I met Jomar after contacting another painting company that was too busy and referred me to Jomar's team. I was a little hesitant at first and asked for some references which Jomar had no problems supplying. Everyone had only glowing things to say about him and since he offered to paint our place over the weekend (and thereby letting us move in that much faster!) we went with his company. All the reviews are spot on! Jomar gets 5 stars for 5 reasons: 1. GREAT at communication. He was very responsive to me (replying within minutes most of the time) and he e-mailed/texted status updates, even if it was just to say that he would be 10 minutes late. This also shows how incredibly on time he generally is. If he says he'll be there, he'll be there. 2. Flexible and willing to go the extra mile. We needed some furniture moved to our basement and he and his team were gracious about doing it for us. He was really nice about meeting up with me on my schedule for random things (picking up a copy of the keys, picking up the payment, etc.) 3. Beautiful work. He obviously pays attention to detail and takes pride in his work. The paint job was perfect. Completely uniform and no stray paint anywhere. 4. Fast! He was able to get 2 other guys to help him on a Saturday and they were done painting the walls by 4pm. Incredible. 5. Honest. Jomar gave me a quote for the labor and then e-mailed me copies of all the receipts for the materials. I didn't even have to put down a deposit and didn't pay Jomar until the week after he was done because he wanted to make sure we had time to look at the job and be happy with it before paying him. He really stands by his work! Highly recommend! Reliable, thorough, very fairly priced (the best we found yet): you cannot find a better handy man business in, I firmly believe, the entire NYC area. We have been on the hunt for a go-to person for years now.. no one in our entire condo association has found anyone. I was very excited to finally let everyone know that their search can stop and that they should just call Jomar. He refinished our bathroom with such attention-to-detail and professionalism that I have not seen in ages. He was also a cat and toddler magnet; the toddler portion being the most impressive since she literally won't go within 10 feet of anyone else but her parents these days. Anyone other than Jomar that is. Wondering if he offers babysitting in his handyman repertoire... So, he's good at his job, babies and animals love him, and oh yeah - he also goes above and beyond. For example, my husband had to go away for work somewhat unexpectedly. So Jomar rearranged his schedule to ensure that he would work in such a way that his work for us would line up with our trash day and he would bring the bulk items all down to the curb for me. That way, I wasn't stuck with an old sink and old cabinets in my already tiny living space for days until my husband returned and we had a trash day. I didn't even ask him to do this and it had to be after normal work day hours so that we would comply with NYC trash removal rules. He just made this connection on his own that that was going to happen and insisted on working it out for me. And another thing - remember I said fairly-priced? Well, he had given me a guesstimate with the understanding that it depended on a few factors. So I was prepared to spend more than he thought, just in case. The job did end up taking longer than we initially anticipated. Even still, he insisted that we only pay him for one extra hour - rather than the 5 or 6 extra hours it actually, cumulatively, took. (Stupid spackle and hidden junked up wall.) We feared him selling himself short so we gave a good tip - but GEEEZ!!!! And, finally, the attention to detail really impressed me. I'll admit I am a pain in the butt nitpicker. Constructions guys, plumbers, electricians, my husband... sometimes they straight up hate me. I notice everything. I insist on things being redone if not done properly the first time. This was the first time EVER that the person I hired covered all his bases... and even saw things that I had missed! My husband thanked him for adding years of happiness back onto our marriage. ;) Really, he's the best. He really cares about doing a good job, all around. I was looking all over for a painter that would tackle a small job. Jeff the gentleman that came to paint a bedroom in queens was more then professional he arrived early which is always good start. Jeff got straight to work upon entering the apartment he offered his advice on colors and and asked for my input as well. Jeff removed all the residue and patched my walls especially one large crack that he patched so well I can't remember exact where it was on the wall. The price was reasonable given the extent of the job. The project was projected to take 2 days and Jeff stayed later then he actually wanted to in order to complete the job in one day. Working through his break. The thing I especially like about there service was they left the materials that they purchased to complete the job. (a lot of other companies charge you for materials and then keep them to use for other jobs) something that is a pet peeve of mine. He answered all of my (many) questions, even prior to my officially booking him for the job, and was very helpful and responsive. He came prepared with the right tools and heavy duty bolts that I didn't even think of asking! The anchors and plastic bolts that came with my expensive rail desk apparently weren't up to task. It would have likely fell down within a few days with my laptops and heavy books on top. Thankfully he was able to switch them out with the more heavy duty ones he brought. This is incredibly overdue ... I've been furnishing my home for the last few months and Jomar has been helping me with many projects, and only now I've had the chance to write this. Jomar is nothing short of amazing. He's incredibly professional, meticulous, patient, courteous, honest, fair and simply a great guy to deal with. A few years ago I had an electrician install a Moroccan chandelier in our bedroom. We then ended up redecorating and moving the bedroom to a different room. After hearing great things about Jomar and his company, I hired him to come move the chandelier to the new location. He was very efficient, clean and friendly. He was able to swap both light fixtures with no issues and he even fixed the aesthetics of the chandelier where the original electrician left an eyesore of the entire chain hanging. Jomar politely asked if I was happy with the length and if he would like me to clean up the chain by removing the excess links. Now the light fixture looks awesome in the new room. He uninstalled and reinstalled a bunch of guitars I had hanging on the wall, a TV, and fixed an issue I had been having with a bad install on a mounted coat rack.
