The scheduled a same day pickup and move (this was during the midst of covid, when everyone was making an exodus), charged us reasonable prices (when we were really in a bind and totally desperate as we were moving out of state), and were just an overall pleasure to work with during a very high stress situation. Really kind and patient. Truck was broom swept clean and they brought moving blankets, tape, and shrink wrap. I followed the truck in the rental; the driver was careful and used a great truck route. The business offers hourly and flat rate. The flat rate estimate was spot on, and even though I went with hourly, I paid about the same.

I needed a company to move mom's belongings from suburban New York to Maryland the following Monday morning. Not only was this an interstate move, it was not a lot of time to organize everything. Bob was fantastic on the phone, asking all of the pertinent questions that he needed answers to. I had to be out of town myself from Friday through Sunday, so I had little to no time to pack things. I even called Bob Thursday to ask if the movers could make a second stop to drop a few things off at my sisters house while they were in Maryland. She is only living about half a mile away from my mother, but even then I thought I was asking too much. Not for Bob! He said it would not be a problem, and the extra charge was very reasonable. When the Irish moving crew arrived, they took care of everything! Even though they were not expecting to wrap and pack various pieces of art, plates, and trinkets, they did so with a smile. Both men were extremely professional, courteous, and fast. They had my mother's things packed and onto their truck within two hours. They called me from the road to update me on their progress, and they alerted a staging company as to their arrival time so the staging company could meet them at my mother's assisted living facility. They called me from the assisted living facility to clarify my sister's address, and they made the second stop at her house as well. I have never met a moving company that was so professional, courteous, experienced, and easy to work with as Irish Moving. If you ever need to move, give serious consideration to calling Bob. Seriously, wtf? This service is useful and convenient, but the customer service is TERRIBLE. The rep I dealt with seemed unable to answer simple clarification questions without a huge amount of attitude and bizarre miscommunications. When she picked up, I told her that I can't log in to my account because password reset emails never arrive (and aren't in my spam folder, or anywhere else), so can I please just schedule to have my stuff dropped off over the phone? She puts me on hold immediately, and then returns to ask me HOW I WANT MY PASSWORD RESET. I'm like, no, I don't care about that...I want my stuff back, can I schedule that on the phone? She puts me on hold again. Then she comes back and says, "OK, when do you want it?" I ask, "When can I have drop-off? Can you give me some time slots?" She tells me "6-8" tomorrow (Sunday) is available, so I say yes, assuming that means 6-8pm (it didn't). Then she asks me about whether I would like to have the driver wait 20 minutes or schedule bin pick-up for later, and I ask how much it would cost to have the bins picked up later. It's $17, so I pick that option. Then she tells me that I can schedule that online or via phone. I ask if I can't just schedule this later bin pick-up on the phone with her right now, and she gets confused and starts condescendingly "clarifying" about whether I am saying that I want my bins with my stuff in them scheduled later (instead of tomorrow). No, why would I be saying that, when we were just talking about scheduling empty bin pick-up?? And why doesn't it make sense to her that I want to schedule for ya'll to pick up my empty bins while we're on the phone right now, instead of having to repeat this nonsensical process all over again tomorrow or next week? Then she walks through the time slots, and when I stop her to clarify when she says that my stuff will be dropped off between 6-8 AM (because I originally thought she meant 6-8pm), she interrupts me to start repeating the whole spiel, instead of just listening to my simple question for 2 seconds. They kept the doors open for my transfer from one unit to another and opened the gate each and every time I needed it. The place is clean and easy to get to. They all you a few days before payment is due so you don't pay fees either. Price is a bit high but I think storage is expensive. I think is is a cool spot if you need a place to drop off some stuff. It's like having an extra closet.
