I used this company for a 1 bedroom move. Their quotes are partially time-based. The first two hours have a set cost and then there is a charge for each additional half hour. Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate. read more

DAMAGED MY TV! Terrible experience with Dyno Moving. The entire service on move day was a mess from start to finish. The movers arrived with no sense of urgency and ignored the fact that our storage facility was closing at 7 PM -- even though they were clearly informed ahead of time. Because of their poor time management, we couldn't get most of our belongings into storage, causing a huge disruption. To make matters worse, they barely moved any of the large furniture from our apartment. Other than the bed and a few small pieces that were supposed to go to another location, most of our items were left behind. Only one mover, Marcel, acted professionally and put in real effort. The other two stood around, wasted time, and made the situation worse. The most disappointing part was the owner, Alex, who got on the phone and started shouting at me, blaming me for things that were completely out of my control. He was aggressive, dismissive, and completely invalidated my concerns. I've moved with them two times. The first was good - took 3 hours total to move my one bedroom apartment into storage. Second time was awful. 8.5 hours to get the exact stuff out of that storage. It was abundantly clear that they were dragging their feet to run up the meter. I think the first time was efficient because I was the morning shift at the end of the month so they needed to get to other moves. The second move was a mid-month move so they were bringing up one box a time in the service elevator and had a guy manning the car rather than letting my partner or I watch the car while all three men did the move. I was also highly annoying at the end when I was tipping $50 each to the movers and the main guy asked for a bigger tip because the move took so long. It was so rude and I should have said no and called out the laziness and dishonesty of running up the bill so high. read more

Very pleased with our move from Manhattan to the burbs of NJ. Kamil and his team were very professional and didn't blink getting our enormous sofa down 5 flights of tight stairs when it wouldn't fit in the elevator. I setup the appointment which was super easy and confirmed all details in email. Once the movers arrived they made me sign some papers and quickly got to work. I paid 375 for 2 hours, for a 3 man team. Once arrived they started moving my furniture. Wrapped everything, disassembled my bed and filled their truck. We left together and they arrived shortly after I did. 15mins drive. Once I get there they arrived shortly after. They set everything up and left shortly after. The bill was brought up, signed and complete. Movers were good and quick. My belongings were all intact. The grand total was around 435 before tip. The total included the bubble wrap for my 65' TV $50 and the wrapping of my mattress $15. All in all great phone and customer service. read more

They are transparent with the quoted pricing and are clear in their detailed email with any additional charges if the move goes beyond 2 hours (if you pay by credit card there's a 5% fee, Zelle 3% fee, or you can pay by cash). THEY WILL BREAK YOUR TV AND DENY RESPONSIBILITY!!!! they charged us extra to pack our tv's with bubble wrap and blankets, but ended up breaking one of our tv's and are refusing to take accountability for it. they offered an application to request 20 cents per pound of item broken, but this tv costs over $500 and definitely will not be covered. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! THEY WILL BREAK YOUR STUFF AND DENY EVERYTHING!!! they were the only ones that touched the tv and they're saying they didn't do it. what BS!!!! i would give 0 stars if i could. Edit: Bumping up to 2 stars. FWIW the moving company owner called and apologized. They offered a refund of the tips and indicated it was not their usual crew, a bad day, etc. We greatly appreciated the genuine apology and declined the refund. We had a terrible experience with Dyno--strongly recommend you use a different mover unless you wanted to be yelled at by the dispatcher, pay far more than quoted, and held up for extra cash at the end of the move. We were excited to use them and we quickly confirmed a time for "Friday at noon". When noon rolled around on move-in day and the movers were nowhere to be found, we called in to check. The dispatcher was rude and yelled at my wife, informing her that "noon" doesn't include noon and is a "12:30-2:30" window. While that was a bad experience, we would have been fine overlooking it once the move was done. The move took significantly longer than promised even though it was 3 movers for a 1 bedroom. The movers seemed inexperienced and were taking longer than expected to move us out of our 1 BR. They didn't bring water or bottles to refill (seems insane for a mover), so we ran out and grabbed them some. Again, this would have been fine if the move went smoothly, but... At the end of the move, the head of the team informed us that it's customary to tip $150 per person for a move, which would push us to around 50% tipping on a $900 1 bedroom move. This is insane and has no basis in how people tip movers. He got angry and threatened us, clearly using a bullying tactic that worked for him in the past. He claimed the company only would pay them $80 each for all day which if true reflects poorly on Dyno. And then he also tried to blame us moving into a 2-bedroom on driving up the tip amount (even though we moved from a 1-bedroom) When we wouldn't tip more, he stormed out. It was an uncomfortable experience and we both felt threatened and held up by the encounter. Will never use them again. read more

My wife and I first hired Dyno Moving back in 2021, when we moved from a 3rd floor walk-up in Bushwick to a 3rd floor walk-up in Yorkville. We were lucky to have Kirill and his team do the move and were very happy with them. So when rent increases prompted another move, and with budget being a concern, we hired Dyno Moving and specifically asked for Kirill. Here's what you get with Kirill: a very clear explanation at the start of everything that's about to happen -- he went through the contract and pricing clearly. An understanding and patient approach to your move -- he was super helpful in helping me pack all the random things I still had laying around. And most importantly, you get a super chill guy who makes an already stressful day much, much easier. Kirill and his team, Bellik and Myssa, just did the work. They didn't complain, and it was a tough job -- moving a bunch of boxes and furniture from a 3rd floor walk-up to a 4th floor walk-up is not an easy task! Bonus detail: Before heading out from Manhattan to our new place in Queens, Kirill asked me to define what route to take, whether I was OK with a toll road (a bit quicker) or to take the Queensboro Bridge (no toll). I opted for the latter since I didn't want to pay an additional toll fee. The fact that he asked and just didn't tack on extra fees at the end helped reinforce my trust in them even more. All in all, if you're looking for a moving company to do a good job and treat your stuff well, go with Dyno and ask for Kirill. And important to note, they are CASH ONLY, so plan ahead for the full cost and your movers' well-deserved tips. My building required a COI and they sent it over very quickly (way before my move) and they confirmed the night before. I moved within the same building and the move took about an hour- super fast. I moved twice with Dyno, and I would recommend them for small rooms, but anything more and the quality isn't worth what you pay for. The first move was great, they were super expedient and managed to fit all my things into a tiny storage unit perfectly! The second move also included one extra stop to pick up an item I had purchased online. Getting from the pick up to the next location took them forever -- I arrived by car 30 minutes before they did even though we left the area at the same time. I have no idea what took them so long or why, but that ate into our 2 hour cap exponentially, costing me a lot more money. All in all, I recommend Dyno for small moves (studio or less), anything bigger and I'm not sure it's worth it. read more
