My steak was a perfect sirloin cut. It was cooked perfectly and flavorful. I added my usual Worcestershire and enjoyed it entirely. My husband was not as great, but our waiter took care of us entirely. We had the fried mushrooms. They were pretty good. The salads were mediocre. Same with our other sides. We were buying a car at Mountain States Toyota and met our son from Ft. Collins for lunch. We arrived on a Saturday about 1:30 pm. The restaurant was moderately busy. The hostess was nice and seated us at a both. The atmosphere is relaxed, with dated wooden booths and tables, along with an outside area that is pet friendly. Our server, a young woman, was friendly and attentive. I'm sorry, but I can't remember her name. She took our drink order and brought the beers for my son and I, but initially seemed to have forgotten my wife's Coke. Not a big deal. They have some very affordable specials, and my son and I ordered the double cheeseburger and waffle fries while my wife had a steak with steak fries. I found the burger mediocre. It tasted fairly bland, no charred flavor, with lettuce, tomato, and onion that did not stand out to me. The waffle fries were just OK, not soggy but not crispy, either. My wife said her steak was just so-so. My wife wanted a refill of her Coke, and asked for one to go, but the server said, "I don't have that". I'm not sure what that meant: she didn't have to-go cups, or they don't provide that service. Perhaps Mickey's does not do take-out orders. I don't know for sure. Came here on a friend's suggestion for an out-of-town reunion dinner. We were a party of nine, and while there was a brief moment of host confusion at arrival, it was quickly sorted out and we were seated. An 18% gratuity is included for parties over six. We were seated at mixed tables and jokingly made a "kids' table," which actually worked out great and made the night fun and relaxed. Our server, Hector C., was excellent, friendly, playful with our boisterous group, and great with the kids (7 and 14). He kept the energy up and handled our large party well. For the table, we ordered fried mushrooms (juicy) with ranch and calamari. The ranch was creamy and delicious, and the marinara was chunky, herby, and nicely acidic. I ordered the pineapple kabobs rare, the first medallions were juicy and perfectly cooked, though the last ones came out a bit overdone. Pricing has understandably gone up and the house wine is still pretty reasonable when compared to local restaurants. Stephanie "G Money" took care of us last weekend and did a spectacular job. She was amazing with the recommendation and was fast in bringing us food and our beverages. We really appreciate her! The ambiance has been consistent, the parking is a little tricky but loop around the back of the restaurant and you can find plenty of parking. I do think the pricing of the steak with $28 for a 12oz sirloin is a little steep, but then again, I'm comparing to chain where they might have a better cost due to the size of corporation vs small local business. We had the soup of the day with chicken rice soup and I probably should have gone with the salad as the cup of soup felt small. Tasty but really hot temperature, watch out for your tongue. The Hawaiian Steak was delicious, well marinaded and the cooking temp to medium rare was spot on in my opinion. I've been here a few times and their steaks are definitely... well seasoned. No additional sauces needed. I do think if you're on a lower sodium diet to call it out, as their chefs do not skim on seasoning here. Truly an underrated hidden gem! This was by far the best meal of our Colorado trip so far. Your dinner comes with a side and a soup or salad. I made a reservation for two on a Monday just to be safe. There is a bar side and restaurant side. I chose the restaurant side because I like it to be a bit quieter for my meals. Our server Hector was a rockstar. Answered all our questions and gave great recommendations and checked on our periodically to make sure we were doing well. I ordered the 8oz filet with a salad and loaded baked potato. The filet was cooked to my favorite rare temperature and the flavor was exceptional. The baked potato was amazing and well cooked and topped off with bacon, cheese, butter, and sour cream. We also ordered a king sirloin with cowboy butter and another loaded baked potato. It was eaten so fast it was delicious. The side salads were a decent size as well. Our drinks were delicious as I ordered the Rosa Paloma and my boyfriend ordered their rotating ipa which was something made by Breckenridge brewing. The steaks are extremely well priced as our whole meal was $80 and the quality was top notch. A must try in the Denver area! read more

We came with a large group that had an advance reservation. There were 30 of us. They had several tables together in the middle of the room. We were seated at the overflow table with 6 other folks. We arrived with the last group. Our table ordered drinks, those were delivered. We ordered appetizers and those were delivered. Then we placed our dinner order. All came out in a timely manner and our server made sure our waters were filled and that we had everything we needed. We got the warm bean dip and chips as an appetizer. It consisted of a bowl of refried beans with some melted cheese on top and a dressing sized cup of salsa. Both were tasty. I ordered the Mickey's Top Sirloin, as it is their signature dish. I asked for medium which should be pink. My husband went with medium rare which should be lots of pink. He got a baked potato with sour cream and butter as his side. I had the mashed potatoes and gravy as my side. Our salads came out and were good. The dressings were correct. The salads are mostly lettuce with a bit of additional veg and two slices of pepperoni. Our dinners came and mine was medium well if it was anything and the meat was quite tough. The brown gravy for the mashed potatoes was very salty. My husband said his steak was ok, it looked like what I pictured for medium. He also said the baked potato was good. Overall, our service was great. The food was so-so. If I was returning with a group, I think I will focus on the Mexican entrees. I know from past experience that they are top notch. I will note that while we arrived after the large group table was full and ended up on the overflow, we had ordered, eaten and paid and the large table who started putting in drink orders before we arrived had still not received their food. I know large groups can be tricky, but there was a reservation in advance and the restaurant was aware of the head count for staffing. It was a really.. good.. steak. I was dancing in my seat so GOOD! My boyfriend and I both got the tbone steak dinner with salad and side. I got mine medium and it was a medium rare which is fine... just know that maybe it'll be less done than you think? Could depend on the cook as well. Also I feel like a tbone might be tricky to get an even temp throughout. I didn't love my Cesar salad.. it was like a store bought vinaigrette.. not bad but I wanted homemade.. maybe I'm wrong though. Margaritas are good and the service is what you would expect. Service was lacking and we had to ask for sides that were ordered water refills etc. Place was not busy as it was late so no real reason for the lack of service. Meat was not cooked as requested. I was told the Pork chop was Tasty, as was the chicken parm. Locals Said the cocktails are the thing to go for but our party was not drinking so can't comment on that. Hands down one of the best hidden gems in Denver! We've lived just five minutes away for over a year, and I can't believe we waited this long to try it. The prices are extremely reasonable--$30 for an 8oz filet with two sides is almost unheard of. Even better, the steak was easily top 5 for me: tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the lasagna, which came in a generous portion. He loved it--said it was everything he wants in a lasagna. Wow... we moved to Loveland a few years ago and hadn't been to Mickey's in a while. Went on our way to the Monday night Broncos game and what a disappointment. We have gone to Mickey's since the early 90's and always loved it. This time, the food, the service and the entire experience was disappointing. The dining room wasn't even open and there was only one woman working the bar/waiting tables. The steaks were low quality and not cooked properly and we spent $80 for two of us, and we didn't even order alcoholic drinks. We won't be back. I got the 8 oz filet with cowboy butter and a loaded baked potato with a side caesar salad. The filet was cooked exactly how I wanted it and it tasted amazing with the cowboy butter. The caesar salad was good as well. Prices weren't too bad either for a steak as the serving was big. They even gave me a free sampling appetizer since it was my first time there and told me the story behind why they serve what they serve on the sampler. Went for burgers today, bad experience No cheese, meat was too much season, I love burgers with old salt&pepper, this had a lot of seasoning, I asked for sautéed mushrooms, they came from a can and they just put them on the side, fries were the worst, it had paprika or something red seasoning . The food is usually good, but not that night. My friend ordered prime rib. Neither of us could figure out what got served. It was a dry and over-cooked chunk of beef that bore no resemblance to prime rib. I had fish & chips. my dish was OK, butt I would never order it again. I should have gotten the hamburger, ,but I didn't see a simple hamburger on the menu. I'm sure it's there though. I've has the sirloin before, but it is usually tough but still tasty.
