I was in the area for a dental hygiene conference and one of my patients who lived in this area told me that I MUST try this place out before heading back to FL. I'm so glad I did! I went came around 3pm on a Saturday and thankfully it wasn't too busy, however I decided to order for take out since I had to get back to my Airbnb. It's pretty spacious and they have a lot of tables, plenty of parking on the plaza. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I had no idea what to get but decided to go with the 2 meats and went with the chopped brisket and chicken breast, both wow so delicious. For my sides I went with the carrots and Mac & cheese. I was told by the staff that the carrots is one of their best and they did not lie! Even if you're not a carrots fan, wow they're soo good! I love Mac and cheese so of course I had to try theirs. I just have to say writing this review is making me upset knowing I can't have this again until I go visit Texas again.. Wah I definitely recommend any local or tourist in the area if you're looking for a great bbq place, I know when I come back I'll be going back!

Grapevine, like the whole metroplex has become inundated with barbecue restaurants, and I have pretty much tried them all. Bartley's, a Grapevine original, is and has remained one of the best. Todays special was a Sandwich Plate, with 2 sides, for $8.99. You can choose any meat but their Chicken Breast is what's up! With it, I ordered fries and peach cobbler. Yum! The service at Bartley's is always great! Friendly folks serving up great food, what is not to like about that? The interior is pretty classical Texas barbecue joint. Nothing overly fancy, just wood and brick and a few horns hanging on the wall. It makes for a comfortable and down home ambiance to enjoy your meal.

We dine here frequently, last time was a week or so ago, just now getting around to doing the review! Let me start by saying we love Bartleys! While virtually everybody else charges (for barbecue) by the half pound, Bartley still charges by the pound... and their pound prices are typically less than everybody else half pound price! I also like that Bartleys has jalapeño cheese, hot sausage, which I cannot find in several other places. All of their sides are very good, the only thing that's missing is ice cream. Unfortunately, they are popular and the line, sometimes is long and moves slowly. But once you get to where you can order, they do an excellent job! They are located inside of a strip shopping center and are not open on Mondays. The interior is rustic, which fits with what they're doing. However, it's clean and well-maintained! It is hands down, my favorite barbecue place! If you want the best value you can possibly get for barbecue this is where you should go!

When we pulled up to the Resturant there was a large family who had just eaten and said "get ready for a great dinner". This got us excited. The employees working the line were welcoming and obviously enjoyed being at work and serving their customers. The smell when you walked was amazing! The food on the line all looked fresh and they had a nice variety of sides. My husband got the three meat plate which comes with two sides and a roll. For under $15.00 it was a great value. I had the catfish basket served on Fridays only for $12.99. It is served with fries, hush puppies, and two sides. The catfish was absolutely delish. It came out piping hot, and the tarter sauce was also great. The fries unfortunately were pretty soggy. I did not eat them, and would ask to sub one of the sides from the line next time. Overall, this is a fantastic place for a filling value dinner. We both had enough to bring home leftovers for another meal.

The perfect stop for some authentic Texas BBQ! This hole in the wall spot was filled with the kindest people who helped us pick out some great things from their menu. It's super casual, and they stack your picks on a tray for you and you seat yourself. Everything was excellent - from the pulled pork to the perfectly grilled chicken, the BBQ flavors are exactly what you want out of Texas! The banana pudding was a great choice, and so was the Mac and cheese. Loved it!

best overall flavor of bbq in the grapevine southlake area that I have tried. ribs are full of glaze and tasty, brisket? yummy... bread? delicious.. corn bread? oh my!! chicken? the best... I am definitely coming back. we order bulk, group of 10 people. and the meat guy was funny and nice.

Delicious BBQ sauce and tasty brisket, with spicy corn bread and two 'okay' sides.

The food was served cafeteria style and the seating reminded me of my high school lunchroom. I did not mind the setup; it was just unexpected. The first stop was at the pit master to choose the meat and I made sure to tell him it was my first visit. I got a juicy chopped brisket there. The next stop was where I chose my bread (I again mentioned that it was my first visit) and the person there recommended that I get the jalapeño bun and it was really good. It was not too spicy and added a nice flavor to the sandwich. He also suggested the street corn and the macaroni and cheese and I enjoyed those as well. I had a sprite fountain drink which did not taste that great so I got the sweet tea for my refill and that was really good. All the food was really good and there was plenty for me to take back to the hotel. I liked the fact that they had to-go containers and bags readily available so I didn't have to go back to the register to ask. I didn't try the peach cobbler until a couple days later but it was really good as well. I would definitely dine here if I am in Texas again and I highly recommend this restaurant. Everyone I spoke to was really nice and helpful throughout my visit. There were people walking around and checking on everyone and one disposed of my tray/trash while I was getting a refill and another brought the to-go container and bag to me since I did not see the spot where they were situated. It was a great start to my visit.

The brisket was good, and the ribs were phenomenal. But the best part was the customer service. After hearing I was from out of town, and seeing I had brisket and ribs on my plate, the guy taking my payment said I should try the sausage, so he gave me a plate of sausage on the house. Great service! Then when I was leaving, I said another thank you, and a young lady asked me if I wanted a tour of the smokers and kitchen! So cool! She, Kamy, turned out to be one of the owners. Had a great tour, met the pit boss, and when I told her how much I enjoyed the ribs, she said they make their own rub, and would I like a sample to take home? Of course I said yes, thinking she'd give me a little sample, but she brought out a big ziplock bag ... probably 2 lbs of rub. Amazing! They made such an impression, I went back for lunch the next day as Monday is the day they have burnt ends ... and their maple-chipotle sauce on them made them amazing! So ... there are a lot of great BBQ joints in Dallas, but they've definitely made me a fan! Thank you Kamy and the LaFaver family!

As a result, they were fresh and hot when they were served about 10 minutes later. After a so-so meal, I was looking forward for soft serve ice cream.
