We made great food choices. The service was ridiculously slow to the point where we both were about 3/4 of the way finished with our meal when the drinks we ordered before the food came out. Really! Thankfully they do serve water right when they sit you at your table. The ambiance is very dim light good traditional Mexican music, it could very well be romantic with the right company. Will definitely be back read more

This place certainly has a following...of young women celebrating something. If that's you, get there. If you're anyone else, try any other Mexican restaurant in the Valley. It's not special. It's precious. Service, while polite, is slow. The menu is so predictable; nothing exciting, other than the ribeye aquachile which was so over- salted, was inedible. It's loud, tacky with lots of fake plants and fake boobs. Gross. read more

I took a large group here for a work dinner last night and was very impressed with the food. The calamari in particular was divine. I ordered the enchiladas which were good as were the other appetizers I tried (guacamole and elote). My only advice would be not to come here for a work meal as it did get progressively louder throughout the night and by the time we left around 8:30 I could barely hear anything anyone was saying. That being said this would be a great place to eat with friends. The ambiance and decor were fun and the food was really the stand out star. read more

Miel De Agave Phoenix - Green Chili Cream Enchiladas - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Food at Miel de Agave was absolutely delicious! We were expecting smaller portions because it's considerably high-end, but they did not disappoint whatsoever. Antonio, our server, was very swift and kind! He made sure we were happy with everything and checked for allergies. The ambiance was great as well and is perfect for a dimly lit dinner date or for a dinner with friends. There was a jazz saxophonist playing modern music and it's honestly something you don't see often. read more

Miel De Agave Phoenix - Quesabirria. Pasta Bacanora. - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Great food, loved the atmosphere, and restaurant went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary!

The first thing I noticed was this restaurant has some serious ambiance. The date night vibes were high. I started with a strawberry margarita that had a tajin mixture on the rim that paired perfectly with the sweetness of the margarita. We started with a tuna sashimi appetizer that was a fusion of Mexican and Japanese. The spicy sauce was absolutely addictive. I ordered the Birria tacos that came out piping hot stuffed with some seriously juicy meat. It came with a flavorful jus and a spicy jus. Hubby ordered the Surf and turf. His steak was cooked perfectly medium and he loved the char on the asparagus. He said it was one of the best steaks he's had in a while. Miel is perfect for date night or even a meal with friends. read more

This is awesome that they are open for breakfast as we usually patron the Chandler location that does not offer breakfast. Chris was our server who was very friendly and helpful with navigating the menu. I ordered the Chilaquiles roja (red) and my wife ordered the Chilaquiles verde (green). The food was amazing. The place was clean. It was a bit slow, but I think it's because they just started offering breakfast. We will definitely come back on our excited to try the other dishes. My biggest Takeaway was the pork belly that you can add to your Chilaquiles. And there were some extra thick bacon, which was absolutely amazing. read more

The place is gorgeous and our server was great! Jorge had a lot to do at once and somehow stayed personable and accommodating. If something was missing, he got it right away and was proactive about drinks taking a bit too long. The Enchiladas, Elote, and Dorado tacos are a must try. Passionfruit mojito was great. Other than that, gotta say no bueno, and here is why. -- ATMOSPHERE -- 1. We were sat at a tiny, two-person table in the middle of the restaurant after being told our outdoor reservation was unavailable. Multiple servers had to squeeze past us and they moved a table beside us multiple times, which is not a classy experience at all to me. 2. This is more like tapas than high end. No place to put my purse, but it's still beautiful inside. Had we not been at a small table in the middle of it all, I'd have rated it higher. -- FOOD -- 1. The red salsa served with the salsa and chips was basically a tomato sauce with a hidden spice. Almost watered down. 2. Enchiladas were served with a salad instead of rice and beans. Sides of beans are served in a ramekin intended for sauces. Like a side of ranch, but beans. 3. Ceviche is 10000% NOT CEVICHE. It's Clamato juice, pre-cooked shrimp, tomato, cilantro, onion, with an orange slice and a bit of tajin on top. To add onto that obscenity, they did also did not properly devein the shrimp. -- SERVICE -- Jorge was moving quick and was personable and gave exceptional recommendations. He was being asked to do too much, for sure, but I did appreciate the manager going around and checking on people proactively. read more

I think we may have caught this place on an off night, and I want to come back because I think with different service, it would be a really good experience. Plus, the food was amazing. We had reservations and were seated on time, but for some reason, the server seemed to not realize we were his table. After waiting 20 minutes and trying to make eye contact with anyone but not even getting waters poured, we specifically called out to see if what was going on. The server eventually realized his mistake, and it seemed like he thought because of this we wouldn't tip well (not true), so he didn't try very hard for the rest of the night. We saw him being really helpful and friendly to other tables, but we were treated like an after thought all evening. He insisted that we order all three courses for Restaurant Week up front, which meant that everything came out really close together. Our cocktails took a really long time to come. We had not only received our appetizers and eaten most of them, but our entrees were being set down before we asked where our cocktails were. This was a little frustrating because we would have liked time to appreciate the cocktails first (like every other table had the benefit of). The food made up for it, though. We had appetizers of elote and calamari rings, and the entrees ranged from the Southwest Caesar salad to the birria tacos. Everyone was pleased with their food (as well as our cocktails, once we received them). For dessert there was tres leches cake and fried ice cream. All of the portions were huge, and everyone had leftovers, despite it being on the Restaurant Week menu. Aesthetically this place was gorgeous as well. I would definitely like to return, and hopefully we will get better service next time around. read more

The place is beautiful and great for an intimate date night. The only thing is i wasn't super impressed with the food compared to the prices. I got a margarita, the chicken pasta and tacos. The tacos were not my thing. I like traditional Mexican tacos and these we different. Pasta was actually good but it was 1 note, which i guess is expected since it's just creamy chipotle pasta. Margarita was good. Overall, nice place but i am just got sure prices for food is worth it. However, will definitely be back for drinks. read more

If you're planning a birthday celebration, you may want to choose another restaurant. Our group spent nearly $1,000 on food and drinks and brought a birthday cake, only to be told there was a mandatory $50 cake cutting fee even if we cut it ourselves. When we questioned it, the manager responded "That's fine don't leave a tip" Restaurants can set their own policies, but this felt more money hungry than providing hospitality for a special occasion. read more

Service was great and the restaurant look cool. I came in based on the photos of the elote, octopus, and chicharron guacamole. They only served breakfast during the day time and none of the food I wanted was available. Drinks were also limited. Paloma was not available for lunch time either. Oh well, maybe next time. read more

CS was SUPERB! I feel they went above and beyond to make our dining experience a memorable event. I made reservations on Open Table and modified 4 times prior to our visit and we actually showed up 30 minutes early and the accommodated us with no hassle or fuss. The ambiance is fantastic, music was a little loud to start with but seemed to have been adjusted a little as the dining scenario progressed. Craft Cocktails were fantastic, wine selection was nice but pretty pricey I thought. Cinthya our server was super nice, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Food was EXCELLENT, We tried the Baconora Tacos-Yummy, Guacamole and Pork Belly Appetizers-Yummy, Quesbirria-Marvelous We were celebrating a Birthday and the staff does a magnificent job with sparkler, signage and flashing lights-Great attention to detail Cons-Parking can be challenging, The front entry could be cleaned up as the restaurant itself is beautiful, I don't know who's responsible as there are a number of restaurants in that building but the walk up to the Front Entry was not pleasant, all I could do was pray the restaurant wasn't anything like that and it wasn't. Seriously it's not a good feeling, my guest were questioning my restaurant decision, but once in the actual facility they were impressed. We will be back! read more

We really dug this place for a nice date night. We didn't end up there on a night when there was live music but im betting that wouldnhave been awesome. Their drink menu had a list of really fun stuff and I went with the chichen-itza which had the dried grasshoppers and mezcal. It was excellent. I ordered the surf and turf and both the steak and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. My wife had the pork belly chicharron which was also lovely. They didn't have any lobster left which was kind of a bummer but the wait staff was really great. read more

Overall, our Miel de Agave experience was okay. Given that this is considered a highly rated establishment- I did expect more from it. The space is beautiful with lots of photo ops and a very tropical feel (stepping into it from the hot streets of Phoenix felt like an oasis. We had reservations for 5:30 PM on a Saturday and I would recommend doing the same if you were wanting to go on the weekend as I heard hosts saying it would take around 2 hours for walk-ins. My husband ordered the surf and turf and I had the mole enchiladas and the Chichén Itza cocktail. Drinks did take a little longer to reach the table, but again, expected with a busy weekend. My drink was great! The food was just okay. My husband's steak was comparable to something you could have at a lower end steakhouse, and the shrimp tasted like they had been put on a grill and nothing else. My enchiladas were tasty, but serving the beans and rice in a plastic ramekin took away from the elegance of the food. The hosts and servers were nice, but service took a little long. Our experience wasn't bad- just not as elevated as we would have expected. read more

We enjoyed celebrating a birthday here. Loved the Birria Torta and my friend loved her tacos. We liked the elote and complimentary Tres Leches. Lovely inside. The food was to die for. I sat at the bar and he guided me through the whole menu and gave me recommendations in each section. I wish I got his name but he recommended both of these and the tacos dorados had the right amount of flavor and the perfect crunch with the salsas adding some depth and spice. The steak aqua chile had the perfect amount of bite that paired perfectly with the aquacate and pickled onions. The ambiance was peaceful and perfect for a little solo date night. I was sitting under the air vent and freezing and the other bartender noticed and thankfully raised the thermostat so I could sit without shivering lol. Definitely will be back read more

I would like to start off by saying the ambiance of this restaurant is pretty, I loved the mirrors in the hallway that leads to the entrance, great for photos! We didn't have a reservation but were sat right away. Our server was nice but wasn't consistent. After my first drink which was a mango margarita, I wanted to order another drink but our server did not ask us if we wanted a second round of drinks and didn't see much of her during service. I love the birria tacos so much flavor and good amount of meat but my tortilla was falling apart. Although I loved the charro beans that came as a side, I was disappointed at the serving size. It's a side but looked like a small sample size, literally 4 whole beans in the small salsa container it came in :( Based on the previous pictures from past reviews, the food servings are inconsistent. While others got a bigger ceramic container I was served with a tiny plastic salsa cup for my beans! I almost wanted to order another side of beans because they are delicious but not for $7 read more

Our visit didn't start off well. It was a busy downtown and finding parking was already a challenge. We eventually parked in a lot behind the restaurant that had multiple signs indicating it was for patrons of the three restaurants. We followed the instructions to scan the first QR code and made it to the restaurant within the five-minute window to validate parking. However, when we asked for the second QR code, we were told we actually weren't allowed to park there and had to move the car. This was frustrating and confusing given the signage. The experience inside didn't improve much at first. The hostess seemed unfriendly and annoyed while seating us. On a positive note, our waitress was very kind, and the margaritas were excellent. The guacamole was also delicious, but the salsa was underwhelming--it tasted more like plain tomato sauce with a bit of heat. For our meals, my friend ordered the steak enchiladas and really enjoyed them, as they were generously filled. I ordered the cheese enchiladas as a vegetarian option, and unfortunately, they were disappointing. They were flat, sparsely filled with cheese, and lacked any additional ingredients like vegetables to make them more substantial. I've had frozen cheese enchiladas that were infinitely better and much cheaper. It was especially frustrating that they were priced the same as the steak version despite the clear difference in portion and quality. Our waitress did her best, but she was also managing a large group in another room, which made service inconsistent. We were seated in the very back of the restaurant, even though there were plenty of empty tables in the front, so our server had a lot of ground to cover to get to us and the large group kept her busy. Overall, the experience was disappointing. There were a few highlights, but they weren't enough to outweigh the issues with the parking and the food. read more

It booked through Open Table and was 10 minutes late stuck in traffic and then trying to find parking. We had to wait another 15 minutes to be seated. This was frustrating because there were many available tables and they were not communicating what was going on. I had tickets to a show that began in an hour and was getting anxious. While waiting I got a good look at the place and I love the design. It makes for a great atmosphere. There was a band playing instrumental covers of current pop songs. It created a great and lively vibe. Once we finally got seated we quickly decided what we wanted and when our server George arrived we explained how we were in a hurry and he said he'd put the order in and get it to us quickly. He also had great recommendations on the menu starting with the Paloma instead of the margarita. I love Elote so that was easy, He said the steak enchiladas were great, and the barilla tacos were the way to go. He really came through on everything. The drinks arrived quickly and the food showed up just moments later. And everything was outstanding. We were able to finish and get to our show on time. I look forward to returning when I can take more time to enjoy the experience. Not sure what was going on that took so long to get seated but once we did everything was just outstanding. I will definitely return. read more

Their chicharron was dry, but flavor was elevated by the sauce for sure. The salad was drenched in dressing. It was still delicious, but it would've been better if it was more balanced and had actual fruit in it. The Tomahawk Tuesday special was offered which just came with the tomahawk steak and no sides. Not impressed by the burnt steak, and I ordered a medium rare. Overall, fast service and cozy vibes! They offer live music as well but didn't get to experience that. Decided to try this place in downtown based on some of the reviews and videos we had seen circulating online and we have to say the place was good in so many aspects. For starters, the calamari was our favorite part of the meal as it has now topped as one of our favorite Calamari dishes we have had as it is perfectly crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside and full of flavor with 3 great dipping options. We shared the Tomahawk steak which was cooked perfectly and sliced ready for us to begin eating on arrival, beans were so good and packed with flavor, just felt disappointed that the portion of beans was so small, as well as the dips. Also liked the corn side that came with the dish it was great! Service was friendly since we came in and even without a reservation, they helped us get in within 10 mins which was great, and they were constantly checking on us which was nice. Ambiance was nice and classy with the lighting and music playing, and the restaurant was beautifully decorated! read more
