Mr. Painter did a great job with painting and skim coating some parts of my old NYC apartment. What I really liked about the job: 1. Prompt communication and detailed explanation as to why work was being done a certain way 2. The job for basically my entire (750ish sqft) apartment was done in around 5 business days, which was great 4. They did a great job covering up all of the floors, cabinets, and appliances thoroughly What I didn't like about the job (some are just general painting things + general NYC things): 1. There was dust everywhere, even in places where I was not expecting it to be. It was especially confusing for those places which appeared to be properly covered by the crew 2. We were moving into a new apartment and wanted the walls painted before we moved in, because the previous tenant had painted all the walls a weird pink/brown color. I called to get an estimate from this man and it was the most horrible and rude experience I've ever had. He has poor customer service and thinks he's too good to wait 2 mins or give a price quote. He is unprofessional and I would highly recommend never dealing with this human . Upon making the appointment he gave me an hour time frame between 12-1. He showed up about 10 mins early. My mother was with another contractor as we're doing many projects around the house. She approaches Mr.Paint and gave him a list just so he gets an idea of what needs to be done so she can finish the previous appointment. Mr paint decides to call me (the daughter) to let me know that my mother was with someone else and that he doesn't do business like this. He felt he was too good to be considered for the job he thought I would just hire him upon arrival? I told him that we're getting other work done and that we have to meet with many different contractors to decide who would be the best fit for our job. He said I didn't realize you were shopping for the best price . I explained to him it's not only about the best price we're looking to also meet the person to see if they're professional and competent. There are people who love what they do and do a great job and there are people who just do it to make money. He proceeded to tell me he's too good and too experienced to compete with other painters and that he's too good for an interview and that he doesn't like to wait for anyone. Mind you it was 10 mins before the appointment. He could have waited gave me an estimate and be professional but instead he chose to let his emotions and ego get the best of him and he got extremely loud and aggressive super rude and hung up the phone on me. Probably because I wouldn't let him speak to me that way and get a word in edgewise.That's why I made this review it was completely unnecessary , uncalled ,unprofessional and unrealistic. Bottom line That is terrible customer service. Worry about yourself your work and your integrity . Some were dismissive and hard to reach, while others were promising but then vanished into thin air, after having sent them follow-up questions. UPDATE: I'm in the middle of having my floors re-done and when we removed the radiators there was a ton of water damage on the wall (see pic below). Called up Shlomi and he had a guy from his crew over to my place in less than 24 hours. He put on a coat of plaster then sanded everything down so it was even. Then applied KILZ stain remover primer, then painted over it and painted the trim too! You can't even tell what was there before!! Great price, fast, professional and a pleasure to work with. We initially hired Shlomi Ohana to only paint our house before listing it for sale. Shlomi and his team were amazing. They expertly fixed damage to the walls and ceilings before meticulously painting the inside of the house. He was clean and covered all the furniture and railings prior to painting and cleaned up afterwards. We noticed that Shlomi's website mentioned that he also did handyman work. Since we needed more work done, and Shlomi did such an amazing job with painting, instead of trying to find another handyman, we let Shlomi bid on each of the tasks, and even let him advise us on what other tasks he thought were needed, or weren't worth doing. His advice was as good as the quality of his work. As a handyman, he power-washed the front and back brick/concrete exteriors, replaced a broken door handle, replaced broken electrical covers, repainted our back fence, removed the rust from our exterior metal staircase and repainted it, fixed cracked concrete, and did some general lawn maintenance. He is honest and punctual. He is licensed and obtains appropriate insurance for the job. He itemized the cost for each component and created a signed contract before undertaking the job. He kept us apprised of his progress every step of the way - with photos and FaceTime chat when there is a question. He was timely and completed the job on schedule. Glad I found Mr. Painter on Yelp. Only needed a few rooms painted - kitchen, dining area and small hallway. He gave me a reasonable estimate (after just a little haggling, lol) and adhered to the date I requested. Shlomi and his assistant Eddie completed the job in less than two days. They scraped down the walls and ceilings, covered floors and counters, and moved appliances as needed. I did find a scattering of fine dust-like particles blown into living room area but they were easily vacuumed up. The end result was beautiful. As per current guidelines, they did come with face masks etc. but I left my apartment so they could work without interference. Both painters were very professional and friendly.
