We were very disappointed with another Asia restaurant in Stillwater and decided to try this hard to find location. Wow what a hidden gem, reasonable prices, good service, great food and nice portion size. We could not finish the lunch portion of entree and the obviously in house made jumbo egg roll with large pieces of chicken were a nice change from your normal restaurant fare. This restaurant is an only "to go" Chinese restaurant first and foremost. This was my 2nd time ordering from here. I'm gfree so ordering Chinese isn't always the easiest for me. They informed me to add it to the notes on the specific food item that I needed gfree on the web. Most recently I ordered gfree kung pao chicken and it was DELISH! First time visitor to Sky Dragon and I was very satisfied! My family gave great feedback with the exception of believing that they were a bit skimpy on the meat (I had to agree). Overall really delicious. We got General Tso's Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. The beef dish was mostly onions with very little beef. The Kung Pao Chicken had a nominal amount of chicken. But the General Tso's seemed like a good balance. With all that said, I'm mostly just saying these things to tell the whole story in what was a genuinely good first experience and a sense that I may have found a new favorite Chinese food restaurant. None of the dishes were completely absent of meat. Each had genuinely delicious flavor. In addition, the portions were good if not generous. The presentation was neat and orderly. Everything you need in take out Asian food. Tasty, consistent and affordable. Late last night I was in a hurry to find food for 10, this popped up on Yelp as it was nearby, I placed the order online, was there in less than 15 just before they closed and everything was just getting packaged up for us. JoJo greeted me and we both looked at each other Deja Vu style for a moment before she asked if she knew me. The moment she said that I remembered her from a decade ago at a fantastic Vietnamese restaurant in St. Paul called Que Nha that I frequented with my then very young children. JoJo warmly welcomed our family on each visit. My daughter who is now 14 quickly recalled that is where she had her first Bubble Tea. The online ordering platform BeyondMenu was not one I had ever heard of, so had a bit of hesitation. But everything worked just fine. It's take out only, so living more than an hour away probably means we won't be regulars which is too bad. read more

I went here based on the reviews. 4.6 stars at the time I am writing this. Either this is inflated by employees or the local population really needs to get out more. For starters Lo Mein is a specific type of noodle. What I got was not Lo Mein it was SPAGHETTI. More like (Lie Mein) because they are liars to call it something it is not. Second I have had General Tso's chicken from coast to coast and this was the least General Tso I have ever had. While I expect some variation this wasn't even close. Bottom line is you can do much better for Chinese food than this place. read more

Food was hot and portions were generous. Kung Pao chicken was great, a little light on the chicken but had plenty veggies and flavor (I did ask for it extra spicy). Egg roll was massive and delicious and cream puffs were filled with cream cheese and cooked to perfection. I would pass on the lemon chicken (too much breading and lemon sauce was blah), and the sesame chicken was rather flavorless. But the egg rolls, and Kung Pao are definitely worth another visit. read more

i admire the tenacity of this small local business. They are obviously a popular place as walked in to get a to-go order and the little lady running the show was busy as a bee. This was not a good experience. I ordered beef pho but they were out of beef so I settled for chicken. The noodles were kind of hard and the broth lacked flavor. I also ordered fried pot stickers, one side of them was soggy and the other side was burnt and tasted terrible. It was not very friendly customer service either. So - it's our fav spot for take out in Stillwater. It's the best option around. We love it. The thing that sucks is this, when you call to place your order, they say 20 minutes. When you walk in 20 minutes after calling, they check who you are......and my suspicion is THAT is when the cooking commences. We consistently wait 20+ minutes when we arrive. This has become a Rock Paper Scissors game with my wife and I....loser has to pick up, and sit and wait. Food is top notch! Love it! Waiting is a bummer. One of the better takeout places I've been to in the midwest. Garlic chicken was good. Egg roll was more deep fried than I'm used to but it was good. The hot and sour soup was probably the best I've ever had. It had some heat, it was sour, but had a hint of sweet that made it unique. Prices reasonable and quantity was right. read more
