    Beef sandwich

It was alright because the beef was alright n the other ingredients, the bread small so it's kinda messy to eat

I love Pham's Rice Bowl! I've visited this stall quite a few times. It's located in the middle of the Midtown Global Market along the major dining space. The team here is really friendly and it's always a good service experience! I've tried a lot of menu items like Banh Mi, pho, and their boba! All of it is pretty good and I'll be continuing to get food here!

Located in Midtown Global, Pham's is a spot where you are going to get a MASSIVE amount of food for a VERY low price. My friend and I went to sample a number of things, so I'll describe each below. Shrimp Spring Rolls- Monster size/value and you get 2 for $4.50. Not a TON of shrimp in there, but they were still super good. 5/5 for combination of taste and value. Beef Banh Mi- Again, massive in portion. The sandwich itself was a tad mediocre, with really nice bread and a massive amount of toppings. Would probably get it again. 4/5. Lemongrass Chicken (got super spicy option)- OUTSTANDING. Really nice spice level that is not for the faint of heart. The sauce that they put on it was outstanding and they gave you a really nice portion of chicken. This was the standout of our meal and had great value ($8) to go along with exceptional taste. 5/5. Szechuan Chicken (got very spicy option)- This was a bit underwhelming. I'd say it was certainly user error by us for ordering from a Vietnamese spot. Massive amount of veggies and not a ton of meat. I'd say 2/5 and if you are thinking of getting this dish, go to an actual Sichuan spot. Overall, it is super SoIid spot in my neighborhood that I wiII be returning to!

    Veggie noodle salad.

Decent veggie noodle salad bowl - not the worst, not the greatest. Noodles were a little slimy for my liking. I would have preferred far more veggie toppings (menu lists crisp lettuce, fresh cucumber, carrots, and crushed peanuts) compared to the massive amount of noodles. The veggie egg roll had a nice, crispy shell, but was quite greasy. For $10, I had higher hopes. Best part was my fortune.

I got some really good hot chicken & egg rolls at Phams today. I put the hot peanuts on it. Best Szechuan chicken ever!
    Kevin O.

Best Szechuan chicken ever with egg rolls. I got highest level of hot spice and I'm burning sooo good. Finally it taste wonderful and not sweet tasting. Try it with hot peanuts that I added. Update: I recently ordered House Fried Rice that was heavy with meats, White & dark chicken, shrimp and pork with egg. I had medium spicy this time. And of course Eggrolls too.

    Bland AF!

I've just had the most bland and basic Vietnamese noodle salad in my well traveled life!! nuoc mum was bland as well! Noodles, shredded lettuce, carrots, less than a 5 slices of cucumbers, and a few peanuts! True robbery for paying $12 effin dollars plus a nice $3 dollar tip! You lost my business!

This review is long overdue! I love phams so much. They use really fresh ingredients, and as I am vegan they have customized many items for me and not only taking out the meat or sauces but adding vegan ones and extra delicious veggies. Great customer service too, all the staff is so nice and friendly. My favorite thing is the noodle salad bowl - lately I've been opting out of the fried tofu (which is delicious but watching the calories :)) and they'll put extra veggies and give me a delicious peanut sauce instead of the fish sauce. It's the best comfort food. The only negative thing I would say is that compostable packaging would be much better than the plastic they use, even though it is recyclable. Note that in the photo attached I separated HALF the salad into my giant bowl and added my own sriracha and sesame seeds. Sooooo good.

I heart the chicken Pho and usually ask them to split it into 2 bowls and just share it since it's so huge! The Banh Mi sandwich is also very good but they put liver on it, so if your not a fan, remember to ask for is "sans liver"! Tip* They have a frequent buyer card that you can get stamped with every entree you purchase and after 9 stamps the 10th entree is free!

    roast pork BAHN MI
    Scott T.

service at PHAM's DELI was painfully slow -- especially discouraging since i was the only one waiting for food. i was expecting a crusty, rice-flour baguette but my BAHN MI arrived up on a big, squishy "ITALIAN" roll (has anybody had a roll like that in ITALY?) that spent enough time in the oven to seem more stale than toasted. there was very little roast pork and what there was was dry and tough. there were only a couple scrawny sprigs of cilantro and no jalapeño slices. a limp pile of pickled daikon and carrots were too sparse to provide any sweet-tangy crunch. my wife took whatever the photographer's equivalent of poetic license is posing my BAHN MI after she'd arranged all the ingredients on one end. great photo but this time if the picture tells the story it was a lie. VIETNAMESE sandwiches are already minimalist so under stuffed on an oversized roll was pretty much like having a giant, nearly naked hot dog bun with all the character of WONDER BREAD for lunch.

The Szechuan chicken was flavorful but not very spicy
    Kevin B.

I equate Pham's with other Chinese fast food options like Panda Express. The food is tasty and filling, though not exactly premium, authentic, or nutritious. The Szechuan chicken had nice flavor but a mediocre spice level, and in my opinion there were too many veggies and not enough meat. The fried rice was good, but fried rice is more or less a commodity, anyways. The staff was friendly and easy to get along with, and the service was fast - my meal was ready after just a few minutes. On the whole, a passable Chinese food experience, though not worth going out of your way for.

I reviewed Shuang Cheng previously, and the last time was a bit more than a year ago. In…read morere-reading my reviews, I stand by everything I've said about the excellent consistent quality of the food, the service, and how much I enjoy coming to this restaurant. I truly hope they are around longer than I am. I would hate to find out this was one of the choices no longer available to us. Please read my previous reviews for a more inclusive view; this review focuses only on their lobster. I had previously mentioned that they prices of their lobsters (I love the version with black bean sauce) have gone up tremendously. While true, there seems to have been a subtle change in their pricing strategy. Previously (as of before the pandemic), the lobster was priced by the pound, which is the conventional way of doing it. However, they seem to have two lobster prices. The first one is called "Big Lobster" and they say it's between 2 and 2 and half pounds per lobster. The price of that (as of this review) is $56 dollars, or $28 per pound. That's not really a bad price at all. It's expensive, but reasonable. The other lobster is called "Live Lobster" and is priced $10 less at $46. So the real question is how much does this second version weigh? I ordered the Big Lobster, but they said they were out of it. I asked the weight of the "Live Lobster" but I didn't really get a straight answer, but he seemed to say "about two pounds" which doesn't really make sense because that's the price of the larger, more expensive lobster. But I decided to go for it anyway. As I stated in my last review, I'm guessing this lobster is at least two pounds, based on many years of eating lobster. For this review, I had ChatGPT translate the the Chinese on the menu, thinking it was secret code for "if you can read Chinese, save ten dollars by ordering this version" but AI says the Chinese means "lobster" so if you spoke Chinese, you'd still be mystified. So my recommendation is order the version that is ten dollars cheaper and you may (or may not) be paying $23 a pound. Price aside, I love this version of lobster and it is certainly a better deal than what you would pay at an American style seafood or steak restaurant in the Twin Cities.

It was nice visiting and enjoying some of our previously go-to dishes. The soft shell crab made with golden garlic style was as delicious as I remembered, although at a much higher price now ($44+) for the dish. The mapo tofu and eggplant dishes that we ordered ended up being very similar in taste/sauce/seasoning but still pretty good. The service was pretty fast and the staff was friendly.

We ordered a the fried dumplings and the sesame balls. Both were absolutely delectable, best of each I've had in my life. The sesame balls had a crispy sesame coated exterior with a sticky bun interior and sweet bean filling. The fried dumplings were perfectly cooked to delicate perfection and were accompanied by a soy sauce with freshly minced garlic. Those didn't last 2 minutes on the table. We ordered the twice cooked pork and stirfry lamb as entrees and, as other reviews have said, the portions were generous. As for the the meats, they were thinly sliced, tender, and cooked to perfection. The spice level was right on point, not enough to numb your tastebuds but surly will leave you with clear sinuses. The spice contributed significantly to the succulent flavors found in each dish. Each entree comes with a bowl of buttery white rice. As a man of high caloric intake I was very satisfied with this establishment's CPD factor. As a genuine touch, there is heartfelt apology for rising prices due to rising ingredient cost and bird flu found at the bottom of each menu. 10/10 will eat again.

I ordered the Stir Fry Spicy Beef, Mapo Tofu, and the Pork Belly. Everything was tasty and have no complaints as far as the actual flavors. I do think that the Mapo Tofu should always be soft tofu rather than firm, but that's just a personal preference. The beef was plentiful and extra tender and the pork belly was perfectly melt-in-your-mouth, so good that I felt like I had to ration it throughout the next few meals. I do wish it came with more rice. I ordered three sides and only got one box of rice. I was hoping to have at least two so I can eat it for several days. However, to end on a positive note, when I walked in to pick up my order, the woman (owner possibly) was incredibly friendly and spoke Mandarin to me. She was welcoming, funny, and we briefly argued how spicy food should really be for it to be enjoyable. "The spicier the better," me thinks. Come show these guys some love!

There is a small parking lot in back, but you have to walk around the building to get to the door. I would say it is not handicapped friendly. If you park in back it would be hard to get to the door unless you are able to make it half way around the block. If you park in front it is just street parking. My dad uses a walker and we were lucky enough to get a spot right in front of the restaurant, anything else would have been a problem. Spacing inside the restaurant is pretty tight as well. Once dad sat down they had to take his walker into the back because there was no room in the seating area. We were packed in pretty tightly and very close to the table next to us. Overall, delicious food! We will be back!
