Very disappointed with my experience at Shipley Do-Nuts. Kimberly was extremely rude while taking my order and had a dismissive attitude the entire interaction. When I later called to speak with a manager about the situation, she responded, "I am the manager," and told me to contact the franchise if I had an issue. Absolutely disgusting, our donuts had mold on it and it was cold, COLD AND MOLDY? Absolutely not.. When we called the store to let them know, whoever answered said it's from the grease and said that they know what it is and it's not mold... okay sure! Shipley is a beloved local donuts brand of greater Houston. I dropped by this location to purchase a dozen glazed and a dozen chocolate covered glaze for a office breakfast. The glazed donuts, as always were fresh, sweet, soft, and delicious. The same was true of the chocolate covered. The counter lady was friendly and quick. We have been seeing Shipley Do-Nuts all around the city. I promised my daughter we would get some before we left Houston. Well, the time finally came and she couldn't wait. After walking in, we were greeted by an associate who gave us a warm welcome and a bright smile. She was in the back prepping dough, but quickly cleaned her hands and came over to serve us. I ordered the Bavarian Cream, my son had the Vanilla Sprinkles, and my daughter had both a Cinnamon and a Glazed Coconut. The donuts were fresh, cake-like and very tasty. Well worth the trip. Not to be confused with Snipley Do Nots, which is a place where they "Do Not" do Circumcisions (they do really). This is your typical Houston donut shop and one of the best donut shops in the South, despite being a chain all over the area. They remind me of Krispy Kreme when they're hot - which is gooey and fresh and delicious. It's a good location with pretty good service most of the time. read more

Omgg.. this place smells amazing!!! The kolaches and the donuts are ready to go and the service is great.. Walked in and out in 5 minutes..with 2 kolaches, hot chocolate, and half a dozen donuts. The donuts were fresh and warm..not too sweet and perfectly glazed. Each bite melts in your mouth..in lightly doughy goodness. They aren't heavy like the kind you get from the grocery store. Ohmigashtheyaresoyummy. The kolaches are good. I got the sausage and cheese...its basically a hot dog in a bun. Not too shabby..these really don't keep though. IMHO best donuts ever. The glazed donuts aren't drenched in sugar with a thin coating of sugary sweetness. The donut is soft and fluffy on the inside with an outside shell that offers a good bite - try to get one in the morning as they are made fresh daily. Leave it for a day and you get a completely different but equally delicious experience. If you are looking for colorful donuts, this is probably not your place. While they do have other options (cake donuts, cream filled, iced, etc), they aren't going for the wow factor (like Voodoo Donuts in Portland). The iced donuts are also a good option and unlike other places, only have an iced layer on top (not a glazed with another layer of icing on top). Also try the kolaches. I especially like the sausage, jalapeno & cheese kolache. The breading is soft and fluffy and the jalapeno gives it enough kick but doesn't over do it. They also offer coffee and milk to those that want the complete morning one stop shop but I personally never had any. read more

Shipley Do-Nuts is Houston's quintessential donut shop. It's also a chain, so food quality is pretty standardized from store-to-store, and I have never had anything bad from any location. This is the one I visit most often as it's right around the corner from my house. Food is freshly made daily and prices are reasonable. I have gotten coffee here only once and it wasn't worth it, though not bad, but there's a Starbucks around the corner, so get food here, then make a Starbucks run for a fantastic (if ungodly unhealthy) breakfast. read more

I went in the store at about 6:45 pm to check if there's any kolaches left and there's was only one lady in the store washing trays. I called upon her several times thinking the sound of the water drown my voice but not once she gave a stir. She knew my presence as she did gave a slight turn of her head when I entered the store. Some of my favorite donuts are found in this location of Shipley's! This popular donut franchise is settled in a clean and quaint neighborhood in Sugar Land. In close proximity to everything that's around me. Their are many shops tucked in the plaza and its one of my favorite places to stroll around the area. After grabbing some donuts, I often walk into Half Priced Books and just enjoy my leisurely afternoon. Or sometime's I'll get my nails done at Nails By Yen, tucked in the corner of that plaza. Anyhow, the donuts here are fresh and the icing is always crisp. I recommend the butterfly roll, which literally tastes like a cinnamon roll combined into a donut. Twisty and delish! The apple fritters are great here as well, big, crisp and loaded with chunks of diced apple. My other favorites are the cake donuts (plain, glazed and blueberry). A small grab and go location yet it has everything you need to satisfy your donut cravings! Sweetly loaded yet oh so yummy! Try out this location in Sugar Land if in the area! read more
