I've been craving this Japanese staple since I left Japan so when in Brooklyn this week we decided to check it out. The inside experience was very similar to the location in Tokyo. You order at the counter and then you can sit in individual booths where they serve the food. The food was good (of course not as good as the 4 times we visited in Japan) but it was a close second. The broth in Japan felt like a warm hug every time we experienced it. This location was good but the bowls they served it in felt shallow and like we didn't get enough of the broth. Overall the experience was good and an enjoyable spot for Ramen in NY.

So glad to be able to enjoy Ichiran in the states! The broth was very rich and creamy, full of flavor. Loved how it came out pipping hot- just how I like my ramen. The servers are nice and responsive. You have to option to sit in the individual booths like in Japan or regular dining tables. Definitely satisfied the ramen craving.

This place is michelin guided for a reason. Came on a Sunday at 5pm in the middle of a winter storm and there was still a line. We ordered and sat in 20 mins. Love how the ramen bowl is totally customizable. I got the tonkustu and got everything how they recommended it. This ramen was amazing. Also love how the interior makes you feel like you're in a ramen shop in Japan.

Finally dropped by Brooklyn Ichiran - we were seated very quickly in booths. The ramen was decent and service was quick and smooth. You place your orders on and ipad before getting seated. Water is self service and the signage in the booths were very cool to read. It was also great to be able to open a wooden slit/dividers to connect neighboring booths for our party of more than 1. Although the experience was the quintessential ichiran experience, the price however was a downer. 26.99 for the ramen with all the toppings. It's just a little too pricey for me feel that it was worth the cost. We did it once, and probably won't come back again. Still a nice spot to get ramen if you don't mind the hit on your wallet.

Super yummy ramen and I love the concept of being able to eat privately. I have no complaints other than the "spicy" broth option not actually being spicy. The restaurant is clean and service is friendly!

There's pretty much one thing on the menu and it makes sense why. The ramen is SO good. You order at the kiosk at the front and then head inside with your tickets. If you're with a group you can open up the partitions, if you're by yourself and want a nice quiet bowl of ramen to yourself you can close them up. Someone will open the blind in front of you and take the tickets, then give you your food when it's ready. Basically you just modify how much spice, garlic, scallion, etc you want, then decide if you want to add all the toppings or just a few. I opted to do the full topping set and I think it was worth it for the extra pork and soft boiled egg. The ramen really is amazing. They know what they're doing! The matcha beer was expensive at $12 but interesting and not something I had ever had before. But I like that it's a non-tipping establishment, makes things quick and easy to just pay at the start and go whenever you're ready. I will gladly return one day soon!

I love Ichiran! Their ramen is a bit pricey at around $20 but it always hits every single time. I ordered the veggie ramen made as they recommend and it's delicious. I love that you can taste the oil and garlic in the broth, and the texture of the noodles is also soft and satisfying but with a bit of chew. The depth of flavor is perfect and on a rainy or cold day there's nothing more cozy. It was our first time eating at the table area instead of the flavor booths, and we enjoyed the more casual atmosphere and being able to chat freely and not feel the need to be quiet. We've been here a few times already and will definitely be back!

7 years since we last visited and it is still just as good. So worth the price. Kids eat free and my 2.5to devoured her noodles, pork AND soup and asked for a second serving of noodles lol. It is THAT good

Pretty good ramen but $36 a bowl kinda expensive.. love the kids eat for free.. can only go there once awhile since is expensive

Came here for dinner with my friend. My friend has never so he was impressed. We ordered the Classic Tonkatsu Ramen set with extra toppings. Ramen was good as always the spice level was perfect for me (regular/medium). At all other Ichirans that I have been to, the servers were quiet but at this Brooklyn location, the servers behind the curtain were talking very loudly and it was a bit distracting but other than that it was a good time here. Overall: I prefer the quietness/environment (only stalls) of the Manhattan location. Probably wouldn't come back to this location. Ramen still tastes similar.

The.best.ramen.I've.ever.had I'll admit - I'm not a ramen connoisseur, but as a foodie, I have a high standard and no complaints. Ichiran is not just about the food, but the experience as your immediately transported to Japan. Went on a cold day so there was a small-ish line, but it moved surprisingly fast! After ordering your food on an iPad, you're taken to your seats. Went with a friend and you're able to remove the divider so we could talk. However, seems like a PERFECT solo date spot. I recommend ordering an egg on the side to add (even though you have to peal it yourself). Also, you have a lot of broth left after eating the noodles/meat so you're still hungry, definitely order extra noodles and meat! So so good!!!! Still dreaming about it

Ichiran Ramen - A Bowl That Snaps Into Place I'll be blunt: Ichiran could easily slide into "basic ramen" territory if it weren't for one thing--the precise balance in the broth. This isn't just noodles in soup, it's a careful calibration of umami, spice, and depth. The Ajinomoto backbone (MSG, yes--but in the hands of people who actually know how to use it) takes it from forgettable to unforgettable. The noodles? Springy and firm. The garlic and scallions cut through just enough. The broth? Silky, rich, and layered--exactly what tonkotsu is supposed to do. It doesn't just warm you; it stays with you. Is it flashy? No. It's Ichiran, and the focus is obsessive: one bowl, done right. That's the point. Bottom line: Better than basic, yet deceptively simple. When it hits the balance, it's a 5/5 ramen experience.

Last night was my first Ichiran ramen experience. The pretty, red lanterns and graphic letters on the signage outside was what drew me in. I felt like I was carried away to Japan the moment I walked through the door. I was greeted by a very warm and attentive host. Ramen orders and trimmings are selected and paid for at a kiosk near the entrance as soon as you arrive. I was solo and because of this I was seated at the cutest, cubicle style table to dine. I chose the pork ramen with shaved mushrooms, extra scallions and extra braised pork. I also decided on the option to get continuous noodle refills. The ramen was delicious. Broth was hot and flavorful. I went with mild but should've gone spicy. When I was ready for more ramen noodles, I placed a tiny metal tray on a disc. Doing this, sounds a bell to the staff who are waiting behind your personal bamboo curtain to serve you right away. Too cool. My ramen was served in a porcelain pot which was really nice. My only wish is that Ichiran offered a few more toppings. I love corn and sprouts. Neither of those items is on the menu. Otherwise, my ramen experience was wonderful.

Surprised I haven't been to this ramen spot earlier since it seems to be a pretty popular…read morerestaurant and staple in the Park Slope neighborhood. It's quite busy but the turnover rate is quick. The restaurant is small but has a good amount of tables and counter seating. But I've got to say I am disappointed by my overall experience based on how popular this spot is. You order from a menu you can write on, which allows you to customize your ramen selections (noodle thickness, broth, add-ons, etc). I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with spicy added. While the broth is pretty good, I think the overall ramen is a bit lacking compared to other ramen spots. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.
