Kamani was punctual, personable, and skillful. I'm glad I found an excellent handyman, and very happy with his work. I will call him again if I need help with other things in the future. read more

My new velvet sofa looks amazing and feels much sturdier than anything I could've put together myself. I was worried about the fabric getting marked during the process, but the professional was very careful with all the pieces. They were running about fifteen minutes behind schedule, but they texted ahead so I wasn't just waiting around. It was a completely stress-free experience from start to finish. read more

Kamani did a great, efficient job in fixing various things in my apartment, including a sliding kitchen garbage can, kitchen cabinet drawers and a broken doorknob (including going out to find the right pieces). Would definitely use again! read more

I have used Kamani on two separate occasions and both were positive experiences. The work he performed was switching out light fixtures & ceiling fan, hanging a huge two piece medicine cabinet & hanging a curtain rod. He's very responsive, shows up on time and does good work. Update: the medicine cabinet that he installed fell off the wall on top of me and almost knocked me cold! The flimsy anchor he used came right out of the hole. In addition, the light he just installed in my closet no longer works. When I notified him about the medicine cabinet feeling like it shifted when I opened the door on Friday morning, he said he couldn't come until Monday. I even sent him pics of where it was pulling away from wall and he didn't feel any urgency to come and take it down even if he didn't have time to reinstall it. 4 hours later it fell off the wall while I was using the sink! I would be extremely wary of using his services after this episode! read more

Kamani did a wonderful job installing our A/C window units! He communicated clearly, responded promptly, and was able to work with our busy schedule while still getting here to install the units ASAP. Hired Kamani to install an AC in the lower part of a window. He was punctual and professional. I got one other quote and overall the price seemed to be in line with the market, if maybe a bit cheaper. He was very kind and professional responding to all my emails and questions about window/AC compatibility before I even scheduled a date with him. Would hire again for any handyman services in the future! read more

Kamani seems to still be working since I just got an updated marketing email from him on 8/2/20. He updated on the safety precautions he is taking for Covid. He hung up Ikea shelves for us and did a fantastic job. The was was made of brick and drywall. Kamani had the tools and skill for the job. He's great, nice and extremely professional. read more

Kamani is the best! I've hired him twice now. (Also referred him to my sister, who had a great experience too!) He's installed an AC unit for me and not one, not two, but FOUR different light fixtures. So worth it to just hire a professional and get the project DONE. Life is short! Make your apartment beautiful! Replace the boob lights! Hire Kamani, don't electrocute yourself!! read more

Kamani was amazing! Texted him late in the day just to gauge availability, little did I know he is available the next morning! Great concise service, careful, cleaned up afterwards. Flexible enough to add a little light adjustments for me after he got here. Responsive, fair prices, and good work. A gem in the city of flakey providers, and this is saying a lot coming from picky architect like myself, look at that clean tv mount read more

I have used NYC Handyman a handful of times (for jobs big and small) and it is always a five star experience.

I have a dresser that I really like, but the tracks on the drawers needed to be replaced. Kamni came on time and replaced the tracks. He's fast, courteous , and really knows what he's doing. He did a wonderful job and his price is more than reasonable. I will definitely use him again!! read more

I contacted Kamani to repair a microwave that had been incorrectly installed by a previous technician. While the initial installation was so poorly done that Kamani couldn't remove the stripped screws, he accurately identified the problem and provided me with the necessary documentation to replace the unit. Kamani was professional, punctual, and focused; he was a pleasure to work with. read more

Kamani did a great job hanging my 75" frame tv & hid all of the cords extremely well. Very clean & efficient job! He's my go to guy for good, reliable work read more

Yelp doesn't lie. I mean, sure, sometimes people exaggerate, but not in the case of Kamani. The larger the sample size, the harder it is to maintain a perfect rating. To retain five-star status, you've got to consistently provide excellent service--the best there is. It's just science. Kamani--so good that his one-man shop dons the sought-after name "NYC Handyman"--is the best you can find. Quick and efficient, well-equipped and delightfully personable, Kamani is great at what he does and despite only being in his early 30s, he's been doing it a long time. We just moved into a new apartment. Why did we move? A big reason: our old apartment was somewhat cavernous (not in a good way) and this new spot promised a return to sunlight--huge windows in both rooms. A plethora of natural light is great, except when you want to wake up at a time other than sunrise. So we needed our curtain rod and brackets installed ASAP. Our bedroom window is a bit tricky--it would seem two brackets would do the trick, but an 8+ feet long curtain rod adorned with four blackout curtains is probably not sustainable. Kamani figured out how to install the third bracket on the window frame to lighten the load and all looks beautiful now. We also needed our TV mounted. I've had my TV mounted at three different apartments before, and this was the fastest I've ever seen it done. An articulating wall mount--at least to a civilian like me--looks very complicated. Maybe it was, but Kamani figured it out in minutes. Hardware: you should certainly keep all of the fixins that come with the items you need installed. Screws, bolts, washers, whatever. But Kamani came super prepared, too, with his own big box of tools, parts, etc. In the case of my curtain, Kamani's materials were better/sturdier than what the vendor of my curtain rod had supplied, so I appreciate the thoroughness/generosity there. Lastly, the guy's just a great dude. Incredibly nice, smart, fun to talk to. I'd bet there are thousands of people in this city who claim/advertise that they can do this work. I can't speak to the quality of the others, but Kamani is a-one. You'll get what you pay for (and the prices are fair) and maybe you'll end up a little happier, too. read more

He was highly skilled and completed each job quickly without mess. His work was excellent in all cases. I could not have asked for a better job. For quality and speed, I felt I got a bargain because was much was accomplished in a short amount of time. He was also very pleasant to be around. read more

Kamani was excellent! Great communications, punctual, patient, informative and capable. I got the impression that he really cared. Kamani did work on a complicated chandelier, removing parts and reinstalling lamps. He had obviously read the instructions ahead of time and was totally prepared. He took the time to explain to me the different requirements of LED vs regular bulbs. I will be rehiring him in two weeks for more work. read more

Kamani is always incredibly reliable and very responsive. He was able to help us determine whether a newer AC system would work for our old building, and then he came and installed both in under 2 hours. As always, his work looks perfect and everything is working great! read more

Kamani was great! I had several items that had to be assembled, and he did all of them perfectly and quickly. There were two shelves that I wanted stacked one on top of the other, and not only did he secure them safely, but bolted them to the wall so they won't fall over. I would hire him again "in a New York minute". His rates are reasonable, and he is great at keeping in touch and communicating. You can't go wrong with Kamani! read more

I highly recommend Kamani! I reached out to him to childproof our apartment and he was so generous and honest: he tried to give me some tips free of charge in case I was able to solve the issue on my own. When our maintenance person was not able to get the job done, Kamani got the job done seamlessly. I really appreciated how honest, generous, and smart Kamani was! read more

As all the reviews state, Kamani is great. He was able to come over to my place on the day I requested and he did a really wonderful job mounting pictures, wall hooks, a mirror, etc. He's also great to talk to. I will be hiring him in the future. Thank you, Kamani. :-) read more

Very responsive and professional. Quickly hung a heavy mirror on the wall. Mirror looks great and I would definitely reach out again!

Kamani is the only handyman I will use. I have used over 4 handymen and for someone like me who is extremely type A about the height of a TV, painting, or mirror, or having something extremely straight, I need someone like Kamani. I used him several times to mount everything in my apartment, and his work is flawless. Everything is flushed properly to the wall, measured perfectly with un-arrived furniture, and best of all - mounted straight and at the perfect height. Sure, is he in a higher price point? Yes, but he also does flawless work. read more

Kamani was awesome!! We got exactly what we wanted. Kamani's work is top notch. Besides his excellent work, he also asked me for my vacuum so he could clean up the mess from drilling holes in wall! I gave him my handheld which he took in each room with him and cleaned up after. That's a huge plus for me! He was very quick to respond to the email my boyfriend sent. It was also easy to book two days later when we wanted. I'd definitely recommend him! He hung 3 large TVs, standing mirror, towel rack and a large print on canvas. Thanks Kamani! read more

Found Kamani on yelp by searching for handyman near me and he appeared the highest with the most 5-star reviews so even though there was a 1 week wait I rathered wait then have it done wrong. Now that the work is done I'm so happy I waited. Kamani installed 5 canvasses throughout my apartment quickly efficiently yet it came out really nicely. He also installed a film on the glass doors of my balcony for privacy from the nearby next door. I'm happy to say that everything he did was professional, efficient, and I will definitely be calling him back for the next round of installation work at my apartment! read more

Kamani did an amazing job with a challenging project. I needed to have an old bed disassembled and a new queen sized loft bed constructed from a kit and levelled (the floor in my room was really unlevel.) Kamani texted me and came 30 minutes early (when have you ever heard of that!) and spent a few hours building the bed and making it perfectly level in the room without any wobbling or anything. Furthermore, he was incredibly nice and kind and hardworking. He's the first person I will reach out to in the future for any handyman jobs. read more
