Efficient movers - they were just an hour late and broke one of my beds connectors while disassembling. They managed to put it back however.

I hired Maxi Moving for a move earlier this year. They were really efficient and managed to get everything from my 1 bedroom into their truck. It was truly a puzzle and was impressed they made it all fit. There was no damage to any furniture during the move which was a sigh of relief as I have experienced some furniture damage before with different movers. We used Maxi Moving for our recent move in Brooklyn. The movers were efficient and careful, making sure everything got moved in a timely manner without anything getting lost or damaged. On the day of the move, we were charged some additional fees that we weren't expecting, which was definitely a bit frustrating. After expressing our discontent, one of the co-owners, Kevin, reached out to us to rectify the situation. He was very empathetic and apologized to us for our inconvenience, refunded us the additional fees, and even took the time to explain to us what had gone wrong on their end and how they will improve their processes to prevent other customers from being caught off-guard by such fees. I really appreciated his friendly and helpful customer service. I understand that mistakes can be made, but I find it very important how the business goes about resolving and preventing such mistakes from being made again in the future. I hopefully won't be moving again any time soon, but if I do, I will trust Maxi to get the job done well! read more

Moving is never an easy task and can be extreamely stressful even when things go well. I'm glad to have chosen Maxi Moving for recent move. Maxi were fast (3.5hr to move from Williamsburg to Bedstuy), diligent (nothing broken!) and friendly. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication during the day of my move (some additional fees were charged), but this was resolved in a timely and very professional manner (one of the best customer service experiences). Maxi acknowledged the error without being defensive, and more importantly, have decided to take initiative to change their processes and training to ensure this does not happen to their future clients - a level of professionalizm that I really appreciate. They quoted me for 2.5 hours, finished around 10 minutes past, and then charged me for 3 hours. While I don't think that's fair, I believe they would've finished on time if the movers didn't spend time talking on the phone and sometimes leave for 10+ minutes. I was also charged an extra $65 for my small dining table having a thin marble table top, which wasn't included in the quote. I found the mover I interacted with, Sirazhutin, to be rude. He called the layout of my new apartment "very weird". And he said my one bedroom was really a studio. I hope he shared the $90 Zelle tip I gave with the other two movers. Edit: After my review, their customer service representative Stefan kindly reimbursed me for the 30 minutes and the dining table fee. He also let me know that they would speak to the mover about being more respectful. All of which I really appreciated. read more

I've used Maxi Moving 2 times and they were quick and relatively affordable. However, they damaged my PC monitor and told me it would be covered by insurance but, unfortunately, they are covered by Moving Claim Services, which is not a reputable business. I've been waiting 6 months to be compensated and have given up at this point. While the moving service is good, I can't possibly recommend a company who is insured by a company like Moving Claim Services in the off chance that something gets damaged. read more

Their hourly based rates are by far the most reasonable in the city, the team was on time and professional, and worked carefully but efficiently. What stood out most this second time moving was their outstanding customer service. Unfortunately our TV was inadvertently damaged in our move. When we realized it was damaged after the movers had left, we reached out to Maxi who promptly purchased us a brand new version of the exact same television that had been damaged. I booked Maxi for a move and a couch hoisting. Movers showed up hours late for the move. Movers forgot to move the furniture on our deck, and then the company tried to charge me for them to come back and finish (but ultimately did it for free when I argued). Movers called the night before the couch hoisting and pushed back the time by several hours--even though I had carefully coordinated the time with Maxi and the sofa delivery company--and then were hours late from the NEW time. Movers tried to charge double the quoted price for hoisting the sofa because it was a 2-piece sectional, and only agreed to honor the original price when I showed them I had sent the company a link to the sofa. Hoisting the sofa through the window (apprx 8 feet off the ground) required 45 minutes and no special equipment--just 4 guys lifting it up and through--but somehow cost $850 before tip. read more

I don't know how they disassembled and reassembled Ikea furniture that was held together by the friction of little wooden pegs, but they did. I've used them twice now and recommend them to everyone I know who is moving. a tip for new customers, make sure you give accurate information about your furniture and your apartment. I made sure they knew I was moving from a second floor walkup to a third floor walkup and clearly labeled all my boxes with the room I wanted them brought to, and the move in was smooth and quick and ended with everything where I wanted it. if I ever move again I will be using Maxi again. read more

I booked this moving service over two weeks prior to the move date, and provided a substantial deposit. They were booked to arrive between 9 to 10am on moving day. I dealt with a lot of back and forth and delays the morning of the move; with the job ultimately not starting until around 1pm. This wait was pretty stressful but once the team showed up, they were efficient, friendly and seemingly thorough in wrapping things and dismantling a bed. The truck was packed quickly, no more than an hour for a one bedroom. Unloading was done in about the same amount of time. In terms of damage, one of my items was significantly cracked and in a manner that would he unrepairable. They offered me something like $20 but ultimately gave me a $50 discount (20% of what it would cost to replace it). The crew was decent, communication during booking was great but during the move day with the delays- not the best. Minus one star for lateness and another for the damage that resulted in just 20% reimbursement. read more
