I am posting a picture of the egg sandwich because I couldn't find it originally when I was checking Yelp before ordering. The food is very good and beautifully plated presentation. It is exciting to eat it, but also just to see it arrive. The drinks were wonderful and staff very tentative. Big space off the Marriott side of the mall can accommodate many guests and sparkles with a fancy and fresh with earthy in mind atmosphere. My only issues was that there were so many great enticing menu items that I couldn't try more in one sitting because I have not yet evolved to consume 5 plates in one sit. This is an amazing place! It is a little more expensive but worth it and you will be treating yourselves. My wife loved the ambience and the service is what you would expect being in a high class hotel. Now to the food. The five star options that we would recommend would be the cauliflower for the appetizer, and for the entrée, believe it or not the Amish chicken is what you want. It features a honey lavender sauce that my wife said was the best chicken she's possibly ever had. High praise from an amazing cook herself! Another five star option would have to be the dark chocolate crème brûlée for dessert. One of the most amazing desserts you will have, again ever, if crème brûlée is your thing. The four star options would be the Brussel sprouts and the short rib entree which are close to 5's for sure but the sauce on the cauliflower and the chicken were just better. The picture of the cauliflower may not do total justice because we were so hungry we had a couple bites before we realized we wanted to take a picture. Grok recommended this restaurant when searching for "best places to eat at MOA." Since we were staying at the JW the convenience of this made it a no brainer. We arrived for an early dinner, just before 5pm. Only one other table seated so we expected quick service. Our server Jaden seemed to be the only server there. We were passed by several times and finally greeted and our beverage order taken. The mulled sangria was so bitter, I do not recommend ordering this $16 drink. We orders the truffle fries to start our meal. Best part and the highlight of our experience...fries. The filet was tough, it was hard for me to watch my husband cut his steak with the knife due to the sawing motion (we ordered it medium). The $18 side of garlic shrimp that we added onto the $58 steak were just ok. Beautifully presented but also mediocre was the short rib. While super tender it lacked flavor and depth even w the Demi glacé. Grits and micro greens surrounded the short rib which were also flavorless and a bit "sticky" in texture compared to other grits I've had. My guess is they were overcooked. We skipped dessert and any other cocktails as we decided to peruse other venues at the MOA who offered holiday cocktails. Disappointed that Cedar + Stone didn't have any holiday offerings and weren't able to craft any from their bar staples. The restaurant is modern in decor, tables offered privacy and ample space but the timing, attentiveness and execution of our meal fell extremely short. No great views and nothing remarkable about the inspiration for design here. Overall, we were disappointed we chose this restaurant for our "staycation" dinner (as kid-free nights to dine out are a rarity for us) and we were really looking forward to trying out the menu. I asked for lots of cream & she actually brought lots of cream! The restaurant week special is what I got, and I didn't even finish half of it. We had a reservation for a group of 4 to celebrate my friend's birthday. Service was fantastic from the moment we walked in, with welcoming and friendly greeters and servers. We ordered a few things to share since we all wanted to try a few different dishes. We landed on the margherita pizza, which was a tasty Neapolitan style; the seasonal pasta, which had the tastiest pesto and ricotta; the roasted carrots, which were cooked perfectly; and the meatballs, which were the only letdown since they were fairly dry. For dessert, we had the butterscotch bread pudding and chocolate crème brûlée. Both were delicious but the bread pudding was definitely the star of the show. Honestly bummed to be writing this because I had only heard good things, but my visit tonight left a lot to be desired. First, the good: our server was super friendly and attentive. She deserves all the credit for making this evening enjoyable. The cocktails, especially with ingredients from the garden, were very tasty. The everything else: as a large party of 12, we expect things to take longer when you're ordering in larger quantities. However, the appetizers were very slow to come out of the kitchen and 1 person's dinner was incredibly delayed compared to the rest of the group. The restaurant didn't seem incredibly busy, so the kitchen shouldn't have been backed up. Additionally, the steaks ordered were not cooked correctly. But with how long the food took to come out, we didn't risk sending anything back. For example, my filet I ordered medium rare, it came out with NO pink as was definitely well done. Eloisa is amazing! So friendly and attentive! She treated us like family (the kind you like). She even brought my wife a birthday card on her birthday! We had the opportunity to meet Chef Kunal. What a great chef! He took the best care of us and the food was outstanding! Our favorite items were the cinnamon swirl french toast and the vegan hash. Although, everything was really good! Chef Kunal is very personable and has a passion for what he does. We also met the restaurant manager, Solomon. He is doing a great job as the cleanliness of the restaurant and friendliness of the staff are a reflection of his leadership. Overall, everyone went above and beyond. This is an amazing gem hidden in the mall of America. We arrived here after a morning of enjoying the mall of America and it was a lovely quiet refuge amidst the chaos of the mall. The server and hosts were chatty, smiley, and engaging. We were sat fairly quick inside as requested. Our server took our drink orders and food orders fairly quick. The menu was amazingly still brunch (we did not plan for this but were very happy). I got sourdough, eggs over medium, potato's and chicken sausage. I also ordered a green tea. My tea was phenomenal. They had a whole setup, honey, delicious tea, and a way to ensure you don't over or under steep based on preferences. We snuck in at the last minute which I think may be why my chicken sausage was not warm. My friend got an identical meal almost to me and her toast was burnt but we got a new set free of charge and this was greatly appreciated. My other friend got a burger which he raved about. And I stole a few fries which were so so very delicious (highly recommend). My breakfast potato's were pure white potato's but it also included sweet potato's, and purple potato. Overall I would visit here again as the food and tea were delicious. We had ticket to Cirque across the street and gave ourselves about 70 minutes to get dinner here. They ignored us the first 10 minutes and then we got nervous that we might not have enough time and needed to switch to fast food. A server approached us with a "has anyone helped you yet?" Which was to me an indication of an unorganized system. From there, everything went uphill. The service was fine (not overly attentive, but fine.) A manager helped us determine which food would come out faster (you hate to hurry $30-50 entrees) and they did come out in record time. Everything was tasty, especially the Brussel sprouts! The fish was a scant 3-4 oz portion, but it looked and tasted very good. It was fun to sit outside in June (even if the planes from the nearby airport were a little loud. Hey, at least it reminded us to travel!) We'll give them another try on a day when we are in a more leisurely mood. :) read more

I have been to Cedar + Stone several times and continue to be impressed by my experiences there. They offer a wonderful menu from breakfast through dinner and the quality of the food and level of service is always excellent. From the Chicken & waffles or Steel Cut Oats at breakfast or brunch, to Martinis and crafted cocktails, to their terrific wild rice soup and lunch or dinner fare I don't think I have had anything that was not good. The atmosphere is modern but not cold and the location allows you to stop during a day of shopping or as a guest at the hotel or just for a meal. There is an underground lot and they used to validate the ticket for a reasonable time to have a meal, but I usually park for the mall and just walk inside the mall. read more

We flew to Minneapolis with my husband for a work trip. I had not eaten all day. I searched Yelp for some good eats near the airport. My hubby all of a sudden remembered that he had a couple of great dinners at Cedar + Stone, Urban Table which is located at the JW Marriott hotel that is attached to the Mall of America. We valet parked at the hotel. The restaurant will validate your parking ticket, FYI. We took the elevator up to the main floor and walked into a modern and well decorated restaurant. The restaurant was open and extremely nice; however, you can come casual in dress. We were greeted by a happy waiter (Billy), who was enthusiastic and ready to get us going. He recommended certain dishes on the menu, and I was thankful for that. What caught my eye under the appetizers were the scallops and pork belly. We opted for that as a starter. It came out in about 10 minutes. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the pork belly was so tender and had so much flavor. Next we ordered our dinner. We both chose the mushroom risotto. I added shrimp to mine and the hubby added chicken to his. The risotto was also perfectly cooked. The temperature was just right too. The shrimp had tails on them but it was still good and tender. I also asked for gluten-free bread. It was toasted and came out with salted butter. The butter and bread were delicious as well. Overall, my experience here was great, and Billy was phenomenal and gave great customer service. I would definitely recommend this spot to those looking for a great dinner near the Mall of America. I don't have high expectations for an "upscale" restaurant that's located at the mall of America. There are just so many other options to compete with here that I don't see the uniqueness and quality in the experience. I appreciated the options on their menu and can understand some of the prices because some of the ingredients are local. We tried some cocktails, the wild rice soup, Amish chicken and waffles, and the skuna bay salmon. The food was delicious, especially the soup and Amish chicken. The chicken was perfectly crispy without too much batter. The sweet syrup and maple butter was a great addition to the dish. For the salmon dish, I felt like the actual fish was drowned out by the the sweet potato purée and and creamed kale. I sorta felt like I was eating baby food with the purée but the taste was good! I wished the salmon had more of the maple glaze that was mentioned in the description. The salmon was $42 and you did get a large portion size. The chicken and waffles was $24, soup was $12. Our service was excellent! We could not figure out parking at the hotel so we just parked at the mall ramp and walked through nordstroms. The scampi were delicious as well, although they firstly came out raw. Yes, you read that correctly. Uncooked. The manger quickly fixed the error, but we had another issue.. ... Our potato cake which came with our entree came out frozen. Yep. Frozen on the inside, fried on the outside. The experience in itself could have been a terrible one, but our server and the manager quickly fixed the issue to the best of the ability. Which is why I am giving three stars versus two. We were however, a bit off put the they didn't do anything to comp or remove one of them items. Especially if food was being served, frozen and raw. This also took away from our dining experience, as much of our food was missing while it was supposed to be consumed together.. ugh A bit discouraging but we would definitely like to try it again. Two tables next to us were seated and one table literally ate their entire meal and we still were waiting for our appetizer. The steak was cooked perfectly to our liking with a tasty char and served with a sauce that was actually delicious. I normally don't dip my steak in A1 or anything like that but it was a nice smoky balsamic flavor. We asked for something spicy and our waitress gave us a delicious spicy paste that I mixed with the sauce - o m g it was SO GOOD. I showed up at 3:50 lunch on a layover. I was offered a choice of a seat in the bar or the restaurant and I chose the bar. I was also offered a choice of the lunch menu, which was ending at four in the dinner menu. I appreciated the opportunity to order from either. There was only one other patron at the time, and he left shortly after I sat down. The bartender was friendly and helpful, But not overly attentive, given the fact that I was the only customer at the moment. I ordered the Minnesota wild rice soup, which was excellent. The Revol Farm salad was not only delicious to eat, but very pleasing to the eye. It was a nice portion size and complemented the soup. I added buttered garlic prawns, and while they were tasty, they were slightly over cooked. Since this was to be my only meal of the day, I decided to order dessert, and on the recommendation of the bartender/waiter I opted for the butterscotch bread pudding. I am not really a fan of butterscotch nor bread pudding, but I am so thankful I ordered this delightful dessert. I actually groaned audibly more than once, as I devoured this perfect sweet treat! It took everything I had to not actually lick the plate. My entire meal came to just over $60 with only water to drink. The food was excellent, the service was fantastic. They have a compact food menu that has wings, pizza, and salmon. They have have some savory signature cocktails as well. I ordered a Tropical Heat to get the party going. It was very flavorful and tasty. It had a bit of a punch to it, just like I like it. I ordered some of their wings with fries and an apple crisp for dessert. It took about 10 to 15 minutes for me to get my food. The wings were ok. I will admit that I am not a fan of dry rub though. They did have a little kick to them though. I got a ton of fries and they were pretty good. The apple crisp was to die for. I highly recommend it. The staff here is awesome, very friendly and personable. The corn purée with it was wonderful. My friends downed their grilled chicken, both said it was moist. The bread pudding stole the show. A mix of french toast and butterscotch, but not too sweet.
