I am one of those people who reads reviews to get an idea about the quality and reliability of the companies, but rarely writes them after the fact of utilizing the services. But this time around I just mmmust let everyone know how incredibly awesome, trustworthy and punctual the guys at Urbin are!!! When I was interning in NYC, I had to pack and vacate my apartment on short notice and Urbin guys were at my door as if they were one of those best friends that got your back no matter the weather. I was freaking out about not having enough suitcases to pack my numerous books, pantry and other loose household things; but the bins these guys provided were an absolute perfect solution - I just packed everything in, closed the bin lids, locked them and was given a set of keys so that I and only I could open them upon request. When several months later I was ready to move into a new apartment, it was no longer in NYC, but in New Haven, CT - I was worried about having to go to NYC, getting my stuff and carrying it all back to New Haven on my own - BUT I had to do no such thing!! The guys just simply delivered my bins to my new location - they were unbelievable on updating me on the deliver time and all. And in the past I used to have other moving companies returning my things soggy and scratched - but URbin is absolutely amazing in this respect; all my belongings were in the same nice condition that I turned them in for storage: no odor, no scratches, no dust; just my cool things and I reunited! wink wink ;) So, long story short, If you want to spare some of the biggest hassles of moving - packing, storing and transporting your belongings (whether short or long term) - look no further! Every turn in the seasons my domestic partner and I have to lug our stuff in and out of storage to prepare for the winter or summer season....this means renting a truck/zipcar, driving around the crowded streets of manhattan, and pulling my back out lifting boxes of clothing/furniture/golf clubs etc...ANNNDD IT'S A HUGEEE PAIN FOR BOTH OF US!! especially since I work overnights and she is a busy nyc attorney. Sooooo...this brings me to my most recent and new experience with Urbin! After scouring online for storage alternatives in NYC and coming up with almost squat...i stumbled upon urbin. At first I was a little skeptical since I couldn't find too many reviews (guessing they're new on the scene perhaps?), but my skepticism was immediately changed by my first and second experiences with them. I submitted my order online (super-easy!) and they came on-time and were very friendly! As a storage company, I wasn't expecting the timeliness or great customer service BUT i was fantastically surprised! And at the price Im paying, it was completely WORTH IT!!! I never had to leave my apt and they dropped off my ski gear right in time for the season! I was shocked to see that these guys are the only one's providing such an easy and convenient storage service in new york, but i guess it's not something I paid much attention to before. I received my units back from storage yesterday and decided to finally write a review here. Urbin originally attracted me with their pricing - better than any storage I received a quote from. Now, two years and at least five orders later I can say with confidence these guys do a great job. First of all, their bins are very convenient - large and sturdy. I have been able to store all my bulky winter clothes, snow boots, beach chairs, umbrellas and other stuff that used to take up all the space in my closets. Second, they are prompt with their responses - problems are solved in a matter of minutes, even on weekends and holidays. I have had several last minute requests throughout this time and they were always on top of things. Finally, they are very careful with furniture pieces. My dining table and chairs were moved to and from storage several times, always wrapped, never a scratch. Overall, i'm very happy with the service and will be using them again! read more

Simple, 'nuff said. The UrBin dudes got it goin' on. Here is how it worked: 1. Overstuffed my closets with stuff I want to keep but don't readily accesible. 2. Ran outta space to store all of it. 3. Everyone who's moved recently knows the immense stress of the entire process. From start to finish, I couldn't have had a better experience with UrBin and the physical move was seamless. I was amazed by how easy the planning was. I was able to send a video walk through of my apartment and they used that to itemize and provide a quote. Other than the movers, everything that could have gone wrong did. My building elevator broke for almost a month. I needed to reschedule the move more than once and eventually gave up and used the stairs. UrBin was not only flexible but easy to work with amid all the changes on my side. The movers did an incredible job negotiating an extra tight stairwell and took great care with my items. I couldn't recommend them more highly if you want to help alleviate stress during your move. Last fall, a co-worker recommended I use urBin to store stuff I'm not putting to use during the winter. Pretty website, easy to navigate. Scheduled an appointment and a nice chic bin was delivered by a couple guys. I filled it with whatever I knew I would not need til atleast late spring, locked it up, and had it picked up a few days later for storing. In the meantime I've ordered a second bin, and stored a bunch of electronic and chunky stuff that I am not using, but don't have the heart to toss out either (DVDs, books, hard-drive, etc). I always knew there were storage options in the city. But to buy my own boxes, tape them up, cab them to a storage site, load them into the place myself, then repeat the process whenever I need some stuff back -- has been too daunting to ever try. These guys rock. I simply have too much stuff for my tiny West Village apt and when a friend recommended urBin it sounded too good to be true. They delivered 4 bins right to my apartment. I only filled up 3 so they refunded me the 4th. They came back to pick up my bins RIGHT ON TIME and even sent me a text when they were on their way. I can now manage my bins online and request deliveries whenever I want. AWESOME. I just had an amazing experience with urBin again and it is time I give these guys credit on yelp. I a mom of two and between kids, work and other family responsibilities I knew I could not afford day-long trips to storage just to get rid of some of the clutter we'd accumulated over the years. I used UrBin for my move from Manhattan to Brooklyn and working with them was the smoothest part of the overall moving process which is never fun. Karl helped me itemize what I needed to move by going through each room and helped me figure out what was in my crowded basement storage to give me the most accurate quote possible so there were no surprises later. Great company. My girlfriend recently moved in with me to my one bedroom apartment and it took some adjusting.
