Got a Goldie in the late afternoon to enjoy the next day. Got it without ice, and the cup was only about 60% full. Pretty disappointing to see such an extreme penalty for no ice, and you realize how overpriced it is at $7.50 a cup, which is barely more than half full. Moreover, it goes to show how much ice they put in it and little coffee! Sadly, a rip off. Edit: I am aware there isn't less drink put in when ordering without ice but getting the drink without ice puts on full display how much coffee you're actually getting at that price point -- which is only about 60% of the cup. This spot has been on my list for a while and I'm glad I was able to stop by since it's right off the highway. Ngl the entrance being so close to fast moving cars and with a small line going sometimes onto the street gave me driver anxiety, with the space also barely fitting both in/out traffic cars into their parking lot. They have a Dutch Bro's-like approach with a person standing outside to take your order and this location has an outdoor walk-up counter as well, no seating or inside to walk into. This is the cutest micro coffee shop! I am huge fan of coffee dose, so this new addition is exactly what I need! Micro dose is a drive-up coffee stop. They do have an outdoor window for in-person orders, however there is not outdoor seating. It is very popular, so plan for a line of cars. There baristas are exceptionally quick and personable. They take your order in the car line and usually chat with you a bit. Their drinks are so good!! I am a big fan of the Goldie. They do have great treats, however they sell our very fast in the morning. The downside of Micro Dose, is that the coffee is probably the most expensive in the area. Usually about $7 without tip. I am a big coffee dose fan and enjoy stopping by whenever I am in the area. I went yesterday expecting to get the valley girl drink (so sad to see it's not a permanent menu item anymore but I'll get over that). When the girl taking my order told me that drink was no longer on the menu, I then needed a second to order. Problem was, there was no menu to look at and I don't have your whole obscure menu memorized. Don't get me wrong, I love the uniqueness of the menu and the different drinks, but when they have weird ass names like they do, how am I supposed to know what they are by names alone. I asked the girl what other matchas were on the menu, because there was no menu for me to look at, and she listed off the names like I'm supposed to just know what is in these drinks. When I asked her to tell me what was in them, she looked at me like I was dumb for not knowing wtf was in "It Girl" and the other names she listed off. I get it, if I had to explain all day long what was in these drinks, I'd probably get annoyed too. I feel like this could be avoided if there was a menu available or if I could have mobile ordered to this location. This is the old "Java T Go" of yesteryear that became something else I never went to. The place is hard to miss, as it's hot pink with signs like "anti-bitch serum" plastered on the wall. The name "micro-dose" seems a bit odd as there are no hallucinogenic compounds or even legal mushrooms for that matter! Not sure if it was intentional, but they did plant hallucinogenic cacti out front (San Pedro Cactus). There were plenty of options for those who like boring black coffee (me) or complex lattes with rose and lavender (my wife). The menu had baked goods too. I had an iced Americano and it was a deal at $3.50. Pretty good too -- no complaints. My wife had the "the beauty" with rose syrup and it has collagen, among other things. She liked it, but it's definitely not my style. At $6.50 it makes Starbucks seem plebeian. Service was quick and there is a person who takes orders on an iPad while you wait in line to keep the process going. Everyone was friendly. Is this my favorite coffee place in Costa Mesa? Maybe not, but it's quick and easy and would have been a nice pairing with Oh Those Donuts! Plus, it's an easy stop if you need caffeine before heading north on the 55. Stopped by for a quick Monday morning coffee on my way home and safe to say, I wasn't disappointed. From unique non-coffee drinks like matcha and chai lattes, to the ultimate selection for coffee-lovers, they have a wide variety of both classics and novelty drinks in addition to a variety of savory and sweet breakfast options. The long drive thru line stretched into the street so I got out and walked up to the window, only to find that the drive thru was moving SO FAST, ha! It's great to see that they not only have so much business, but that they are so quick and efficient at clearing the line and keeping people moving. The young woman that took my order was so friendly, sweet, helpful giving recommendations, and impressively calm and professional given the rush. The location is drive thru or window walk-up only, so it is well suited for a on-the-go rather than a study or work spot. My drink, "The Beauty" came with almond milk, collagen, and lavender syrup. Absolutely delicious and came out in a mere 2 minutes. I asked for light ice and they definitely delivered the appropriate amount AND filled my drink up all the way. I'm all about a good ambiance and it was perfect in my eyes. You can drive through or walk up and order which is nice! There's a bench right out front where you order if you'd like to take a seat and socialize for a bit. I will say if you are used to the regular coffee dose menu just know it is adapted and a little different..I think this has to do with it simply being a faster pace compared to the actual sit down coffee shop they have.
