First time experiencing Feedstore BBQ. Seems like a long standing well known place for BBQ. You go through a cafeteria line, share what meat you would like and pick out your sides. You actually pick up a bowl and get your own sides except fries/okra. Those two items they will bring out to your table. Burnt ends are served on Mondays and Saturday so of course I chose burnt ends and two sides. It was a generous portion of meat and I selected okra and green beans. The burnt ends were covered in sauce, which was really good with just a touch of spice. The green beans were seasoned so well with some sort of pork. The okra was amazing! Lightly breaded spices were perfect really really tasty. The staff were pleasant. The music was at the right level and you could sing along to old country tunes. I have eaten near a couple years ago and I remember the food being so good. So we had the towel french fries which were awesome and then I had the four piece rib with two sides. I had to say I was pretty disappointed in the ribs. They were very dry and way too salty. I only ate one and a half not even. The folks that run are awesome. I just find the food ordinary, disappointing. read more

Contemplating between ribs and brisket, I chose the latter. Between lean and traditional cut, I again opted for the latter. Most likely due to the thin slices, the brisket dried out. Great barbecue does not need sauce. I was tempted to drown the brisket in it. First time I enjoyed the sides more than the meats. Initially, I was skeptical of the pinto beans. I would have preferred a more traditional sauce, but the pinto beans was delectable. The fried sides were made to order. As a result, they were fresh and hot when they were served about 10 minutes later. After a so-so meal, I was looking forward for soft serve ice cream. Unlike other restaurants, theirs is only complimentary with a kid's meal. Otherwise, it was 50 cents. Since many diners may not carry change, there should be an option to pay at the register. Ending on a the menu prices are inclusive of gratuity. Unlike other counter-service restaurants, their POS did not prompt for gratuity. Grabbed lunch to go for my hair dressers who have been in Southlake for at least a decade. I grabbed them brisket, green beans, Mac and cheese and pinto beans. They forgot how much they have missed Feedstore BBQ. The other customers in the salon smelled Feedstore and said they are leaving and stopping by Feedstore for lunch. There are plenty of barbecue places around, but most are a waste of time. This one stands out as the best--not just for the food, but for the reasonable prices and consistently high quality. They have the absolute best ribs I've ever had. The vegetables are well-seasoned, the rolls are tasty, and every order comes with Texas toast, rolls and trimmings(onions, pickles etc). For a small charge, you can add soft-serve ice cream, and it's included for free with the kids' meals. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. It's counter service--you order at the line, grab your tray, and seat yourself. They even have a back room available for group meetings. I'm not sure if there's a fee for that, but it's a great option for gatherings. read more

Really good food, and unparalleled customer service. Every time I visit Dallas, I try out one or two new BBQ spots. This time I tried Feedstore, and wasn't disappointed. The brisket was good, and the ribs were phenomenal. But the best part was the customer service. After hearing I was from out of town, and seeing I had brisket and ribs on my plate, the guy taking my payment said I should try the sausage, so he gave me a plate of sausage on the house. Great service! Then when I was leaving, I said another thank you, and a young lady asked me if I wanted a tour of the smokers and kitchen! So cool! She, Kamy, turned out to be one of the owners. Had a great tour, met the pit boss, and when I told her how much I enjoyed the ribs, she said they make their own rub, and would I like a sample to take home? Of course I said yes, thinking she'd give me a little sample, but she brought out a big ziplock bag ... probably 2 lbs of rub. Amazing! They made such an impression, I went back for lunch the next day as Monday is the day they have burnt ends ... and their maple-chipotle sauce on them made them amazing! Excellent BBQ! Brisket is incredible! Unique offerings like jalapeño sausage. There is something for everyone on their menu. Try Papas Dirty Rice for a fun side alternative. Ordered the special chicken fried steak, it was horrible. Super stringy and chewy. Also lacked flavor. I will say the mashed potatoes were great, the fried okra was good and the toast. Tasted the brisket it was ok nothing special. But cost a lot of money for mediocre food. People were friendly and the place was clean. read more

The cool little place is tucked away between some mega mansions. Really cool house to look at as you drive in. The pulled pork had a good smoky flavor. Adding the spicy bbq sauce, really added to it. This cafeteria style BBQ joint is DELICIOUS and is the epitome is quintessential Texas barbecue. Meat wise I recommend the smoked turkey, brisket, and pulled pork. For the sides, I mostly munched on the delicious French fries but the potato salad and Mac and cheese looked good too. For dessert we got the blackberry cobbler! The staff were extremely friendly and even offered us a meat sampler plate! I'm not sure that's something you can ask for, since they just offered it to us while we were deciding what to order. But it was awesome to the meats everything! Like I said, this place embodies exactly what you envision when you think Texas BBQ joint. Neon lights, wooden walls, country music. It's perfect. I have lived in Southlake so long that I remember when it really was a feed store. Timarron looked like the cow pasture it used to be before it was developed. The place is a nice, cozy spot, and the service was good. It's basically cafeteria-style when ordering. I had the two-meat combo; mine included ribs and hot links. The ribs were small and dry, and the hot links were just okay. My sides of corn and greens were fine. It's been years since I've eaten here, only because I live over an hour away. The last time it seemed more in the country, now it's all grown up around it. Inside it's What you want to see from a great BBQ place rustic and inviting. Grab a tray place your order, you help yourself to the sides you order and free hot Rolls. I got the pulled pork basket which gets two sides. I got the green beans and dirty rice. The rice was good chick full of brisket. The beans were very good, some of the best I've had. The pulled pork has to be one of the best I've had, the meat was flavorful and moist. They offer a mustard based pork sauce and it was delicious. Consistency is the key. You walk through these doors, and you know exactly what you're in for... A delicious meal! Portions are generous, the food is very good, the kitchen is very tidy and you know you're getting the excellent quality this place is famous for. Don't forget the free ice cream you dispense for yourself before you leave! And then re-up that gym membership. Sign out front said "voted best burger" so I just had to fact check:-) Second time at Feedstore BBQ and I stand by my previous 4.5 star rating. Food is fast, we'll seasoned, and filling. I would agree it's the best non-chain (aka not as good as 5 guys) local burger in the immediate area but the burger isn't as good as their BBQ menu items. Plus you get soft serve at the end of your meal which my kiddo loves and is a nice way to complete a full meal. Some of the side dishes are too expensive ($3.50 for a single scoop of coleslaw) but overall the price points aren't bad considering the quality. We had two burger meals with sodas and kids rib meal for about $50. Additionally, staff comes by frequently to clear trash/ trays and wipe down counters. Lunch is a busy time but staff handles the rush well and seems to be an efficient team. Great job all around. read more

This is a Southlake staple, top notch barbecue in the suburbs of the community. The quality of meat is superb and the sides are absolutely delicious. A small detail I love is that there is a self-serve soft serve area and they operate on an honor system, .50/cone - great deal! The inside seating area is cozy and a great spot to eat in a big group or pull up next to locals. The servings are plentiful as well so make sure you come hungry! In the back area of the building, there is grazing area for animals - it's a treat for kids to check out. Family friendly establishment, high quality food, and speedy service - such a win! read more

Three stars only for the employees. Food struggles at two star. The sliced brisket was sliced thin, first give away. It was so dry it would almost choke you. Since we're new to TX, a lot have recommended this place so we gave it a try and it didn't disappoint. Food: We ordered a pound of everything LOL not know any better but turned out great coz we had 3 meals out of it for 4 people. I loved the BBQ ribs and hubby loved the brisket. Not a fun of the sausage but it's good. Ordered side of green beans, mashed potato and potato salad--all were good. Service: Servers were helpful and accommodating gave us samples to taste. The Feedstore is one of my favorite BBQ places on this planet. When I was in middle school, my family moved from Arkansas to Texas. We searched the area for many restaurants, but when we found the Feedstore, we would come multiple times a month. I typically get the ribs and their mashed potatoes. Both are SO good. I love the seasoning on the ribs. Not many places have white gravy, but the Feedstore does and it pairs perfectly with the mashed potatoes. Their rolls always hit the spot and their green beans make eating vegetables something I look forward to. My family and I always get their onion rings. They are very thin and crunchy, just like I like them! We have since moved from Texas, but literally anytime one of us is in Dallas, we always have to get a meal at the Feedstore no matter how far it is from where we are staying. It deserves every award it has and more! I wish they would put one in Arkansas! It should have 5 stars, it is just that good! read more

super random location that seems to be in the middle of residential homes. I was driving home from southlake and was craving some bbq, and luckily found this place. We ended up getting some brisket and burnt ends along with two sides (collar greens and coleslaw). Out of the two meat items, i enjoyed the brisket more than the burnt ends. i don't think i'll find a bbq joint that serves better burnt ends than Heim Barbecue in fort worth (if you know of a spot, let me know!) I also enjoyed the collar greens. heads up: they don't serve burnt ends everyday, so call ahead and confirm if you're going for burnt ends. When we arrived, there was a line but it moves quick. I believe i also saw some lunch specials, but don't know if they're applicable on weekends. Interesting concept, where you serve the sides yourself and they'll charge you individually. I also like how they have a self serve bbq sauce and bread station. They also have pork sauce, which was interesting, and i'm not too sure what its used for? There are seats inside as well as a table out in the back if you want to eat outside and enjoy the view of the farm outback. read more

I hadn't been to Feedstore in a number of years, but the sign advertising Burnt Ends on Saturdays made my car take a turn for their parking lot! I've always loved the sides here, and the Mustard Greens and Dirty Rice were as good as I remembered, The Burnt Ends were ok, but didn't meet the high expectations I had set. Not as tender as others that I've had, and the prevailing flavor was of the sauce. However, I also ordered a few ribs - which were delicious! The seasoning is unique and really flavorful, and the meat is very tender, yet has a bit of a bite to it. Still among the best ribs in the region. read more

What a fun location. Love the outdoor seating and the animals for the kids to enjoy. The food was very topical for a TX BBQ joint with a few exceptions. We tried a little if everything. Burnt ends, which are only available certain days so check if your going for these, we very good. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and the sauce was very good. The Turkey was smoked perfectly with a light pink ring and tender. The chicken was likely our least favorite but we wanted to try it. The brisket was good, but the wet brisket better. We love the fresh cut fries. The Mac n cheese we will pass on next time, but we haven't found a Mac n cheese we have to go back for in TX. I won our families ice cream cone making contest! Friendly faces and good atmosphere. Ordered their ribs on recommendation and then some turkey. Paired it with dirty rice and spicy beans. Turkey was great, if sliced a bit thin. Ribs were a 6/10...flavor was decent, but they were quite dry and small. Beans were great, but the dirty rice was just funky and bland, just meh. The Blackberry Cobbler!
