I tried Meat U Anywhere last night at the Grapevine "Christmas Capital of Texas" event, and it was hands down some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time. The food truck was serving at Main street, and everything was absolutely delicious! I also had the chance to meet the owner, Andy, and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and community. He's was very supportive of first responders & military folks and an all around great guy! My family comes here almost every Sunday because we love BBQ and this place has consistently the best we have found. The pulled pork, brisket, jalapeno sausage, turkey and pork ribs are all amazing! The sides are all hand made and very tasty as well. Not to mention the staff has been amazing here for several years. Today they broke out something new - a grilled chicken dish that has great flavor, yet different than the normal smoked chicken on the menu. I was in the area with my girlfriend and was lead here by the excellent Yelp reviews. What a wonderful surprise. As soon we walked in a nice gentleman gave me an overview of the menu and their ordering system. While we decided what to order, he offered us a sample of the brisket, which was tender and smokey. We ordered the fatty brisket, ribs, turkey, creamed corn, southern style coleslaw and fries. The brisket was amazing - better than anything I've had in the northeast. The turkey was moist and well seasoned. The ribs could've been a bit more tender but were also very well seasoned. The sides were great and the bbq sauces were delicious. The service was great. There was no wait time for food and it was hot and fresh. The atmosphere was exactly what a good Texas BBQ restaurant should be. The best thing anyone ordered: the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese with penne pasta. It seems ridiculous to say that the Mac and cheese is a reason to visit this place but I stand behind it. It was amazing. The good: the brisket, the large loaded potatoes, and surprisingly the creamed corn. The bad: the pulled pork was subpar for a bbq restaurant. Ok, I was not impressed one bit. We paid $70 for 2 pounds of brisket. This is just brisket, no sides. We asked for moist and it was dried and sliced with different thickness. The most disappointing over priced BBQ I've had. Ive had much better brisket elsewhere and paid $25, which comes with 1 pound of moist brisket that's actually moist and tender plus 2 sides and a dinner roll. Never coming back here again. read more

What a cute little treasure. There are soooo many places to eat in this area that it baffles your mind. We used to just often visit and just go to our favorite places but recently we have been trying to expand our circle and introduce new finds. We arrived at this bbq place about a half hour before closing... no, not to see how nasty they could be so close to closing, but because it was a long day and we were starving. It was our first time and we were looking at the menu on the board( you order at the counter... not your table). The young man asked what we wanted but we said it was our first time so we weren't quite ready. At that point he turned around and we just looked at each other like to say how odd that was. He then proceeded to put on a little paper that they use on their trays a sampling of their meats... a generous sampling of several options. Whoa... what? He proceeded to tell us what was what and told us some crowd favorites. SOLD! He wasn't upset at our late timing or indecisions on the menu. He was kind and generous with the food and his Texas charm. So then onto our ordering of bbq plus the sides...he followed up with saying if anything wasn't as expected, just to come back to get something different. Like seriously... clone this guy... this is customer service and appreciation, and needless to say, this is what humanity should be!! This place is a must visit! My husband and I both agreed this was the best bbq we have had. We got a sample of brisket, ribs, and turkey and they were all a 10/10. The Mac n cheese is incredible. We ended up getting a pound of turkey and two large containers of burnt end soup to take home and freeze for sandwiches and an easy dinner. Wow... I moved to Colorado but I still dream about this place. I would always go as soon as they open on a weekend (Sunday usually). Honestly, that's my best tip is to go early as soon as they open if you want the best quality. I'm a huge brisket fan and I can truly appreciate a nice char. Stopped by on our way fishing. You could smell the BBQ down the street and I'm not one to resist. Menu is very straight forward, which I love. Cashiers were super friendly. We went with the sandwich combo - $17 for a side, meat of your choice on a bun and a drink to go. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Cool place - decor wise. However a bit cluster-phobic as there was quite a traffic jam going to grab your drink or making your way to the ladies room, single rr. We had both a chopped and sliced brisket which was nice and tender, very smokey which I'm not a fan of and disappointingly flavorless. The portion I'm guessing is suppose to make up for the lack of flavor. I prefer my flavor comes from the meat not the sauce. However, to each their own- I wouldn't say I don't recommend this place as I only had this one meat but I don't believe in quantity over quality. The jalapeño & bacon Mac n cheese had great flavor in each bite and wasn't too greasy as some can be. I would go back for that but the meat was def not worth another drive out here. Hi folks. Wow. The 4.5 rating on this place? Too low. Grapevine has the best BBQ in Texas. The rich, heady smell of real hardwood smoke hits you from Northwest hwy. Deep into your body oddy oddy. Walk in, order Chopped Brisket Sandwich, and a rib plate with fries. Thank me later. The fries are these monster handcut jobbies that are super thicc, super golden brown, but like a baked potato inside. These are better than my best, and mine are first baked, then cut and chilled in a salt brine over night, then deep fried, removed, cooled, then flash fried. Yes multi stepped, and they killed mine. The ribs - Fall off the bone, then chew the bone ends for the marrow. That good. The slow smoked kind. The BRISKET- Note all caps. That good. Taste like it should be called Texas. It is everything we are. Robust,,lean,,fatty,,hearty,,saucy,,in-your-face,, unapologetic,,likeitoryoucanmovesomewhereelsegood. It's it's own meal. No sides necessary. Maybe a cot, pillow, kick your shoes off and get ready to be sleepy and have raunchy dreams kinda good. i've been meaning to try this place for a while now. We ended up getting brisket, turkey and a few sides. (potato salad, corn and cole slaw with chunks of instant noodles). yeah, you read that right...cole slaw with pieces of dried instant noodles. it wasn't bad, just interesting. Out of the two pieces of meat, the brisket was the better one. But honestly both were a bit dry. Not sure if we went on a bad day, or if this is how they typically serve the meat. The brisket could also use a bit more seasoning. I always try and compare BBQ places to Roy Hutchins (my favorite bbq spot) and this place wasn't as good. Also, maybe i missed it, but i didn't see them offering bread. =/ The service was really great, they were super helpful and polite. They have a few tables inside, and a small soda fountain machine. I think it's easiest for me to just list what I ordered and my opinions of them. Brisket: tender and moist, but could use just a tad more seasoning. A lot of brisket slices come on the sandwich so you can easily take half the meat home and make another sandwich with your bread in the kitchen. Sausage: also good, though clearly not made in the restaurant. About the correct amount of sausage comes on the sandwich with maybe a slice or two extra. Macaroni and cheese: really weird. The pasta used was penne and the sauce was watery. Would not recommend at all. Creamed corn: about what you'd expect from cream corn. We were asked by out-of-state friends to pick up Meat U Anywhere rub as a gift for someone in their family. We agreed to run the errand and after smelling the delicious food being served, decided to stay for a quick meal. It took us a minute to find the place and parking was a bit of a challenge for an early Saturday lunch. The line for orders moved quickly and efficiently and service was very cordial. We ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, ribs, bacon jalapeño mac and cheese and banana pudding. Everything was delicious! The dining room was clean and comfortable and we were impressed by the hard working staff keeping everything stocked, clearing tables and sanitizing tables after use. Food was delicious and had a tone of flavor. I usually don't like pork ribs but these had the perfect amount of season to sauce ratio and the smokey taste had me coming back. The service was bar none. They even let my kid taste two meets so she can decide which sandwich to have. Having eaten at over 300 barbecue restaurants, I'm a fairly good judge of quality. MeatUAnywhere is a top-tier barbecue joint, not to be missed.   Upon entering, you will join a line waiting to place your order. There's always a line during peak times. Don't worry though, the line moves quickly.   The barbecue is an excellent representation of true Texas barbecue. It's slow smoked just feet from the service counter. The briskets have a thick smoke ring and peppery bark, just like you expect in Texas. Each meat option is prepared with the same expertise. Don't miss the Turkey breast. It's melt-in-your-mouth wonderful. If you order their sandwich, I hope you're hungry. It's going to take both hands. My wife loves the brisket breakfast tacos. And incidentally, my wife worked at a barbecue restaurant in Abeline in her college years, and pretty much refuses to go willingly to any barbecue joint now, apart from this one. Here is the bottom line, if you are visiting the DFW area and want a true taste of Texas, this is the restaurant I would recommend. For Texans that know good barbecue, this is easily a top 50.   The Grapevine location has a small footprint. Parking can be a bear. If you have a choice, don't arrive during peak times. The restaurant has a Texas vibe. It's casual, and the tables are close together. It does get a bit noisy. There's a second location down HWY 114 heading west. It's a little larger and just as awesome.   If you eaten at MeatUAnywhere, you've had true Texas barbecue. Add that accomplishment to your culinary resume. read more

I ordered the sandwich combo and tried to explain that I didn't want a drink and asked for a side instead of fries. The girl behind the register mostly blinked instead of answering my questions. I ended up with a $23 bill for a sandwich and two sides. I just wanted water and instead of just giving me a cup, she charged me for bottled water. I was the only person in line, so it wasn't an issue of being busy and in a rush. The sandwich was fine with plenty of meat, but the cole slaw and potato salad were nothing special. They also came in tiny containers for $4.00. I didn't notice anyone smiling or making eye contact so the vibe wasn't exactly friendly. I had an appointment to get to so I didn't ask for a manager.
