Life is short. So, when you decide that you want a burger for lunch, and when you've got the time on your schedule; and when you have the ability to do it . . . shouldn't you not just settle for a burger you know's going to be okey, but shouldn't you make the effort to search out what might be an exceptional burger? Sure you should. So I had the time to drive 20+ minutes from work to get to the northside to try out the Little Wolf's burger bar located inside the establishment and called the "Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." (Don't ask me why.) I made the drive mainly because I'd asked AI where some of the best burgers were in Denver area and one of the answers (when I asked for "quality ingredients") was "Little Wolf/Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen." Made the drive for the Durango-sourced Colorado Wagyu beef/cheese burger that cost just a bit more than $10 a pop. Rating right up at almost a perfect 5 stars, the drive was worth it. And what made it so great? Not just the burger, but because as soon as I walked in the proprietor's first words were, "Want an ice cream cone on us?" While I thought it must have been because of my stylish aplomb and in-command presence . . . turns out everyone gets the same offer. (What a great marketing idea:). Took my burger, which by the way, tasted great, but of course ate my soft ice cream teaser cone first. Turned out to be a fine idea. End result? When you're looking for a great place for a blue-collar burger at an extremely reasonable price be sure to make the drive to the northside to give Little Wolf's a bite. I came here in the later afternoon with a couple of friends for a late lunch/early dinner. I think we ordered an app, but now I can't remember. They guys got burgers, which were inhaled. I got the pickleball sandwich which was effing delicious and spicy. They guys also got some whisky flights, which they seemed to enjoy while I drank wine, heh. This place goes by Little Wolf on one side and Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen on the other side. Visiting Denver and looking for a quick bite to eat. Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were kinda confused at first because of the 2 names. They are wanting to be a fancy kind of bar on one side and the other side more of the restaurant, however you can eat on either side. The bar was huge and looked like it had any alcohol you could possibly want. They serve cold pressed wagu burgers. I had just the vintage burger with no cheese and the howl sauce on the side. I used it to dip my fries and it was very good. My husband had the no means no burger which is pretty much a bacon cheeseburger. Both burgers were delicious. You needed to order at the counter and they brought your food out to you. After that we were checked on constantly to make sure everything was fine. Drinks were refilled promptly. Right before we finished we were told we had a complimentary ice cream, I chose chocolate and husband got mixed. It was just a tiny cup but after eating the meal that's really all you need. WOW this place is tasty! My fiancé and I didn't feel like cooking and recently moved to the area, so we decided to check this place out. We had driven by it many times and it has been on our list since moving. We quickly found a spot in their free parking lot behind the restaurant and walked in. We were seated immediately by a friendly server and quickly settled on our order. My fiancé got the Left on Red cocktail, which was tasty! We did expect it to have a spicy kick to it, just based on the ingredients, although it was not spicy. Nevertheless, it was tasty! We each ordered a burger, and a side of fries and broccolini. The sides were small portions, but the burgers were the main event. Wow, I can't remember the last time I had such a flavorful burger!! Seriously, do yourself a favor and get the Route 44. I was instantly sold on the prosciutto and fig mostarda combo and omg it did not disappoint. To top it all off, the restaurant was offering complementary soft serve at the end of your meal. Great establishment run by amazing, talented people. This place is quite new and well-kept. They are an American single malt bar, but they have plenty of scotch, especially from scotch malt whisky society. They also have some seriously good American bourbons and ryes back there. If you're into whisky, then this place is a must-visit for their eclectic selection. The food here is quite good. Had a few "meh" moments with food, but also had a few impressive moments with the food. Never had anything bad. I am signed up to get alerts for their events. I love the events that they put on. For me, this is the biggest reason why I come here, even though I have to fight over an hour of traffic to get here. It's worth it to me. Unfortunately that geographical challenge means that I am not likely a regular for casual hang outs and happy hours. But location is very nice (just not for my personal convenience lol). read more

Stumbled across this gem of a restaurant while looking for dinner in the Tenneyson area. Greeted at the door and shown to a table. This is a combo whiskey bar and restaurant. Burgers, green chili gumbo and sandwiches are a sample of items on the menu. Ordered burgers and gumbo, all of which were excellent. Service and drinks were awesome. AMAZING! Holy flavor bomb and incredible staff! We got there early evening on a Thursday night. Had the whole restaurant to ourselves until the neighborhood families started rolling in around 6pm. We chatted with one of the owners, Clark who has been in the beverage and restaurant industry for years. Grace was our server and bartender - she can wipe up a nice cocktail! Especially when you let her know what appeals to you. Check out the 10-4 section of the menu where you select one of four classic cocktails and then you select which spirits you want to try it in. Chef Adam may be an angel! The creations coming out of that kitchen were unreal. He really explores and understands combining unique flavors. I loved hearing about the influences that helped him come up with many of the dishes including incorporating some Brazilian elements as a nod to Cafe Brazil who use to reside in that location for decades. Highly recommend the Salchipapas - make sure you mix it up with the greens on top before eating. Black garlic goat cheese bread - I have never tasted anything like it. Incredible. But be sure to put the marinara sauce in it. Xtudo smash burger - this burger could win a burger competition. It is juicy, flavorful, and unique with the corn, linguine, and bacon combo on it. I will be returning already (twice in one month) because it was that wonderful of an experience. I was sad to see a neighborhood staple - Cafe de Brazil leave but I am thankful Little Wolf has come in and given us a fresh neighborhood god too restaurant. read more

Unbelievable!!! One of the best burgers I've had in the state of Colorado. Top 5 for sure. So gluten friendly as well, great buns. Such a chill and low key but funky and welcoming environment. Last evening was our second visit to Little Wolf and the change in menu and staffing made quite a positive impression on my wife and me. The cheese curds, fish and chips, the burger with fig jam and pineapple, the fries and my Old Fashion were amazing. Even the vibe of the restaurant and its staff are more upbeat, friendly and accommodating. I love the soft serve ice cream for dessert too. Really great first experience here! I think they've only been open a month so not very busy on a Thursday evening. The environment is comfortable but nothing too special. Our server Brad was very helpful with drink recommendations and even made an Espresso Martini (the proper way) for me that was super! We loved all the food we got- goat cheese bread, deviled eggs and chicken sandwich. My boyfriend loved all his drinks and this food as well! We definitely want to return!
