With a 4-5 man crew, I was amazed at how fast and efficiently they were able to work. After an almost 2-hour move out (stairs and a stoop) they moved my stuff into my new apartment in 1 hour! Working with Robert always includes personal attention to your concerns, needs and special items. And he's always thorough with close attention to detail. And the crew is friendly and just cool to work with. The prior company had to partially dismantle the stairwell to get things into the building and the end cost was twice as high. Moving from the same brownstone to an elevator building with detailed rules and regulations, this time in mid-winter-- even with sub-zero temperatures, 2-foot snowbanks and a disorganized client, JP Urban was wonderful. the process of planning the move and arranging the advance paperwork with JP was seamless. The crates stack up very neatly, unlike cardboard boxes, and are much easier for the movers to move. The drop-off and pick-up were punctual and flexible. We originally booked for two weeks - took one week to pack, two days to unpack. BoxUp was able to pick up the crates early and get them out of our way. Reuben did the drop-off and pick-up and was very professional. BoxUp also conveniently offers other packing material to be delivered with the crates. The green wrap was perfect for small pottery pieces, and the bubblewrap was great to protect art. Looking forward to booking BoxUp again when we have to move!

They have boxes for junk, boxes for tvs, boxes for lamps - are you following me here? They have supplies for moving - tape, blankets, plastic wrap, paper. So I go online and make my order (FREE shipping by the way on everything!) and expect it to come in a couple days according to the site. After the confirmation of sale is where it gets good. 30 minutes pass and I get a call from the company saying they can deliver today, the same day, in the late afternoon. OK. One hour later I get another call that they can deliver right now. Yes please. Approximately three hours after I ordered many, many boxes, they arrived in perfect shape. Only downside was some cosmetic damages to my furniture and the walls and wood paneling in my apartment's stairwell/hallway -- they rushed a bit with some furniture pieces that should've probably been better protected with blankets, or handled by 2 people instead of clumsily by 1 when going up stairs. Anyway, that's to be expected with cross-town moves and I always assume I'm going to wind up with a couple of dings. Overall I was happy and would gladly use Dumbo again and recommend them to a friend.

The place is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! I sign up and reserve a 5'x5'x4' unit online. I tell the office manager and he's just like "yeah they gotta re-measure these units" like they clearly know they aren't the size they are advertising and selling. I tell them I won't pay the price of a 5'x5' for something that is clearly 5'x3' and after waiting an hour for a manager, the douchebag says he can knock $10 off or I can take a refund. He says sometimes you get more than you pay for and sometimes it may be less. These guys are pure scammers that know what they're doing is wrong and don't care. They let me know before they arrived and were exactly when they said they'd be, coordinated with the building Superintendent, and moved my ton of stuff out of a 2bd.
