This was my first time here and I haven't had really good Thai food in a bit. As always my food cravings usually line up nicely with my having to study, and Franklin is my go to for studying, food, and drinks. Let's get to it. Such a simple decor, welcoming atmosphere. I seated myself as it wasn't super busy, but I'm sure that'll soon change because the food is legitimate. Whenever i try a Thai place for the first time, I always go for my staple: Spicy Basil Chicken Fried Rice-- no pineapple in this one, but clearly I didn't mind because I literally just realized it didn't have any as I am writing this review. Guys, I love spice. Guys, this was... I don't even have words. So well seasoned, chicken was well cooked. I took the onions and string beans out of my order and it still tastes amazing. Not to mention, as a beverage I had the Thai Iced Tea because what Thai experience would be completed without it? I normally don't write a review on the first go, but this was well-deserving. The food is amazing, but the customer service is terrible. Tonight, my wife and I were on the road and decided to stop in to pick up some dinner for the family . We ordered the food to go and a beer to have while we waited.  We paid using debit card and I skipped the tip because I was going to give it with cash when we got our food. From then I noticed a change in the waitress attitude, but I ignored it. We waited standing up for about 10 mins and saw a few empty tables that no one occupied so we decided to sit at one while we waited. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes while I had my beer, contemplating on ordering some mojitos. Here comes the server, she literally drops the food on the table with an attitude. So, I was like "excuse me what is the problem why you had to drop the food on the table like that"? She then says we have people waiting for the table and it was reserved. Keep in mind no one never said anything to us or asked us to move (which we would have done with no issue) So now she saw that I was not pleased with her attitude and tried to down play her actions. From what I gathered she was upset that we didn't leave a tip on the machine. So, after we left my wife wanted to know what was all of that for and I told her she is probably upset that I didn't tip. My wife then went back in the restaurant and gave her a $20 tip even though she treated us like we just didn't spend $108 at the establishment or like we begged for free food. Never had we experienced anything like this before. I didn't get the server's name, but just wanted you all to know this is not how you treat your paying customers. It gave a racism feeling. I even sent the owner an email about this matter and have not gotten a reply. read more

So, so good! We came here for dinner on Saturday night. After a lot of cocktails with brunch, I needed something for dinner with a kick of spices and seasoning to pep me up. We live locally, so I didn't want to go far and Yelped for Thai Food in the area. At first, I was a little unsure. Asian fusion always worries me and I was concerned it would be another hip little joint that was popular without delivering much. My fears were unnecessary! We ordered the masaman curry (tofu), the duck in a pond noodles and started with the chicken puffs. My only issue is that there are only two puffs in a serve. Just ate here for the first time and I had a great experience. I got pickup and was pleasantly surprised with the thoughtful packaging. I got spring rolls and figured they'd lose their crunch by the time I got home, but thanks to the packaging they were still crispy!! I was suspicious that a place serving both pho and ramen could be good; I normally have had good ramen at places that only serve ramen. MISC pretty much nails both. My gf and I had pho, tonkotsu ramen and a side of bok choy. The broths were flavorful and the meat portions were generous. You pay ahead of time, which is nice, and while everything seems a dollar overpriced, you don't tip, so the bill actually comes out pretty manageable. The atmosphere is nice; they play good music and it's cozy and well decorated. I had one problem; the egg in the ramen was hard boiled. MISC, if you're reading this, fix that! Awesome spot! The sea breeze drinks are great. The food is so good. I ordered the drunken noodle, classic fried rice, pork buns, Franklin wings, and chicken puff. I probably won't order the puffs again because they were just decent but everything else was delicious!!! I only wish that they're appetizers had bigger portions. I had 3 other people with me and each appetizer except for the wings came in pairs so we had to cut them in half to divide it amongst 4 people. Other than that, I was happy with this restaurant. My partner and I went yesterday and we ended up walking out. As soon as we walked in they told us no cards only cash, but when other ppl came in afterwards and they told them nothing. 2. We had to ask to be served. No one came to us 3. We ordered appetizers and waited and waited until we had to call them and ask what happened to the appetizers. Wow! My roommate was insistent we come try this place because he is always ordering take-out from here. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I am glad I made the jump to come out here. We ordered the calamari fritters and supreme ribs to start with. I am in love with the calamari. It was the right amount of batter to meat ratio and fried just right! I could have eaten that alone all night! The ribs were pretty lackluster though. Not too much flavor in that one. I ended up ordering the Small Island (Khao Sowy) and I was super impressed. TERRIBLE: I highly suggest you avoid this place at all costs. Don't even look at it, I went here with my family (party of 4) and the restaurant was half full of customers, 10-20 minutes before their closing a new group also joined and ended up staying later than us. At this time the atrocious and immensely disrespectful waitress kept putting the bill in front of my face to pay when I'm still halfway thru my dinner. Customers nearby were surprised as well that a restaurant can even treat their customers like that. They don't care about you or their service, all they care about is your money. I had to ask 3-4 times for a fork. And to top all of this off- this same waitress came to the table added a huge pre-decided tip on the new receipt, slammed it in front of me and started shouting at me aggressively that I must pay at this very moment. No calm request or anything. When I stood up to discuss this matter with her on the side, she was shoving into me and up in my face shouting at the top of her lungs like a lunatic. And after I did pay the bill I left without a word but heard her saying F off to me on my way out. Had Misc takeout (pickup) and it was good. Ordered chicken puffs, Massaman curry and tonkatsu ramen. Everything was very flavorful and was ready at the restaurant when they said it would be. Didn't experience much of the service but they were very nice in the few moments I did. One complaint is all the dishes were very oily. The fried puffs I understand, but the ramen had a very large layer of fat/oil on top of the soup, and the curry was oily. You can tell they make their tonkatsu broth from Bones and fat and not powder or bullion, but I hope they'll consider scraping the fat that rises to the top off. Prices are also a bit high and portions not that large. Nonetheless, this is a nice new spot in the neighborhood and I look forward to trying other dishes. read more

If you have gluten sensitivity don't eat here. They mark things as gluten free, but I got poisoned by the pad Thai- guessing they cooked it in a pan that something soy sauce laden was cooked in without washing it in between. I even made sure to notate on my order that I had gluten & soy allergies. The food wasn't really that good either- curry was watery and bland and the pad Thai mostly just tasted like fish sauce. This place had a really nice ambiance and the service was really great. A sign of good cuisine is when you leave with a good taste in your mouth, and I don't think I have to finish that sentence given the fact that I rated 5 stars. I'm usually not a Drunken Noodles person but the ones here are REALLY good (we got them with beef). Very delicious and great aftertaste. The Sautéed Chicken with garlic sauce was really great too, not too garlicky and not too not. Would recommend. In addition we got the Tropical Fried Rice since other people on yelp raved about it. While I wouldn't consider it much of a meal alone since it's basically all rice with some chicken and pineapple (would love more in there!), admittedly it was pretty flavorful and I had a few bites that were outstanding. Fried rice is fried rice and unless it's cheap I don't really see how you can go wrong, but that's just me and maybe you'll like it like the other people. It did go well with the other food we got, especially the Sautéed Chicken which had extra sauce. The bathroom was also nice and clean in case that's what you look for in a good restaurant. Misc has a warm and interesting interior. One wall is made of brick and the other is smooth with interesting streaks of paint. There are tiny bouquets on all tables which I thought was a nice touch. The customer service was excellent. I personally wasnt that impressed by my food. It was just ok. However, I liked the other things more than my entree so maybe just a better choice on my part if I come back. We had a shrimp appetizer and a duck roti wrap. The duck roti wrap was good spring mix, cucumbers and scallion with duck, more greens than meat so if that's not your style don't get it. But it was a refreshing appetizer. The shrimp was better in my opinion. It was fried and covered in little pieces of mango I thought but looking back on the menu pics maybe it was pineapple. Anyway it was good. I had the spicy basil fried rice for my entree. The portion size is big enough for 2 people. It was ok, medium spicy and a few basil leaves thrown in. I think I would have preferred noodles. . As someone who is always looking for the best ramen in the NY area, MISC definitely offers one of the best. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, and although it took a bit of waiting time, it was worth it. The pork was done well, and the soup base tasted just right (not too rich and salty). Overall, the staff members and food were great. We ordered drinks and food and they came out relatively quickly. I had a Paloma cocktail and thought it was really tasty. We ordered the pork buns to start - so good!
