They completely gutted and renovated my kitchen, sanded and polished floors, painted all my walls, replaced the vanity in my bathroom and changed out all the light fixtures in my apartment. All of this was done within budget and on time (within the 4 weeks he proposed initially!!!). Everything looks incredible and new! Fred is an incredibly patient and kind person who has great pride in his work and will work very hard to make sure you are happy with the end result. I was pregnant during the renovation and he took extra care to make sure I didn't have to do any lifting or moving of furniture or boxes. Fred Gjecaj and his company are without peer. They renovated my bathroom in mid-March 2020. Since I was keeping all my original fixtures (bathtub, sink, toilet) my main concern was they wouldn't be scratched or harmed in any way. Fred had to remove the old wall tiles, sheetrock and marble flooring before laying new glass tiles and ceramic flooring. My fixtures were unscratched. Their work was perfect. Then after this perfect job was finished, we had a leak coming from the shower body behind the newly tiled wall. Fred came back and worked with the plumber to remove four glass tiles in the wall so the problem could be fixed. Then he replaced the tiles so miraculously, one cannot tell which tiles were replaced. Aside from his superior craftsmanship, Fred is responsive and communicative. He and his crew were neat, punctual and completed the job on time, without added expense. Fred and his team just did an amazing gut renovation on our kitchen. They turned a dark and dated galley kitchen into the brightest and most luxurious room in our apartment. Fred made helpful suggestions along the way and estimated correctly how much time the project would take from start to finish. The crew is very professional and kept materials clean during the whole process as they knew we have small children and limited space. They meticulously sealed all holes in the walls with plaster as we had been having a vermin problem for months. This review is for customer service. I'm renovating a co-op in Queens. I had an appt. with Arta Restoration for Dec. 19 at 1p. Fred arrived promptly and stated he'd work with my management company before. The two stars were for prompt phone response and arriving to our appt. time. The reason behind my low ratings were for the following reasons: 1- never reached out to deliver a quote, 2- brushed my ideas and request aside. For example, the main reason I wanted a contractor was to completely re-do my bathroom and replicate a bathroom which photo I'd presented. He brushed it off. When I mentioned flooring he said you could reach to flooring installation. He just seemed uninterested in the apartment all together. read more

Fred and his team renovated 2 of our bathrooms, redid the fireplace, and worked on some other misc projects. Overall, my husband and I are very please with the outcome. It took longer than expected but I think it's common when it comes to renovation so we were mentally prepared. Plus, we did add many misc things along the way and Fred was super patient and helpful throughout the entire process. I would definitely recommend Fred's team. We had just purchased a new home. We have 3 kids and we wanted to move in before the school year started. My Fiancé and I had just closed on a Condo on January 19th, 2016. The whole apartment needed renovations, except the bathroom. I used yelp to locate local contractors with good reviews. We made a list of everything that we wanted done in our apartment and sent the list to a few contractors including Arta and Fred responded to me right away. We scheduled the appoinment for the next day and he was able to accommodate my schedule. We went over our list of items and Fred gave us suggestions that would benefit our apartment and help us save on our budget. The meeting went very well and I felt comfortable with how he responded to A LOT of my questions. Within the next day or so he gave us a quote with EXACTLY everything we asked for so that there was not any miscommunication moving forward. My fiancé and I were very pleased with the detail oriented quote and timeliness. After reviewing all of our options, we felt like Arta's proposal was very fair considering quality of work we saw in other reviewers pictures. Fred gave us a 10-12 day window to complete the project and he and his team met that deadline. Throughout the process, there was constant communication between Fred and I. He answered any and every question I had. His team was very polite, professional and clean. Fred always went out of his way to keep us up to date and let us know if there were any setbacks. I even asked him to run a water hose across the kitchen (not part of the contract) and he did it for me no questions asked. Hired Fred to renovate my apartment. I interviewed a number of other contractors. Price wise he was about middle of the road compared to the other quotes, but I ultimately hired him based on his answers and recommendations to my questions, which was more thorough than other contractors. Also had no hesitation in meeting me again for a second interview, was also punctual to meetings, which both are rare for contractors. 1 or 2 never responded after seeing my job wasn't that big Scope of work - kitchen, floors, walls. He was able to give useful recommendations but ultimately takes your choices. Freddy and his team at Arta Restoration was referred to me by a high end kitchen cabinet business owner. I could not have been any more happy with the quality of work that I received from Freddy. Let me start by saying I just purchased my apartment and the whole second floor's hardwood flooring was painted jet black high gloss. Needless to say that had to go, the kitchen counter tops was formica another big no-no for me. Freddy was able to sand down the entire 2nd floor hardwood and restore it back to its natural wood color THANK YOU and help to put on my backsplash and under counter LED lights. I am happy to post this rave review for Fred and his company, Arta Restorations. Fred recently handled the gut renovation of my small bathroom renovation in Kew Gardens. He responded promptly when I contacted him, came by to take a look at the bathroom and gave me a written estimate. I had to put the project on hold for a few months and then decided to modify my original plan, deciding to remove my bathtub and just have a shower. Fred came back for a second time and gave me a new written estimate based on my new plan. I awarded him the job and he very promptly provided me with the license and insurance info required by my coop. He did a great job, on time and on budget even though he had to deal with all my coop's rules and some problems caused by the coop's plumber (who had no relation to Fred but who the coop wanted to do some work on the plumbing while the walls were down). Fred was very reliable, always good-natured, professional, flexible and communicative (responding quickly to texts). Several large items were only available for curbside delivery and Fred arranged to have one of his workers there to bring the items up even when they weren't scheduled to work that day. He kept the work site clean and did quality work. He came back the day after work was done and after he had already been paid in full when I changed my mind about how a few things were hung (adding a corner shelf I had first said I wasn't going to use, changing orientation of toilet paper holder, etc.) He thoroughly inspected my apt to make sure he and his men hadn't done any damage when bringing equipment in and out (but sadly the two things he asked me about were long standing damage from long before the renovation started). He even fixed my kitchen faucet for me. Something had come loose some time ago between the faucet and the countertop and Fred noticed it when he was using the sink and asked me if I minded if he fixed it. He is a contractor of integrity, which from past experience seems to be a rarity in the field and I would definitely use him again and wholeheartedly recommend him for your contracting needs. read more
