Five stars is not enough for the work Procraft Design and Construction did on our home. I cannot sing enough praises for the overall experience I had with Glen and his crew. We hired them to open up the first floor of our Cape Cod, and they completely helped me re-imagine the space taking down several walls to create a true open-concept layout. Along the way they installed new hardwood floors across the entire first floor, redid our shower, replaced both toilets, moved our washer and dryer, and prepped all the groundwork for our kitchen renovation. The craftsmanship throughout was outstanding. The part that really earned our trust is they delivered on what they promised AND THEN SOME! They finished within the estimate they quoted, and they were remarkably fast and efficient without ever cutting corners. Glen and his crew went above and beyond at every turn. His entire team was helpful, friendly, and easy to work with from the first day to the last. It's not often that I leave reviews but, in this case, I honestly think it's warranted. For context, this review is for a house assessment that I needed to verify the structural condition and budgets for various renovations. After researching and reaching out to various firms and individuals, I focused on a handful of individuals. Glenn stood out from the very beginning due to his very open and straightforward nature. We talked about my scenario & circumstances, and he genuinely seemed receptive and gave good feedback. On top of everything, he was flexible and was willing to meet almost immediately. When we met in person, I immediately felt comfortable with him--he was genuine and took his time. I appreciate it when someone is open and tells you what's going through their heads. From outside to inside, he pointed out concerns or just interesting pieces of information on the condition, the systems, etc. He would ask me what my idea was and then didn't try to upsell me. Procraft Design & Construction renovated my 5x8 bathroom and brought my vision to life with quality craftsmanship anyone could be proud of. The preliminary permits and paperwork were a living nightmare but Peter of Procraft stayed patient, cool and calm with all the documentation required and other demands by my coop. Working together, we eventually made it through. I live in a coop building built in 1938 and bathrooms were built rather tiny back then. So I naturally wanted to counteract this and create the illusion of space. I came up with a design that was enhanced with helpful tips by business owner Glenn. Not only did he display vast knowledge of construction, but did it with a caring and compassion nature right from that start and sustained it through out the duration of the job. I could write at substantial length about my entire experience with Procraft. In sum, they were nothing short of first rate professionals who care about doing the work you need the right way. My project came first with constraints of the New York City DOB. More than a few contractors expressed, not only doubt that the work I wanted could be done the way I wanted it, but also had reservations dealing with the DOB. My project also came with a need to use uncommon materials with a remarkable amount of customization. Glenn saw the project as an opportunity to do something unique, with very unique material, without hesitation took on the burden of that project, and did not blink at the prospect of dealing with the DOB. To say that virtually every aspect of our project required the kind of customation not ordinarily seen, but also using supplies not commonly used, would be a gross understatement. I needed a fully non-combustible deck, all steel and composite, fully custom railing, and a newly enclosed area of our home. Glenn was remarkably detailed, patient with me, and communicated with me at every step of the way. He is a gentleman and an honest contractor with remarkable vision and skill. His team, who included Glen, Ray, and a few others, showed a remarkable amount of skill and vision throughout the entire process. I handed them a project the likes of which more than a few contractors didn't want to touch, and it came out better than envisioned; and I champion myself as one with high standards. No one at Procraft cut a corner, compromised on quality of supplies, and were very honest at every step of the way. The workers were great, and they went to great lengths to keep the work area - and the non-work areas - clean. Glenn is a font of information about everything construction and repair related. After spending a few weeks looking for the ideal contractor, I finally found Glenn, the owner of Procraft Design and Construction. They have many great reviews on Yelp and Google which, I found out, are all well deserved. Glenn is very friendly, honest and professional and was such a pleasure to deal with. He's really a great communicator and actually listened and paid attention to what I wanted. It can be tough to find a contractor who is fully licensed and insured especially as I live in a co-op, which has so many different rules and regulations compared to a private home, but Glenn rose to the occasion and was able to get everything I wanted done. He was prompt in providing a fair quote for the work that I needed done and his office manager, Peter, provided all the necessary paperwork so that I could submit everything to the board for approval. Peter was very thorough with the required documentation needed and he and Glenn make a great team. The Procraft crew was able to start the job the date that I had requested and I loved the work that was done. Although the job took 5 weeks to complete, the wait was more than worth it. After searching for several months for a contractor to update our small coop bathroom and having many not show up or return calls. We contacted Glenn, after seeing Procraft's reviews, about doing our small job. We scheduled a time to meet to discuss the project. Glenn arrived on time and listened to what we wanted, he gave us an estimate before he left and agreed to take our job. Peter, in the office, provided the license and insurance documentation that our coop required. On day 1, Glenn and his crew came, protected our carpet and floors and got to work immediately. George and Shem were courteous and professional and kept the work area clean at all times. When minor complications arose, they reassured us that they would make it work out to our satisfaction. We contacted Glenn from procraft when we were looking for a reliable source to repair our detached garage. To say it needed a lot of work might be an understatement! From first contact right through the completion of the job we could not have been more satisfied. Glenn came over and assessed the job. We explained that we wanted to do only what was necessarty to make the structure stable, sound, and the exterior appealing to the eye. Glenn gave us a proposal that met these parameters. He didn't try to bulk up the job, and the price quoted was fair. Glenn's crew were all very good at what they do and were also very helpful and pleasant to work with throughout the project, which included removing unwanted items from the garage, demolition of degraded portions of the garage, structural wall & roof repair, new vinyl siding and trim, a new roof, and bringing electric into the structure. This was a horrible bathroom renovation experience from the outset. The entire project was supposed to take 2-3 weeks maximum, yet it required 6 weeks to be completed (and still is not done as Glenn abandoned the work). The tilework for my bathroom was done very poorly. The space between tiles is uneven, creating areas where no grout can be applied between some tiles. Grout was piled on top of tiles and not within the joints as required. There are multiple areas where grout is missing, and even when I pointed this out to the Procraft team, my feedback was ignored. The grout itself looks to be mixed improperly as it is crumbly and chunky throughout the bathroom. The tiles themselves look like they were cut with a dull knife as they have jagged edges along the borders of all the tiles. We also had metal tile edging installed, which was done completely incorrectly. There are spots where edge pieces don't meet evenly and overlap, which looks terrible. There's also grout piled onto the edging in spots, which is further evidence of how poorly the job was done. Further, the Glenn's team attempted to "clean" the edging by rubbing with a scouring pad, causing irreparable swirls and scuff marks. There is even a section of edging that has a deep scratch. The paint job is even worse. They clearly did not bring enough paint as they tried to paint an entire bathroom with a sample can of paint. There are dirty hand marks on my wall from the contractor's team. There's a yellowish band of paint around the border between the wall and tile as they clearly did not mix the paint correctly and/or put the required number of coats on the wall. They also glopped paint on top of my switch covers. Further, they failed to install an electrical outlet properly within the vanity. Inside the cabinet, the outlet is just hanging there and not properly secured in an electrical box. This is extremely dangerous as I have small children in the house!! They also stained my driveway by parking their construction truck in my driveway. It leaked oil over sections of my driveway, leaving dark stains. They "tried" to power wash the stains away, but they look worse than before. As they tried to remove the protective barrier from my wood floors in the hallway outside my bathroom, they indiscriminately ripped up the varnish on my floor. Further, instead of properly painting the molding inside the bathroom, they gooped on some caulking, apparently thinking caulk and paint are interchangeable. They also tried to install privacy film on the bathroom window, which came out with bubbles all over. They also left behind tiles that are clearly chipped, and never properly caulked the window sill in the bathroom, leading to potential water infiltration and damage. They also failed to properly mount the shower fixtures, leaving an escutcheon hanging off the wall. The shower area is unusable until I can have these issues addressed). Even though I communicated all of these issues multiple times to the team and Glenn, they were ignored. Eventually, the team stopped coming and Glenn ignored my phone calls. This, after multiple episodes of rudeness and insults from him. I can't have them in my house anymore anyway since they cause more damage and additional problems the longer they work here. Short Answer - Call, talk, review the scope of the project in person and HIRE ProCraft to do the job. Long Answer - I called back in Sept 2021. I needed to prepare my parents' home for sale; the flat roof that leaked at my parents' home had been repaired but the two rooms below had not. We spoke on the phone, at which time I was already pretty confident with him, met in person to review the scope of the project, cost and timeline. Glenn didn't waste a second, he walked around the rooms and calculated the cost and gave me a verbal estimate on the spot and later sent me a contract. The crew arrived on time, everyone was respectful of me, my parents' home and the situation around the house. This was a small project and at no time was it or I treated it like it was any less important than a larger more profitable one. Glenn is a man of his word. He went above and beyond being the contractor. He was a support system. Without asking for help he was always there to help and check up on me and the house prep. In Jan 2022, when the gas valve failed, the heat didn't stay on, multiple pipes burst he picked up the phone when I called and not only fixed the heating issue he also introduced me to the right person to tend to all the insurance details and watch out for my family's best interests. But no, we couldn't get the dishwasher out from the cabinets, because whoever had renovated the kitchen put the dishwasher in first, and put everything in so tight the dishwasher was wedged in. Cue trying to find someone who could help us. After a variety of contractors who didn't even pick up their phones, or came by but then never followed up with a quote, I called Procraft. Ok so let me give you a whole hearted honest review about Procraft Design and Construction. I have spent over 9 months with Glenn and his crew doing a whole house renovation. Lets start from the beginning Glenn the owner of the company is one of the most Honest and Caring people that i have every dealt with when it come to home improvements . He came in and we told him what we wanted (2 full kitchens 3 full bathrooms basement first and second floor) the house needed a ton of work 2 family home. After 2 hrs of walking through the home we came up with a game plan and then we threw into the mix that we would be living in the house during the renovations. Glenns response "Not a problem". They started work and his crew was nothing but professional and very respectful to everyone in my family including the dogs. Everything was cleaned at the end of the day like they weren't even there. I had a previous contractor in to install a boiler room door who I had to fire because of incompetence. After speaking with Glenn he urged me to get a better fitting door, found the door and went out of his way to pick it up in Brooklyn. He installed the door and put in a new glass shower door in the bath room all in a day and a half.
