Life saver! I called in urgently on a Sunday morning and Edwin came over to my apartment within two hours and finished the entire job that afternoon. A true blessing. Thank you! read more

Edwin was an absolute pleasure to work with. He reached out the same day I sent an inquiry and was able to start the job immediately. He was knowledgeable about colors, paint types, and even threw in an extra room free of charge. We also had a huge wall of bookshelves that he painted very intricately. It's rare to find someone that hits the nail on the head across the board but this was Edwin. I found him through a referral and it's no surprise most of his business is repeat customers and word of mouth. Thank you for making our new home look wonderful! read more

Edwin was just awesome! Starting with communication: fast email replies and easy scheduling. He bought the paint himself, brought everything he needed to paint my studio in three colors, arrived on time and with a super positive energy. But best of all, the quality of the paint job is perfect! I'm talking every little curve and small space was clean and precise and just super pro. I'm so very happy. (This is light years beyond in quality and service than the last person I hired.) Thank you, Edwin! read more

Edwin has become our go-to for paintwork throughout our apartment since hiring him 4+ years ago. He has painted everything from our hallway (with 15" height ceilings), kids bedroom, our bedroom (twice as we wanted a color block wall), and bathroom. It is clear from the output that Edwin is highly skilled at his job. He is meticulous and very neat which is what you'd expect from a premium paint job. He guides on paint color and I love that he uses non toxic paints (which was especially important for us with our then-baby, now-toddler). Edwin is also just an all-round good dude! Smart, interesting and friendly. Without a doubt I'd recommend Edwin if you're looking for premium paint service from a trustworthy and highly skilled individual. We'll certainly be calling upon Edwin again to help us sell our apartment next year and spruce up a few walls. read more

Unreliable service. Honestly a weird experience - Edwin came to look at my project and took on the job. Then, after receiving a quote and setting up a plan for the job, he bailed on me saying "it was too risky." Quite annoying and unprofessional. I would not recommend. read more

Altogether incredible job. The two owners are friends of mine so this may be a bit bias but I was so impressed and happy with Eddy and Gigi as a team. They were thorough, congenial, considerate and super professional. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do so Gigi helped me out by offering a "color consultation" which went above and beyond taking into consideration furniture, art/hangings, lighting feng shui. I'm not a good eye for the technical side of painting but I know that I'm so proud of my apartment because of the two walls they painted. Everything was very clean and they didn't leave any marks anywhere, after 3 coats! These are two super chill people that I've always just hung out with and loved, but doing business with them was an equal if not greater pleasure seeing how it is when you deal with good, fair people that know what they're doing and don't feel the need to make you feel lesser because you don't have the slightest clue ;) Granted, this was my first paint job ever and it was probably on the more simple side as far as jobs could go, but I would have no hesitation in using Green City for a a larger or more complicated painting endeavor. Edwin saved our apartment! I screwed up a home project involving the largest wall in my home, resulting in a bumpy, uneven mess. Edwin came in with an incredibly positive and patient attitude. Over the course of almost two weeks he sanded, plastered, sanded again, plastered again, and then painted until it was flawless. Other contractors would have rushed the job and tried to get it done in a day or two, but Edwin showed his dedication to perfectionism by giving each layer adequate time to dry, even though that meant many more trips for him. We were so impressed with his work that we also had him paint all the doors in our home (including a tricky pair of small French doors) and they all came out perfect. We can't recommend Edwin enough! read more

Edwin from Green City Painters came to paint my ceilings a pale green and did a beautiful job. He was super responsive and helpful in sharing from his expertise. He gathered the supplies and was careful, quick and cheerful. Even went the extra mile and touched up my dinged up walls. highly recommend! read more

Edwin was a true hero! We tore up one of our walls (the drywall and paint) while moving out. We had to get it fixed immediately in order to get our security deposit back. He saved the day! He showed up just a couple of hours after we called and he brought everything he needed to fix the wall. It looks incredible. Best part? Our landlord agreed and is giving us our full security deposit back!! I'm so glad we called him! Would hire him again in a heart beat! read more

I had a wonderful experience working with Edwin. I contacted him on a Saturday morning requesting a quote to paint my 11x11 bedroom. He rang me back in mere minutes. Edwin was friendly and had a very honest vibe. He described his practices (e.g. they use eco friendly paint) and he gave me a general quote (which was the least expensive among those I contacted), but suggested he come by to properly survey the room and provide a firm quote. We scheduled an appointment for a few hours later and Edwin showed up at the exact time we had agreed to. He surveyed the room and stayed true to the original quote. We were on the fence about painting the area by my curtain rod, so we decided to keep it white and potentially paint it later. We scheduled the paint job for Monday (that's right, only two days later) and he explained to me that he would buy the materials from a local Mom and Pop and charge me for the paint only (for real) and provide a receipt. I paid him for materials and for half of the job up front. On Monday evening, I came home to find my bedroom had been painted with perfect precision in each and every crevice. The lines were smooth and the color popped, especially after he painted my window ledge glossy white (his suggestion, so glad I agreed). However, I didn't love the look of the still white area by the curtain rod. I told him such and he said he would come back to paint the curtain rod area gratis. A few days later, I contacted him to schedule the follow-up, and he came back the next day (I believe it was that Thursday!) to edit the job to my liking (for free ya'll!). I now sit in my super rich looking Benjamin Moore Driftscape Tan bedroom and fantasize about filling it up with gorgeous art and furniture pieces from Anthropologie. Edwin absolutely nailed the painting job and he wrote the book on customer service and good business juju. I will absolutely look to work with him again and would recommend his services to all of you looking for a fair price, speedy service, pleasant experience, top notch execution, trustworthiness, and DAMN GOOD VIBES. read more

Jihene did a terrific job in our apartment. Her color consultation was invaluable in focusing our thinking about colors that would give each room and each perspective just the affect we wanted. I appreciate the enormous care Jihene puts into her thinking about color and her painting, and how deeply she thinks through questions and decisions at every step of the way. Jihene engaged with us very deeply too, involving us in a great deal of communication on many aspects of these decisions. If that kind of intensive process sounds good to you, I expect you'll enjoy the experience with Jihene. And I have great confidence in her ability to achieve excellent results even in challenging circumstances. We're extremely happy with the outcome of Jihene's work, both the color selection process and the painting itself. It's a joy to live in the fruits of all of that effort. read more

My wife and I chose Green City Painters mainly because of the great reviews and their attention to detail. Edwin, Gigi and Miguel were well worth the price and were very accommodating. They all worked around our schedules and were able to get the job done in time for us to enjoy our holidays! Miguel is the master of plaster. We had over twenty big holes in our ceiling and walls from the electrical work we had done recently. When he was done, you'd never be able to tell they were ever there. Gigi will protect your stuff like no one I've ever seen. All of our floors, furniture and other stuff never saw a speck of dust or paint - incredible! Edwin keeps everything running smoothly and was great at keeping in touch throughout the project - setting expectations and timelines. On a personal note, we mistakenly overpaid $500 due to some miscalculation on my part. Edwin not only called that evening to let me know, but came by my workplace to drop off the extra cash in person. Sweet folks, great painters, and a wonderful experience. read more

Edwin and his team were great! From the moment he came in to see the scope of work to when he was done with the job he was professional and easy to reach. One of the reasons we contacted Green city to begin with was because it important to us that we limit the number of toxins in our home and Edwin and his team were very conscientious of environment within the home and how certain actions and products effect it. He also set us up with his colorist to help us pick the right colors for us. We have never done something like that before and thought we knew exactly what we wanted. We quickly learned a lot from the colorist Jihene. She helped us push our comfort zone a little bit and pick some amazing colors that really made the rooms pop. Overall we are very satisfied with the entire experience and look forward to using Edwin and his team in the future. read more

Awesome. They went over nook and cranny in my apartment and explained to me what my options were. Gave me different prices depending on what exactly I wanted painted and were very helpful in choosing what I should and should not paint. They even fixed up the amateur paint job I did to my bedroom. They patched up all the oddities on the walls and holes left over by nails. Cleaned up everything after they were done. Would definitely recommend. Also uses eco-friendly paint which is much safer. read more

Jihene and Edwin were amazing. They really looked out for me. Made sure I knew how much I was paying and for what. Jihene charges per color choice not for time. I chose three other colors during one almost three hour session. She took objects in my apartment out and inferred from them what colors would go well while also helping me make the decision. I changed my mind about the living room, wanting to go more yellow and she CAME BACK and let me choose a different one at no extra charge. Edwin and Jihene want you to have a beautiful home that you love. I went away on vacation and came back and my apartment was painted. It was awesome! read more

We needed 3 exterior doors painted and initially I was concerned about finding a quality painter to do a smaller job in the Summer. Edwin returned my call promptly and provided me with a competitive quote the next day. He's a really nice guy who is passionate about his craft and took the time to go through our options and made some recommendations. When painting, he took the necessary time to set up and keep the place clean and did an excellent job transforming our doors from a factory finish white to a glossy black (with no brush strokes!). We couldn't be happier with the quality of his work and his attention to detail. I highly recommend him and will work with him again in the future. read more

Green City Painters came right over when we called for an estimate. Gave us a very fair price for painting our large one-bedroom apartment. The walls were in rough shape, they needed a lot of cracks filled, old water damage repaired and Green City Painters went the extra mile before they even started painting, making our walls smooth and perfect. The paint job was top notch, we've worked with other paint contractors before who couldn't cut in a straight line if their lives depended on it. Not only did Green City Painters crew cut in masterful straight lines between the moulding and the walls, they far exceeded our expectations by leaving the apartment spotless when the job was done. Overall, a rare and excellent service I would highly recommend. read more

Edwin was precise, clean, and professional. He was helpful and pleasant to work with. The time frame for the project was great. So happy with Green City Painters! Edwin came to the apartment to give us an estimate and was able to begin the job only 2 days later. He was extremely dedicated to the job and his craft--he came every day for 6 days in a row until the job was 100% finished. He tackled some water damaged ceilings and a hard-to-access stairwell. He was great during the process--easy to communicate with and neat & tidy throughout (no paint splashed on our belongings whatsoever!). The walls, ceilings, and stair well look so clean and fresh. Definitely recommend! read more

I requested a quote from them for a small job in my apartment I'm selling. Edwin showed up 50 minutes late, quoted me three times the amount or more of the other quotes I received and continued to share unsolicited advice on other painting work I needed to complete to sell my apartment. While I did appreciate their speediness to reach out to set up the initial meeting I was very disappointed with everything else. I obviously didn't hire them so I can't speak to their actual painting work. read more

Edwin and Jiji are two of the nicest people you could have working in your home, let alone two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. It takes me forever to decide anything and they are very patient. There were at least three false starts, all my fault. I first contacted Edwin in January so that I could get an estimate for painting my bedroom, bathroom and walk-in closet. Edwin and Jiji came over a couple of days later on February 1st - they gave me an estimate and consulted me about paint colours. And that was my problem... I thought that I would have a paint colour decision by end of the week, then end of the month, then mid-March. I didn't decide until April and even then it was a choice between three colours. Edwin came over in mid-April and painted the three swatches for me and I made a decision over the weekend. Finally on April 20th, the painting started. They were like a painting SEAL team. I would leave for work in the morning and come back in the evening. The only evidence of their being in my apartment was the new paint on the wall and the plastic sheeting on my floor. The paint job was fabulous and I'm really pleased with the finished result. They patched up all the little holes and my bathroom wall in particular looks brand new - I don't even want to install the new towel rack! I also like that they use eco-friendly paint and that they gave me receipts for all the supplies. I like knowing what's labor and what's supplies. As a side note, I had another painter come over to give me an estimate and Edwin's estimate was very competitive. Edwin also recommended a great electrician. All of my outlets and lightswitches were an almond colour and I wanted them white to go with the new paint. His electrician friend came right over and replaced everything. I can't recommend Green City Painters and Edwin and Jiji highly enough! Lovely people who do fantastic work! read more

We called Green City painters after a disastrous self attempt at painting, and they were worth every dollar! Gigi is great with colors and very thorough about making sure that they all flow together and that they fit your personality. If you have any questions about what colors you want the color consultation is worth every dollar. For our bedroom we were pleasantly surprised when she asked for a favorite memory of us as a 'couple' to draw on for the color. They were also flexible on their schedule which was great because we were looking to paint, like yesterday. On that note they were also very upfront about the time and cost to do things, like filling in cracks and buffing out bumpy bits. The quality of their painting was very good, and knowing that they use environmentally friendly paint was like icing on the cake! They even used what they could out of the left over supplies so that they didn't go to waste, and even better we didn't get charged for them buying things we had on hand. We stopped by just to check in on the progress and I had a schmultzy moment where I almost cried because our condo actually looked like what we had been envisioning! Our home is now a calm respite from the city that also compliments our style, thank you Green City Painters! read more

Edwin and Jihene are magical. I'd just moved in to a new place and the existing paint job was a nightmare. Chips and cracks and water damage and really bad, really dark colors. Now it looks flawless. All signs of the previous color nightmare (Edwin called it "suicide beige") and the nasty cracks and damage were gone. The new colors are gorgeous, thanks to Jihene's eye. They are both also incredibly warm, sweet people. Don't seek them out if you want the cheapest or the fastest option--choose them if you want to see folks with an almost maniacal attention to detail make your place look perfect. read more

If you are looking to hire painters in Brooklyn, look no further than Green City! From their reply to my first inquiry through the completion of my job, Green City Painters was prompt, reliable and professional. Edwin and Thomas just spent the past several days painting my kitchen and my living/dining area and it looks amazing. The job included a variety of challenges (very detailed corinthian columns, covering up water stains) and they handled all of them wonderfully. They were also very accommodating with our schedule and very upfront about the breakdown of the cost so that we could choose the elements that were most important to us to stay within our budget. 5 stars! read more

Edwin and Jiji did an amazing job -- they didn't just paint, they helped us figure out what kind of paint to use, how the accents would best work, etc. They painted our entire apartment while we were on vacation (very trustworthy and respectful -- we live in a condo and there were no complaints from any neighbors). We were stunned when we came back and saw how different and good our place looked. Fantastic painters, and great people ... read more

Relying on Yelp has benefited in a serious way this time. When Edwin came over to analyze my place, it was obvious that this man knew what he was talking about. From the shades, and even the different types of paint, he was on point. I was able to get him and his company to begin the next day, and the paint job came out flawless. Edwin and Jiji painted portions of my apartment, and their work is precise and neat. They spent more time in the prep; cleaning the walls, covering all surfaces, and taping than in the actual painting. They do a terrific job of cleaning up after the work is done also. They are flexible, I had to reschedule twice, and the work is carefully done. I really appreciated their flexibility. I was not that knowledgeable before, never having to hire a painter, so didn't realize the quote I received didn't include any of the doorways and the associated trim. I was quite surprised when I was told that to include the doors, it would be an additional $50 - $100 per door. They are a high end painting company and do very high end work. If you want your apartment painted in a neat professional manner, they are the company to call. read more

We had to paint our entire apartment and I am so happy that I chose these guys. Super professional, environmentally conscious and very nice people. Edwin came in for a quote and after that the job was done in a timely manner and with lot of attention to details (that was very important to me because he had to also paint around wallpaper). When I told him that I was not sure about the color of my accent wall he gave me all the time I needed to make up my mind and came back once I was ready for it (his business partner helped a lot with that, I never knew a "color consultation" was even a thing!). My experience with them was great and I will definitely use them again in the future. read more

Eddie and Jiji were a dream come true. I moved into an old apartment in Greenpoint which needed a lot of work. I looked on Yelp and noticed Green City Painters to have the best ratings so decided to give it a go. Prior to moving in, many cabinets had been stripped, leaving multiple holes all over the wall. I was quoted a good price, and hoped to have the holes patched and room painted in a day. When they began to scrape away the paint, they unfortunately found a huge amount of water damage/mold within the walls near the windows. They did the best they could to cover this in an eco friendly manner, but ended up having to us an oil based paint to stop the moisture from coming through (I did not mind). Even though the work took an additional two days for the plaster/primer to dry and be painted, Eddie and Jiji did not charge me any additional amount. They did an outstanding job, and transformed the room into an amazing living space. Not only is their work exceptional, but these two are lovely, genuine people. It was a pleasure working with them and I will definitely call them again when I need a room painted. Highly recommended. read more

Jihene is absolutely amazing! We closed on a 2 bedroom apartment in Park Slope at the end of June and had one month to get the whole place painted before we had to move in at the end of July. I sent Jihene and Edwin an email asking for availability and to have a color consultation. Jihene came to our new place around 7PM on the 4th of July to do an excellent consultation. She was patient, friendly, professional, and really took the time to find out what we wanted from our home and to help us choose colors that would go well together. We talked about our mood, expectations for use of the various rooms, the light in the apartment and how it changes over the day - she has her bases covered and is committed to helping you pick the right colors for your home. The fact that she was willing to spend almost 3 hours working with us on a holiday was amazing. After we chose our colors we got an estimate for the work and Jihene and Edwin started two weeks later. They estimated 8 days for the work and finished in 7. They are very meticulous and careful painters and spent a lot of time doing plaster work before they started actually painting so that the walls would look great. They also covered all of the floors and other surfaces while they were working so there were no stray drip marks anywhere after the job was done. In the 7 days they painted our large living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, and did all of the trim and window sills. Their work is beautiful and we love the cheerful bright look of our new apartment.
