice cream together - only twists with milk (like the vanilla option) - but oh well, the milk flavor is so good. They have some darling and impeccable desserts - we didn't get this time, but might in the future. The ambiance in here is so darling - great decor and comfy seats.
