Absolutely the best movers around. From scheduling to execution they exceeded expectations and everything was flawless. The crew was amazing, incredibly profeessional, polite, took excellent care with our belongings, and went out of their way to make sure everything was addressed. We were stressed about the move but it went so smooth, and they made it so easy, that we had nothing to worry about. We had them pack all of our belongings, best choice we ever made. It would have taken us days to do it ourselves and things would have broken along the way. They did it quickly and securely and it went off without any incidents. Thanks for a great experience, you can't go wrong with these guys! read more

JP Urban made what is usually a very stressful situation for an 89 year old woman an enjoyable one . These guys are definitely the best . Marcos and his crew are pros and hard workers. Milan kept me updated on the process often . I would definitely recommend these guys if you want a stress free move , these are your guys . Great company ! read more

A fantastic experience start to finish. We moved 10 years ago and got a quote from another mover, and a prelim quote from JP Urban. Unfortunately we went with the other mover as my wife had used them before, but now I've come to realize we should have let them both quote us on the move. This time, I decided just based off of Yelp and other reviews to stick with JP Urban. Now cameras\phones\AI I assume is so advanced you can do a virtual walkthrough for your quote, which is very nice. Milan was fantastic at setting everything up, Ronny and JR were in charge of the crew, and they were fantastic at navigating the myriad issues involved (coop to coop move). They managed to move 5 Billy bookcases, 3 of which are 15 years old at this point, without a single issue of any kind. These are not the sturdiest of items, so I find that impressive. They had zero damage at either building, and given what I saw in the myriad moves from our old building, where I was a member of the board, most moving companies have a total lack of care. read more

Best moving experience I've ever had. And best New York contractor experience too. They showed up exactly on time (to the minute!), figured out how to disassemble our complicated sectional sofa, carefully wrapped everything and then negotiated our narrow townhouse stairs to get everything on the truck. All done with good cheer and attention to detail. And with helpful SMS communications before, during, and after the move. Highly recommended. read more

They stayed in touch from when I booked through the move date, using email and text for forms that needed to be filled out. It was all very easy. They came exactly on time. My priority was that the move should be drama free, and it was. I was willing to pay more so that it should be drama free. What surprised me most was that because everything was pre-packed and was an easy move, they charged me less than estimated because it was quick. So I didn't even have to pay more. You would have expected that since the price was linked to how long it took, that the movers would have taken it easy. But they moved extremely quick. So I am overall very happy with my experience. read more

This has been my best moving experience in NYC. I'm so happy that I finally found movers that actually are very careful and diligent in moving. In every other move, I've come out with damaged items but not with JP Urban Moving. I will definitely recommend to my friends. One thing I will note is that they start the time when they are parking the truck. And I calculated the time based on when they rang my doorbell. There was a 30 min difference which was a discrepancy but I didn't fight it. I also ran out to get the team bottled waters since it didn't look like they had any. Overall, good experience. read more

My wife and I recently moved from Jackson Heights, Queens (NYC) to Poughkeepsie. JP Urban Moving was recommended by a good friend and I gotta say, the process was very friendly and seamless from the get-go. They have terrific communication and worked with us when we had to delay the move from Dec 2024 to Jan 2025. We packed our 2BR and Miguel's team of four showed up earlier than the 9am start time. They hit the ground running and it was like a whirlwind, they worked so fast and so diligently. All with a terrific attitude and smile throughout the day and into the evening when they finished up in Poughkeepsie after 7pm. Their pricing is totally fair, and we have lined them up for further moves (next one later in the year moving our studio from DUMBO, Brooklyn, up to Newburgh, NY). We would give them 10 stars if Yelp let us! I'm serious: we LOVED working with them. My wife and I are 60 years old and have moved probably nine times in the past 30 years...and OMG these guys were THE BEST of all of our moves. I literally cannot gush enough. Proof is in the pudding that JP treats their workers well, too -- Miguel has been with them for 10 years. 'Nuff said! Thank you Julia & John at JP Urban Moving!! read more

Best moving experience I've had in moving in NYC and multiple cross-country moves. -- this time moving from 3rd-story walk up with wonky stairs. Night and day experience from move into the same building with a big name company during the summer. The prior company had to partially dismantle the stairwell to get things into the building and the end cost was twice as high. Moving from the same brownstone to an elevator building with detailed rules and regulations, this time in mid-winter-- even with sub-zero temperatures, 2-foot snowbanks and a disorganized client, JP Urban was wonderful. the process of planning the move and arranging the advance paperwork with JP was seamless. The day of the move, the team was on time, hard-working and good-natured about everything. I could not recommend this company more highly -- they are worth every penny and more! read more

Moving out of Brooklyn is always daunting, and it's been 7 years since my last move so I was on the market for new movers. I did some research and compared quotes, ultimately went with JP because their forms were easy to fill out, their team responsive, and their prices fair. They scheduled with me quickly, checked in about COIs, and gave me a ton of information to help me prep for my move. They confirmed the move date and time a few times in the lead up which gave me a lot of confidence in JP. On moving day, they showed up exactly on time. It was a team of 4 guys led by Axel, the team leader, who was extremely communicative, friendly, and organized. He asked me questions at every stage to make sure they were following whatever plan I had in my head. They carefully deconstructed, wrapped, and moved all of my furniture, art, electronics - it was incredible to watch. Such an organized and professional team. They arrived at the next location on Long Island (about a 1 hour drive away) right on time. They were quick and courteous unloading the truck and were happy to help removing any items that were leaving the Long Island house. That was a HUGE help as we were getting rid of a bed and a heavy treadmill - they easily walked those items right out for us. I was dreading this move, and JP Urban Moving, Axel and the team made it so smooth. We were done in 6.25 hours and I saved 5% by paying cash. I made sure to tip the guys for all of their hard work moving me on a hot summer day. THANK YOU JP URBAN MOVING! Next time I move I know who to call. read more

Everything went well! These gentlemen are honest, thoughtful and I highly recommend their company.

Hire these guys immediately for your move! My husband and I cannot recommend this company enough. We have moved 4 times over the last 6 years and have had terrible experiences with other companies from being late, overcharging for services NOT rendered, not communicative, and disrespectful to our belongings. JP Urban Moving was by far the best experience we've ever had. The guys showed up on time, read our notes and came prepared with supplies and dollies for the stairs, were respectful of all our precious belongings, hustled to stay within the allotted time, wrapped everything and even put together our couch, beds, entertainment console, shelving units and dining room table and got done early! They were friendly and helpful, had great communication and the price was right! Don't be fooled by other companies with their gimmicks and cute logos. Moving in NYC is no joke--especially when you're coming from a 6-floor walk-up. I recently moved out of my first New York apartment, and I genuinely don't know what I would've done without Marco's team from JP Urban Moving. They were beyond professional, kind, and incredibly efficient. They packed up everything for me--kitchen, bedroom, bathroom--you name it. I didn't have to lift a finger. What really blew me away was how they handled the stairs like it was nothing. I struggle just getting groceries up those steps, so watching them work was seriously impressive. They had the best energy all day, and made what could've been a super stressful move feel easy and even enjoyable. If you're moving in New York, do yourself a favor and hire this team!!! They saved me so much time, stress, and back pain. Moving my partner out of Brooklyn to Long Island, she was ready to take the first recommendation and first quote just to get it done. This is what a person scarred by moving in NYC looks like. Digging a bit deeper for alternatives, JP Urban Moving's reviews were outrageously good so I suggested we get a few more quotes, just to see. Their quote was in the middle of the several we solicited, but with reviews like this, we felt comfortable going with the social proof. If this sounds like your situation, you don't need to read any further. This was our smoothest move, period, with no caveats. Our crew was punctual, courteous, and efficient, moving from our fourth-floor walkup in Crown Heights to Long Island in about six hours total on a hot summer day. A big part was effective communication: Their dispatch texted with us in the morning and checked on us throughout the day. The move crew called us on their early arrival and checked in with us on specific items. After getting the big pieces downstairs, the whole crew wrapping the remaining items for safe transport was a sight to behold--a cacophonous choreography of running and ripping plastic wrap in harmony. It could not have gone smoother. read more

Thrilled with the professionalism, efficiency, and care that JP Urban Moving provided for my recent move. My stress level around having to move was extremely high, and I was exhausted from the search for a new place. I had several recommendations for movers, but a friend's recommendation of JP Urban Moving stood out. I went in with high expectations, and they were exceeded. I put my move in their hands, and it was one of the best decisions I've made. Marcos and his team arrived promptly at 9 as arranged, they carefully packed up my apartment in the blink of an eye (paying for packing is 100% worth it) and had everything in the new apartment within the estimated timeframe. There was no wasted energy in their movements--they worked together extremely efficiently. I couldn't believe how much I'd squirreled away over the years, but it was no big deal to them, even the awkwardly shaped table with legs that couldn't be removed. James packed up my kitchen, plates, and glasses expertly--nothing was damaged or even remotely at risk. And all the boxes and eco bins were accurately and legibly labeled for easy unpacking. It was a true pleasure watching these professionals do their craft. I hope I don't need their services again for a long time, but I'm so glad I know they're there if I do. read more

Really happy I went with JP for my move. Took about 3 hrs. Team led by Sal was very nice and careful with my things. Made sure to tape anything that wasn't coming with and was staying with my roommate. Wrapped items well and brought backup boxes which helped with some past minute items I had forgotten about. Reason I went with them in the first place is that the site was prob the easiest to navigate. The item entry form was straightforward. I could update easily and put in specific measurements. Communication was also great. Jazmin the dispatcher checked in before during and after via text. I've been busy with work and only booked a week in advance but in the span of like 48 hrs she helped me get an estimate, cap price, and booking. Thank you again! read more

Update: 1/8/25 Yet another fabulous experience with this amazing group of highly professional people. This is our third move with them, and they are beyond perfection. This time I was moving my office from Queens to Huntington LI. How they could do such a caring job wrapping and protecting the furniture and expertly wrapping and protecting everything, in such a short time, is a miracle I can't explain even though I watched the whole thing unfolding. They pay attention to every detail, they are extremely kind and thoughtful at every step, their price is low for the incredible quality of their service. I cannot say enough about these folks. I am deeply indebted to them for making the anxiety that comes with a move just melt away. They are the best. read more

The most honest moving company in NYC. Transparency from beginning to end. The quote price didn't change. There were no surprise charges at the end. If you're moving, hire JP Urban Moving! Incredible experience from booking to the moving experience--I was impressed with the fast responses and care put into every interaction. For the move itself, the movers handled everything with expert care. I felt very confident throughout the process and was relieved to have such care given when moving can be so stressful. Aside from the professionalism and efficiency of our movers, I have to share that not only did everything make it safely to our new apartment, our movers unpacked, staged and organized everything. I was not expecting that! Again, impressed at every step of the process and will hire them again for our next move. Highly recommend, look no further and book these guys! read more

I moved from NYC to the midwest. I went with JP Urban Moving on the recommendation of a neighbor. I knew it was going to go great when the guys who showed up were the actual guys in the pictures on their website which I thought were just stock photos. lol. There were a couple hiccups: I had more stuff than I estimated and my building made us use a difficult to navigate ramp. The guys from JP didn't complain and didn't overcharge me. When the truck showed up at my new place 2 days later, it was the same guys unloading. Everything made it in perfect shape, and they put all my stuff where I requested. One thing to note when budgeting your move which I didn't know about: they suggest a 20% tip. I assume this is standard in the industry. read more

JP URBAN MOVING is just wonderful! Dumbo Movers moved us out of our apartment. BAD choice! They broke the 6-foot marble dresser top into 3 pieces (they also "lost" its wall mirror and broke the glass tops to 2 small tables). We are suing them. We hired JP URBAN MOVING to transport the broken marble top to the repair facility. The movers were professional, on-time and efficient - and aghast at what Dumbo had done. They treated my poor marble top with great care. We hired them to take it to the facility, and then to return it to us once it was miraculously repaired. (Shout out to American Marble & Stoneworks, Inc. in Weehawken, NJ. Theo is an artisan & magician!) The JP office was efficient, friendly and responded quickly. Chris kept us apprised of the progress on the moving days. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced and trustworthy moving company, choose JP URBAN MOVING. read more

Moving is always the biggest pain in the butt and I'm always stressed out leading up to it. I decided that we were going to use a moving company this time around. After doing a ton of research and getting more quotes than I could count, I decided to go with JP. Our move was a 2 BR in Brooklyn, 1 stop in Morris Plains NJ to pick up some more furniture, and finally to Weehawken NJ. The entire duration of the move was a little less than 6 hours, including the 1.5 hours travel time, talk about efficient! I found a September moving special on their website for $99 an hour for 3 guys, and they honored that price. Our total move came out to about $1k after the moving, travel time, supplies, and tipping each of the guys, which was actually less than I thought it would come out to. Now onto the actual work. I couldn't be more impressed with how quickly and how well they packed all of our furniture. Nothing was damaged upon arrival, even all the more delicate/fragile items. They were incredibly attentive and organized, they communicated with me the entire time, and the dispatcher checked in with me throughout the trip to make sure we were on schedule and everything was going smoothly. 100% would use them again for my next move, couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. read more

I had a wonderful experience with JP Urban Moving. Moving apartments had me completely overwhelmed and worried. The team was very responsive to all of my questions during the quote process and help resolved all COI needs between the two buildings I was moving between. The team worked incredibly fast, and my move was completed ahead of schedule with no breakage or damage. They provided bins a week in advance that I packed myself, which led to very little waste on supplies. Pricing was very fair. I appreciated the dispatch team checking in with me via text along the way to confirm I was happy with the service. Don't hesitate to book these guys - your move will be a breeze! read more

The process of moving is so very stressful and after having a bad experience years ago during a previous move I was reluctant to look for help. Knowing I wouldn't be able to do it on my own, I searched for a few companies with good reviews and reached out. This company gave the best communication and I never felt like they were trying to pull one over on me. They laid it all out for me to review and I was able to make an informed decision based on my needs. Prior to and on the day of the move they communicated and listened in order to make the best plan for the move. My brother/roommate was with me during the move and was just as impressed with their efficiency. He has to move soon and will def keep this company in mind. I didn't have to do anything which only made me feel like I should have been doing something haha they were that good! This review is way over due and I definitely recommend this company not only for the excellent service but the fair price. read more

A MILLION STARS!! THEY DESERVE IT for exemplary care, integrity, efficiency, focus on relationship, and professionalism. We've moved a lot in our life, and hired all of the big name NYC movers. Funny, I can't remember who they were. BUT I will never forget JP URBAN MOVING. We are in our mid 50's. March 2019, after 12 years, we moved house with our "20 something" sons. JP UrbanMoving was a Godsend during a particularly stressful time in our lives. John took my initial call, and offered to come to our apartment to survey what we were moving, and what we weren't moving. It was complicated to me, but he confidently assessed our situation, and put me at ease. In fact, on his way to our first meeting, John texted me, and included a friendly emoticon to let me know he had left the subway and was walking to our apartment! He made me smile, and I was comfortable with him. John arrived, greeted me with a firm handshake and a friendly smile. I walked him through our Carroll Gardens duplex, pointing out what we were moving, and what we were not moving. He took notes and photos, and he wasn't the least bit fazed. I was a wreck. His disposition was comforting. He said he would prepare an estimate, get it to me over the weekend, and he did. John also encouraged me to get estimates from 3 other moving companies. I tried. I didn't like the way I was treated on the phone when I asked another local, bin providing, green movers to come and do an onsite assessment, so I ended my search. Seriously, I didn't have the emotional energy to collect additional estimates for this move. End of the day, JP Urban Moving's estimate was WAY lower than I expected, and that was good enough for me. I had a good feeling about John's company, and I trusted him. AND THEY BROUGHT ME BINS!!! Reusable bins that I didn't have to construct and tape up, and then unpack, break down and throw out, like card board boxes! OMG! So exciting...SERIOUSLY! And then... I needed MORE bins, so JP URBAN MOVING happily brought us MORE bins! WOW! Money, time and effort saved.Wow Wow Wow! The day of the move... We were all packed up... well, mostly. You know how that goes. I was freaking out. Chris and John dispatched, and stayed in communication, by group text with us, and our onsite mover foreman Manuel and his team. OMG! I love communication and follow up! Be still my heart! MANUEL and his TEAM arrived and took over with confidence and efficiency. I was immediately at ease. They knew what needed to be done, and they were doing it. They blanket wrapped all of the furniture, taped and bubble wrapped my computer, TV's, table lamps, and all of the fragile things I didn't know how to deal with. Everything was efficiently loaded onto the truck with GREAT CARE, and GENUINE RESPECT for us and our belongings. I fell a bit in love with these guys. The truck was loaded quickly. 12 years, and great angst, were behind us. We drove to meet the movers at our new home, about 8 miles away. Manuel wanted to stop and buy his guys coffee. I thought they should stop for lunch! When we got to the new apartment, Manuel and his TEAM were already waiting for us. I'm sorry we kept you guys waiting! The crew unpacked with the same energy, care, respect and efficiency. I watched them unload the truck from my upstairs window. The guys handed off the bins to one another in relay fashion. Wow! That was fast! What great team work! They related to each other as the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels do during synchronized flight maneuvers. Our mover guys deftly read my labels, and placed each bin and piece of furniture where I wanted it to go. If they weren't certain about where or how I wanted something placed, they patiently and respectfully asked and waited for my clarification. They carried my husband's Steinway Piano upstairs, with great care, patience, and would you believe humor? This could have been so stressful and frustrating, but our team from JP URBAN MOVING slowly and carefully lifted the piano up, stair by stair, and gleefully chuckled during the process. :))) They made me smile, big time! This was an arduous task which freaked me out, and our guys were actually having a good time working so hard together! I fell even deeper in love with them! The move was completed in less time than John originally estimated! There were no extra charges. No surprises. In fact, we owed less than originally estimated for the BEST MOVE EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES! When does that ever happen? We paid the bill, and added our savings to our tip for the amazing crew who did the heavy lifting. I'm sorry it has taken so long to post my review. You guys are all still on my mind, part of my conversations, and forever in my heart! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU, JP URBAN MOVING! I am grateful for every team member who supported our move on 3/6/19. Is it ok to say that I LOVE YOU YOU ALL? xo Jo Anne K. Richards read more
