My husband and I came here because we had seen and heard about it several times we were on our way to Denver for the festival of lights at the botanical Gardens. We stopped in here to have some steaks and libation. We were seated promptly and our server arrived quickly to ask us what we wanted to drink. We ordered the sirloins because it's Mickey sirloin! My steak was a perfect sirloin cut. It was cooked perfectly and flavorful. I added my usual Worcestershire and enjoyed it entirely. My husband was not as great, but our waiter took care of us entirely. We had the fried mushrooms. They were pretty good. The salads were mediocre. Same with our other sides. All we enjoyed our experience. We took a piece of cheesecake to go, which was good as we walked in the botanical garden.

Medium rare Hawaiian steak

Pricing has understandably gone up and the house wine is still pretty reasonable when compared to local restaurants. Stephanie "G Money" took care of us last weekend and did a spectacular job. She was amazing with the recommendation and was fast in bringing us food and our beverages. We really appreciate her! T[[HIGHLIGHT]]he ambiance has been consistent, the parking is a little tricky but loop around the back of the restaurant and you can find plenty of parking. [[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]I do think the pricing of the steak with $28 for a 12oz sirloin is a little steep, but then again, I'm comparing to chain where they might have a better cost due to the size of corporation vs small local business. We had the soup of the day with chicken rice soup and I probably should have gone with the salad as the cup of soup felt small. Tasty but really hot temperature, watch out for your tongue. The Hawaiian Steak was delicious, well marinaded and the cooking temp to medium rare was spot on in my opinion. I've been here a few times and their steaks are definitely... well seasoned. No additional sauces needed. I do think if you're on a lower sodium diet to call it out, as their chefs do not skim on seasoning here. O[[HIGHLIGHT]]verall it's a great place to come for a date night, a little hole in the wall vibe with great food. Come check them out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Truly an underrated hidden gem! This was by far the best meal of our Colorado trip so far. Your dinner comes with a side and a soup or salad. I made a reservation for two on a Monday just to be safe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a bar side and restaurant side. I chose the restaurant side because I like it to be a bit quieter for my meals.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server Hector was a rockstar. Answered all our questions and gave great recommendations and checked on our periodically to make sure we were doing well. I ordered the 8oz filet with a salad and loaded baked potato. The filet was cooked to my favorite rare temperature and the flavor was exceptional. The baked potato was amazing and well cooked and topped off with bacon, cheese, butter, and sour cream. We also ordered a king sirloin with cowboy butter and another loaded baked potato. It was eaten so fast it was delicious. The side salads were a decent size as well. Our drinks were delicious as I ordered the Rosa Paloma and my boyfriend ordered their rotating ipa which was something made by Breckenridge brewing. The steaks are extremely well priced as our whole meal was $80 and the quality was top notch. A must try in the Denver area!

thank you anthony!! 10/10 service and food!! this was our first time here and everything was explained so well and we got to try all sorts of amazing things, i wish i could order the entire menu!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]some lovely stained glass windows and lanterns and cow hide decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] i got the hawaiian sirloin with cowboy butter and mashed potatoes and i've never had anything like it! it was fantastic and well priced. we came for a birthday and got a spunomi sundae on the house. we will be back!

We came with a large group that had an advance reservation. There were 30 of us. They had several tables together in the middle of the room. We were seated at the overflow table with 6 other folks. We arrived with the last group. Our table ordered drinks, those were delivered. We ordered appetizers and those were delivered. Then we placed our dinner order. All came out in a timely manner and our server made sure our waters were filled and that we had everything we needed. We got the warm bean dip and chips as an appetizer. It consisted of a bowl of refried beans with some melted cheese on top and a dressing sized cup of salsa. Both were tasty. I ordered the Mickey's Top Sirloin, as it is their signature dish. I asked for medium which should be pink. My husband went with medium rare which should be lots of pink. He got a baked potato with sour cream and butter as his side. I had the mashed potatoes and gravy as my side. Our salads came out and were good. The dressings were correct. The salads are mostly lettuce with a bit of additional veg and two slices of pepperoni. Our dinners came and mine was medium well if it was anything and the meat was quite tough. The brown gravy for the mashed potatoes was very salty. My husband said his steak was ok, it looked like what I pictured for medium. He also said the baked potato was good. Overall, our service was great. The food was so-so. If I was returning with a group, I think I will focus on the Mexican entrees. I know from past experience that they are top notch. I will note that while we arrived after the large group table was full and ended up on the overflow, we had ordered, eaten and paid and the large table who started putting in drink orders before we arrived had still not received their food. I know large groups can be tricky, but there was a reservation in advance and the restaurant was aware of the head count for staffing. So maybe this is a better location for smaller groups.

This is our new favorite spot! The food and service are both incredible and we have been going back at least once a week

It was a really.. good.. steak. I was dancing in my seat so GOOD! My boyfriend and I both got the tbone steak dinner with salad and side. I got mine medium and it was a medium rare which is fine... just know that maybe it'll be less done than you think? Could depend on the cook as well. Also I feel like a tbone might be tricky to get an even temp throughout. I didn't love my Cesar salad.. it was like a store bought vinaigrette.. not bad but I wanted homemade.. maybe I'm wrong though. Margaritas are good and the service is what you would expect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is not a fancy place but a very yummy place. I would spend my money here again gladly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Stephanie was the sweetest server ever. Offered a history lesson on the restaurant. Offered a complimentary sampler platter. The sampler, cheesy sausage garlic bread and calamari were all perfect. Salsa, queso, and sausage all from scratch. 12oz Rib eye, 8oz fillet were cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender steak. Chicken sandwich just have been great because the husband finished it quick Strawberry cheesecake, apple pie and cherry pie Ala mode were all outstanding. Worth the $200 Bill for 4 people with desserts, main dishes and appetizers

Great place to meet up with old friends. A real old Denver feel. Great steak good portions. The waitress makes sure that your meal is cooked to your liking. If you need a sweet behind try the skillet cookie a la mode.

I had dinner at Mickey's on Friday night - My experience was amazing. The food was impeccable and the service was beyond outstanding. My server was Adrianna and I have never had anyone treat me like she did. It was as if I was the only customer she had. She was absolutely the best. The porterhouse steak was perfect - [[HIGHLIGHT]]No matter how much noise or chaos there is in my life, I always leave this restaurant feeling better.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not sure there's a greater compliment.

No matter what you get here, you will enjoy it. I haven't had a bad dish or drink here. Do not skip out on the Per La Tavola (for the table plates). They are all so good. We normally get the Piatti Di Cicchetti (olives, pickled veggies, and almonds), Piatti Di Salumi (prosciutto, salame, coppa), and the Burrata. They all complement each other SO WELL. Pair that with a white wine and you got yourself a time. The 2 course offering for lunch is also phenomenal. I got the Insalata Mista (lettuce, shallot, reggiano) and it's a decent sized salad and very tasty. The Mafaldine (lamb ragu, pecorino romano) is to die for. Such great flavor and the pasta is always cooked perfectly. The service here is always top-notch too. The staff is very well-trained and is on top of everything. Truly a well-oiled machine. The atmosphere here is impeccable too. You can tell that everything was thought of for a great experience: lighting, table layout, decor, etc. It is a great place to bring a significant other, business customers, etc. I cannot wait for my next visit to Tavernetta and I was just there a few hours ago!

We were seated at the front by the window, which was nice. It did get a little hot in the restaurant as more people arrived, since it has been unusually warm in Denver this season. We split six plates and were stuffed by the time the celebratory dessert arrived. We started with the burrata, which paired well with apple butter and pickled apples. The arancini was a fusion of Indian spiced cauliflower with mint-cilantro yogurt raita. My favorite of the Spuntini dishes was the Granchio--jumbo lump crab served over a crispy potato cake with butternut squash and a perfect 63 ° egg. We split two Primi dishes: their special of the day pasta, and the Cappellini Aglio e Olio. The Cappellini was amazing--a perfect blend of Indian spices, breadcrumbs, and another 63 ° egg. Yum. If you love scallops, the Capesante dish is not to be missed. These were some of the sweetest, perfectly prepared scallops I have had.

The special happy hour sandwich was the Porchetta Sando for $8. Basically a slider. It was so good, I had another. I paired the food with a glass of Spanish Golban Crianza ($7.50!!). A full bodied red wine for porchetta. I decided to treat myself with the Amaro cheesecake and a pour of Lucano Anniversarie, $12 each. Nice cheesecake with chocolate slab on top. The Amaro was not bitter. Including tax & 20% tip, it came to $105. The food was not rushed. The restaurant steadily filled up by 630pm.

For the main course, I opted for the Pollo alla Milanese. Also, a huge plate of food. I was able to make two additional meals from the chicken. Starting with my favorite and the absolute knockout: The Dry-Aged Bistecca Agnolotti. Think of a ravioli pouch, but smaller and better, filled with meat, sitting in a bed of the most perfectly browned brown butter with thick parmesan shaves on top. You think it's over, and then your server comes and pours a sweet yet vinegary reduction on top. I'm actively eating it for breakfast as I write this. Insane. Will be thinking about this for a few days. The others in the group got the Spicy Lobster Rigatoni Alla Vodka, which is one of their most popular dishes. It was good (we swapped bites), but mine was better. For the table we split a Caesar (which I do wish had more dressing, but I love a dressing so that could just be me), filet mignon meatballs (4 in an order which was perfect for our group of 4), and the tuna and avocado carpaccio. Favorites were the meat and fish. We used the bread to sop up the meat sauce at the end. Lastly, the Chicken Parm Pizza was ordered for the table. Basically, the "crust" of the pizza is chicken parm. I think it's a little expensive for what it was, but I'm glad I got to try it with a bigger group. Can't imagine reordering it, solely for the size and cost, but it was a unique food experience. Drinks at the table included a Barbera, a Chardonnay, a Sangria, and a Spritz. All good. We first discovered this absolute gem last June when we visited Denver for my birthday. We stopped in for lunch, and Donovan took care of us. The food, the service, and the entire experience were so delightful that we came back the very next day for dinner--and, luckily for us, Donovan took care of us again. We left Denver talking about Gaetano's long after the trip was over. This year, we returned to Denver to see Olivia Dean, and Gaetano's was at the very top of our list. I'll admit, I was a little nervous. Sometimes a restaurant lives so perfectly in your memory that you wonder whether it could possibly be as good the second time around. Well, Gaetano's didn't disappoint. It somehow got even better. We came in early before our dinner reservation to have drinks at the bar, and there was Donovan bartending. Not only did he remember us from last year, but he greeted us so warmly and exchanged pleasantries with us like no time had passed. That alone made our return feel special. Once we were seated, Dan took care of us, and he was fantastic--funny, personable, attentive, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. We even had a little dessert mishap, but instead of it becoming an awkward moment, we all laughed about it. Dan handled everything wonderfully and even brought us a complimentary key lime pie, which he absolutely did not have to do. It was such a thoughtful gesture and another example of the hospitality that makes this place stand out. The food? Ridiculous--in the best possible way. We ordered the lobster ravioli, the signature sausage gnocchi, clams casino, and mussels. The watermelon margarita was fantastic, and the clams casino and mussels completely blew our minds. Every dish tasted fresh, balanced, and full of flavor. Even the creamy pasta dishes are somehow light rather than heavy. I don't know what kind of Italian sorcery is happening in that kitchen, but I respect it. Naturally, we came back again before leaving Denver. This time, we sat at the bar with Donovan and were blown away all over again. We started with the burrata and prosciutto appetizer and devoured every last bite. Nothing was left behind--not a crumb, not a shred of prosciutto, not a drop of anything. The plate probably didn't even need to be washed. For our second course, we split the chicken Parmesan. We had seen it during our previous visit and knew we had to try it. Then, because apparently we enjoy testing the structural limits of the human stomach, we still ordered entrées. I had the carbonara and added shrimp because the shrimp I'd ordered during our earlier visit had been so incredibly good. Jordan ordered the lobster ravioli again, and somehow it was even better than the night before. That is what impresses me most about Gaetano's: the consistency. Every plate is fresh, flavorful, beautifully prepared, and satisfying without leaving you feeling weighed down. Every visit feels special. Every person we've encountered has made us feel genuinely welcome. The restaurant itself is also unbelievably cool. Gaetano's history as a former mob hangout is displayed throughout the building in photographs, stories, and décor. You aren't just eating dinner--you're surrounded by a piece of Denver history. The atmosphere has character, the food has soul, and the people make you want to keep coming back. Next year, we're planning to stay in Boulder when we visit Colorado, but we will absolutely be making a special trip into Denver specifically to eat at Gaetano's. That's how much we love this place. Gaetano's is not just one of our favorite restaurants in Denver. It has become part of our Denver tradition. Donovan, we love you. Thank you for remembering us and making every visit feel like we're returning to see an old friend. Dan, it was truly a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for the laughs, the wonderful service, and the key lime pie. Denver, please understand how lucky you are. This place is an absolute gem. Grazie di cuore e a presto!
