Food is great but service is terrible. I come here everyday on my lunch break and even after work to dine and chat however the wait staff haggles for tips and will literally talk about you to the others if it's not what they expect. Unacceptable and disgusting behavior by wait staff. read more

Feb 5 2023 Well ,I came here for my Birthday I sat at the bar even though I had reservations the lady kept ignoring the fact I had reservations and she was very dismissive...so I just sat at the bar and the waiter she was rude not just rude extremely rude when my boyfriend went to pay her and she is the one that closes out payments on the small white machine .I gave her a tip of 4.50 and she said "not even 16 percent" I looked at her like wow ....so I said " get what you deserve " and she kept going like she deserved to be tipped .The food was okay I don't wanna pull the racist Card but I'm gonna say it I FELt like the waiter was racist and rude I'm so disappointed I would never ever recommended this place the only up side was the lady at the bar she was okay and helpful your waiter needs to be fired I suggest this or the business will suffer ....if you can get me mad then good luck with 2023. read more

Walking down the street from my jobs academy and wandering what to eat. While walking down the block I see Misc and just looked like a solid place. Walked in and got a seat right away and went over the menu. I was in the mood for phu so that's what I ordered and some spring rolls. The soup of the phu was so deep and complex you know they cared about the flavor. The meats where tender and perfect compliment to the deep broth. The spring rolls where crispy and a extremely good version. Really can't wait to head back and see what I can try next time. read more

Ordered via Caviar on a friday night at 6pm. Got here pretty quick--in retrospect, probably a bad sign. Got Thai iced tea, Vietnamese spring roll (wanted spring rolls, this was something different), drunken noodles. Thai iced tea never came. Vietnamese spring rolls were four mini rolls that cane crispy but under fried, the middle was soggy and not golden but still white. Pretty bland. Some bits of ground chicken, vermicelli noodles, a basil leaf rolled together and deep fried. Unimpressive. Drunken noodle dish was not spicy but advertised as such. There wasn't any heat. The noodles were over cooked or sat out too long before delivery because it was mushy by the time I got it to eat ASAP. The sauce was also sour, and one dimensional. By far worst drunken noodle I've had in NYC. Will never order from here again. read more

The thing I remember the most about this restaurant was the phenomenal playlist but I might be confusing it with another restaurant. I also remember that the music was really loud in the bathroom and that stood out to me. I went to MISC with two friends and it is safe to say that we all had absolutely phenomenal experiences. One of my friends even got two entrees because she loved the food so much. My other friend got pad Thai, which was really brave because she had thrown up on the train two days before) and she liked it too. I had veggie ramen and it was really good. I didn't think much of the news of MISC's opening, another Thai/Asian Fusion in the renovated spot on Franklin Ave. I'd been underwhelmed and jaded by too many restaurants of this type in the past to get excited. Even though it's only a couple blocks away from my apartment, it wasn't until a neighbor strongly urged me to that I decided to give MISC a try. While we don't order take out often, it is now my first choice, go-to. Everything my spouse and I have tried has been nothing short of delicious. Delivery arrives piping hot in a timely fashion and the staff has always been very friendly and kind when I've ordered take out or dined in. The 4 Wheel Drive is a standout favorite of mine; a full, flavorful meal in a bowl especially appropriate for a cold evening. Even their smaller portioned Lemongrass Soup, served with a hearty portion of enoki and protein of your choice, is delightful. We are excited to continue to work our way through the menu and I am regretful that I held out on trying MISC for so long. Lesson-learned! read more

I always form an opinion about a Thai place based on how well they do a staple Thai restaurant dish, and MISC's Pad Thai knocked it clean out of the park. Their Pad Thai was huge!! I ordered it with chicken and vegetables and tofu, and they definitely didn't skimp or try to give you a few measly pieces of chicken and call it a day. It's a big hearty plate of deliciousness. The flavors and texture were excellent - a bit on the sweet side, slightly dry but not dehydrating, and incredibly soft. I am so so happy that this place exists and I am really excited to come here and try some of their other not-so-staple dishes, especially the soups! They also have an excellent Happy Hour and their cocktails are delicious. Waiter service is exceedingly friendly and their facilities are clean and well-kept. MISC is definitely going to become a neighborhood favorite. read more

I went here with a friend for dinner and we had a nice meal and friendly service. Their menu seems to have great variety and is almost Pan-Asian. I wanted to try something different than the usual curries that I always get - I love Thai food - so I went for the special Khao Sowy, yellow curry with noodles and chicken. It was FANTASTIC. So flavorful and delicious, with peanutty chicken in it. I want to go back again just to order it once more. That being said, I have to dock a star because we ordered the "Thai Guacamole" as an appetizer, and it was disgusting. I thought it would be a spicy version of standard guacamole, but it was pretty much like eating peanut sauce straight with some mashed avocado mixed in. I almost wanted to ask for a refund. I have been ordering from MISC and their sister restaurant Muse for almost 5 years now. I can honestly say they have my favorite pad Thai in New York. When I first discovered it, I used to get it delivered almost every week, it was that good! Since then I've taken many friends there, anyone who will let me, and all of the food has been impressive. Their drunken noodles are amazing, spicy, and flavorful. Their wings are incredible. The Franklin wings are my favorite, but I've also ordered the Sriracha Wings and they're delicious. This is generally one of my favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. However today I definitely had to lower their rating in my book. My friend ordered food for me through seamless and it took over an hour and a half for the food to get to me and it was COLD. This was after calling them 10 minutes after the initial delivery time and I was told the delivery guy just left. I called 20 minutes later oh the food is here, he's leaving now. I asked if my food would be cold and they said no. They also assured me I would be the first drop off. I called again 10 minutes later asking what the ETA was as my house is 8 minutes away walking. Literally waited another 10-15 minutes and was about to leave my house to get food from the bodega at this point since I'm hangry, light headed and honestly pissed off. At that point the dude shows up with COLD food. I'm honestly disappointed because I get delivery here multiple times a month as well as dine in here. I was one of the first patrons when it opened and always recommend this place for friends. I honestly believe I wouldn't have gotten any food if I didn't follow up. I received no update from the restaurant that my order was going to be late, they had no idea what was happening with the deliveries, they misled me about it being delivered and in the end did nothing to make it right. Husband and I were visiting Brooklyn, had dinner here, and wow, it was awesome! It was a rainy night in Brooklyn. We just got to NY from California. The restaurant was not so busy. It was very cozy and had this very trendy atmosphere. Food was amazing! I had the papaya salad. Loved it! Husband had a hot soupy dish which I forgot. But anyway, we both enjoyed it. I tried the beau's drunken noodles (not pictured) and was blown away by the flavor and the texture of the noodles...will definitely get that next time. I got ramen which was delightful, but not the best I've ever had. Our friend got spicy basil sautéed dish with salmon (it was huge, almost too big!) but she liked it. The food is amazing, but the customer service is terrible. Tonight, my wife and I were on the road and decided to stop in to pick up some dinner for the family . We ordered the food to go and a beer to have while we waited.  We paid using debit card and I skipped the tip because I was going to give it with cash when we got our food. From then I noticed a change in the waitress attitude, but I ignored it. We waited standing up for about 10 mins and saw a few empty tables that no one occupied so we decided to sit at one while we waited. We sat there for about 10-15 minutes while I had my beer, contemplating on ordering some mojitos. Here comes the server, she literally drops the food on the table with an attitude. So, I was like "excuse me what is the problem why you had to drop the food on the table like that"? She then says we have people waiting for the table and it was reserved. Keep in mind no one never said anything to us or asked us to move (which we would have done with no issue) So now she saw that I was not pleased with her attitude and tried to down play her actions. From what I gathered she was upset that we didn't leave a tip on the machine. So, after we left my wife wanted to know what was all of that for and I told her she is probably upset that I didn't tip. My wife then went back in the restaurant and gave her a $20 tip even though she treated us like we just didn't spend $108 at the establishment or like we begged for free food. Never had we experienced anything like this before. I didn't get the server's name, but just wanted you all to know this is not how you treat your paying customers. It gave a racism feeling. I've always wanted to visit this restaurant. Had my chance this day and was going to order before I got there for pick up. I have a peanut allergy and wasn't comfortable with the online menu, so I decided to order at the restaurant. The menu was very informative and had the allergic keys on it. I was able to choose two thai dishes that did not contain peanuts. The waiter was very patient and very informative. I was very please to know that I did not have to wait long because they were busy. They do have outdoor curbside dining for those so interested. We did enjoy our food at home and are willing to return for more to go dishes in the future. My only suggestion is that they update their online menus for those who have allergies to order their food in advance for pick up or delivery. read more

I only ordered takeout three times and only had the Thai fried rice but the restaurant looks cute and the ambiance was very nice. The few staff that I met while picking up my food were super nice every time. Now, the food -- the first time I had the regular Thai fried rice, the second and third time the tropical Thai fried rice -- as Janice would say: OH...MY...GOD! The chicken was perfectly cooked, the rice perfectly boiled and it was perfectly seasoned. For the tropical fried rice, I only wished it had more pineapple but it's still worth five stars (and more). This was my first time here and I haven't had really good Thai food in a bit. As always my food cravings usually line up nicely with my having to study, and Franklin is my go to for studying, food, and drinks. Let's get to it. Such a simple decor, welcoming atmosphere. I seated myself as it wasn't super busy, but I'm sure that'll soon change because the food is legitimate. Whenever i try a Thai place for the first time, I always go for my staple: Spicy Basil Chicken Fried Rice-- no pineapple in this one, but clearly I didn't mind because I literally just realized it didn't have any as I am writing this review. Guys, I love spice. Guys, this was... I don't even have words. So well seasoned, chicken was well cooked. I took the onions and string beans out of my order and it still tastes amazing. Not to mention, as a beverage I had the Thai Iced Tea because what Thai experience would be completed without it? I normally don't write a review on the first go, but this was well-deserving. TERRIBLE: I highly suggest you avoid this place at all costs. Don't even look at it, I went here with my family (party of 4) and the restaurant was half full of customers, 10-20 minutes before their closing a new group also joined and ended up staying later than us. At this time the atrocious and immensely disrespectful waitress kept putting the bill in front of my face to pay when I'm still halfway thru my dinner. Customers nearby were surprised as well that a restaurant can even treat their customers like that. They don't care about you or their service, all they care about is your money. I had to ask 3-4 times for a fork. And to top all of this off- this same waitress came to the table added a huge pre-decided tip on the new receipt, slammed it in front of me and started shouting at me aggressively that I must pay at this very moment. No calm request or anything. When I stood up to discuss this matter with her on the side, she was shoving into me and up in my face shouting at the top of her lungs like a lunatic. And after I did pay the bill I left without a word but heard her saying F off to me on my way out. So, so good! We came here for dinner on Saturday night. After a lot of cocktails with brunch, I needed something for dinner with a kick of spices and seasoning to pep me up. We live locally, so I didn't want to go far and Yelped for Thai Food in the area. At first, I was a little unsure. Asian fusion always worries me and I was concerned it would be another hip little joint that was popular without delivering much. My fears were unnecessary! We ordered the masaman curry (tofu), the duck in a pond noodles and started with the chicken puffs. My only issue is that there are only two puffs in a serve. Other than that, both the curry and noodles were a knock out. Both had so much taste and flavor. I loved it. The broth of the noodles is to die for. We will definitely return for more! read more
