Octomovers are terrific !! They moved my daughter's belongings from our house in Southern Connecticut to her new apartment in Indianapolis. They are careful, courteous and very organized. I so appreciate their efforts in helping her get settled. Very reasonable price for an interstate move. Highly recommend ! read more

Where do I begin? My experience with Octomovers far exceeded my expectations. I was researching moving companies for a few weeks and I saw the reviews for this company and decided to give them a try. I am so happy that I chose Octomovers for our move. From the beginning, my experience was great. Speaking with Jelena, who arranged everything flawlessly and answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns that I had prior to my move. Then Edwin and his crew showed up and quickly and carefully picked up all my things. They took exceptional care to protect all of my possessions, especially a few delicate pieces that I requested be handled with care. They were courteous and professional at all times. I want to say that going into this move I did not expect such exceptional service. I've moved a few times and it has not always been the best experience. That being said, Octomovers really delivered amazing service and I was really pleased. If I have to move again, I am definitely calling Octomovers to move me. This has been such a pleasant experience for something as stressful as moving. My wife and I want to say "THANK YOU" to everyone that helped make our move a success. read more

Octomovers provided a seamless moving experience from the initial contact to the end of the move! Jelena was an excellent resource and provided effective customer service. The company provides a flat rate or by the hour option, which is helpful depending on your needs, with overall competitive pricing. Rodney and the team arrived on time, and got to work immediately. They were efficient, organized and took care with our items. I have no complaints and am happy I booked this company! read more

INCREDIBLE! Having not moved in 12 years we were nervous about moving our four person, two bedroom family from Manhattan to Queens and possibly being swindled in some fashion based off of stories I've heard. But the movers (Rodney, Danny, and Washington) were absolutely wonderful, efficient, kind and approachable people. Zoe and Jelena in sales were so thorough, patient, and caring with all our questions and concerns from the first call to the last. And the pricing is so affordable as well! I cannot recommend them highly enough and am always a fan of supporting smaller "mom and pop" companies! read more

Words cannot express how much care, attention and genuine thoughtfulness went into my move with the Octomovers Team. From obtaining a quote, calling expressing my fears about going over the number of boxes and even almost crying when I was told I couldn't throw away any more furniture the day of the move, I was met with understanding, patience, and kindness. Seriously there was a reasonable solution for everything that happened that day! I couldn't recommend a better moving company than Octomovers. Their entire team was awesome. Thanks to Zoe, Jelena, Milo and the three awesome movers that helped me day of! read more

I don't know how to begin. This company, Octomovers, far exceeded my expectations. First, they were on time!!! They came to work. They moved like a fine oil machine and were very professional in their work. They asked great questions, and they moved me with efficiency. i am so very happy I chose them to move my family, and I would recommend them every day of the week and twice on Sundays! I especially want to thank the lead mover, Eddie. Thank you for being courteous, professional, and prepared. read more

They lost, broke or stole almost $700 worth of my possessions and refuse to make it right; forcing me to go to small claims court. NYCHA hired this company, not me. WARNING: DO NOT ALLOW YOUR POSSESSIONS TO BE MOVED BY THEM OR YOU WILL REGRET IT! read more

We did a 2-bed apartment move with Octomovers in northern NJ, and they sent a team of three, led by Edison. They were very professional, efficient, and careful with our belongings. The move was completed quickly and smoothly (even faster than we expected). Jelena was my point of contact, and she was very helpful throughout the process and ensuring sending the COIs to both buildings. Great communication, great price, and great people! Highly recommend, and hope to use their services again in the future. read more

We hired Octomovers for a local move in the Bronx. Zoe was our contact person, and she was wonderful. Made the whole process a lot easier to go through. From the estimate, which I was encouraged to change as many times as I wanted (4 changes tops), to the on time arrival of the movers, we were so pleased with the service. The movers were great, friendly and efficient. We would definitely use them again in a heartbeat, and recommend them as well. read more

First time using a moving company rather than relying on friends, family, and elbow grease. I contacted half a dozen movers and Octomovers offered the best price by far, a flat rate that can slide depending on whether it took more than the agreed upon time frame. I signed the contract, paid the deposit, and awaited moving day. The crew called me on their way over and, upon arrival, immediately got to work. They loaded up all my boxes, prepped my furniture with blankets and plastic wrap, and even boxed a few odds and ends I had lying around. Soon it was all in the truck and we were on the road to my new place. The unloading was fast and easy. They asked where everything should go and even helped assemble a few things, like the bed frame, and affixing the mirror onto the dresser. Nothing got damaged and not a scrape on any of the walls, floors, or ceilings. If you're moving on a budget and want a reliable team that will deliver great results, this company is for you. My highest praise and recommendations, and if (when) I move next, they'll be the first people I call. read more

This is the best moving company!!!! I can't recommend them enough. They moved me from Louisiana to North Carolina, were above and beyond and made this a seamless move for me!! Ralph responds to every email and the customer service is the best!! read more

The movers were great, taking care of my belongings and making it a hassle free move. It's the only moving company I have ever used where all of my stuff arrived in the same condition as when it left. They even managed a giant solid oak media console that weighed about 500lbs! read more

Octomovers - Movers Near Me - New York, New York

A well overdue recommendation. I was moving out of state and a was having a difficult time finding a mover that I could trust. A friend recommended Octomovers and I am so glad she did! From start to finish they were professional from the quote process, packing and actual move. The team that moved my apartment were organized and efficient. Even the doorman (that was at the building for 15 years) said he never saw a moving team so good. They respected the lobby and all common areas. I had lived in the city for many years and only wish I knew about them sooner. Moving would have been much easier if I did. They followed up when they said they would and followed through on everything as promised. If you are looking for an honest moving company in New York, look no more! I highly recommend Octomovers. read more

We used this company 3 times. The first 2 times went fine, no problems. The third time, on 7/7/2023, someone there dropped the ball. They charged us an hourly rate for 4 people (like before) but this time only 3 people showed up, so it took much longer than should have. They stopped for one hour lunch on the drive between locations, so again, much longer. One truck arrived with some stuff already loaded so they needed to do an additional trip between locations. So again... a waste of our time and money. Disappointing. read more

Octomovers were efficient and very kind when arranging my moving plans after another company did not provide me with the efficiency that was needed. The movers took great care of my belongings and finished everything within a timely manner! They were pleasant and respectful. Choosing a moving company can be a little nerve wrecking, but I completely trust Octomovers and would highly recommend their service!! read more

Full Transparency: We had initially gone with Man-With-A-Van to help us with our move. They were a complete headache to work with, unprofessional, rude, and ended up cancelling on us the day before the move. In comes Octomovers. From the start they were quick to respond to e-mails, professional in all communications, and made the entire booking process stress free. On the day of the move, the movers were at our place early, and treated all our furniture with care. They wrapped everything, and moved it all out of our 5th floor walk up without complaint or issue. And it was a 5th floor walk up. They delivered everything at our new place in perfect condition. They made what could have been a stressful day completely stress free. These are the people you want to help you with your move! read more

Solid, on-time, helpful, cool crew. Def recommend and would use them again in a second. Well-earned review. They made a potentially stressful ideal relatively easy. Also, good price when I compared to others. read more

Octomovers has been very helpful throughout my moving process. Not only was the Company very transparent and proactive throughout the whole engagement, but it also executed its task seamlessly. The movers are very efficient and acted swiftly throughout the whole process. They were also willing to go beyond what's expected to be done on a regular move (rearranging my furniture based on my need, etc.). Also, note that Octomovers is relatively affordable compared to many other movers out there (I have inquired around 20 movers, and Octomover is on the bottom range with a very good price to value ratio). I would highly recommend Octomovers if you are looking for a very efficient and affordable mover! read more

This was not only the best moving company I have ever worked with they were the most affordable. Milos was quick and got everything I needed over to me in a timely manner - the team was on time, quick, and highly efficient. They also don't try and nickel and dime you for every single thing. With a lot of moving companies you have to worry about a ton of added charges in the middle of your move or movers trying to scam you, this was an honest company that went above and beyond even when issues arose out of anyone's control. I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone and will use them in all my future moves. read more

Did a NYC move on a peak day - movers arrived early, had my studio packed up within an hour, included a second stop (with assembly / disassembly of a frame) and then final drop off. Overall, excellent moving experience, highly responsive customer service, and, perhaps most importantly, an excellent price compared to other movers that will throw an outrageous quote at you before spamming your phone for weeks and gradually coming down on price. Highly recommend Octomovers read more

I contacted them literally last minute. They got 3 a to me within 2 hours, and they knocked the job out in no time. They packed my truck, and when I got to my destination, nothing had moved! Fast and trustworthy, what we agreed on is what I paid. Highly recommend! read more

Plain and simple: If you are moving, use this company. I worked with Milos. Him and his team are absolutely amazing. They responded with a quote within an hour- always available at the drop of a hat to answer a call or email. I had to change my move in date last minute from a Wednesday to a Friday and they were able to accommodate me with Rate was incredibly fair, service was fast. A third floor walk up one bedroom apartment to a fourth floor walk up apartment and they were done in a little over 2 hours. Covid Precautions: Movers were wearing masks the whole entire process. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. Ralph the owner was prompt in his response to my inquiry and managed to schedule us according to our very tight schedule . The team of movers, Xavier, Paco, Carlos and Washington - arrived exactly on time. Their professionalism and speed are unmatched to any other previous moving experience. They are so efficient and yet very cautious with our stuff. As much as I dislike moving, having their assistance made it a pleasant experience, they were so polite ! Their price was more than fair and they were very thorough coming out and taking an itemized inventory- and no surprise surcharges . They will be our go to guys for any moves in the future ! read more

There are many movers in NYC and several have very good reviews. This company was not originally one I reached out to directly for a quote but since I submitted through Yelp, they were put in the mix. They were the first to respond, quoted a very fair price (which did not get adjusted during the process) and were extremely efficient professional and pleasant to work with. They accommodated multiple stops and had to carry my couch down 5 flights of stairs all with no complaints or ridiculous upcharges. The operations team confirmed with me prior and followed up immediately after to ensure I received quality service. I highly recommend and would use them again. read more

Update - was slightly bummed to discover a serving tray splintered into many pieces despite it being placed on top of bubble wrap in a small box labeled fragile. Nonetheless, accidents happen, would still recommend Octomovers. Overall was a painless process to move with them. read more

The very best! Don't think about it twice! Truly Amazing! My husband and I had been dreading our move as I have a 4 months old baby and we were hesitant to hire movers due to covid... but these guys literally saved our moving experience. They gave us a quote right away and were very patient with me every time I sent them a revised inventory sheet... But most importantly, the actual move was pure excellence! Not 1 issue and these guys work soooo fast! They showed up and wore their masks the entire time. Our new house has stairs but they managed to get everything in without a scratch and worked those weird stair angles!!! Handled everything with care and knew all the flips and turns to get the big items in without any damage to walls or furniture. The price was VERY reasonable and to be honest it was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY! Our move was a little over 50 miles into Long Island and everything was done within 5hrs! read more

Spectacular experience from start to finish! Milos was wonderful from my first call. This was a great service! I had to change/delay the time of my move arrival, and they were so nice and accommodating. Also, I didn't do the best job packing, but the movers just took care of everything. They offered to pack up the stuff in their moving bins that I hadn't packed yet (which I declined bc I felt bad, but in hindsight should have). They arrived at my new place in under 30min. The whole move took around 4 hours, it was magic. The movers were super nice, very careful with my belonging (I had some glass shelves for bookcases and other furniture pieces), and just generally pleasant and hard working. They don't move so fast that they're just throwing your furniture around, they know what they are doing, they take their time, but they move efficiently. Best $$ I've ever spent. read more

This was probably the most complicated move I've ever done. A move to a four bedroom is a big deal, and so many things can go wrong so easily. It turned out to be the easiest, simplest, and most painless move I've ever done. Ralph the owner came to my home and did a thorough in-home survey before the move. He gave me a choice between a flat price and an hourly rate, and advised that the hourly rate would be better if I packed some of the things myself. He was 100% right. He dropped off a lot of boxes for us to start doing the packing ourselves, which must've saved us at least $500-$1000 in labor costs. The four-man crew that came in are outstanding professionals; they worked hard all day and always kept a courteous and polite attitude. They knew when to take my queue for a little bit of personal interchange, but snapped right back to respectful courtesy when it was over. The foreman, Rodney, is a consummate professional. Years of experience under his belt, he sees his job as a profession and a source of pride. Throughout the move he gave instructions, advice and guidance, and dispensed wisdom to members of the crew (Washington, Rock and Javier), who were all immensely experienced themselves. A true mentor and teacher. Instead of packing everything and just charging us for boxes and materials, which almost any other company would do, Rodney offered (and I accepted) to pack most things into large commercial bins which they can take back at the end of the move and not have to charge me for. The destination wasn't far away, and it was safe to do. Indeed everything arrived in perfect shape. Particularly our most important piece of furniture, our baby - the Steinway upright piano - was handled like the much-loved family member that it is. The final charges were a welcome surprise - much lower than originally estimated. I couldn't be more grateful. Now I can't wait for someone to ask me if I can recommend a mover. Can I ever! read more

We used them for our move from NYC to Arizona. They were quick, professional, friendly, responsible and just all around a pleasure to work with. HOGHLY recommend Octomovers! (Oh and I don't know if this is typical, but we paid for our things to arrive within 21 days but it arrived in 6! So amazing to have our things delivered so quickly, not a single item was damaged or broken, and they were priced very reasonably/competitively). thank you Octomovers!! read more

After making a reservation with another company through a shady broker (Alliance Van Lines), I scrambled to find a local company who could move me from NY to out-of-town on very short notice. I'm so glad I found Octomovers! Ralph was fantastic. He gave me a great rate that was significantly lower than Alliance. I also liked that he didn't try to oversell me or pressure me. He was available and quick in his response by text, taking care of all of my concerns about potential rain, uncertainty about dates, etc. He arrived in person to greet me the day of the move before handing things off to Rodney who was the foreman for the move. Rodney was also fantastic. Very friendly, professional, and a great leader. He and his team (3 total) had all my things out of the house in under an hour. Nothing was dropped, hit, scuffed, or anything, and they paid careful attention to the order I wanted things moved in. When they arrived to unload at my storage unit, everything was done quickly and arrived in great condition. Rodney rearranged anything that I wanted in a different place. Everyone on the team was friendly, personable, and energetic. Moving (especially now) is so emotional. They really took so much stress away. read more

TL;DR Octomovers stopped communicating with me after I signed the contract and didn't reply until the moving date! In my opinion this is an unreliable moving company. Long version : On Friday afternoon, Octomovers and I'd agreed on the moving date and time (the upcoming Monday 9am), then Octomovers sent me a contract to sign. After I signed, I asked Octomovers how to pay the $50 deposit. Suddenly Octomovers stopped replying, mind you this was still Friday normal business hours. I tried email, yelp, texts, calls, no replies. Then on Monday morning the agreed upon moving time, 9am, Octomovers called and cancelled the agreement. read more

What can I say? Ralph and his team at OctoMovers are #1 in my book! I have been using Ralph for small to large scale moves for over 10 years. He is the most reliable, professional, organized, trustworthy and thoughtful person who you would ever want to pack up and move your personal belongings. He is simply the BEST! I have used OctoMovers for over 20 moves - from New York City to the Hamptons to Brooklyn to Upstate NY. He has moved a simple mattress from one house to another, or packed up an entire apartment - whatever the task, he will take it on. It doesn't matter where or when, Ralph and his team will be there on time, and on point. Ralph also has a wonderful group of employees who are equally awesome. If he cannot personally be there, he ensures that every single job is carried out successfully. He is a wonderful manager, and makes sure that the level of service is consistently great. Big or small, around the corner or miles away, I would ONLY use OctoMovers for all my packing and moving needs. I look forward to many more years working with Ralph. read more
