    After coming back for that Breakfast Carbonara, I'm updating my review to say Met Back Bay has earned a straight 4/5 stars! I could eat that Carbonara for days ... so creamy and cheesy - you can't stop even if you wanted to. You'll be like "I'm full" but find yourself with another forkful of pasta in your mouth. Get your reservation in though, this is a poppin' brunch spot! I also came in for a bite one night after work. The Boy and I grabbed 2 seats by the bar. They have daily deals and Monday night is $5 burgers so we both ordered the Mexico City burger topped with jack cheese, jalapenos, guacamole, cilantro, fire-charred salsa. We also ordered Buffalo Wings. These were large wings, but they were also connected - so the flats and the drumsticks you had to separate yourself. My one gripe is I wish they came split because it's difficult enough to pick up a pipin' hot wing but to have to split them is just an extra difficulty.

    My girlfriend surprised us and brought us to the met back bay for a hOt chocolate flight. I have to say that the spiked hot chocolate flight was delicious. My husband got the regular hot chocare flight and it was ok. I am giving this place a 4 start because we couldn't just have the flights without ordering food. Didn't love that we had to buy food!

    The salad bacon was 1/2 thick, half raw and 100% fat...NO MEAT. The chopped salad was not finely chopped enough.

    LOCATION: 5 STAR... step down the stairs to a below the sidewalk level (AKA hidden from your spouse) outdoor deck with benches and umbrellas for shade. (Speaking of shade, Cheaters...this one's for YOU!) SERVICE: 4 STAR...our waiter was friendly, but not chatty about the menu items... and I'm one of those food lovers that has questions.) FOOD: 3 STAR...My "Back Bay Chopped Salad" was...NOT GOOD. The lettuce was not truly chopped, but pretty large. The minced texture of a chopped salad is the whole allure. The bacon was the biggest disappointment. It was about a half an inch thick. Sounds great, right? Every single piece was 100% fat with no pork meat on it. To make matters worse, it was not well done. So, it maintained a chewy, fatty texture that was gag-worthy. (See photo) My dining partner's chicken stir-fry Bowl was full of gourmet goodness. The truffle fries were mouthfuls of oily, salty goodness...whose flavor fullness surprised us. HINT: Have the truffle fries. Skip the salad!

    Great brunch option but they cannot serve wine until 11am due to an ordinance because they are located so close to a church. You can put your order in and they will bring once they are able. Good brunch menu. Avocado toast is delicious and as it was served on a wooden plank instead of a plate, the bread did not get soggy from the plate sweating. Nice outdoor seating section in the summer and the staff is attentive. Note, they will not seat you until your full party arrives, even if there are open tables (which is the norm for the area).

    This place is great for lunch or dinner! The waiters are very nice. They are always attentive and very nice. The food is awesome and the rice bowl is incredible! They also have amazing salads and fish. It is a bit pricey but the food is very good and worth it. Beware the chicken parmigiana! It is meant for 3+ people and it is an enormous piece of chicken that you cannot possibly finish alone. The bathrooms are also very clean. The place is kept very very clean and everything looks very classy.

    Went for the flatbread Sunday and let me just say, I'm very into a good flatbread! This was more just pizza, a thicker/chewier flatbread rather than thin and crisp but still very very tasty!! Why cut it into 5 pieces though? Why make my boyfriend and I stare at the last slice with a silent battle for the pizza? But very good. I've had their bloody Mary's many many times as well which are out of this world and I blame for a big part of my brunch addiction! Only thing is they run out of whole drinks, early in the night. We went at 6 pm and were told that they were out of the kind of white wine we ordered for the day? Which seems weird for such a nice spot. But nonetheless, a great place!

    I went with a friend for brunch and we were seated in a room by ourselves. It was nice to have the privacy, as no one else joined the room during our meal, but the larger open area with windows looking over Newbury Street would have been nicer. I would recommend asking for seating with windows. The service was quick, not a lot of waiting as we were the only people in our area. We split a sweet and savory-Nutella French toast and white egg scramble. Nutella ft has ricotta cheese in it, FYI. Food was average, we expected better for the price.

    I planned a weekend trip to Boston months in advance. I do not travel without a list of at least 10 restaurants and bars (burgers & dives to the destinations fanciest) and since our hotel was nearby, I had the MET on the list. MET Back Bay in the heart of Boston's posh Back Bay neighborhood, MET Back Bay occupies an historic 1877 brick townhouse on the corner of Newbury and Dartmouth Streets. The space has been meticulously renovated and is modern, elegant and comfortable while paying homage to the classic style and timeless beauty of the building and surrounding neighborhood. MET Back Bay's menu blends new American cooking with contemporary continental cuisine and embraces quintessential New England ingredients. Had Sunday brunch at 10am on a Sunday. It was quiet, not a lot of customers. Waiter was very friendly....hostess..MEH..maybe not awake yet..... I cannot stress enough that a Hostess has a VERY important role as it is the 1st impression of the establishment (other than outside decor) Bad hostess and the establishment is already in the cross hairs before the guests are seated. The Brunch menu is too limited and should have more of the breakfast items on it (breakfast is served MON-FRI) Would have killed for the Capt. Crunch French Toast with real maple, whipped butter or more omelette options Brunch menu looked more geared for the "day after a heavy night of drinking: burgers & heavier fare) It had a nice, (although small) bar in the "Library" room. We had these items that were very good --Eggs & Biscuit Benedict--north country black forest ham / red eye hollandaise --Red, White & Blue Pancakes with blueberries, strawberries & whipped cream Good website They have a HAPPENINGS page chock full of nightly events they have (Wednesday lobster Night, Craft Bloody Marys.     Best place to get truffleFries and a damn good Cosmo. I've been coming here over the years and never have been let down by the tasty fries. They're also known for their cold cuts and cheeses. It's a nice cozy location in the back Bay. Nice neighborhood restaurant. Good place for taco Tuesdays for 6 bucks.

    Although Met Back Bay's patio is located along Newbury Street, their actual entrance is located on Dartmouth Street. Stairs go up for the dining room, down for the lounge. An elevator is available - just ask if you need it. As this was a Boston Dine Out visit, I had the opportunity to dine out on 3 courses for $20 for a weekday lunch. At Met, however, you only received their Restaurant Week menu upon request, so I felt a bit "in the know" as every other party around me seemed to have ordered their meals off the regular menu. That, however, was the only bit of special I felt on this outing. I doubt it was because I was a singleton diner among parties of 2+ on this visit. It may had been because I had ordered a meal deal (as Dine Out may rightly be considered) and had decided to stick with just water. It could also had been that I had over did it a bit with my doggybagging (but I hate waste, and also have been trying hard to not let it all go to my waist...). But unfortunately, I also suspect it may just be their norm. While Met is a place that will make everything from scratch, except perhaps a few sauces (as mentioned by my server) and may change decorations with the seasons, it seemed to me that Met as a whole is a bit lackluster, lacking a certain attention to detail and quality control. It was 8 minutes after I had placed my order that water was poured for me as my server let me know that the freezer was broken, so there would be no ice cream with my blueberry pie. This made me sad. Pie seems plain without ice cream, and the alternate RW dessert was a sundae, so that was not available as well. I asked, and she confirmed that whipped cream was do-able. It was another 8 minutes before the appetizer - Corn & Bacon Cakes, fried sunny egg, tomato jam, summer cress was set before me on a circular wooden board. The presentation was nice and the portion generous with two cakes hidden beneath the fried egg blanket. The cakes were not quite corny or bacony enough, seeming like breakfast pancakes mostly, but the tomato jam and the liquid gold yolk raised it all to another level. But I had another two courses to go, so I left the majority of the 2nd pancake uneaten. The Blue Crab Burger, old bay mayo, smashed avocado, bacon, griddled English muffin arrived with a metal tin of unmentioned potato chips (nicely crispy, yet not overly salty), but without the listed smashed avocado. But with or without the fatty green fruit (a serving was brought to me to remedy the situation), this was one good sandwich. It was not your typical Thomas' English muffin, and the patty was crabmeat with little filler. My water glass sat empty upon my table as I finished my sandwich. Another server filled the water glasses at the table directly across from mine as I watched thirstily and came to the realization that each of the occupied tables around me had a water pitcher left on it... with the exception of mine. But my glass was later filled, and dessert arrived - Warm Blueberry Pie, vanilla ice cream, blueberry sauce. Except it wasn't warm, and there was no ice cream. The replacement whipped cream was dolloped generously on top of the whole individually portioned pie. But I had requested the whipped cream on the side since I had completely decimated the burger and so I was sure that I wouldn't be able to finish the dessert. The pie itself was quite good with a nice crust and tasty filling. But 8 minutes seems to be a trend here, as it was another 8 minutes after I was done with dessert that I was able to get the bill. My lunch hour ended up taking an hour and 10 min, and that's without travel time. Perhaps Met is paced more for those who dine with time to spare. When I left, the two people at the host stand were busy talking with each other, and so neither bade me a fare thee well. Sad to say, I was not the least bit surprised. 3 stars *** 9/2018 *** Dinner on a Monday night? Let's finally give Monday Burger Night at the MET downstairs bar a try! $4.99 each for Five ounces served on a sesame seed bun, with a choice of 3 options. We both ended up going with the THE MANHATTAN BURGER Swiss Cheese, Sautéed Onions, Bacon, Mushrooms. Mine with the mushrooms on the side. Me because of the sauteed onions, my DC because of the bacon. Both burgers arrived medium well as requested, with fries on the side and a side of ketchup. Burger patty plump, bacon (2 slices) crisp, onions oozing out. Service by our waitress was pleasant. 4 stars

    Enjoyed a simple burger on toasted brioche and gin martini on the patio for lunch, hit the spot. Burger was perfectly grilled but otherwise is served plain. Martini was well-made, served in a pre-chilled glass, for those who appreciate their drinks icy. Spacious outdoor seating is a plus, though service can be spotty/slow.

    LOVING THEIR COCKTAILS!! they were all refreshing & not syrupy or overly sweet as many cocktails can become!! we were even able to enjoy our drinks at a table in the bar area, which was nice and relaxing ---cucumber gimlet (my favorite) ---pimm's cup ---grapefruit fizz NOTE: they have a restaurant and then a bar side w/ a charcuterie bar & let me just say the food smelled amazing!!! i think i'll be coming back to try the food!

After explaining it to us, I told him I never had oysters so he gave us the appetizer for free to try! The scale of the room is genuinely impressive, leaning heavily into old-world glamour with dark velvet, chandeliers, gold accents, hidden rooms, and cocktails that feel theatrical. It's loud, energetic, and unapologetically designed for celebration nights. That said, the experience was not quite as intimate as I had hoped for. We were seated in the corner of the two-person table section, and I ended up sitting almost at the "head" of the area looking down the row of tables. It felt oddly exposed and very close to everyone around us. Instead of feeling tucked away on date night, it felt more like being inserted into the movement of the restaurant itself. The service reflected some of that energy too. The staff was clearly trying their best in a packed room, but the pace felt a little slow and chaotic at times. The food, however, was consistently excellent. The Duck Prosciutto was one of the most balanced dishes of the night. Every component stood out individually, from the manchego pimento cheese to the quince syrup and smoked almonds, yet somehow everything came together in what felt like a perfect symphony. The Seared King Trumpet Mushrooms were lighter and more restrained, but still hearty and satisfying. The Mediterranean Octopus was outstanding, easily up there with some of the best octopus dishes I've had around Boston. The Borek Spring Rolls were playful and delightful, with a shell so light and crisp that the dish never felt heavy. The Lazy Lobster Dumplings were dangerously good, rich with black truffle butter but balanced enough that I could have eaten endless plates of them. Even the Bavette Steak delivered exactly what it needed to, especially with the anchovy butter adding that deep savory punch I love. Yvonne's absolutely earns its reputation as one of Boston's premier dining scenes. It is expensive, but the atmosphere, execution, and location all make it feel intentional rather than inflated. Still, I left feeling like it shines brightest as a group-night or celebration restaurant rather than a truly intimate date spot. I would absolutely go back, but next time I'd want a table of four instead of two.

Honestly I'm pretty sure the other food here is just as good, based on what I saw on other tables. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Boston.

    First time here. We got the lobster roll. And while, sure, the menu said the pricing was 'MP'…read more(meaning Market Price, or...based upon current market conditions)...and while, sure, we didn't ASK what the price would be, on that day, I still think it would have been nice if the waitstaff voluntarily offered up that detail. (I'm certain the staff are aware that many of their diners express shock, once the price is disclosed...) Many folks simply make an assumption or a guesstimate, as to the price, when they see 'MP' on a menu, and this is usually based upon their prior experiences, ordering such a menu item. So, for example, I was thinking the lobster roll might be in the $40-45 range. So imagine my utter shock, when we received the bill, to see a charge for $69?? I have never in my life had such an expensive lobster roll. Yes, it was delicious, and the housemade potato chips were also great. The slaw was also good (though it was a very tiny amount...I would have liked more). But boy, did that price shock me. I would normally never have voluntarily ordered a $69 lobster roll. It simply never would have occurred to me, that a place would ever charge that much....
