I had an ok experience at this mochinut location. The food was good, but the big letdown was service. I stopped in around 8:00pm on a Monday. I was a bit surprised they were still open, which was nice! I had to wait a little bit to put in my order & the waitstaff wasn't super friendly. I got my donut quickly, but it took quite a while for my potato dog to be made. While I was waiting someone came inside and started handing out pamphlets/ soliciting business, which made me feel really uncomfortable. I got my food to go & completely forgot to get condiments, so my potato dog wasn't super great haha. The mochi donut was pretty delicious. - it has a nice texture and the toppings were good too. My potato dog was good, but a bit dry, especially without condiments. It felt like the inside was a bit dirty and untidy as well.. overall - I don't think I'd come back to this location. There are plenty of other nice mochi donut shops that have better service, no solicitors, and cleaner interiors. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon after lunar year carnival close by so, it was PACKED! However the ambiance was busy but not necessary overwhelming. The donuts were very fluffy (glazed and birthday cake) , a tad oily but the glaze crisp and the strawberry one were really yummy. This is new favorite spot for a quick bite! The hot dogs were so filling and very good! I highly recommend the cheddar hotdog with hot cheetos because everything went perfectly together. I probably would not order the potato hot dog again (although it was delicious) since it was a little more on the dry side. It feels a little confusing when when Mochinut, Sul Bing Su, and ChungChun (#1) all share one space. It's neither like those semi-rando fast food chain splits (#2) nor a food court with multiple stalls. This is the same kitchen, yet not exactly a ghost kitchen either. It just means we can order a bing su, soft serve, donuts, Korean corn dogs, and mochi donuts at the same time (#3). This review is really for the latter. While mochi donuts are a reality in Houston now, there still isn't much saturation market wise. This location is one of the only places where one can get some. Their donuts are most definitely true to mochi form, embodying what really made Mochinut as a brand take off in the first place. With every bite, there's a little density and a lot of chew. The donuts come in a variety of flavors, which include gummy (bears), fruity pebbles, yuzu, churro, oreo, ube, and nutella. Ube has been the winner for me so far but I'm always looking forward to their seasonal flavors come Fall. Service is going to vary, since it's likely everyone is in line is there for something different. They were really slow in the past, but I think they've gotten better over time. The advantage of ordering donuts is that they are right behind the counter, where as every other food item needs to be made to order. I was dying to try these new donuts. I see them popping up everywhere. I googled a location that sold these come to find out it was an hour away! I was determined to get one or should I say sum. I was kind of upset to see only 6 flavors available and 1 was sold out and it was only 5pm I wish they had more options. The donut itself was most and chewy, it reminds of donuts holes just stuck together but it's fun to pull them apart as you eat them. The staff was nice and friendly. This is a one stop shop for Korean hot dogs, shaved ice, and mochi donuts! Located on the opposite corner of 7 Leaves, in the same center as H-Mart. I've been here several times (between 5 and 10) before and I'm not sure why I didn't leave a review until now. These are my favorite mochi donuts in the city - perfectly chewy with a wonderful bounce and not overly sweet despite the glaze. They remind me of the mochi donuts I loved in Asia. I follow them on Instagram to know what 6 flavors they'll be offering, which generally changes every 2 days. The location is long with plenty of seats (but I can see it getting crowded fast) and a shared parking lot. My last visit, I went on a Sunday afternoon and there was a steady line with maybe 1/3 of the tables full. Cleanliness was fine. Service was adequate - not all that friendly but they did their job, basically. They don't really go above and beyond though. My only complaints: the donuts are on the slightly greasy side. I remember getting another mochi donut from a visiting pop up from Dallas and those weren't as greasy. BUT these are donuts and donuts are not meant for daily consumption so I can overlook it. The other thing is because they share the same space with hot dog making, a part of me does worry about cross-contamination. The donuts haven't tasted funny the times I've went, so I'm hoping they do use separate fryers for the two. My family is vegetarian and we're on the strict side. Some of their donuts are "marked" with candy that contains gelatin. For example, when I went, their original and lychee flavored donuts looked exactly the same, but their lychee ones had a single gummy bear on top. That meant I couldn't get the lychee flavor; I asked if there were lychee ones without the gummies and she sort of looked lost at me. LOL. Needless to say, I got the original instead. Despite the little blips, my picky daughter loves these and so do I! My husband is neutral but he's generally that way towards food. To my knowledge, these are not gluten-free... and I'm not sure about eggs. I know my sister can't have them and she's vegan; I forgot if it's because they contain milk, eggs, or both. My youngest, who has a number of food allergies, have not tried these yet and I'm not sure if he ever could. read more

So, first off: Mochinut, Sul Bing Su, and ChungChun are all the same location. One building, one counter, on order. It gets busy fast. I went on a Sunday, a little after opening. There really wasn't a line when I got there, but as I ate, I noticed there was almost a constant line. The mochi donuts were really good! It was my first time having them. They were soft and fluffy but also chewy. I like this texture better than regular donuts. We got one of each of the flavors they had available that day. The ube kinda just tasted like fruity pebbles, but it was good nonetheless. I think the churro was my favorite out of the six. The tea was good and refreshing - normal boba tea stuff. They don't have a huge selection of flavors, though. The Korean corn dogs were great. I'd never had one before. Nice crunchy exterior. I got the hot Cheetos on mine. Definitely do that again. You can get it plain, hot Cheetos dusted, or Korean style - sprinkled with sugar. I wasn't sure about the sugar, but I might try it another time. They also had some dipping sauces available: sweet chili, mango habanero, and cheese. I'd like to go back and try one with the potato coating. At first I wasn't sure if I had the right place. I've never really seen a combo store type Mochinut. It was like they decided to add extra types of food offerings into one location. I think they would have been better off if they were in their own little store but I can understand the overhead cost of a brick and mortar. With all that being said, nice employees. Clean place. Doesn't have a specific smell to it so that's new for my ol factory. Most places with fried food options tends to have a greasy smell...but this place did not, Choices for flavors were a bit limited today. Not sure if they change flavors every few days or every week. I get my usual Glazed and usually two other flavors in a three pack but nothing was appealing to me at moment. So today I only got the glazed. It tasted as it should...a chewy donut hole pull apart lol . I love the mochi in it bc it makes these donuts chewier. Stoked about trying suddenly crashed when came across cashier. She was unfriendly and more focused on the line. When someone usually says it's there first time here, the staff greets them and tells them what's popular. Or gives them some type of direction on how to order. Why stay longer in the establishment if we already don't feel welcome. Our first time having mochi donuts they were ok. Reminded me of marshmallows which I'm not a huge fan of. Also thought they would give more variety on flavors and be more fresh..they have them on racks behind the cashiers and they do not stay warm. One word, CUTE! My 5-year-old opened up the box and screamed, Wow! Flower Donuts! All excited, she couldn't wait to bite into this chocolate iced mochinut, but then she gave me a funny face, handed the mochinut back to me and walked away. She didn't like it because it didn't taste like the regular donuts that she loves to eat. To me, the mochi donuts were A-OK and tasted somewhat eggy like the Hong Kong egg waffles. I have enjoyed the chewiness because I like almost everything made with glutinous rice or rice flour, but wish that the flavors could be more distinctive. Covered by a cute and bright little yellow box, these mochi donuts are the best I've had in Houston so far! Chewier than your normal donuts and shaped into a flower ring, these donuts are easy for you to pinch off bite sized pieces :) ... dare I say they taste slightly healthier since they don't leave as much greasy residue on your paws too?? There are a ton of flavors to choose from other than your normal vanilla and chocolate, like Oreo, fruity pebbles, and churro. I thought I already wrote a review but I guess my memory failed me. I really enjoy the mochi doughnuts here and I do like how their menu is rotated so you can always try a new flavor. Check out their IG for the menu that day. My favorite is the original though. Ube is a close second favorite. My boyfriend really loves original and churro as well. A part of me does wish that they served these warm, I feel like it would add to the awesome texture they have going on. Mochinut compared to your typical doughnut is more chewier and bouncy. I would say they're also not as sweet as your standard doughnut. I like it here and my boyfriend and I come here when we want a quick dessert after a meal. My sister got the brown sugar milk tea pictured and I had a small sip. It was okay... I personally wouldn't get it though. The food is constantly being made, so you may wait a short time to receive your order. But the items are fresh. The mochi donuts are pretty good. They rotate through a variety of flavors with about 6 options at a time. The rice based dough has a softer chewier texture than traditional donuts. It also has a bit of a carnival fried dough like taste. The glaze/toppings do add an additional flavor profile to each donut. Some are stronger in flavor than others. I visited New York couple months ago to visit a friend and we ended up trying a spot that served Mochi Donuts. It was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. It was mind blowing good. Fast forward to now craving, another Mochi Donut back in Houston (Home Town). I had huge expectations, and this place definitely did not disappoint. We had the Churro flavor, chocolate, Ube, and original. When they're fresh out it basically melts in your mouth. Even when they're chilled it still had a nice taste to it with the light glaze. I'd definitely check this place out if you're into or wanting to try out a Mochi Donut. They have nice Korean Corn dogs too. The spicy sausage was good. Their spicy Mayo is actually cracked and the addition of spicy/hot Cheeto crust for only .50¢ extra is worth it. I'm not sure what Ube milk tea is but I'm always down to try new things. It tasted very similar to Taro. +1 The boba has a nice texture and has that solid doneness to it unlike the other kinds where it's all slimy. Overall, this place is doing it well!
