Had a disappointing experience here the other night for dinner. I don't know if they just weren't very busy during the day--it was a weeknight--and stuff had sat most of the day on the line or in the hot box. The brisket was almost like pot roast--no bark whatsoever and not much flavor. The jalapeno sausage was the only redeeming meat on the plate. The mac and cheese is one of the worst I've ever had at a barbecue joint--it was ziti shaped pasta but was so overcooked that I couldn't pick up a piece of pasta without it falling apart. Way beyond al dente to where it looked like mashed potatoes in the cup. I hadn't been here in quite a while--either it's not as good as I remember or they were having an off night. My first time trying BBQ in Texas, and Meat U Anywhere didn't disappoint. In fact, that was the best BBQ I've ever had. Definitely best St Louis style ribs - off the bone, just perfect texture and flavor. The pulled pork was also delicious - the right amount of moisture, and very flavorful. I'd probably rate brisket at 4* - but I'm not much of a brisket aficionado anyway, next time I'll just skip it for more ribs and pulled pork and maybe something else. Enough rambling, let me break it down for for you 9.64/10- For the tortilla, it's warm, fluffy, fresh and honestly just plain dang delicious. 9/10- Eggs were not dry, good flavor and seasoning. Got to go food this weekend and was disappointed in the quality considering the price. Brisket was dried out but the jalapeño Mac n cheese was really really good. If you have to-go order and need assistance, good luck. They don't answer their phone. I tried for two days to call them to check the ingredients in potato salad because of an allergy. I called 12 times in 2 days. No answer. I assume they just don't care. Oh well, guess we'll be throwing this potato salad away because we cannot verify ingredients. Overall the experience with them was a bummer- anyone can do barbecue but it's how they treat their customers that makes a restaurant stand out. I was born in Fort Worth and grew up eating a LOT of BBQ. On the spectrum of excellent Texan BBQ, I would choose a place with fattier brisket - the smoke is there, but I found mine very much dependent on the large bottles of BBQ sauce on each table. I'd also go for a place where you can sample a few sides instead of committing to one; had we been a more intimate group we might have shared, family style, instead of awkwardly sitting around the table and asking how the cole slaw is. Lastly, a soda fountain where the only diet option is Diet Dr. Pepper. Bummer. Their unsweetened Iced Tea, however, was the most classic I had on my trip, and I appreciated the enormous black cup that eventually made its way into my carry-on home. I'm saying that he is not fair because i noticed that he gave some samples meat to the people right after me while when I asked him for samples he refused to give me some. I will not recommend this to my friends. I'm from California and I was excited to buy some here to take to California. But very disappointed how he did that to me. I still did buy but not happy because he treated me very unfairly. When I saw the people that he gave the samples to, they told me that he gave them more samples, I don't get what his issues with me. This place is small - nothing like the huge Hard Eight located a few miles away in Coppell. Enter the small queue to make your order, and the boys put it together while you pay. The brisket was terrific. Mac n Cheese is the jalapeño-added variety. It packs a little punch and is great. Sweet and Unsweet tea are proper. Fountain sodas are available. Table seating is typical for this type of bbq place, with a roll of paper towels on the tables along with the normal accoutrements like the house BBQ sauce, which is excellent. Parking is off street and in their lot. Signs at the door say that they've been voted Best of Dallas for BBQ. Well deserved. Enjoy! read more

Consistently great Barbecue in the Grapevine/Southlake border area. The restaurant is well located but parking is a bit of a problem since it is such a popular spot. Plenty of tables inside, with a handy sink outside of the bathroom to wash away all that delicious sauce. Stand in line to order your cuts, and watch them slice and trim everything to order. You can't go wrong with any of the meats on offer, although my favorites have got to be the brisket and the jalapeno cheddar sausage. Both are phenomenal. The owners/managers/staff are very generous too, and have been incredibly helpful when packing up meals to go. For large orders, they even throw in some sauce bottles...my personal favorite being the spicy one. The sides are pretty solid, with the potato salad and the creamed corn being delicious. Honestly, I could just eat the main meats with some pickles, jalapenos and onions and be a happy guy. I've never had the desserts, so can't speak to that. Honestly, one of my favorite BBQ places in DFW, and that's saying a lot.
