I've been meaning to check out Megabytes Eatery and am already planning to come back with an appetite. Already ate and came to grab coffee at Loudn Roasted but needed to grab a bite to go to try it out. First, I want to mention that I truly appreciate when employees are efficient, can pump out a good product, and you can see the communication between the employees so that you as the customer are on the receiving end of that gain. The staff communicated well between each other on the amount of orders and wait time so that that information is communicated to the customer. I appreciate that! Ordered the spam musubi loco moco combo with mac salad and everything tasted delicious. The patty was thick and juicy, the gravy was plentiful and tasty, the mac salad was like what I remembered from Hawaii, and the spam musubi was a nice accompaniment. I feel so hungry writing this review, I definitely want to come back and try out other items here. Plus having little nostalgic snack and candy options doesn't hurt either! I'm not gonna tell you that it is a culinary triumph worthy of a Michelin Star... but it is worth the trip into the office building maze to find this tucked away eatery! Yelp reviews looked very interesting so I stopped in for lunch. My order was taken immediately and brought to my table pretty quickly. I ordered the House Banh Mi sandwich which was $8. Full disclosure -- I've actually never eaten a Banh Mi sandwich before. So I have no point of comparison. It was large with lots of veggies (shredded carrots, cucumber, cilantro, cabbage). I kind of expected the veggies to be pickled - but again, novice here. The roast port was very tasty, and I wished there was more of that. The other ingredients (sauce, what appeared to be very thinly sliced ham) didn't really do anything for me. And the roll itself was huge - I ended up eating less than 1/4 of it. I'm glad I tried the Banh Mi so I can cross it off my bucket list. But if I were to return to Megabytes, I'd try something else. Dishes that others were eating looked yummy, as did Yelper photos of the bacon tot bomb. I'd also try the coffee flight from the coffee house that's "within" Megabytes. read more

Personally, driving out to Chantilly = nightmare, however, driving to Megabytes = hmm...eff it, you only live once. Literally, my thought process while deciding what to eat for lunch last week. I have been here a few times as my friends who work in the area have often recommended this place. Every time I come back, I try something new and they haven't disappointed me yet. I love love the fact that they have spam musubi, definitely a bonus on top of some of the yummy stuff they have already. The Asian fusion works well with the breakfast/deli-style set up, as their unique items give Megabytes its flair and attraction. It seems as though they have a little bit of everything for all your different types of eaters out there. The breakfast items are on the heavier side with your combos of egg, bacon, and different types of bread from bagels to whole wheat, rye, and even sourdough. They have a gazillion wraps to choose from aside from the breakfast sandwiches, combos, and omelettes. ALSO, they have pancakes so (something to bribe your kids with) if you want something sweet in your life, go for it. Their menu is so extensive, I can go on, but I'm just going to say, go try it for yourself. Lunch is a delight if you enjoy anything from Vietnamese banh mi to burgers and poutine. It may seem like there aren't any options for lighter fare, but you can definitely make it work, but if you can't, no shame in a well-deserved cheat day. During my last visit, I tried the special they had, which was the Loco Moco, a contemporary Hawaiian dish, with a hamburger patty, fried egg, and gravy. IT WAS SO GOOD, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Everything about this place is awesome! I enjoy their wall decor with recycled computer parts and they even have a mini arcade area. It is definitely a walk down memory lane as they have the Super Nintendo and other classic gaming consoles set up and ready for guests to play. A little bit of nostalgia to go with the tasty food. They for sure don't fall short when it comes to the amenities. Very eclectic restaurant indeed. Decorated with various old circuit boards, floppy disks, and retro video games, this place serves up great food. I went in there looking to get a banh mi sandwich because Yelpers said it was awesome but then saw the specials board where the feature of the day was the ginger chicken bowl. I opted to try out the ginger chicken instead of the sandwich and it was delicious! And they gave me an optional upgrade of a fried egg which I said "heck yeah" to. I must congratulate myself on the good choice. The bowl also came with an eggroll. Then I noticed that they had spam musubi as well for I got one order of that ($5 for two generous portions). It worked out very well for my plane ride (airlines are not serving food during COVID) It seems like breakfast is the big thing here and they also have a coffee bar on the side. I really wish they'd open on Saturdays- I'd definitely go more often. They happen to be open on Saturday that I went but just limited menu. (I was there for the coffee next door) This review is really only for their spam musubi. Their spam musubi is unique in that there's macaroni salad inside it and the spam is cooked in egg so there's a thin layer of egg. My friend LOVED it so much- she killed all 4 that she purchased within hours. (This was after a large breakfast) She was raving about it. It doesn't look pretty but who cares, right? I also ordered some tots bc was feeling some- they came out hot and fresh in those typical checkered red fast food containers . I love how no frills and not fancy it is here- it's just good food. It's also family run- and nothing beats a small business chugging out some good food at humble prices. read more

This place is so cute inside! There are motherboards plastered on the walls, the front counter contains candies and snacks and there are areas where you can actually hang out and game. We came here for breakfast and I got the metro wrap which came with a bunch of veggies and meat. I also got an order of tots and a coffee. The coffee is brewed in pots where you help yourself to. The wrap was delicious but a little on the small size. Even though it was small it was very filling. The tots were just regular tots no special seasoning on them. Overall food was good! Wish I could have tried the lunch menu since the menu looked really good too. The only downside is that they are only open during the week. So won't be able to come back unless I was randomly in town during the week again. read more

Megabytes eatery was a really pleasant surprise. I saw their specials board right inside the entrance and was immediately torn between the Loco Moco with spam musubi or the spam eggs and rice breakfast offering - eventually settling on the spam eggs and rice based on it being closer to breakfast time and because I wanted coffee from Loud'n Roasters too. I had high hopes for the meal which megabytes met in every respect - their spam eggs and rice offered a real taste of home (almost as good as Moms). Service is super friendly and they brought it out to the table since I was dining in. Megabytes shares their space with Loud'n roasted coffee which was my initial reason for going in (needing my caffeine fix). Turned out that megabytes is the real reason to be here - excellent food turned out fast by friendly folks at super reasonable prices. Highly recommend! Megabytes eatery is a unique spot surrounded by offices and private practices. Look close enough and you'll spot it, with its Pac-Man designs on the exterior, and vibrantly decorated interior. The food is great, with a wide selection of Asian-American fusion dishes as well as some breakfast staples, and a vast drink selection. One of the best reasons to come here is to try a Kiwi lemonade Calypso, because as far as I'm aware, it's one of only two spots in northern Virginia to get one. The interior is packed with gaming memorabilia, and it's cool to take a break to play a world of Mario or two while your kimchi fries are cooking down. Was in the area and needed a quick and easy bite to eat. Stumbled upon Megabytes (from yelp, because this place is located in the middle of an office park where you'd never find it), and loved it. The walls are lined with computer chips. There is a corner with old gaming systems to play. The counter has a ton of candy and asian treats (think pocky/hi chew/super mario themed candy). The menu is all over the place (there are specials listed everywhere). Prices are cheap, the service is friendly, the owner is cool. Had a sausage pesto breakfast sandwich. $4, two eggs, sandwich on sourdough, I was not mad at all. The breakfast wraps start at $1 (eggs, hash browns, cheese), and a $1 for protein and $1 for vegetables, which is an insane deal anywhere in the area. I also had a side of tots ($2) which were delicious, and a thai iced tea which was creamy and sweet and hit the spot ($3). Unfortunately did not have time to come back for lunch - they had a naem khao special that I really wanted to try (crispy rice dish). The s/o domestic partner, aka wife, had a house banh mi with pork and a friend egg. It was loaded with ingredients most other banh mi places don't typically provide and was okay. The drink station and intensil counter was pretty cool. This place is located in a more industrial business/office area and I think caters to folks who are looking to grab a quick bite for lunch. Impeccable energy as soon as you step foot into this place. I've can't recall visiting somewhere and being tempted to try the whole menu. It's a bummer I live so far away, but whenever I'm in the area I will certainly visit! Not your average deli, the interior is humble and colorful with a video game section and the decor goes along with the whole "tech" theme. It's a family run business is always a bonus for me. I chose the chicken lemongrass banh mi with tater tots. Everything was delicious and I'm eager to try their other items. They also have a large assortment of local and international drinks, and a separate coffee section (not sure if it was open when I visited, one hour before closing). We had some banh mi cravings today, so we swung by Megabytes Eatery for the first time. I have selected 3 stars, but I would say it is more like 3.5. This lunch spot has a fun atmosphere. The whole place is plastered with retro technology, circuit boards, video game accessories, and the like. Some music was pumping and the staff was friendly. It seems to cater largely to the office workers in the plazas around it, as reflected by its business hours. Prices were fair. We got a house banh mi, a spicy pork banh mi, and the spicy egg rolls ("mega hurt" egg rolls :p). The sandwiches were big and tasty. The egg rolls and spicy pork sandwich has a good heat to them. They have all sorts of food from quesadillas to loaded taters to tacos to sandwiches to asian food. Something for everyone. Would be a great place to visit with friends where everyone could order their own thing! We got the mega hurt rolls ($3) which are filled with spicy pork, onions and pepper. I didn't try these but my husband said they were really good and the spiciest egg rolls he's ever had! We also got the daily special chicken & shrimp pad thai for $12. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it was pretty tasty and was a huge portion! The noodles all got stuck together but the flavor was good. My favorite thing we got was the house bahn mi. At first I thought it was a little pricey at $7.50 but changed my mind as soon as I saw it- that thing is huge!!!! And so delicious. Crispy bread stuffed to the brim with pork, pate, cabbage, jalapeno, pickled carrots, cucumber, and cilantro, topped with house sauce. Definitely give this a try. We came here right after landing in Dulles on our way to NC so we were hungry. The owner is such a sweetheart and was very patient and informative while we tried to figure out what to order without ordering the entire menu. What we swallowed/ordered later for dinner as well: TRIO COMBO: LAOS SAUSAGE, ROASTED CHICKEN, ROASTED RIBS, STICKY RICE, PAPAYA SALAD: This was A LOT of food, but it was the special of the day and I wanted to try everything. The Papaya salad had a kick I wasn't ready for but it was good. The laos sausage I thought was dry and didn't finish. The roasted chicken was good and so was the ribs. It was a nice combo. SPAM MASUBI: What a spam masubi should be, portable and full of delicious goodness. These were the perfect treat for our road trip. Good at lunch and even more delicious a couple hours later in the car. HOUSE BANH MI: I had this for dinner and it was delicious. Megabytes is probably one of the hidden gems of the Chantilly/Centreville area. Location: hidden in the corporate buildings around it like one of those random delis you'd find within a corporate center. Parking is a hit or miss. I haven't been here for the lunch rush so I have no idea how bad it can get. Service: this isn't a restaurant where you sit and get served. You order at the counter and find your seat. They will bring your order to you! The girl at the counter is presentable and extremely nice. Food: LOVE the menu. There's a good variety. It appears they make dishes for those who aren't looking for an Asian fusion dish which is great. I've had their egg rolls, spam masubi, and summer rolls. All were delicious. The food is a mix of deli and asian fusion. I think the food was ok to good. I had a cheese steak and it was edible but not yummy. The tots were good but hard to mess that up. The owner is extremely personable and you can tell he takes so much pride in his establishment. I love that they have rice porridge for the cold winter months. It reminds me so much of my childhood.
