Just a heads up. This place has a very predatory pricing strategy. They get you in at a reasonable rate, but after a few months, with only an email warning you with a month's notice, that rate jumps by over $120/mo. So, once your stuff is settled, and you are less likely to leave, they bump up the price to a CRAZY amount for storage. I love the facility, and they do a great job keeping your stuff safe, but be aware, it will not stay financially safe. My rate went from 290 to 410 without any warning, reason or recourse. read more

tl;dr Dispatch was great, crew was horrible I want to be fair. Dispatch was professional, helpful, and the price was reasonable, especially for short notice. I wasn't pushed to give more of a tip, although I did tip more than recommended. I was initially really satisfied, but have since discovered they deliberately damaged a 6-level stacked metal card cabinet. When I included it in the inventory, I wasn't aware there were still items in the drawers. Our move was extremely chaotic, and the moving service that we used prior, checked all drawers to make sure they were empty, before moving items. People make mistakes, especially in stressful circumstances. Nonetheless, I accept that the responsibility of checking was still ultimately mine. However, if I had been made aware there were still items inside, I would have apologized, and either offered to pay more, or moved the drawers myself. After arriving at the new location, my son heard clinking sounds, as one of the movers walked past him smirking, while shaking and swinging the drawers, one in each hand. He then threw the drawers on their sides, onto one of my metal bookcases, which was apparently repeated for all 6 stacks. Between the throwing and shaking, the outer surfaces of the drawers and top of the bookcase were scratched and scuffed. The individual drawers were so badly dented that I had trouble putting several back in once removed, to retrieve the items that had been flung into the very back, past the drawers. They could have refused to take the cabinet, like they did with several boxes I had pointed out at the beginning of the move as needing to be prioritized. I had to beg and offer them more money to get those boxes onto the truck, because they said they'd already taken enough items. It wasn't until they called dispatch that they were told I had preemptively paid more the day before, because I didn't want to risk undercounting the boxes and other items. Dispatch said I didn't owe anything more, and told them to take the boxes. I was trying to understand why this crew didn't simply decline to move the cabinet, like with the boxes. They would have been well within their rights, because it violated their company's policy. Given the smirking and throwing, the only conclusion I can make is that this crew found messing with customers and damaging their items, fun. read more

The movers were there early I got a 2 man crew and truck and were about done in two hours. Great Service Great Quote can't ask for much more. I paid Zeromax $2,500 to move my 1 bedroom apartment from NYC to CA, and used their storage for 2 months while I got settled. Should've been straightforward, but there were problems from the start. Billing issues during storage: They double billed me in the first month (extra ~$200), and then tried to do it again the last month. Both times I only caught it because I was monitoring my credit card transactions closely. They reversed the charges when I called them out, but the fact that it happened twice makes me think it's intentional, not a mistake. The delivery fee scam: The day before delivery, the driver calls saying I need to pay a $500 "shuttle fee" because his truck is too big for my driveway. This was never mentioned when I booked -- I gave them my address upfront, it's just a regular residential house. I pushed back and the fee suddenly dropped to $300. After calling the office, I "negotiated" down to $150 with them supposedly covering the rest. The fact that the price changed three times (500 to 300 to 150) told me everything about how made up this was. The worst part: - They wouldn't put anything in writing - I paid $150 cash and never got a receipt, even though Ron promised to send one later (never came) - A 15 foot truck rental costs like $30/hour. where did $300 come from? My stuff fits in a 15-foot truck, they chose to use an 18-wheeler Their own terms say parking fees are $100-250, not $300 shuttle fees. And if you're doing residential deliveries, needing a smaller truck for the last mile should already be part of your pricing. Pattern of behavior: Between the double billing attempts during storage and the surprise delivery fee with no documentation, there's clearly a pattern here. They seem to bank on customers not paying attention or being too stressed to fight back. Would not use again and wouldn't recommend to anyone. read more

I had a small move in the form of an antique hutch with little structural integrity and was impressed by the resourcefulness and CARE of the moving team. Since the destination was only a few blocks away, I thought it was resourceful for them to suggest wheeling it (inside a large padded box ) on a moving cart rather than putting it in the truck and having to deal with parking issues. I had SUCH a wonderful experience with ZeroMax Movers. THE PRICE CANNOT BE BEAT!!! I AM TELLING YOU!! I called 10+ places. ZEROMAX WAS THE CHEAPEST And had THE BEST REVIEWS! I lived on the 5th floor of my old apartment and I was moving to the 4th floor of a new apartment. These guys are such hard workers! My old apartment had VERY narrow stairs and my furniture is very expensive. Not ONE item was scratched or damaged. The men took apart my bed and my peloton, they put these items back together perfectly and super fast! I had a couch come to my new apartment, the men came here first to carry that couch up for me and put it together! The couch was VERY heavy. I had multiple boxes of China glass and not one item was scratched or broken. I didn't even wrap the glass up because I didn't have time! Really remarkable. It was a hot rainy night and the men moved my belongings without getting them wet. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. They set me up for a win! Moving is always stressful. Moving with a small baby? Even more stressful. As a parent of a young kid, things can often be unpredictable and last-minute. For our move we needed a company that understood the challenges that moving with a small kid, and Zeromax did that and more. They were able to give us multiple estimates: hourly rate, flat rate, flat rate plus assembly of a king size bed from scratch; 3 movers vs. 4 movers; massive dining table going into the apartment or perhaps into the basement, etc.. The week before the move I spoke with Victor over the phone, making final arrangements. They didn't even request a downpayment, saying that I would just pay the agreed price at the end of the move. They gave me a 9am-10am start time for the day of the move, and the movers arrived at 9am. The day of the move they showed up with 4 men, and they gave us the possibility to do the move with 3 men as originally planned, or with 4 men; hourly rate and flat rate. We opted for the flat rate. Victor and his men were very good: extremely efficient and fast, they wrapped in blankets all the pieces of furniture individually, and took great care with the most fragile items[1]. The whole move took about 2 hours[2], including travel within Brooklyn. I was particularly impresses the way they managed to fit the massive dining table into the new apartment, making it slide vertically very carefully through a very narrow corridor. I worked with the same company for my 2 previous moves, and I didn't have a reason to switch. Except the previous moving company could not provide all 3 different types of insurance certificate my old building required, while Zeromax did. I felt a bit anxious switching moving company, but I was very pleased with Zeromax and would not hesitate to use them again.
