2 Pho Dac Biet - House Special and Hot Braised Chicken Wings
    PajFuabcha V.

My friend and I went here for some pho on a rainy day and it hit the spot! Service was quick and we had a great time. Lots of parking spot and seating in the restaurant. Portion was big and it was delicious! We also got Hot Braised Chicken Wings to share and those were also delicious!

What's pictured in this photo is P3 Pho, and Salt & pepper Squid and white rice.

So this place was recommended to me by my coworker. I had doubts because it's new ya kno. MaAaan the customer service was amazing, my order was taken right away and my food was on my table within 10 minutes. The pho was so good that I didn't even have to put all of the other condiments in it. #Bomb And don't let me get started with the Salt & Pepper Squid! Flavor in every bite for both dishes. As for the ambience of the restaurant... it was nice, not too much just simple and welcoming.

We ordered for pick up and the food hit the expectation of an average Americanized Chinese meal. We appreciated the multiple options within the combination platter. Between this and an order of wontons split between 5 people, this plate was plenty for two adults. Note - the menus/pricing listed on Yelp is out of date (as of 9/2023). For updated pricing, check out their website.

We just are here last night and I'm so mad.... At myself for not coming here sooner! I have been looking for Chinese food like this since I moved here from Los Angeles and have been consistently disappointed. But we finally have our go to spot. I tried the combo with kung pao chicken, lo mein, and fried rice, while my husband had the pho and a side of spring rolls. Sam, our waiter, was great! Super efficient and friendly. Food came out fast and was full of everything that I have been missing- lots of flavor, fresh and plentiful vegetables, and the meat was tasty and well cooked. Prices were reasonable and the portions were big. On the way out we chatted with Tim and the other owner (I can't recall her name). Really such nice people. I can't wait to go back and will be taking family when they are in town!

First time calling to do take out. Staff was friendly and helped explain their menu. I called at 7:15pm, didn't realize they closed at 8:30pm. I got there 50 minutes before they closed and seemed they were closing early. Had the closed vibe. Aside from that the food was quite good. I was pleasantly surprised for being a small place I didn't know what to expect. Flavor of the food was great and the portions were decent. For the sesame chicken combo it was $17.50. The chicken portion was a little small for being the main course. But there still was decent amount of food. Single Beef Low Mein was not a combo for $12.50, good portion. Shrimp spring rolls were $7.50. They were not supposed to be cut, they accidentally did that. But overall delicious meal and would like to try going there for a sit down experience next time. I recommend a try!

In all honesty, I think the vermicelli noodle was oka. It could have been better. The beef had its own flavor and it threw the fish sauce liquid off. The beef was very saucy so that why it threw the dish off. Some of the eggroll was burnt so it taste like burnt eggroll shells. The salty and spicy squid was very good. However, the batter was very overpowering the squid. The chicken was very good, but i thought it would be more spicy. It wasnt spicy at all, if they tell you it's spicy, don't believe them. It is actually super sweet. The pho was pretty good, it had a beefy broth and not too water down. The pho was not a disappointment! The service was oka, it could had been better, but we got seated in the far corner.

Clockwise: Mushroom fried rice, dumpling, cream cheese wonton, egg roll.

Our family got China Chef takeout today for the first time. We'll be back! We ordered dumplings, cream cheese wontons, and egg rolls to start. All of them were amazing, but the dumplings were a standout. Fresh and flavorful! I want to try the egg rolls in a bun salad next. For my main, I got the pho with veggies. I have a HIGH bar for pho, and this one met or maybe even exceeded it. The broth was rich and flavorful, but not oily. The veggies were fresh. The noodles were cooked perfectly. And it really hit the spot. 10/10, whew. So good. My family got mushroom fried rice, a shrimp stir fry, and I think chow mein (that was supposed to be mandarin chicken, but I think we got the wrong box - only reason for a one-star deduction). Overall, I would recommend this for takeout. Maybe next time we'll dine in! Glad it's local.

In…read morere-reading my reviews, I stand by everything I've said about the excellent consistent quality of the food, the service, and how much I enjoy coming to this restaurant. I truly hope they are around longer than I am. I would hate to find out this was one of the choices no longer available to us. Please read my previous reviews for a more inclusive view; this review focuses only on their lobster. I had previously mentioned that they prices of their lobsters (I love the version with black bean sauce) have gone up tremendously. While true, there seems to have been a subtle change in their pricing strategy. Previously (as of before the pandemic), the lobster was priced by the pound, which is the conventional way of doing it. However, they seem to have two lobster prices. The first one is called "Big Lobster" and they say it's between 2 and 2 and half pounds per lobster. The price of that (as of this review) is $56 dollars, or $28 per pound. That's not really a bad price at all. It's expensive, but reasonable. The other lobster is called "Live Lobster" and is priced $10 less at $46. So the real question is how much does this second version weigh? I ordered the Big Lobster, but they said they were out of it. I asked the weight of the "Live Lobster" but I didn't really get a straight answer, but he seemed to say "about two pounds" which doesn't really make sense because that's the price of the larger, more expensive lobster. But I decided to go for it anyway. As I stated in my last review, I'm guessing this lobster is at least two pounds, based on many years of eating lobster. For this review, I had ChatGPT translate the the Chinese on the menu, thinking it was secret code for "if you can read Chinese, save ten dollars by ordering this version" but AI says the Chinese means "lobster" so if you spoke Chinese, you'd still be mystified. So my recommendation is order the version that is ten dollars cheaper and you may (or may not) be paying $23 a pound. Price aside, I love this version of lobster and it is certainly a better deal than what you would pay at an American style seafood or steak restaurant in the Twin Cities.

We grabbed seats at their tiny 4-seat bar, which turned out to be the perfect spot for the evening. The service was fantastic from start to finish with everyone on the staff attentive, warm, and friendly. We went all-in and ordered the Potsticker Feast ($95): two of every kind of potsticker they make, plus all four dipping sauces, Ribeye Noodles, Korean Wings, General Tso's Chicken, and House Cucumbers. The potstickers were awesome but given the name of the place I was surprised that the real standouts were the other dishes. The ribeye was perfectly marinated and tender, tossed with a variety of vegetables and stir-fried noodles. The wings were terrific and the General Tso's was perfect. Don't sleep on the cucumbers either...smoky, spicy, and sweet, with peanuts and sauce. My favorite potstickers were the Beef & Carrots and the Kimchi Pork. If you're looking for scratch-made Asian fusion with great hospitality, Potsticker is hard to beat.

The server was very friendly and informative, even joked around with us a little. It didn't look like reservations were needed, except maybe on busy days like Mother's Day. The food was amazing. Potstickers were, of course, super good, but so was everything else. Portions were generous. I got the pork belly fried rice and I think I have enough leftovers for another three or four meals. There is a small parking lot in back, but you have to walk around the building to get to the door. I would say it is not handicapped friendly. If you park in back it would be hard to get to the door unless you are able to make it half way around the block. If you park in front it is just street parking. My dad uses a walker and we were lucky enough to get a spot right in front of the restaurant, anything else would have been a problem. Spacing inside the restaurant is pretty tight as well. Once dad sat down they had to take his walker into the back because there was no room in the seating area. We were packed in pretty tightly and very close to the table next to us. Overall, delicious food! We will be back!

Proteins all served at correct doneness in the Pho Dac Biet so you get the tougher cuts well done and rendered and the thin steak raw so it cooks in the broth. Great side accompaniments, Thai basil still on the stalk and living, fresh bean sprouts, Sri Racha and chiles in oil depending on your tastes, squirt bottle of hoisin. The only tiny nitpick I have is I wish they had bigger spoons available for those of us who like to mix sauces and soup in the spoon instead of muddying up the bowl. Also Vietnamese coffee is prepared old fashioned, not in a boba cup where you can't tell if it was made just now or weeks ago. Great service.
