I used this company because their price was okay and they could work in my timeslot, I actually found them on recommendation from another moving company that couldn't fit the time and date I needed. I spoke on the phone with the manager/owner and explained the details, I agreed to an arrival window that was right at my limit, so I was a bit nervous. The day of the move he called and said he could get a team to me early if I was ready, which was great. The agreement is an hourly situation, so I was a bit wary that they would be slow/lazy. Quite the opposite, these guys were flying! They did a quick survey of the items and started moving, even packed up a fragile item for me (thanks!). After they left my old place en route to my new, I saw a huge NYC score- free furniture I could use! Called them and they looped back to grab that item as well. Met them at the new place, unloaded very quickly and they were on their way. Nice people and tolerated my chattiness- we had quite an interesting conversation about international politics. I gave a tip because they did great, I believe for NYC movers in general, most of the money goes to the company, so show some love if people go good work! Oh yeah and I had a lot of plants that all arrived safely. Note that they do not take responsibility for plant health resulting from being in a hot truck, so it's your decision whether you think your plants can handle the heat of a truck ride. I NEVER write Yelp reviews but after a really positive experience with these guys and selecting them partly on the basis of reading other reviews, I wanted to share my experience. I selected Maxi Moving after reading the numerous glowing reviews about their service. I booked my move from New York City to Connecticut a week in advance. It was an end-of-month move so I was anticipating issues or potential up-charges but Matt was very polite and helpful in scheduling the move. I received a very fair and reasonable quote for the move which was an hourly rate for the crew and a transportation charge, along with a text confirmation a few days later. They had to do an early-afternoon pickup and my building's elevator "closes" at 4pm so anticipating that issue, they sent a few extra people at their expense to help with the loading. We went a little over the closing time but no issues with the building. It was a very efficient pickup that was also handled with care, especially on my delicate / expensive items. The drop-off was equally as efficient and careful and I was very happy with the crew's professionalism. The crew was led by Max and he directed the group really well. Once all done, I checked my things and not one item was damaged and they had placed all items exactly where we needed them. No surprises at all with the final bill / payment. I wound up tipping the crew an extra hundred because I was so pleased with their work! Although I hope not to have to move again for a while, I strongly recommend others to use their service! I used Maxi Moving June 9th 2013. I moved from 2 locations to one. I have to tell you that these guys are professional. I spoke to Alex to set up the appointment. He was very easy to speak to and listened to what I had to say. he recommended I use 3 guys with a truck. The 3 guys that showed up were Roman Andrei and Mike, they knew exactly what they were doing. they wrapped everything and had no trouble lifting any of my heavy furniture and carrying it up and down stairs. I knew my furniture was in good hands. I'm pretty sure these guys could have lifted the truck. I've moved before this and had some guys from another company try and lift some things and I helped them cause I thought they would get hurt. But the guys from Maxi made me feel confident my things were safe. They were respectful and didn't waste anytime. even when they drove from my first stop to the second they showed up with me they could have easily wasted some time in traffic and tried to run up the charge but they were right there on point. These guys are hard working professionals I don't usually write reviews. I'm writing this because I work hard for my money and I know you do too and with all the scammers out there if I could save one person from a scammer and lead them in the right direction I feel like I'm doing my part in paying it forward. Wowzers!!! These dudes are effin awesome. I move a lot and have moved with excellent, decent, and downright horrible movers. From the initial contact to the end of the job they are nothing short of excellent. I was looking for local Brooklyn movers since I was only moving a few blocks away and didn't feel like paying gas, fuel, tolls other companies were quoting me, so I decided to find a good moving company that is based out of Brooklyn. I filled out their online estimate thing and a few minutes later got a quote from Alex. It was by far the cheapest out of the 4 companies I compared them to. Too good to be true I thought, but after reading all of the positive reviews I decided to give them a try. On the day of the move the guys showed up 15 minutes earlier, looked for parking, and at 9AM (my scheduled time) got down to business. The lead guy Andre communicated with me throughout the whole move to make sure that everything is how I want it. He asked me where I and how I want all of my furniture positioned, showed me that my wall unit was improperly assembled by the previous movers and actually reassembled the whole unit a bit differently which felt much sturdier afterwards. The guys actually took time to read the labeling on my boxes as to make sure that each box goes into its designated space. I hadn't moved in more than 40 years and was nervous about the whole process. I actually used Yelp to help me choose MaxiMoving, and I'm so grateful at how well it turned out that I feel I should share a review myself. First off, due to the 100-year flood that we had in New York, my move had to be pushed later in the day -- not MaxiMoving's fault, but it added to my apprehension, especially as my new building required the move to be finished by 10pm, I had a lot of stuff, and the estimate was that it would take 4 hours. Then Roman and his team arrived, and they more than made up for the delay in the start time. Not only did they move me into the new place an hour faster than the estimate, they did that while still carefully wrapping each piece of furniture (and disassembling the one upholstered chair that wouldn't fit through the front door, reassembling it at the other end -- who knew that was even possible?) and deftly managing all the boxes on the two flights of stairs at my old place and the teeny-tiny passenger elevator that needed to be shared with tenants at the other end. Nothing was broken or lost, there was never any tension, everyone absolutely knew what they were doing and functioned as absolute professionals. Tim was who was in charge in helping us move with his team! Now, let's start by timing! Tim and his team came on time and did not waste a minute. Once they got to the first location , they started working and cleared out my fiancée's room within 30mn. I also want to add that they did that using their strengths and carrying every furniture down three flight of stairs. Let me also add that it also included putting plastic around his queen size bed and any other furnitures that needed it. From my fiancée's location we then went to a second location, when we arrived they worked quickly. They moved the furniture from storage quick but did not brake any of the glass. We then headed to our new home and they took everything out of the truck, they assembled the bed for us and placed everything where we asked them to. We are not done yet! We then went to a third location (the locations were 10-15mn apart)! They loaded the truck again within 15mn. Carried everything down two flight of stairs this time! We then went back to our new home, unloaded the truck very quickly. Everything went well, they took great care of our furnitures and moved quickly. I would recommend Tim's team to do any move! First time using this company and we were very happy with the results. Everything took about 4hrs which would have taken us probably 2 weeks! It was all worth it! read more

I'm not normally a review type person but maxi movers is so great, I wanted to get the word out. I was very stressed by my impending move which included a 5000 strong record collection that had taken me and another person a full day to move into my apartment. I used unpakt to get quotes and maxi came in as the cheapest by far. Iso much so that i was skeptical about the service but when I called I realized they were charging a flat rate by the hour versus basing the quote on an inventory of my stuff. After speaking with the manager and having him run through all the potential costs up front $85 per hour, two hour minimum + half hour travel time, I decided to book them and hope for the best. The day of my move was horribly hot and humid but George and his team showed up cheerful and ready to work! They moved me out of my one bedroom and into my new apartment (from boerum hill to park slope) as well as disassembling and reassembling two record shelves in three hours flat. It was amazing. They were hard workers, always had a smile and were really careful with my stuff. Even with a 35 percent tip the move still cost hundreds less than the quote from the next cheapest guys. They earned every penny and I'm so grateful to George and his team for making a stressful, unpleasant thing like moving so much easier. read more

After researching and considering several moving companies, I ended up choosing Maxi Moving because they were the only ones who offered evening hours. Everything was smooth and easy! Although they didn't have the online form where you can get a quote, I simply called and the person gave me a price over the phone. I ended up having a few more boxes than expected, but it wasn't a problem at all. The three movers were all wonderful and polite. They texted before they arrived, arrived early, and handled everything efficiently. They also took the extra minute to find a legal parking space, and without delay, moved things out of the truck and into my new apartment. They asked me where I wanted each piece of furniture. Everything was wrapped in blankets and arrived safely. I paid a small deposit over the phone, and paid the rest at the end. There is one member of the team who handles all the paperwork, and he is very polite. The other two were also very pleasant. Overall, it was a flawless experience. I will add that although their price was a tad higher than the other companies, they were the only company that accommodated a specific arrival time, rather than giving me a 3-hour window. I used Maxi for 2 moves now and am convinced that I will not use any one else ever again. My first move with them was from Boston to NYC when I graduated from MIT, and they seemed to be reasonably priced and I kinda felt at ease when communicating with Ivan. He guided me through the process, explained what to expect, and my move was exactly that and more. 2 guys showed up on the day of the move and got right down to work. I didn't have much stuff, but they made sure to wrap everything nicely and use plastic covering for my mattress which was all included. I did get charged for 2 boxes where they had to put a few small misc. items such as small pillows, trash bags, etc., that would otherwise be more consuming to carry by hand. A couple of hours later, the truck arrived to my address in NYC, in and up 3 flights, like it was nothing for them. Small job, reasonable price, nothing broken, stolen or damaged. The 2nd move involved moving my parents in law from Bridgeport to Westport, CT, and again these guys aced it. This was a much bigger move that involved moving a 4 bedroom house along with a grand piano, and it went without a hitch. I have another move booked with them this Sunday and am already excited to move with the people I can trust. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Maxi Moving were really really good. I was super stressed, moving house after 8 years in one place. The foreman, Roman, was extremely calm and helpful, and his crew were professional, efficient and careful yet fast. They moved my stuff, disassembled and reassembled sofas, bed, tables, so smoothly that I barely noticed. I even had time to transfer my cats to the new place and sit quietly with them while the guys took a well earned quick lunch break - it made the day much less stressful. Then they also asked carefully where to put each item, making unpacking SO MUCH EASIER for me. So far, I have found everything as it should be and nothing even slightly damaged or broken. Roman was very good at explaining things and keeping me calm, very adaptable and accommodating to my requests. The company was also responsive and accommodating in the prep phase - I sent photos a first because I didn't initially have time to do a full inventory, they were fine with that, Paola was very helpful as was Ivan. I even had to change my move date and they accommodated me. Also guess what, they were quite a lot less costly than some others and they also charged me LESS THAN THE QUOTE on the day. While considering different companies for my recent move, I ultimately relied on the reviews in Yelp, Google and the Better Business Bureau to help make my decision, deciding to use Maxi Moving for my move on February 21, 2023. I'm writing this review to let you know that those reviews are accurate and I had a very positive experience using Maxi Moving for my move. Maxi Moving's crew were friendly and extremely professional. Roman, who was in charge of the moving crew, came in and took inventory and labeled the boxes and furniture going to the new apartment and to the storage location. I was very anxious about the move but once I saw how well they wrapped and protected all of the furniture, I felt relieved that I had chosen the right company. All items arrived undamaged to the new apartment and Roman was extremely helpful in helping us organize the furniture put in storage ensuring it would all fit. The initial quote was very close to the final cost. The only additional charge was due to the necessity of dismantling a sofa in order to fit it in the elevator; which ended up being time intensive task. These guys are super professionals!!! Absolutely smooth and no-stress moving!!!! A friendly team of Serghei (foreman), Ivan and Georgii moved 2bdrm apartment for me. They were very careful with furniture, worked very fast without breaks, they had all necessary equipment to wrap the furniture up, to disassemble some parts. My order was a last minute call as I wasn't happy with the service I've booked from another moving agency. Thus, Maxi Moving managed to arrive on time and move all the stuff at the very short notice. We used Maxi Moving on a very difficult (for us) move. I have a large research library. I had to get it off the shelves and packed up (ended up being over 40 large boxes) without damaging the books. Many were art books, books of all shapes and sizes, and so forth Well, turns our Maxi staff received in-depth classes on just this situation. They came in and very quickly but carefully and diligently packed up all the books into boxes. Came back next day to take them up to my newly rented storage facility. Well, they told me that it takes a second to do all the paperwork. Not only was I delayed in a huge traffic jam on the highway, but it took almost a half hour to set us up with all the procedures. Maxi guys were real troopers sitting around as we held them up, They unloaded everything so that when we got the go-ahead they were ready. Unpacked and brought everything up and sort it out in the storage bin without a shrug They were intelligent, good, and hardworking people and went above and beyond what anyone might have expected from even the best of movers I highly recommend Maxi Moving and WILL use them again read more

I moved with this company last Wednesday. I did not realize until they left of course that both of my bikes are just missing. I am extremely surprised and upset as the movers were kind and seemed very helpful. I felt like I was missing something and asked them to check the truck, twice. There was absolutely nothing left in the apartment... So where'd the bikes go???? 33 cents interest per article I am screwed. Expensive bikes too. I am beyond disappointed. When I called expecting to leave message as it was a holiday today, a man answered who kept assuring me I had the wrong company. Once we got past that, he laughed when I told him I moved a few days ago and did not notice until now. Then told me "well forget about it I don't know what you want me to do." I get that were in Brooklyn here but come on. At least take my message that's why I called. The end of the call was just awkward because he obviously was not interested in helping me and I got off the line, plan to call back Monday.
