Highly recommend paint lab! They were communicative, flexible, professional and did a fantastic job. We hired them to paint an accent wall in our nursery and fix some issues with the moulding that was put up (we had used silicone - apparently a no no - and there were some nails and seams that needed to be patched). Other painters told us it would be a huge issue and paint lab fixed the problem and painted the wall seamlessly. read more

Bair and his team repainted our entire UES apartment (3 bedrooms plus the living and dining rooms and 2 bathrooms) a few months ago and did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. We had an exceptional experience working with Bair and the Paint Lab team and would recommend them without hesitation, especially for anyone navigating a NYC co-op renovation. From the outset, Bair's communication was impeccable, proactive, clear, and highly professional. He handled all co-op requirements seamlessly, including COIs and supporting paperwork, which immediately inspired confidence and made the process feel calm and well managed. The proposal was thorough, transparent, and very fairly priced for the level of craftsmanship delivered. Bair also has a strong eye for design and was a thoughtful partner throughout the project, offering guidance while remaining flexible and responsive as our schedule shifted more than once. We chose deep, richly saturated colors throughout our apartment, a bold decision that can be unforgiving in a plaster unit where every surface detail shows. Paint Lab executed this beautifully. The color saturation is even, refined, and striking, with no shortcuts taken. Their plastering and sanding work was equally impressive, with walls that are smooth, clean, and impeccably prepared, elevating the final result significantly. In addition, they installed high-end wallpaper with exceptional precision, and the result looks absolutely fabulous. The alignment, finish, and overall execution reflect a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Just as important, the team treated our home with real care and respect at every stage. The site was well maintained, and the work was carried out with a level of professionalism you don't always find. Paint Lab is an outstanding firm that delivers both technical excellence and aesthetic sensitivity. We would absolutely work with Bair and his team again and recommend them wholeheartedly to other co-op owners looking for a high-quality, design-driven result. read more

Bair was great! From the start his communication was first class, he was flexible in fitting us in for an estimate, and same for doing the actual work. The day of painting he let us know he was there and when he was done (we were out of town). He finished work the next day on time just as he said. Everything looks great and there was nothing I had to clean up. They really did a professional job that I wish was the standard for anybody doing work. Also, he came in at the low end of estimates, so his prices are definitely reasonable. My only gripe is he said we are a little farther out than he would like to do again. Hopefully if we need more paint work, I can talk him back into coming to Forest Hills! read more

So happy with the work Bair and his team completed in our new apartment! He is super responsive and you can tell how much he cares about doing a good job. I was nervous because I was out of town for the first day of the project but Bair kept me updated and made sure everything was to my liking. Would definitely recommend Paintlab! read more

It was a genuine pleasure to work with PaintLab on the interior painting of my Manhattan condominium and I recommend them without hesitation. After consulting with several painters, PaintLab stood out for their responsiveness, professionalism and fairness of their quote. From the outset, the process was seamless; the owner was prompt, clear and thorough in providing all documentation required by my building, and he asked thoughtful questions to ensure the final result reflected my preferences. The painting team was punctual, hard-working and meticulous. They completed the work on time, even while accommodating shifting service dates and working in an apartment stacked with moving boxes! Their flexibility and calm, professional approach made what could have been a stressful experience feel effortless, which was much appreciated. As a bathroom leak had been resolved shortly before painting, they extended the scope of work on the spot to include the bathroom, all within the same timeline. The walls are now flawless and show no signs of ever having had an issue. They even took the extra step of picking up the bathroom paint themselves for this additional work. Beyond the excellent quality of craftsmanship, the experience was equally positive on a personal level. The owner was thoughtful, caring and genuinely invested in delivering a positive outcome--it is clear that they love what they do. My sincere thanks to PaintLab for helping turn my apartment into a place that truly feels like home! read more

Paintlab handled the repainting of our apartment in Midtown East, and they did a really solid job. The walls came out smooth with clean edges, and the color match was spot on. The crew was professional and finished faster than I expected. Fair price for Manhattan standards too -- I'd use them again. read more

We have been looking for a painter for our apartment on the upper west side. It is a Pierre-de-tier so I had to do everything via FaceTime which was a little challenging. Bair came for an initial walk-through on a fairly short notice and I explained everything over the phone of what I wanted done. He produced a quote within 3 hours after the virtual meeting with a very reasonable price. The communication had been easy and productive which gave me good feeling about working with Bair. It turned out I had made the right choice! Bair and his crew were very professional and detail-oriented. They really took the time to make sure the prep work was done properly and masked every inch of the floor and areas that were not to be painted. He was patient in helping me put up paint samples and sent me photos to explain what he thought would go well with the room. The job took a little longer than expected as it overlapped the Thanksgiving holiday but Bair didn't rush and cut corners. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was painted to the most professional standards and cleaned up the job site efficiently with all trash properly disposed of. One of the other most important reason that I hired Bair was because I had two accent walls that needed to install wallpapers. Many painting companies don't do wallpapers. It was a surprise that Bair actually does wallpaper so I didn't have to hire another wallpaper installer which saved me a lot of time. I was a little skeptical about how the wallpaper installation would turn out as I have one wall with a slightly tricky pattern. It took someone with experience to align that pattern nicely with placement that doesn't abruptly cut them off at the corners of the walls. Bair did a fantastic job and it was a relief to me when I saw the finished accent walls. They looked so good and were exactly how I envisioned them to be! I rarely wrote such long review so it tells how satisfied I am with Bair and his work, especially that I am fairly picky person and oversee jobs with considerable emphasis on details. Bair not only has the skills, but is also a genuinely nice and honest person with great manners and a kind heart, which is pretty precious for a contractor these days. I highly recommend him and him crew to anyone looking for a great painter. He would definitely be my go-to guy for any future paint jobs. read more

Beautiful painting work by the PaintLab team. We met with several painters, and Bair stood out for his clear, responsive communication. Bair and team did not disappoint: from start to finish, PaintLab was helpful, actively communicating with us on everything from paint choices to building insurance documents for our co-op to planning and timing. We were never in the dark, and received status updates throughout. PaintLab exceeded our expectations on cost, timing, and great quality, and they were easy to work with. I would not hesitate to use PaintLab again, and recommend them completely. read more

Bair and his team did an amazing job painting our apartment from start to finish. When I first contacted him, he got back to me right away, and since I still hadn't closed on my apartment, he was able to give me a quote based only on the floor plan and some photos. We only had three days to paint our apartment between closing and moving in, and Bair and his team got it done in time. Despite this, the work came out beautifully and professionally, with no cut corners (such as painting over receptacles). Bair will definitely be my go-to for all of my painting needs in the future, and I highly recommend him. read more

My wife and I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and professionalism that Bair and his team demonstrated when working on re-painting our apartment prior to moving in. He gave us advice on what paint colors & sheen made sense for the space and also was transparent about what additional touch-ups he recommended. Not only did he keep us up to date on the progress of the work frequently, he gave us the opportunity to see the finished product in case there were any issues. To top it off, Bair provided a very reasonable quote for the scoped work, much better than other prices that we have gathered. I couldn't recommend Bair and his team enough and plan on reaching out to them for any future work. read more

Bair is so wonderful to work with -- he's friendly, communicative, respectful, responsive, patient, reliable, and meticulous. He's also very honest with his opinions and suggestions on colors and the scope of work v.s. cost trade-offs. His quote was the most reasonable of all that I looked at, and he completed the work within the time frame that he promised. He has high standards and is very detail-oriented, and he cares about the service that he provides. He was careful with our furniture and new floors, which was important to me. Some (one?) of his staff may be less meticulous as we noticed a few parts that weren't as thoroughly painted (e.g., paint streaks and some chipped wood were visible). However, Bair was responsive and reassuring when we raised our observations with him, and he agreed to return to fix the minor issues and add an extra coat of paint that was needed for the accent wall in our bedroom. We love the new look in our apartment! There's so much that goes into the craft of professional painting; Bair has my appreciation and respect. Bair is a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him and work with him again. read more

Bair was great to work with. We had a project that turned out to be more complicated than expected. Bair came by for an estimate and was able to tackle our project the next day. He took great care in his work and was detail oriented. He did a good job of covering the work area and keeping our bedroom clean. We are just waiting for the paint to dry but would recommend Bair for your painting needs. We plan to have him tackle a few other projects soon! read more

I had my entire 1BR apartment repainted, including closets. Bair and his team did a fantastic job with very high attention to detail. My walls were badly stained and the doors had deep scratches. We hired Paintlab to paint our NYC apartment. Communication was great and they were quick to respond w/ estimate and availability. It was great working with Bair and I would certainly hire him again. I'd recommend Paintlab to anyone looking for a good quality at a good value. Paintlab painted both walls and floor, and some minor repairs of holes. It wasn't a perfect job and where there were errors, Bair quickly repaired them. He was kind, professional and accommodating. Besides this, the quality of the work was commensurate with the price, which is actually not very common these days and what I was most pleased with. Learning from my errors, make sure you're very clear about everything you want and if possible, inspect the work in progress. read more

Bair and his team did a wonderful job on my apartment. He took apart doors to prime and paint them and, in one particular instance, the result was not only a beautiful door but one that was no longer unable to close completely.
