    Lamb banh mi
    Ellie N.

I would not reccomend:(( This is a fusion viet /french spot, and I love fusion spots normally, but i don't think the flavors mixed well together. I had the lamb banh mi and I basically felt that I had a vegan Banh mi. I had only 1 layer of lamb, which I hardly tasted. Way overpriced for what you get. This is more expensive than a traditional banh mi I got the other day where they had actual meat and location was nearby. I only gave more than 1 star because the people are nice.

Stopped by for a quick lunch and tried the meat lovers pho. It's a super small shop and a bit of a different experience in terms of traditional pho. While the broth was just okay, some of the toppings aren't in traditional pho which wasn't my favorite but still tasted good. Still a solid bowl of pho but just expect less traditional toppings. The service and staff were friendly! They also had Banh Mi which I didn't get a chance to try but maybe I'll be back to try it.

    Vegan pho ($11.49). Bland.

Located in a tiny sliver of an Art Deco building in downtown Minneapolis, Come Pho Soup reminds me of walk-up spots around the world. If it were in any other part of town, I would have given it two stars, but downtown has so few decent options that Come Pho Soup is a welcome addition even if its food is underwhelming. I got the vegan pho ($11.49) and was not impressed by the bland, salty blahness of this dish. If you want better vegan pho, go to Jasmine 26 or Pho Tau Bay in Minneapolis. I also got a banh mi with tofu ($8.49). Unfortunately, the menu doesn't say that they'll add a non-vegan pate and a vinegar-y chili sauce to the dish, so I didn't actually end up eating this. That said, my partner did take a few bites and hated it. If you want the best vegan banh mi in town, go to Lu's or Lake and Bryant Cafe. I can't heartily recommend Come Pho Soup, but with so few options in downtown Minneapolis, I'm still glad this space isn't another Panera.

This is solid. In for business and I've already been twice. Bit of a walk from the convention center, but worth it.

DoorDash delivery and it was still nice and hot-ish! Tasty pho the way I ordered it with a lot of veg and extra chicken. Very satisfying.

This shop is in the same place as La Belle Crepe used to be. I love their bahn mi sandwiches. The best!

I walked in on a random Monday straight from the airport hoping to grab a seat at the bar. I was lucky enough to arrive right before dinner rush and snag the last seat available by the window bar even without a reservation. The hostess kindly took my carryon bag and stored it for me while one of the servers walked me to my seat. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Fantastic place to hang out and have fun while enjoying good food and drinks with friends. Feels more like an approachable bistro than a stuffy fancy restaurant. The menu is a playful take of American classics with a French twist or viceversa in some cases. I started my meal with a single oyster. Refreshing and bright, it was the perfect way to open the meal. Next was the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Presentation was a bit sloppy with some soup dripping on the side of the bowl, but the soup was so velvety and delicious I couldn't care any less about. The crispy bread and melty, gooey cheese was immediate comfort on a plate. The tanginess of the cheese went perfectly with the natural sweetness of the soup. Third course was one of the most delicious risottos I've ever had. Earthy mushrooms, creamy , perfectly cooked rice topped with crispy green apple sticks and.....blueberries?! Yes, you read that right... blueberries and apple in a risotto. I would have this vegetarian dish any day. Finally for desert angel fruit cake. Fluffy and not overly sweet. Perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. I could eat this every day

And I was on board. We made reservations without another thought. I ended up googling the menu and realizing my partner was a little off on what type of cuisine this was and I was in unfamiliar territory though still excited to try. We loved every second of our experience here! The decor was amazing, the service was exceptional, the food was to die for. They had a special Valentine's Day menu which included beef Wellington for two, so we got that. Asked if it had sides and they said no. I asked if a veg was possible, expecting frozen, microwaved bland veggies. We got beautifully roasted, seasoned veggies that were amazing. Plus the beef Wellington was melting in our mouths. Cocktails were also exceptional. We had an espresso martini and old fashioned which came with a table side experience. We ended our adventure with the sticky toffee torte which was another exceptional dish. Our server was so kind and so so knowledgeable about every item and restaurant in the owners catalog. Very impressive all around.

It's not that busy, maybe 10-20% full from 8:30 pm and beyond. Vibes = 2/10. What about the food? I've traveled all over the Mediterranean and Middle East. I'd give the Shashuka a 5-6 out of 10. It was supposed to be served with crepes and I had visions of Saluf and Sons Yemeni restaurant in Tel Aviv (now closed). Here it was served with a French bread / hot dog bun. Crepe???? I guess French bread and crepes are from the same country, but count me as unimpressed.

We were greeted at the entrance, jackets were taken, and drinks offered while we waited. The waiting space was small and a little awkward but it was fun to get serve right away with a friendly bartender. Seating is around the small, intimate bar where you observe the chefs preparing every dish for the night. The servers are shared so you don't get just one person for the night. We are not wine people, but I'd still recommend doing the wine pairings ,which is an extra add on. It was really fun to learn about the different wines and how they tasted with the plates. There is some down time in-between courses but nothing ever felt too long. It seemed like a perfect time to converse and enjoy watching the chefs do their thing. It took about 2.5hrs to finish our nine course meal. The courses were so tasty! I was a little nervous because of previous reviews but we really felt like every dish was put together nicely. We were so impressed with how intricate each dish was and how many ingredients came together. A favorite was the wagyu ribeye. Just so delicious. Yes, I wanted more, but it was about trying small plates and things you've never thought you'd try before. I was full and buzzed by the end of it. I also really appreciated getting the menu at the end of dinner. The whole time I was like what the heck did I just eat? Now, I can reflect on it even more. You are seated next to people but there was plenty of space where I didn't feel like my privacy was invaded. Everything about this experience felt intimate and well put together. Such amazing talent and delicious meals put together right in front of us.

There is a lot to say about this restaurant, and most of it is very good. The ambiance had perfect energy. It felt lively, but never loud or overwhelming. It struck a really nice balance for a special night out. You could comfortably enjoy the experience and conversation. The service was exceptional. Not just friendly, but incredibly knowledgeable. Every course and every pairing was explained in detail, and the staff clearly knew their craft. Service - they absolutely delivered. We chose The W.C. Whitney Menu. I had the Premium Wine Pairing, which was excellent and very well done. My wife chose the Temperance Pairing since she does not drink alcohol. This was one of the few disappointments of the evening. Many of the drinks were designed to mimic the taste of cocktails and wine, while my wife does not care for the taste of alcoholic drinks. When it came to the food, there was a range. Some dishes were truly outstanding and worthy of Demi's reputation. Some were good but not exactly great. And honestly, a few were mediocre. With a tasting menu, you expect some variation, but at this level and at this price, mediocre does not cut it. Here's what it really comes down to. I would rate the experience itself 5-stars. But the cost of the evening did not come close to matching what was delivered. I was not looking for, or expecting value! We spent over $700 for the evening. Demi is very good. The service is exceptional. The ambiance is awesome. Much of the food is outstanding. But in my opinion, the overall experience did not justify the extremely high cost.
