Cute little corner spot for coffee or lunch. We came here for a margherita pizza, and it was definitely average. Nothing to really get super excited to come back for, but since it's such a neighborhood spot it's easy to keep coming back to. Also, the area the restaurant is in is very lovely, as is the interior itself, so it's always relaxing to visit. If you're looking for really outstanding food, maybe go elsewhere, but this is a nice place overall to meet up and have a chat with friends. read more

This is a lovely, intimate-feeling restaurant with fantastic pizza, salads, a few entrees, and sandwiches. We shared the arugula salad to start, which was perfect before our main dishes. I had the vegetarian eggplant sandwich which had amazing bread and perfectly seasoned veggies. My husband had the spring lamb pizza which was also wonderful and flavorful. We indulged in the housemade tiramisu for dessert which was just sweet enough, but not overly sugary. We can't wait to try more of their menu! I used to live in the Mt. Baker neighborhood, in a definitely "non-chic" part of town. We were lucky to get Baskin & Robbins, and pick up some doughnuts for the kids. There aren't a lot of decent dining options in the Mt. Baker, Columbia City area with also a good ambience. Miposto is one of the few to choose from. Unfortunately my experience was lackluster. Service was very unattentive, to put it mildly. The wine pours were very stingy and the prices are somewhat high for what you get but not outrageously so. The other issue with this place is that it is LOUD. I had difficulty hearing what the other person across the table was saying. It's because the place is all hard surfaces and so the sound bounces all over the place. I'd go back if I had to eat in the Mt. Baker district and was craving pizza but otherwise I will be looking elsewhere for a better Rainier Valley casual upscale dining establishment. If I lived in the area and thereby was biased by the convenient location, I might give this place the benefit of the doubt and go four stars, but compared to what else is out there in the Seattle area, I have to be honest and for that evening give it 3. 4-star food, 2-star service, 3-star value. read more

Mio Posto has slipped and slipped badly. We haven't been for several months but the service staff was suddenly gruff and unfriendly, only one toilet was usable, flies flew around the cooking area, and the pizza was very mediocre. When I ordered there was a sign right in front of me that said "available until 3PM daily". It was 1PM, so I ordered it, and the sharp answer was "We don't serve that after 11." When I pointed to the sign, the Mio Posto women glared at me, grabbed the sign, and said "That takes care of that." Took half an hour for food to arrive. I feel like a poser of Italian pizza. why have I not eaten here earlier? It's not christmas any more but i'm seriously dreaming of a pancetta & egg pie. (note: ask them to go light on the spice, its will burn you up if you don't). I heart this place. We were able to do the al sardo (sardine pie) when it was in season - highly recommend it! my family has decided to implement wed pizza nites so we've dined here quite a few times in the last month. custom pies are just as good. we did prosciutto and goat cheese on olive oil and it was just as good. The vino's by the glass and stella on tap make this hidden joint so worth the drive to mt. baker. Side note, the lasagna was decent and the clam appetizer is such a hit with my little boy that we can't have a pie without chowing down this first! see you there wed nites! read more

I work just down the street so this is an ideal stop for coffee or lunch. I love their calzones and pizzas, though I think they're a bit pricey. I especially like coming here in the summertime because all the big windows are open and you can sit and sip your coffee with a light breeze on your face. The place is super cute. Sunday afternoon, maybe 3:00. Six people in the place total. Me to guy behind counter pointing at the sign on the register. "your egg and bacon pizza, loved it last time, says you can't order after 11" ? mumbles something like "its too hard to make when its busy". Me looking around at the now four people in the place with no one else behind me. "I really loved that last time, the reason I came in today". He just shrugs and points to the menu. I remain calm, my wife looking at me uneasily as she knows how I can be when it comes to me having my mind set on something. I take the menu we sit down and I decide on the potato pizza. Go back to the counter and order the guy says to me "uh we are are out of the potatoes". I look at him, look at my wife, say thank you and leave immediately to Serious Pie, my first choice to begin with. I ask the guy to make me a pizza i saw at another place, he happily takes my order. Note to Mioposto, I love the ambiance, the neighborhood feel. But you are not going to win any new customers with the lack of customer service. Just a little more, your business is important to us feel, I coulda chalked this up to bad timing. But seriously?? Wont be back, and will tell everyone I know or who ask. read more

It's really a hidden gem. My husband and son do not like U.S. style pizzas and refuse to go to any pizza restaurants except here. We have been here 4 times in the last 2 months for dinner and have yet to be disappointed. If this place was within walking distance, we would be here at least once a week. The service here has been wonderful, even when the restaurant was crazy busy. Their pizzas are very much similar to pizzas you would find in Italy. My son's favorite pizza is margherita and my favorite is the sardine pizza. Our favorite appetizer is bresaola, which is accompanied by arugula. Just a warning! We have been there usually between 6-7 p.m. and have seen a fair share of kids (who were all well behaved). As disclosure, we bring our tween here as well. However, because of the general noise volume of the restaurant, you don't really hear anything from any of the surrounding tables. My husband and I were walking around this area with our son after a game he was coaching. This is such a cute neighborhood. The place looked small, but it fits the ambiance. The windows folded in, which made the restaurant look more open & on the plus side they had put door seating. I love the fact that they had a wood fired oven to cook all the pizzas. You can really taste the difference. My husband and I decided to sit outside with our seven month old son. This was a great way for our son to keep busy with everything going on outdoors. He loved it. Our waiter was pleasant and very helpful. Answered all our questions and was very prompt when it came to answering them. We ordered the calzone verdura (which came with a side salad) with the beet salad and meatballs. I matched it all with rosé, I wish I had gotten the gruner veltliner (white wine). The rosé was good though. Everything was delicious and I absolutely loved the beet salad. I'm not a fan of beets, but decided to give it a go one more time. Sure enough this was the best, they did something right with this salad. It had just enough of everything and they weren't being shy with their ingredients!!! Eleven) small children wreeking a very loud, and high-pitched havoc, while their doting parents, smiled on, in the placid armor of a sure knowledge that their little darling was far too young to be taught how to behave in public......."but nobody really minds, do they? I mean, they're kids!! What's not to love!?? On rare occasion, disabilities like this can be over come by superb food. Alas dear Yorick, not this time. Two $11 calzones (20 cents worth of flavorless dough wrapped around 5 cents of token ingredients) arrived looking browned in places, but turned out to be grossly under-baked. No nice crunchy exterior bits over a chewy tasty interior, but rather raw dough in the interior.....it was like eating soggy wonder bread. The $12 pizza, distinguished only by ,again, tasteless dough and the noticeable lack of cheese or toppings, was too mediocre to waste further words on. My meal was a series of overpriced disappointments. The Le Patate pizza was sopping greasy, the oil pooled in a corner of the box and soaked through the cardboard into the box below it. The arugula salad came with four things: arugula, shaved Parmesan, a slice of lemon for you to squeeze, and a little container of olive oil for you to drizzle. While I don't deny how delicious this mixture can be, I bought the $10 salad out my own laziness, and it defeats my purpose if the restaurant is also going to be lazy and issue a handful of ingredients for me to assemble at a 10X markup. The chickpeas were too spicy. The Pinocchio pizza was very salty. Save yourself the grief. read more
